A Positive stay after reading so many Negatives
"We have just returned from 4 nights at the hotel. We knew of the hotel and its location as we have previously stayed in our friend's apartment close by. We had a lovely time there and found every member of staff we came into contact with to be friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and spacious. We had lunch at the hotel a couple of days and the portions were plentiful. We had an evening meal - 5 courses - all of which were excellent. Breakfast has a wide variety of choices - the only grievance I have is that there is no option of breakfast in your room which you usually get in hotels of this class.
The hotel is quite isolated and quiet with regard to nightlife, but Port Adriano marina does have restaurants and is only a short stroll away; as are the couple of restaurants in the oposite direction to the marina towards Santa Ponsa.
We took advantage of the spa and had a massage - very reasonably priced (if you choose one of their offers rather than the ones on the printed brochure).
All in all our stay was very enjoyable and we will definitely be going back."

Not as Bad as they say!!!!!!
"We stayed at the hotel Port Adriano for five nights. A lovely hotel, nice food, quiet, and very clean... NO, it is not the Ritz Carlton (Dubai) or Annabelle(paphos), but it is ok for a relaxing break. Service wasn't fantastic, but not as bad as we were expecting after reading the earlier reviews. The hotel has a new general manager and they certainly seem to be moving in the right direction. The marina is small, with about seven or eight restaurants (Utopia, being the best by far....Wonderful food and service)."

"there were no recent reviews so we booked this hotel hoping things would have changed-they haven't.the hotel rooms are spacious,the views wonderful and the whole place is immaculate.the big but is the bar and restaurant prices are way too expensive.there are not many other places around to eat and drink so you have to go to santa ponsa or palma nova for more choice.we had a great time but would not go back"

End of season service?
"We stayed at Port Adriano for a couple of days and only found out on the last day that they were about to close the next day - we hope this explains the state of the service.
As described by earlier reviewers, it is a nice hotel in a pleasant location but the service was certainly not that of a 4 or 5 star hotel. Staff seemed to have no clue what the actual items on their menu meant, many were trying hard but this does not really help when you wish to obtain some info on what you are about to order.
The hotel management also did not think it necessary to advise guests of the fact that the indoor pool was going to be repaired, i.e. out of use.
While they offered worse than low season service, we were still paying normal rates which left us rather unhappy.
This could be a very nice spot, very different from the neighbouring resorts Magaluf and Palmanova which are very touristy and cater for different tastes - but the service needs improvement!
If you stay here, it is advisable to either have a rental car or be have a taxi budget, buses are very unreliable.
There is a great combined walking/cylcling path right in front of the hotel leading towards Magaluf-Palmanova and Palma."

Great location and Hotel but service is lacking
"My wife and I were the second time at Hotel Vista Port Adriano. It is still one of the nicest boutique hotels you can imagine. The hotel is build w/ a lot of marble inside, huge windows and very tastefully decorated. Rooms are spacious, tastefully appointed, w/ marble bathrooms, w/big balconies and all day sun and seaview on top of a cliff. Now here comes the BUT service is really not 5* (this time it was much worse than last time). There is enough staff during breakfast, even nice but not what you would expect from a 5*, from there on it is down hill, in the afternoon I had to get the bartender several times out of the kitchen, hardly anyone is servicing the pool area, during lunch I asked for mayonnaise when the waiter brought our food, I was nearly finished when I got it. We decided to have dinner only twice in the evening and service was between sloppy and OK (for a rest. not a hotel in that category). There is a new direcor and we hope service will dramatically improve. Would we return, yes, we still like the hotel and the area is great to drive to other nice parts of the island (puerto portals, port d'andratx, palma)...BUT we hope for much better service next time service."

Does not deserve it's 5 star rating
"Unfortunately I had already booked this hotel before reading any reviews and decided to continue with the booking rather than changing it! However, unfortunately, the previous review with a similar title is absolutely accurate!
It started when we arrived and were told that they were overbooked (although my booking had been made 2 months in advance) and that we would have to go to another hotel for a couple of nights. The attitude was very much "tough" and "it's not our problem!" (I have to add that Expedia acted very efficiently and sorted this out.)
The rooms are spacious and the view is absolutely fantastic but things need some loving care. The umbrellas round the pool are tatty, the light in the shower didn't work, the face mirror in the bathroom was hanging off the wall, the cushions on the sofas and chairs in the outside eating area were stained and there is a distinct shortage of staff whereby you wait for the receptionist to be free to come and make you a coffee!
There is a shortage of the personal service you expect from a 5 star hotel, the maid service is hit and miss, the sheets didn't get changed that often in our 10 days there, there's no frills (no flowers in the room, newspapers, weather forecasts, fruit or anything on arrival, handtowels in the public bathrooms etc, etc).
One final thing to beware of, they advertise that buffet breakfast is complimentary - but it isn't and it is pretty expensive for what it is!"

Does not deserve 5 star rating
"Port Adriano Marina Golf and Spa. The building, rooms and setting of this hotel cannot be faulted. However, the service and food was absolutely apalling. The quality of the food was dreadful, gristly steak, poorly presented and a limited menu. We waited 40 minutes for a ham sandwich one lunchtime when it wasn't particularly busy. There were insufficient sunbeds and sun umbrellas on the sun terrace which had bird droppings all over it. A request for a sun umbrella was met with a shrug of the shoulders and a' No more'. Unwashed tables just had linen tablecloths placed over them. Definatley does not deserve its 5 star rating."

Not worth the cost..disappointing (unfortunately)
"If you want a nice quality, spacious room and sheltered balcony you have it, as well as excellent maid service in the mornings (do not expect a turn down service in the evening though). The hotel is immaculately clean, modern bright and spacious. That is itself gives "above average" status - hoever from this point it stops! Service is deadful (especially given the five * status). Apart from breakfast, staff are thin on the ground to say the least ,and this caused much exasperation with customers when we were there. The barman is on his own, is friendly enough, (but clueless and takes ages to serve). If you order food or drinks on the terrace be prepared for a very long wait which will result in hot food being cold and even basic salads taking eons to arrive. Staff spend a lot of time looking sad and apologising, but service remains awful, and to be honest given the prices (Â£5 for an orange juice) is not acceptable. This ongoing situation stopped us ever booking dinner there. In the evening the hotel is empty, and lacks any atmosphere, the prices and lack of service discourage customers to stay, and the hotel pianist plays so loud in the foyer it is painful! The hotel itself is situated in an area being developed so there is no night life apart from a few restaurants on the marina (be prepared for a steep walk up and down the hill to them). El faro is the best for quality and price. There is nothing for children whatsoever. This is a good base for a couple to have totel rest for a week, but there is definately better service and value elsewhere. My advice.... keep looking........"

Great view - but service is not 5*
"I stayed at the hotel with a group of people. They enjoyed the hotel very much. The view is really nice - even though the beach is only reachable via the street which is a kind of unconvinient.
Rooms are large and very comfortable - all facing the sea, all having a nice balcony.
Breakfast is nice - Dinner is ok. I would not go there if not necessary - there are so many nice dining opportuinities wihich serve certainly a better food for a better price.
Dining at Port Adriano itself was not such a big treat either - even though the location is also very nice (I tried Utopia, which has great viwes but mediocre food. Then there is a fish restaurant further down - nice terrace but fish was very expensive.)
The fitness room and spa area is exceptional for this size of a hotel.
Service is slow and sometimes not very skilled - the service at the pool was way below average. The bar was not so good either. We told the management that we would come with a group of 75 people and the caipirinha was out after 6 or 7 dirnks. I do not understand that. The cocktails were not to good but acceptable.
First time I went there we had to wait very long for check in - not because of many people there but they did get it worked out.
Hotel director is a very nice guy.
Golf courses are in close distance.
If you like to be away from the crowd, like e nice scenic pool and large and comfy rooms- that is the place. Look out for some good rates - the rates you will get from the hote itself are way to high."

"This hotel was spectacular. We went in early July and the food, service and rooms were great. In additon, the pool and view of the sea were breathtaking. The only downside is that it is somewhat expensive, but worth it in our opinion. We recommend it as a relaxing and very enjoyable place to unwind on Mallorca."
