"This was nice, nice hotel in lovely surroundings with excellent staff. All seemed positive, the evening entertainment was patchy but the noise was the real issue. We had to be moved to a more substantially built part of the hotel as the noise between rooms travelled easily.

The entertainment noise was problematic and could not be escaped even in our new room with the all doors shut, it could even be easily heard over the TV's. These seemed to have volume limiters on which was interesting - presumably because of the noise travelling issue.

I would like to say I liked this holiday, much was excellent. The hotel staff were fantastic and tried so hard to please. The noise though would prevent me from ever returning to this hotel which is truly sad.

"The hotel is beautifully decorated and well looked after. The main age group of guests is 50+ with a few in their 30's. It is set in a quiet location with stunning views of the bay and cliffs. The food was of good quality if not variety on a theme. The staff were friendly and eager to help.

We hired a car with a local business and found them good priced and excellent service.

For the young people it is a good base to go from. We went out to other towns at night, for a more upbeat atmosphere without it constantly being in your face.

For people who want to stay hotel based it is ideal as you are well catered for and you are guaranteed a good nights sleep as entertainment finishes at 11pm.

"Playa Mar - Mallorcan for fantastic holiday! Husb & I took our very stroppy 16yr old son on our first ever package tour and wow did we have one fantastic week!

Hotel - 4* through & through - other reviewer doubted if any room had a sea view and we had a panoramic vista of the whole Pollensa bay! OK the kitchen area was small but had all we needed - hotplates, toaster, microwave, fridge & corkscrew...as well as a host of other unused utensils. Room immaculately clean with pristine bedding & towels. Air conditioning was an added bonus.

Pools great.

As for entertainment - if people don’t want organised entertainment then why the heck do they choose to go to a 'family-fun' hotel??? Our 16 yr old is one mighty stroppy teenager when applies his mind to it but even he couldn’t find a fault with either the hotel or resort.

Granted there aren’t any lager-louts staggering along, bottle glued to hand. or fish & chip shops with their plethora of greasy papers & trodden on food outside the doorways----but if that’s what you miss then make Magalluf your next stop.

The town is a 20min walk along the pine-walk but what better way to work up an appetite?? Its one beautiful stroll past some magnificent villas and apartments - how the other half live! Once in town the choice of where to eat is almost too much.....Joker cafe on the sea front is unbelievably good value for money and desserts to die for!

We thought we’d have a package beach-type holiday as we thought it would be our last with our son - before he discovers the delights of Magaluf's chippies with his mates next year....but we’ve already booked to go back to Playa Mar later this year and again next Spring....and wouldn’t be surprised to be there this time next year as well.

All in all a fantastic hotel and resort!

PS....the military base is a tiny area where the sea planes land to fill up with water to fight forest fires....a spectacle in itself!

"This hotel is ideal for couples and groups without children. The food was excellent, rooms excellent and hotel staff are the most courteous and polite I have ever come across in Europe.

We liked it so much we have booked again for next year which is a first for us as we usually like to try different countries/resorts/hotels etc.

The evening entertainment was centred around the pool area but most evenings finished about 11.30 which was ideal if you fancied an early night.

Some of the entertainment was monotonous but the main bugbear was the early morning rush for sunbeds! I don’t know why as there were plenty to go around!

I was very impressed with this hotel."

"Camp de Mar is a very quiet resort with only a few bars and restaurants. It is ideal for getting away from it all.

The hotel Playa was very clean and the food was excellent. However there was not a lot of entertainment. If you wanted to go to another resort, taxis were available outside the hotel and fares were quite reasonable.

I would recommend this holiday and hotel. It was excellent value for money."
