"Just got back from the vista sol apartments and had a fantastic holiday!
It is very clean, the rooms are are decent size, the shower is good, the pool is big and we didnt have a problem getting sat around it! The food from the bar around the pool wasn't too great, but there were pleanty on nice cafes and bars around us!
It is in a really good location, on the way out there is some steps that leads to the main strip, but on the way home you have to walk up a big hill, but thats fine! There wernt many brits in the hotel, we got talking to a few, but people were mainly foreign.
The hotel does not have such a party scene like others in magaluf I have stayed in, it was a lot quieter. Magaluf itsself has quietend down a lot, I couldnt believe the difference from last year, there are no PRs on the strip now, and it has got more expensive as there are no offers, but we still had a fantastic time and will probably return again next year. The resort as a whole seemed to have less brits in too, and there was a lot more nationalities.
I would return to the hotel! cheap, chearful and close to everything!"

Basic but good
"Me and 3 friends have just returned from a week long break at the Vista Sol. We are all male and aged 26. We arrived late in the evening and the check-in was very easy and painless. We were on the top floor which was annoying because the lift is a bit slow but hardly complaint worthy. First thing we noticed was a vast reception area and it was very cleaned so good first impression.
The room served a purpose, good powerful shower, kitchenette had frying pan, saucepans, strainers, toaster and 2 good hobs so all is good there. The main sleeping area was good, 2 comfy beds and a large wardrobe with 2 huge mirrors, the second âsleeping areaâ was the living room which made lounging around problematic. The large sofa bed was fine but the pull out bed was small and uncomfortable and also the slates of wood kept on breaking or falling out leading to an uncomfortable night sleep. The air con in the room was very good!
The hotel has a mixed nationality feel to it and yes the Brits are in the minority but if you wanted English all around you why donât you holiday in England?! The nationalities were Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and British. Easy to decipher who the non brits were â they were the unbelievably stunning ones⦠seriously they were amazing! They were also very friendly to us too. The music around the pool was a mix of Euro Pop and English music, there was also table tennis and pool. The pool is large and deep but gets very crowded but its good because everyone is in there playing games and having a good time.
There is a small supermarket on the same level as the pool selling everything you need or have forgotten and it is very reasonable, it also caters well for making your own meals in the evening or the fry up in the morning. The shop has reasonably priced food and drink but obviously the Euro is hitting things hard at the moment.
I did not find a silence after midnight policy, we got in a couple of nights and had a party with the 3 rooms around us â Norwegian and Swedish people and their was no complaints at all⦠but that may just be because I throw a great party!!!
The hill was steep and whilst it wasnât a problem for someone like me I could see it being a problem for older people â over 60, it wasnât impossible but it took it out of you in the midday sun⦠or after a lot of drinks.
I wouldnât recommend this hotel and to be honest the location for an older crowd, whilst the mayor is trying to clean up the image of the island â no PR people enticing you into clubs and the loss of happy hours it is still a rather loud party scene. For the party scene you are bang on the doorstep of BCM and the main strip, average age is 18 â 21 and if in all fairness I felt old being 26 there so prob wouldnât return but that is no fault of the hotel."

"4 girls aged 18 stopped at the vista sol apartments for 10 days.
Rooms are clean and well maintained by maids as well as being a decent size.
However the majority of the guests were norweigen and on a few occasions we had knocks on the door only to be told no your english.
Also after coming back from a night out the receptionist would screm ssshhhhhh at us even if we were not making any noise. Friends of ours were at the other side of the hotel and on one occasion were screamed at and one was reduced to tears.
However the pool was good and the food was excellent. we ate there regularly and got a take away pizza one night. The waiters/waitresses are very friendly.
All in all a very good hotel supplied a great holiday young people beware of the restrictions.
(additional notes.... their is a quite large hill....when opening taxi boots be careful your suitcase does not slide down it, however to prevent walking up/down it during the day there are steps to the right of the barbeque next to the pool taking you straight down to the strip and beach, however they are locked at 10.00pm.)"

Exactly as described, no complaints
"12 of us stayed there in late April (all male, mature "drinking" weekend break).
No complaints whatsoever, rooms were perfectly clean, spacious and well appointed. All have a balcony, 50% with pool/sea view so it's pot luck really. We booked 5 rooms so therefore had the opportunity of seeing different rooms on different floors, etc and there was nothing to choose between them. Sheets/towels changed everyday for three days and we were allowed a long lie in (till mid-day) after partying until the 5am before the cleaners came in. The staff were as good as gold.
The hotel is situated on the top of the hill right in the middle of the action area, about 1 minute to the main "strip" (down the back steps of the hotel) and the beach a further 100 yards. A drinkers paradise.
Magaluf is a bit of a hole though to be honest. All very much brits abroad catering for english breakfasts, socks and sandals, lilo's in shop doorways, fridge magnet heaven, etc. Don't expect one iota of culture here - the only reason to come here would be for a short sun and alcohol break. Two or Three Nights would be more than enough!
We counted 23 stag-do's and hen party's even at this time of year with lot's of leary party's of singles, etc. July/August must be horrendous!
To summarise, for £50 per night (for three persons!), I wouldnt hesitate in staying at this hotel again.
But as far as Magaluf is concerned - each to their own - but in my opinion, the resort's tired and it's appeal faltering. There are so many nicer places on Majorca to visit (Pollenca Town, Soller for instance) never mind the rest of the Med."

good location, clean and reasonably priced
"Hi, myself and 3 other guys have just got back from a midweek break and stayed at the Vista Sol, we all stayed in one appartment, bedroom had 2 comfy single beds, and the lounge had a comfy sofabed with a pull out single spare bed that may be seperated from the main sofa and moved away a few feet, the hotel was up a little hill, steep but little, ie we never got a taxi, n that' has to be small so don't be put off, location location, great, right next to the strip, well around the corner actually, just enough for the noise factor, I suppose it could bother you if you are old n tea total, but even then withe the windows n doors closed, hardly a sound except for the occasional whoop whoop from happy party stag n hens, I would take my family there no problem, very close to the beach, a very nice sandy beach I must say, in a large cove. Close by you have Eastenders where the barman will give you a good rate no comm or fee he gave us 1.24 so we emptied his till of euros, the early bird breakfast was great as was the allday breakfast, a little restraunt just above was [-] oops sorry verry [-], the main drag had lots of bars open for party goers, binge drinkers, lovely, the 21 club was fun, paddys bar, chaplins we all preferred not just because it was opposite kfc but we had some great laughs in there so we voted it our best night scene pub, although day time sessions were generally held out side alexs bar just over the road towards the beach, 100yd lower down we ate at crusoes bangers and mash and great scenery, all their food was good, and their beer. Not much else to say about Magaluff except it's great for parties, beach, sun and families, Vista sol was great let us borrow an iron room had a hairdrier, the shower was excellent, front desk helpfull n friendly, air con a bit slow, but hey it was clean and in a great location. hope you find this helpfull, kind regards Dave."

Loved Vista Sol
"Amazing, this hotel is the place to stay, it is so close to everywhere, it has steps at the back past the pool that takes you down on to the main strip, or the front door where it takes you to a few local bars and restaurants nearby, we loved the Eastenders bar, great food and great atmosphere. the main strip was amazing aswell. we went for a hen weekend and had such a ball. the hotel is so clean, no problems at all, everything was lovely about it, so if you are booked up to go then you have no worries what so ever. we were only there for 5 days and to be honest the weather was not the best as it was still early, but as it was a hen weekend it didnt bother us, we spent most our time in and out the bars. but whatever the occassion this hotel is the place for you."

Would definitely go back
"Just back yesterday from a friend's hen weekend in Magaluf where we stayed at the Vista Sol Apartments. Knowing Magaluf has a reputation as a party place I went expecting maybe not the best ever apartments and lots of noise but I was very wrong!
Most websites mention the apartments being at the top of a steep hill - we were a wide age ranging group, from 25 through to 43 and none of us found it particularly difficult. The location is very central - 2 minutes to the beach, 2 minutes to the strip and 2 minutes to Palma Nova. The rooms are spacious, well equipped, air conditioned and seemed to be sound proofed somehow as we had no problems sleeping.
The staff are friendly and efficient and there is a lifeguard at the poolside for the bulk of the day. A nice big pool with varying depths and also a paddling pool for children - there were a few families staying at these apartments. The pool is also secluded with no other apartments really looking over it.
There's also a huge supermarket in the basement of the hotel so you don't have to go far for shopping.
Although we were there for 4 nights I could have happily spent another few days and nights there."

lovely spacious accomodation
"We stayed here in May 2007 just before the Whit weeks holiday with our 2 young daughters and really loved the apartment. It was very clean, well equipped and spacious and maid service was 5 times per week which was great. The reception staff were superb and nothing was too much trouble for them. If there was any downside at all it was perhaps the location which is right on the strip and a nightmare to walk through if you don't like PR's trying to get you into their bar. If travelling with children it might be an idea to ask for an apartment on the front of the complex which is where we stayed and we had absolutely no noise from the surrounding bars. This looked out over Palma Nova and the bars were much quieter here. All in all very nice accomodation and fantastic location for the beach - only a two minute walk."

Clean friendly apartments
"Stayed here end of september 2005 for 10 days. Found apartments very clean and maid service 5 days a week. Got deal through Globespan for £270 for 10 days self catering and have to say very good value and flights were much better than expected.
Mixture of guests at apartments, group of 3 lads from scotland who embarassed the scottish name for 1st 2 days but think the whole pool cheered when bus came to take them home!
After this clientele were mixture of groups, couples, families etc. Also many German and Scandanavian guests but do not let this put you off as they are generally much more polite than the Brits.
Apartments are very central and just off the "Strip", this is good thru the day as 2 minute walk to the beach but at night you have to fight thru the "PR's" trying to get you into their pub/club etc.
Magaluf is great and great mixture of places to eat, we recommend "Boatyard" " Robinson Crusoe's" "Ness Bar" but the best restaraunt by far is one next to the Brittania Bar at other end of resort, unsure of the name (could be "La Pizzerie") but staff are class, food is outstanding and atmosphere is superb.
Best bar's are "Mano's" " Tartan Arms" and "Revolution" which is right at the steps to the apartments!
If not been to Magaluf before then you MUST go to "Pirate's" as amazing show and now been twice (although this year food wasn't near as good or as much as last year).
Overall would recommend apartments for people going Self Catering but next year we are pushing the boat out and going Half Board at Sol Jamaica possibly."

"5 girls, 3 boys all 18, went july 2010! good sized rooms and balcony. staff are nice although we did get told off a few times for being too noisy, and got made to go back to our room when we was in a friends!
it has steps at the back which leads straight out onto the strip, beware at night though as theres loads of prostitutes to the left of the gateway, my friend got beat up off a "pimp"
has a steep hill at the front but its alright!
overall, definitely a good place to stay and would definitely go back"
