Just booked to go back in June 2014
"First impressions were very good, beautiful gardens very well maintained, our accommodation over looked the road but it was quiet clean and spacious. The food was fantastic with a different theme each night, Chinese, fish night, Spanish, and over 25 puddings one night. all with help yourself unlimited wine beer or juice. The entertainment was good but it was October so I presume it was less than summer months, drinks in the bars were good with cocktails available all day and evening until 11pm. we enjoyed it so much we have just booked to go back this June 2014 "

brilliant for kids
"we stayed for one week 12th oct - 19th, food was excellent good selection and staff in resturant brilliant, snacks inbetween at pool bar, only let down no nibbles like crisps, there is an onsite shop but expensive, entertainment for kids in night brilliant bit boring for adults, all day activities for kids in day time too, kids pool is fab only let down is its freezing my daughters lips were blue by the time she finished playing in there and the tiled floor around the pool very slippery, bit dissapointed with our room we were facing a main road, and i didnt find it very clean stunk of bleach and beds very uncomfortable, overall a spacious apartment, good, quick service at bar although everything is watered down u can drink all day and night and wont get drunk, every evening they have sellers outside sports bar selling toys etc very expensive and not good quality, beach is 10min walk very lovely with clear blue sea we went here most days 3 euro for sun lounger all day, all shops sell the same stuff just at different prices.
overall weather was lovely for 4 days of the holiday came back a lovely colour i would go here again, TIP- to get a sun lounger by kids pool get there very early, it is expensive to shop outside of hotel although strangely ciggerettes and cans of lager are cheap"

Very dissapointed with the quality of food
"Horrid all inclusive, food poor and a bit the samey, repeated twice a week, bland, overcooked, we had to eat out end expend a fortune. Rooms damp and must. Hotel updated. Location either not good, about 20 minutes walk to the beach. Children entertainment a bit better. The only good thing about this holidays was the beach. can Picaford baech is very clean and beautiful. "

Never Again, literally!
"We arrived late at 9.10pm, due to a delayed flight (Spanair, from Southampton) to find that the restaurant was closed. However we were told that some food had been left for us. This consisted of ham, cheese, some salad and bread rolls. Not a good start to an all inclusive holiday, but we accept that the delay was not the hotels fault. I'll summarize the holiday from this point:
Transfers: Booster seat provided at the airport for our 4 year old: No booster seat 'seat belt adjuster' as required by Spanish law was provided.
Return journey to Palma: No booster seat provided at all. Our 4 year old was forced to sit on a normal seat in a Transit mini bus. Another infringement of Spanish law.
(this holiday was booked via the First Choice website).
First Choice responded to this is by letter: "The coached that we use are booked through a third party and so we aren't always aware of this. Thank you for letting us know about this as I can pass this information on to our Holiday Experience Team for them to look into".
Draw your own conclusions..... but to me it is quite clear they blame third parties for their shortcomings, despite our contract being with them. Think carefully about booking with these clowns, it might cost you your child's life.
Staff: Friendly, helpful and very hardworking, although evasive when complaining to.
Reps: As above, and available on site all day.
Cleanliness: One of the cleanest places we have ever stayed, the resort really is spotless. Apart from the pool area, more of which later.
Room: This was the main concern for us, as we have a 4 year old who likes to climb. We were on the 3rd floor, so it had a balcony with two easily accessible sliding doors. Although they are fitted with basic locks, they are easy for a child to open and ours demonstrated this by doing exactly that. As soon as I discovered this I went to the hotel reception to be told some 'guff' about fire regulations meaning that locks couldn't be fitted. To add to this, our daughter then opened the main door, meaning she could potentially walk out of the apartment during the night, and if she felt like doing so totter off to the pool. The only option to prevent your little one flying off a balcony is to upgrade to a 'premium' room (ground floor with garden area & washing machine) which of course costs more - I think 15 Euros a day. We just barricaded the doors at night with the room furniture. The rooms have a fridge, kettle, microwave, two ring electric hob and plenty of plates & crockery. The TV will receive CBBC, Cbeebies, BBC3, Sky News, CNN and a few Spanish channels. However, unless you shift the kids beds into the main bedroom you wont get to see it! The rooms are generally spotless if a little tired and could do with a bit of a revamp. As I said though, the main concern was the lack of effective locks on the doors which led to a fairly unrelaxed nights sleep throughout the two weeks we were there. A fairly fundamental safety thing which should not be an issue, but sadly is.
Food: We had read varying reports on this but decided to go all inclusive anyway and hope for the best. All I can say is that the food was repetitive, bland and overcooked in the main but it you like quantity instead of quality then you'll be well catered for. We tried the poolside snack bar burgers once or twice and they were foul(I can only assume they were made from cow droppings), although the chips and Pizza are acceptable if thats what you travel thousands of miles to eat on holiday.
On All Inclusive holidays, you can eat at the Tex-Mex/Caribbean and Italian once each per week. We tried the Tex-Mex once, and didn't bother turning up for our Italian due to having bland overcooked and inedible food, just like that in the main buffet restaurant. The Caribbean grill was nowhere to be seen, despite it being advertized and clearly an 'entitlement' as shown on our tickets. In conclusion, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food and ate out much of the time after we became ill shortly after arrival because of this. Obviously, this added extra expense to an already expensive holiday.
Pools: There are three pools, the main pool (1.5 metres deep), splash pool and adventure pool. The main pool is actually two circular pools joined together and bisected by a wooden footbridge. I have read here that the water was freezing, but found that it was very pleasant (maybe those that found it cold did so because they went before the sun could warm it up?) The splash pool is knee deep, approx 12 feet across and covered with a large parasol, this is where our 4 year old spent most of her time. The adventure pool is also nice, shallow and with plenty to keep your youngsters happy. The downside to this though is the fact that the sun loungers are padlocked during the night. To get one, under a parasol you will need to get up early and be waiting by the pool of your choice by 7.00am to stake your claim. By 8.00am all of the prime spots will be taken by blue towels catching the early morning sunshine. If you are not bothered with the need for a bit of shade and dont mind not being able to see your youngster, then there are plenty of sun loungers available so you could perhaps sun bathe on the grassy areas instead. The larger pool has two lifeguards watching over it all through the day, which is reassuring.
Entertainment: Very little for adults (unless you like water volleyball or bingo). The kids clubs are excellent, and the reps work extremely hard. No complaints there. The evening entertainment is obviously geared towards the kids too, and you will probably find yourself paying an extortionate 10 Euros for a CD of the songs that you will hear over and over again throughout the day.
Good points: Cleanliness, friendliness, hotel grounds layout, nice pools (although filled with 'competitive dads' at times, swearing and acting in a generally unsuitable manner), kids clubs, rep availability - unless you want to complain.
Bad points: Food quality (disgusting), apartment safety (frightening), safe charges (33 Euros for two weeks), vending machines (scattered all over the place - overpriced and dont always work, although they will always take your money) "

"just back from a great holiday with my husband and 2 children aged 12 and 10.viva village is perfect for families, room is very spacious and the 2 showers makes a massive difference, place is very clean and staff are very friendly, pool big enough to accomodate every shape of lilo available, kids club was excellent, the kids club team are so enthusiastic, wish l had their energy,l would say it's perfect for families with children up to 12,at nightwe hardly saw our 2 till it was time to go back to the room and it was safe enough for them to run around the complex, only downside for me was the beds were really uncomfortable,l have come home with a really sore back which l think was the bed and you had to be down at 8am to get a bed by the pool,we had a pool view and we would see people sitting waiting from 7.30am to get their spot but that happens in most places, location was ok, bit of a walk down to beach, maybe a problem with little ones.have to recommend the horse riding along the beach for any horse lovers,it's about a 10 minute walk but it is definately worth it, my daughter and l went for an hours ride, lots of trotting and a gallop, really enjoyable."

You must go, fantastic
"Just got back from a 2 week holiday all inclusive 25/07/11 and oh my god!!!!!!
brilliant, can not fault this place at all.
The hotel room is very spaces with big balcany and seperate bath and big shower, it is lovely and clean, the grounds around the hotel are constantly being cleaned, every morning before breakfast you see the gardners clipping the bushes , the cleaners on machines cleaning the floor tiles and maids sweeping the pool area is cleaned every morning and evening.
The food is just excellent, so much choice and we eat so much breakfast lunch and dinner... MMmmmm
The is a pool bar and resturant that you can keep going up to get snacks ice creams drinks, the kids loved it and didn't want to come hom my children are 9 and 3, my 9 year old loved the pool and the kids clubs which where great, the staff work so hard and long hours and are brilliant with the kids, my youngest didn't want to go in the clubs which was a shame as the can go in them upto 2-3 times through the day and night for 1:30-2hr at a time, so the peace we would of had if they were both in would have been nice for us to relax.
But the is no fault in this place and the amount of people you talk to have been 2-3 times. Thi swas our first time and would definitely go back.
If any of the staff are reading this a big thank you as you really do work hard and deserve a massive praise for all your efforts THANK YOU"

First time away and an excellent time had by all
"This was our first package holiday with our two kids aged 3 and 7. We had a fab time. The pools were great and lovely and warm but this was probably due to the good weather.
The apartments were very spacious and clean but the furniture a bit dated. There was a maid service 5 days week which was a bonus too.
The staff were excellent, hard working and polite. The entertainment staff were also very hard working and very good at their job.
The cleanliness was excellent. There was always someone around emptying bins, cleaning up etc.
The food was ok too. Having read previous reviews I was not sure what to expect. Ok, it is not gourmet food but there was plenty of choice at all meal times and to be honest with two young kids gone are the days of sitting down to a long romantice meal. We were usually in and out within 30 mins for a meal which I expect we would have paid in excess of 50 euros outside the village.
All in all an excellent holiday."

If you have kids, perfect!
"Just back and suffering the holiday blues after a great week at the Holiday Village in Majorca. We previously went to the on in the Costa Del Sol, which was also good but the one in Majorca has better pools and also much better entertainment. Would be hell there however if you dont have children, but if you do (especially under 10s) we really recommend it. The chocolate party is a must but send them on dark coloured clothing!

"we stayed at holiday village for 2 weeks it was ok nice place to stay and great with kids the only thing that put us off in the village was it was to easy for people to walk in day or night the one night someone got in and was walking around by the kids and the reps told the people to look out for the kids you could get in though the back or the nursey though a gate left open all day and a little gate at the top by kids club "

Great for families with young children
"We have 2 children under 4 and have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Holiday Village and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Rooms are clean, bathroom good size with bath/shower plus a separate shower. There is a lift too.
The restaurant is very well managed. A busy restaurant, but food is varied with fresh scramled eggs/pancakes on a morning, fresh omlettes at lunch time, and a choice of carvery type meat/fish etc evening - the chocolate marble cake is v nice! wine/beer and soft drinks on tap - water is bottled :-)
Entertainment is varied - the staff work very hard to entertain the kids, each evening there is bingo and dancing/quizzes with a more adult theme entertainment at 10pm.
The pool is great - although cold at this time of year. We made use of the indoor pool, which although small is great for the kids learning to swim.
Beach is approx 10min walk away - the sea is shallow enough on entry for the youngsters, and slightly warmer than the hotel pool!
Overall a great holiday, I would go again, but possibly later in the year as the weather wasn't very good in April/May"
