"A super hotel that has greatly benefitted from its recent refurb. The rooms were very well furnished and the bathroom was excellent with bath, shower , bidet and lots of space. Rooms were cleaned every day with clean towels if you left used ones in the bath. We had room 334 overlooking the front of the hotel with the bonus of a sea view .It just had morning sun so it was cool in the afternoon and evening. The food choice was excellent and tables were reset after each use with fresh white table linen and napkins. Consuela and the rest of the dining room staff were very efficient and helpful. There were plenty of sun beds available round the large pool area and lots of shady spots if you wanted them. A flat screen t v had BBC and itv channels if you wanted an early night! I holidayed with my niece as she needed a relaxing break and this certainly was. If you wanted there was in house entertainment , various bars as well as a nearby night club. I would not hesitate to bring children here as there were mini clubs as well as a play area and baby pool. The beach is a short walk away though hire of an umbrella and 2 beds was â¬15 a day! Lots of space on the sand though! I will certainly be returning!"

"This was somewhere I went every year for the last 7 years,it is now different ownership and has gone down heavily in my estimation. This is a 3 star trying to be a 5 star with no changes except how they are conning us out of more money, they are asking for 11 euros per person per day which has to be taken for full stay for a small section of pool which is just cordoned off with a piece of rope and is right next to children's play area, you get 2 free drinks a reserved table for dinner and a towel.considering it's all inclusive you get free drinks anyway ,for the sun beds they are a disgrace compared to non gold customers. Now for the meals for a full fortnight I did not have a warm meal everything from buffet (which was supposed to be hot) was stone cold and all meats were like the soles of my shoe, back to pool children and adults were not allowed lilo's in pool, and most of the time children were put out of pool for animators to organize water polo or exercises . This pool is supposed to be enjoyed anytime you want to go in. Sun beds are padlocked so you have to queue for a bed if your not up at 7a.m you have no chance of a bed. To me that is not a fun holiday that I normally have at the Samoa hotel they only good point of holiday is the reception staff and the waiters who have been there for years and they are still as nice
Think they need to refurbish all rooms instead of giving is a touch of white emulsion paint"

OVERBOOKING AT THIS HOTEL
"This hotel regularly over books and sends tourists to other hotel. Book at your own risk...no good calling them directly to check if all is ok as they don't tell you the truth until you are there after a long trip."

"Do not book this hotel as you risk being turned away on arrival for overbooking. In my stay at alternative accomodation I met many people that had the same problem. This seems to be a common practice...not a genuine mistake."

Value for money holiday
"My wife and I have been going to this hotel for a few years now and have always enjoyed our stays there. The staff are friendly and the hotel is clean, the location has one of the best beaches in Mallorca. Some times the food is a little bit repetitive but you can always find something to eat so if you leave the table hungry it's your own fault. I guess some people expect the Savoy for a few hundred pounds.
As to the wasps nests seen by one traveller outside the entrance to the bar these are in actual fact swallows nests and have been there for a very long time.
I would say that if you are looking for a holiday with discos and loads of bars etc. this is probably not the resort for you. "

One of the better ones
"We have just come back from a very nice holiday at the Samoa we spent 10 days there, the Hotel was very clean, staff brilliant, food good despite some of the reviews there was always plenty to eat, fresh vegetables eg. broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, peas, sweetcorn, lots of fresh fruit, fresh grilled meats & fish, pasta, salads & desserts, if anyone could'nt find anything to eat then they are extremely fussy! We even got a goodie bag for breakfast as we were picked up early morning. The only thing we found tedious was the transfers, two hours & forty minutes to get there, two hours on the return journey!had we known we may have taken alternative transport. The beach was only 3 minutes away,& a lovely walk along the clifftop, shops & bars etc oppisite the hotel, entertainment every night & the animation team deserve a medal too. We were not unhappy with our holiday at all. "

all you hear is true
"we stayed at the hotel a few weeks ago i have to say it was poor we have stayed at poor hotels in the past and this is one of them the rooms where okay but in the bathroom is a small white hatch and this opens to a drop with pipes inside and the room next door can open there hatch and you can see the other room in there bathroom
i did feel for the man who fixs the slot machines all the children where taking money of him and he did not know
my son meet a holiday love but never found out her name so it is good for teenagers but the shows at night a basic sex shows with rude dances and on the first night they made all the children get wet in the pool not good for saving cloths"

"Stayed at Hotel Samoa early July 2011. 8 of us with ages ranging from 16 to 56.
The hotel was lovely, the staff very friendly and hardworking. We enjoyed the food most days but found that the teenagers with us were not quite as impressed - too fussy! The rooms very nice but basic which is exactly as we expected as we haden't paid for top class luxury. The rooms were cleaned every day and clean towels provided.
The beach was a few minutes walk if you use the gate leading from the side of the pool to the rear gateway.
I agree with the reviews which say there is nothing much in the local area - there isn't, but the bus stop is right outside the hotel and the buses run frequently, with timetables clearly displayed at the bus stops or available at the hotel recep.
There are shops and bars just across the road from the hotel but they are the usual shops selling flip-flops, sandals and lilo's.
I really can't say many negative things about the hotel, except they don't have wi-fi, although they do have 3 computers for internet access. The teenagers were very dissapointed that there was no wi-fi as there was not enough for them to do. Oh! I agree with the comments about the entertainment, it is rubbish - we didn't listen to it - played cards round the poolside instead.
We found it a bit strange that by about 12:05am they turned ALL the lights off to the pool area, so anyone sitting outside at that time had to walk in the darkness to the hotel doorways. It was not that bad you just had to be aware of the lights going out.
The air conditioning and TV remote controls are available from reception are available from reception with adeposit of 10 euros which is refunded at the end of the holiday.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Samoa and would go again to the hotel sometime in the future but definately not with moaning teenagers.
