H10 Punta Negra Boutique Hotel
10 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
H10 Punta Negra, the location for us was just what we were looking for, a hotel located right on the edge looking over Palma nova bay, yet far enough to be away from any where, it was so quite and and relaxing. I feel you need a car if you want to explore places, especially at night. We had a car and used the Hotel as base which to explore the whole island. Your just 10/15 minutes form any of the main towns Palma, Palma Nova, porta patals and so on,(in a car)
Hotel. The staff were great, very pleasant and welcoming, location of the hotels seemed as if you were on an island with to good size swimming pools, three tiny beaches, Rooms Ok, had every thing you needed. Breakfast. pretty good continental food. Overall the hotel was great. we wood certinally go again and stay in the bungalows.
We love Majorca"

Something For the Weekend - oooh it suited us!!!!
"Something to do for the Weekend - Just what the doctor ordered....
Having stayed at many H10 hotels over the years, its always a pleasure to visit another one, especially one that you have not been to before. So read on and I will tell you more !!
Reception - Very very civilised , efficient & pleasant, they reception staff make you so welcome & and even offer you a glass of Cava (chilled of course) Check in is done on a one to one basis so the reception clerk gives you her or his undivided attention. they explain all about the hotel in great detail with pride and your hooked...
Our Room ( Bungalow) - WOW,,,,, Absolutley FANTASTIC... Had a separate lounge with TV,minibar etc and yes 2 aircon units. The queen size bed was wonderful, plenty of towels a great power shower and free beauty products. Pool towels are also free for all guests. But the view from the balconey was the BEEZ NEEZ a perfect settting for sipping that evening cocktail.
Pool area & Bar - Just wonderful, the sundbeds are some of the best that i have ever used are so confortable. Pool area has plenti of beds and unbrellas. They have about 10 tables by the pool area for that bit of "Alfresco Lunch or the early evening cocktail" With some huge umbrellas to protect you from the sun if you have had enough. The Choice of food and drinks that are availaible is superb and could not be any better, prices are pretty good value as well. There is a spa, had a look and it looks fantastic but with the weather being so good we just chilled by the pool. The small beach by the hotel is private and ideal for sharing intimate moments !!!
Main Restaurant - Al La Carte - We stayed on half Board but you get the benefit of Al la carte dining, The selection and presentation of the food was totally awesome and outstanding, to many nice things to list You have got to go and try it for yourself then you will undertand what I mean. All the restaurant staff are so pleasant and attentive.
Overall - Its it difficult to sum up what a fantastic weekend we had. The Director of the Hotel got his team well trained and focused so much so that nothing is a problem, they bend over back wards to do anything for you & to make your stay just like ours wonderful. Dont take my word for it, book a weekend or a week there and see for youself.
We will go back over the coming months and cannot thank all the staff enough for making our weekend so enjoyable.
So if you have a weekend spare book yourself cheap flight and the hotel direct, you will not be disappointed I can assure you.

"Punta Negra is outdated. Time moves on but Punta Negraâs owners havenât kept pace. We visited this hotel when it was under the original ownership over 30 years ago. Then we used it for a winter getaway. Projecting into the sea on to top of a rocky promontory on this very beautiful Mallorcan coast Punta Negra is unique.
This is not a four star resort to me. We were in the Penedes building which, judging from the style, must have been added in the late 1970s. It is characterless. The spacious building had âCorned Beefâ coloured marble everywhere and stained pink carpets lead to the bedrooms with âsafeâ coloured decor. Our room had a huge steamed up double glazed window, defeating the spectacular sea view. There was no ventilation in the bathroom and the hot water was non-existent at crucial times. There was an illogical supply of soaps and the door wouldnât shut without a good shouldering. The shower was in the bath with a shudderingly creepy curtain. In the bedroom the soft furnishing was tired and the beds like the rest of the furniture were cheap and nasty. My wife missed having a full-length mirror!
The whole thing seemed dreary.
We had one evening meal and then âthrew in the towelâ. The chicken soup was like water. The Sea Bass (Lubina) main course comprised two unfresh, very small fillets of dried overcooked fish, on top of a disc of diced overcooked mixed veg, of the tinned variety. The entire meal had had a tastectomy. The menu did not change and seemed to have been that way since the last century. Is there a chef? The price very high but one euro would have been.
Like the rest of the world the neighbours are security conscious with Security Guard signs at locked gates. Not Punta Negra though with open doors leading directly in from the pavement at all hours and no sight of a guard at any time â very trusting!
This is a hotel, which seems to be running by the grace of the good friendly staff, in neutral gear. Itâs flat lining. The Manager is asleep or inadequate for 21st Century hotel direction.
Itâs very sad that Punta Negra is being neglected.
With the perfect location, tranquillity and lovely grounds this place should be outstanding."

Well kept secret
"What a lovely hotel if you want to recharge the batteries. The only downside for some could be it's remoteness. There isn't anything around it in terms of bars or clubs. If you're looking for the bright lights and partying you'll have to get a taxi (or walk) to Palma Nova. Personally. I was happy to spend my evenings here enjoying excellent food and wine and watching the sun go down over the Med. Bliss.
This is the third hotel I've booked from a website called 'Reis de Mallorca' and all have been outstanding. The website is a collection of around 20 hotels 'of character' in Mallorca."

Perfect little hotel
"We went to Mallorca completely unsure what we would find and ended up in a beautiful hotel with perfect beaches, warm seas and great access to a fantastic, picturesque island! The location is perfect for travelling around the island's west and north coasts and Palma itself is only a short trip by bus (although we did have trouble finding the bus back again!). The hotel itself was lovely with a nice pool area, great breakfast, nice dinners (though obviously more expensive than similar fair in Palma), and helpful staff. The room we stayed in was number 214 in the old section with a perfect sea view of the rising sun. It was quiet and restful, the perfect place for a romantic break!"

little bit of heaven
"stayed here with husband for our anniversary in october the hotel was lovely
We stayed in the new part , rooms spotless and spacious and we had a great view overlooking the bay and could hear the sea laping the shores all day and night.
The private beach was fantastic, we had great weather for 4 days and just lazed on the beach after a a buffet breakfast with every kind of food and free cava and enjoyed the peace and quiet cant wait to go back."

Only gets better and better and better!!!
"Having spent ten days in the Punta Negra with my 20 year old son and girlfriend, I initially was a little worried that the AGE GROUP of clients would not be suitable.
However since the hotel has been taken over by the H 10 hotels group ,it had indeed just gone from strength to strength(in spite of some bar staff feeling that the clients of today are NOT hte class of yesteryear !) Things change, and so has the Punta Negra,BUT all for the better.
Under the watchful eye of director Alfreda and his amazing team, this is ondeed a five star resort, although officially a FOUR star rateing, BUT remember IF a property decides to keep at four stars in Spain then the IVA (rax) is onlt 7 % on the overall bill and NOT 17.5% related to five star properties...and this, over a longer period does add up.
The PUNTA NEGRA, over the years appears to have become so much closer to activities, simply because of the new roads and the expansion of new properties, five star hotels and really only a few minutes from Palma Nova, thus offering the attraction of being locatecd in the peace and traquility of this hidaway, YET...only minutes from the nightlife of the resorts nearby not to mention the closeness of Palma city itself.
Recently H 10 have added an extention, joined by a walkway to the new section. Personally I was not attreactedto this but my Son and his girlfriend absolutly adored it as they were located in one of the suites(basically a small villa) where the decotation is more mainstream, offering them a lovley lounge, large sitting room, large private garden area a beautiful new bathroom and a seperate shower room.
I personally requested a room in the origional Hotel raised just a few feet over the pool , and, in spite of the bathrooms needing renewed(my only low point) the positioning is amazinf ,and literally a few seconds in the morning to the sum beds or the pool breakfast area. There is also a more traditional full breakfast(buffet and waiter service) on the first floor.
One can choose to eat breakfast beside the pool, or under the shades of the trees ot in fact in one of the secluded corners of the area in wicker chairs.
In spite of a number of Germans being there ,there is never ant rush for sun beds as the grounds are spaced around the hotel and some guests decide to spend some of their time of the two cmall beaches within the grounds.
The clientel in my opinion are more seasoned travellers that respect the damgers of the sun as opposed to many Britts who feel they must turn into lobsters on day one.......
Although gthere is no kids cluc, any children that were there appearred to be very content to be in the pool or listen to the painest and violinest in the evenings
Dinner is served in a choice of one of two restaurants, one totally outside overlooking the sea, the other overlooking the pool ,which ,in the winter months transfers to inside where one can relax by the large stone open log fire on colder nights.
The attantion of the management and the reservation staff is not only personal but the most efficient I have encountered for some time. Nortinh is too much trouble and they even go to the troubly of popping out to get a guest any newspaper they may require as the hotel does not offer an overpriced shop on site.
This is a property to relax and unwind in YET one is able to easly escape, although the hours just seem to flow before it is again time to retire to bed in the quietness of this amazing hotel, where nothing is too much for anyone at any time.
I was unfortunate to fall in the hall, (carrying goods) and required a doctor and stitches, The concern of the staff was absolutly amazing and the follow up after the clinic was indeed totally unexcected .
What more can one say about this hotel ,and while it is now catering for a younger clientel, it is just getting better. There is no dress code BUT the understandinngof dressing with distintation is indeed the order of the day. Even in the open air five star dining room in the evenings trilored or three quarter length shorts are accepted without question.
I have had the misfortune to have been in some all inclusive resorts who actually forbid this BUT then again the Punta Negra cliental are NOT paradeing around in union jack beachware....and I suppose that's the differance....horses for courses.
Evenings are quiet with piana and violin a few nights a week OR pop into the car or taxi it to the bright lights of Palma ,Magaluff ,or Palma nova...the choice is yours.
While my son and his girlfriend are only 20 years old, they were totally at home here and itend to return on their own later in the year for a few days.
Well done Punta Negra, for going alond with the times but still keeping the old world hotel charm that you have been so famous for ,over the last fourty years. Indeed a rare thing today."

A quiet holiday at Punta Negra Majorca
"This hotel is ideal if you are looking for a very quiet and relaxing holiday with none of the usual "package holiday hotel" traits. There is no evening entertainment for example and guests, we found, were mainly German or Spanish. The hotel itself is set in gardens with many trees and plenty of shade. There is almost more shade than sun in the gardens, but plenty of sun was found by the pool. There are two small coves for swimming in the sea, one stoney, one sandy. Both were usually quiet, but at the weekends became crowded.
The hotel is approx 15 minute walk from the nearest supermarket and a 25 minute amble to the outskirts of Palma Nova. We liked the fact that we had peace and quiet at the hotel but could walk into the noiser resort if we wanted. The rooms were very clean and comfortable but a touch outdated. However, there was everything in the room you would need.
All in all our 10 day stay here was the most relaxing stay in Majorca we have ever had and we would recommend this hotel without a doubt if the main objective of your holiday is to do nothing in a quiet environment!"

Relax and Revatalise at the Punta Negra
"The Punta Negra is a secret treasure, quiet and secluded, yet only twenty minutes away by taxi from the centre of Palma. It combines all the comforts of a traditional hotel with every modern facility, including an Internet corner, where guest can keep in touch with home and the outside world, but only if they really want to. The hotel has been developed and expanded in sympathy with its natural environmental surroundings. It maintains its imposing position on a rocky headland and it is quite possible for guests to lose themselves among the rocks or in a sandy cove while they relax in peace with that long promised book.
Breakfast is a real treat at the Punta Negra with the best possible selection of food. Everything that any guest of any nationality could possibly want or imagine is there.
The staff are wonderful, efficient and professional, whether in the restaurants, by the pool or in reception. They are all very good at what they do.
For anyone who wants peace and quiet, rest and relaxation in a wonderful atmosphere with beautiful views and comfortable surroundings, then the Punta Negra is the place to be. I cannot wait to go back."

Great for relaxing + spoiling yourself, friendly staff + lovely food.
"We spent 4 nights at the Punta Negra at the end of April 05. The bus from Palma takes you to the top of the road (Roundabout No. 4, look out for the big number in the centre of the roundabout), the taxi from Palma costs about 17 euros.
The hotel has big gardens, 2 outdoor pools, 1 indoor pool + 2 small sheltered beaches with crystal waters. The room was very generously proportioned with its own balcony + large bathroom. The breakfast buffet offered a vast variety of foods of great quality and dinner in the hotel was very good indeed (try the paella, the best I've ever had). Staff are very friendly + helpful.
The hotel is ideal for lounging around by the pools or on the small beaches, sitting on the rocky outcrop above the beaches or sipping drinks on the restaurant terrace. I'd thouroughly recommend it for a chill-out holiday."
