"The hotel overbooked and we had to sent to another hotel for the first night which we had to pay for. When we eventually did get to stay here we moved rooms 3 times as first one wasn't cleaned, second was flooded and third was disgusting. Staff are rude and unhelpful. The keys let you into to random rooms so it isn't secure atall. Worst hotel i've ever stayed in and i'm not fussy ATALL."

"Wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. Reception screwed us over the first night and said there were no rooms available even though we booked 8 months prior. They sent us to another hotel for a night which turned out to be a lot nicer then the playa. The rooms in the playa are awful. ac didn't work, little bed sheets, broken shower, no clean towels,no lock on toilets. The pool itself can be quite dirty and the restauran/bar workers beside it are very sly and sleezy. Be very careful on balcony with bottles as you can be blamed for all sorts. Good holiday but dreadful accommodation "

"I have stayed in many basic hotels and apartments in my time in Ibiza, Turkey, Greece etc but I have never been to somewhere more rank in my life. We arrived to be told they didn't have enough rooms for us when we had booked 6 months prior to this and that we may need to go and stay in another hotel for a night which we would of had to pay for, they didn't have anything written on a database it was all done by rubbing out pencil on a calender! IDIOTS. After kicking up a fuss we finally got given a room key, to only find it hadn't been cleaned and was STINKING, pee on the bed sheets, a cockroach under a glass in the middle of the room, clothes, food and hair extensions thrown around the place. We then complained again and the staff were terrible making us feel like it was our fault that they had fully booked and not cleaned the room and were RUDE and actually lied and made excuses and refused to let us see the manager when he was through the other side of a glass wall infront of us. After kicking up a fuss we got another room to which was also TINY we had to walk over the bed and whoever was sleeping on it on the floor to get anywhere and the fridge was broken so the floor was constantly soaking, we complained about this but nothing was done. After this we eventually got given another room after complaining again which was O.K but it would of been much easier if we had got the rooms we actually paid for on the day that we came! The pool area is standard but the water is dirty as two of us got an eye and ear infection while staying here. There also isn't enough sun loungers. The staff that work in the restaurant are absolute creeps and think it's acceptable to go around groping girls and throwing water over them. Keep an eye out for slick rick who's hair is greasier than a pan after making 100 egg sandwiches. The biggest problem we came across was that alot of the keys opened different rooms, I woke up one night to find a boy in my room asking if he could have some of the KFC gravy that I had left out. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS TERRIBLE AND WILL RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY. "

"A group of 5 from Scotland arrived at these apartments at night for an 11 day holiday in June 2012. We were immediatley impressed with the location being right next to BCM! It wasn't too loud either still easy to sleep if you come back early from a night out. We had 2 rooms. Both were very basic and had bathrooms that you wouldn't want to touch, one with a pool of water around the toilet at all times. The fridge smelled and there was holes along the skirting. One rooms air con was broken and no one fixed it even though we asked. We quickly unpacked and headed out. The strip and BCM are amazing, great people and a laugh. Once we got back we found a cockroach in the room and it wasn't the last one. Our rooms got cleaned twice in the 11 days we were there. By the end our bins were over flowing and we were using our beach towels as all were dirty. The showers are very weak and one rooms broke twice but were fixed the next day. They also take a £150 deposit per room when you arrive incase you break anything. By the second last day I had no money left so went to ask for my money back and give them my bank card instead. They couldn't find my money so gave me some from another room but didn't take my card (think they thought I looked trustworthy). The security is good if you have any trouble with another room but they allow anyone to come back so the place gets a bit mad at night with people swimming in the pool, throwing parties etc. PRs also freely go from room to room trying to sell you pub crawls, booze cruises etc. Alot of spanish use this hotel and they can be very rude, loud and the boys can get sleezy. Other than the cockroaches the worst thing about this place is the pool. The music they play is not good and way too loud. It gets packed with alot of rowdy older people (middle aged 30s/40s stag do sort of thing) and the pool itself is horrible with sun loungers, beer bottles and even one day - sick in the water (people still swam in it). We had to walk passed it every day and we went to the Samos hotel on the other side of BCM which was lovely great food, people, music and pool. Very clean and cheaper than the Magaluf Playa!! Tried the Playa food one day and it wasn't cooked fully and didn't look good even if it had been. For Scottish visitors try the Bronze bar just up from Magaluf Playa and at nights the MCP is a good deal 6 clubs and free bar for 20 euro. Main strip and beach is 2/3 mins away so the location is fab but you can get a fab location and everything else at the Samos!"

"Me and 8 other girls stayed here in June 2011. The holiday was the best we could have ever wished for! Location The location was all we could have wished for and more! Literally walk around the corner and you are at BCM and BCM square, which is a mental night! The walk to the strip is only like 5 minutes. Room The room was basic but clean! There was everything in the room you could ask for, and the beds were very comfortable. The balcony was large, as was the room. On arrival our air con wasnt working, but with a nice word to the most amazing receptionist it was fixed in an instant! Considering how close to the nightlife you are, there is no noise! The only downside to the hotel would be the lifts, there are only two per block, and they are pretty small. Trying to squeeze in there with suitcases is quite difficult! Staff The reception staff are brilliant! Patrick and Ann are so helpful and understanding, and even though we were loud and getting in the pool at 6am they didnt complain! They listened to all our drunk ramblings and always cracked a joke. They didnt even mind people staying at the hotel as long as youre quiet! Even the manager was lovely despite barely talking English! The only one who let the side down would be the night porter, Steve. He seemed to take a disliking to us, possibly because we called him Manuel. He had a dirty combover and was quite abrupt. But Patrick and Ann more than make up for him! Tom Browns The BEST place to go for food within a close distance. For 25E a day you could go all inclusive! They had pukka deals and the food was all well priced, and perfect when youre hungover! Deals 20E for entry and free drinks in five of the night clubs! BANGING! Boomerang or Bananas are defo the best! Also the best thing to do is just haggle, they offer you a deal but you know they can always do better than they first say! All in all I would say have a brilliant time and defo stay at the Magaluf Playa! Me and the girls are booking up again for this year! Bring on MAGA 2012"

great craic :)
"stayed in the magaluf apartments from the 14th june till 19th june on my mates stags. after reading a few reviews we where a bit concerned about break ins we had read about in the past, but on arrival ANN at reception said that had be all dealt with and was in the past. the apartments where big and spacious, there was 4 of us in a one bed apartment and there was plenty of space. we had brillant views from our room, of the sea, the BCM niteclub and square. the food and drink in the apartments is quite cheap, for 25 euro u can eat and drink as much as u like from 9am till 9pm. The bar staff and all the other staff are tops, very friendly and helpfull. The apartments are generally kept clean and tidy, the lifts do break down the odd time, but only young prople stay at these apartments and it only takes seconds to run up the stairs to your room, and how many times do u be in your room a day anyway :), so its not a problem. The pool and be a bit wild at times with the stag party's but just fun not any trouble. I would defo recommend these apartments to young and lively people, great location, staff, craic, drink and there cheap to stay in, as Arnie says "i'll be back" lol :)"

"After reading reviews on this hotel before I left It seemed as if it wasn't going to be too bad. I have just arrived back from a mates stag weekend staying in this hotel and it has to be the worst I have ever stayed in. I have been to Magaluf many times before and have found hotels in the same price range so much better than this place. We booked as a large group and was put on different floors, had to walk to the room as the lifts were covered in sick. There is an all inclusive deal in the bar 25 euros and drink as much as you can which it seemed so many lads were doing as we arrived. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to any girls considering a holiday here, there are better, cheaper hotels than this. We are all in our 20's and had a great time on the Magaluf strip at night, I suppose if you don't mind a tiny, dirty room that won't be cleaned during your stay then go ahead and book this place. If not please look elsewhere."

"Staff were brilliant, location was fantastic, rooms more than adaquate. Facitlities were good. It was really good to have "Tom Browns" on site for food, had a supermarket and internet access. Views over BCM square. Walking distance to the clubs. In one word: AMAZING A big thank you to the staff, see you next year! "

You get what you pay for
"Me and five friends wanted a cheap holiday so we booked one of the cheapest hotels we could find in Magaluf. So with this in mind we wern't really expecting anything posh. The rooms were clean and tidy on arrival and the maid came in every couple of days. We had no problems with security or the safety deposit box. The lady on reception was very helpful and even gave us an extra room at no extra cost because initially all five of us were sharing an apartment. There lifts are a bit dodgy, don't overload them! It was very noisy at night because of being right next to BCM but we soon got used to that. So overall if you want somewhere cheap to stay in a really good location then I would recommend staying in this hotel!"

Give this hotel a wide berth
" Having returned from a weeks holiday in Magaluf were i stopped at the Magaluf Playa Apartments i would advise anyone contemplating booking this accomodation not to. Having arrived we were informed that a saftey deposit box would cost us 20euro, plus 2euro a day thereafter, after rejecting this sales pitch we proceeeded to the lifts which stank of stale urine. Reaching the room we were shocked to discover the complete contrast to photos we had seen beforehand. We immediately discovered that there was no hot water, the only window was nailed closed, and that the air-condidtioning was faulty, not only that the lock on the patio door had evidence that it had recently been attempted to be forced open. We recieved no clean towels in the first three days and resorted to using baby wipes in order to maintain an element of hygiene. After numerous queiries to the reception about these issues we came to the conclusion that they were simply just trying to fob us off. We were also aware of various incidents of robbery occuring, the security issues concerned me greatly during my stay so much so that i taken to carrying anything valuable on my person. That much being said on day three of my stay i was so stressed out and felt so uncomfortable that i wanted to return to the UK. In hindsight i was glad i did'nt decide to get a saftey deposit box after the incidents i have read about on this site. The Magaluf Playa is without doubt the worst hotel i have ever stayed, which ought to be condemmed as not fit for human habitation. "

"Magaluf playa apartments were GREAT!!! The flats and commune areas were always clean and in perfect working order. The accommodation is simple but very spacious and airy, the balconies in the flat offered great views. The staff at reception were extremely helpful and the location was more than ideal. I recommended 100% We are going back this year. "
