Great choice for a weekend
"Great choice for a weekend, very clean, friendly, helpful. Food spot on. But disappointed fridge in room was not on until we asked and no drinks or snacks in room! All inclusive should mean all inclusive. That's the only negative. Loads of shops in walking distance and beach. A week max i would say, not much to do, relaxing holiday only"

Globales America Over Book Rooms!
"My daughter and I arrived at Hotel Globales America Sept 11th around 6.30pm to be told by reception there was a problem with the room and we would have to go to another hotel for 2 nights which was 40mins away by taxi ! We arrived at Bougainvillaeas Hotel which was a 3 star, when the Globales America was booked as it had 4 stars, we had decided to pay extra this year. So imagine our disappointment being sent to a 3 star were most people were stood at the reception desk complaining about hygiene, getting electric shocks from light switches, fridges flooding in the rooms and not being cleaned up etc. drinks thrown all around the swimming pool plastic cups everywhere, sun loungers still out at midnight with people smoking and drinking on them. We rang Globales America and they would not listen we had to stay at Bougainvillaeas for the 2 nights it was horrible however the staff were lovely couldn't do enough unfortunately there was nothing they could do for us. Returning back to Globales America we discovered that over at least 20 other people had been moved around the island for 1 to 2 days and in some cases 10 days! the compensation offered was free safe key and they would fill the mini bar up, we were all inclusive anyway! By this time we had had enough and agreed they came to the room and put in 4 cans of soft drinks, 2 bottles of water and 2 small cans of San Miguel what a JOKE! The reception staff were rude and unconcerned, the lifts were unpredictable, we got trapped in the lift on the 6th floor and other people had been trapped in the lifts. Food was terrible very bland and the meat was hard to identify, salad was the only thing worth eating and the toasties at the snack bar ok. Entertainment what entertainment! we did not see any in 5 days apart from for the very young children. The hotel is very clean and the bar staff are very nice and the position by the sea is beautiful, so it was a real shame that our holiday was reunited by other factors. We also booked a speedy transfer max 4 stops, they transferred us from the airport no problem in a merc taxi however the return transfer did not turn up, I rang them and they said they had sent a coach which we saw 7 other people boarding, the driver was saying a name but this was not our name, we went to reception in the hotel to double check if he had said our name are not and they said no it wasn't our transfer. 20 minutes later I rang the transfer company resort Hoppa which I also booked through OLA travel and they said the coach was the transfer and we had missed it! I explained everything but they could not care less so it cost us 70euros to get a taxi to the airport! ALL in ALL the holiday was a sham and i would never book with OLA Travel again. On returning I have tried to speak to OLA Travel and they just say put your compaint in writing, they do not respond to emails and leave you waiting on the phone for 20mins before they answer"

"i so agree with the last review i have just read. the staff at this hotel are so rude. we asked for vod and coke one night and it was just coke so my husband told the bar tender. he poured so much vod in glass we could not drink it and told him so and he just shrugged his shoulders, so my husband went to reception to complain and the manager was there so booked an appointment with him for the next day. next day we sat outside his office like two naughty schoolkids. he walked straight passed us, went on his phone then walked off!!!!!! Our glasses in our room were never washed or changed in the whole two weeks we were there. Rude receptionists...my husband obviously stood wrong side of counter as recepptionist said "next time stand over there". i thought we were the paying guest!!!All curtains in restuarant and bar are closed!! why? the view is gorgeous two beautiful coves. Lifts always breaking down. hubby got stuck in one!!! I no this is 3 star and we normally go better than this but daughter etc. were previously coming so went below our standards (not posh at all just working class) but this hotel is not worth visiting. Food terrible. we sat one night looking at our excuse for a meal and decided to go for a kebab. went chinese two three nights.air con in room terrible. need to put bed near open door to get fresh air. cocktails are not cocktails. on tap... no frills no ice just in plastic cup. horrible hotel horrible staff heard spanish people do not like all inc so do not visit unless you go self cattering. do not go hotel americas "

appaling customer service
"we recently returned from our holiday in this hotel, the entertainers were fab especially for the kids and they worked their butts off to entertain everybody, but 3 of the receptionists were a nightmare they were sooo rude and downright unhelpful asking them anything left you feeling like you were annoying them and being a pest, i tried to speak to the manager after a serious incident and was constantly told hes too busy, but after i posted a negative review on trip advisor (which has suspiciously now been removed but not by me!!)he partically ambushed us in reception asking if he could speak to us!! we are still awaiting an appology for the said receptionists appaling behaviour and all he wanted to know was why i had put up this review!!! the food was dull but edible the beach was just beautiful and very near the hotel the pool was ok but a nightmare trying to get sun loungers under a parasol unless you were willing to sit at the pool from 7am until the beds were unchained at 9am YES they lock the loungers away at night never ever have i seen this done before did they think the guest were going to steal them or something???? the rooms were really basic with a 1980's tv which u need to pay for the remote, the towels were changed daily only if you put them in the bath but in no way were the rooms swept every day as we had to walk about in our flip flops because the floor was covered in dust yuk!! the views from the room were stunning the resort itself was really tired looking and lots of shops had closed down and the ones that were still open are a good bit more expensive than the shops in the bigger towns like porto cristo etc, but would i go back hmmmmm only if it was an unbelievably good deal i would most certainly not return at the price we paid this year!!"

"I am just back from the Hotel America, staying there from 3rd May 2011, to 10th May. I am in my late 70`s, and do not think I have stayed in a better 3 star hotel. The staff are friendly, and the food was super. There were really interesting foods, like stuffed aubergines, and beautiful crab and other seafood salads. The pool bar had sandwich makings in their fridge all day, along with drinks, coffee and cold water. There was also icecream all day!!! There were not many children, but the entertainment staff had games for them at various times during the day. The Staff also had adult games four times a day, both serious (archery, shooting, pool, table tennis, and darts,) but also fun games which were hilarious. Igor, and his assistant Qini, were entirely dedicated, and great fun. The beds were not too hard, and the sheets were nice and LONG !! The bedrooms ALL face the sea, and the view is idyllic, two beautiful bays, with lifeguards, and beds and umbrellas. I would have liked a hair dryer in the room, instead of having to hire one, but there were lots of plugs for any accessories. "

"was 1st time aboard and just kept coming back to this hotel loved the look of the hotel on the cliffs. booked for a party of 10, when we arrived advised rooms not ready but they booked us in and said the rooms would be ready for 1400 and they were. the staff were very pleasant and helpful. food was plentiful and with enough choice, yeah it wasn't fine dining but do you expect for 3 star? beach is lovely and the kids enjoyed swimming in the sea. booked to go back this year"

awful place! take a bin bag!!
"We arrived at this hotel, only to find we had no room booked! After trying for an hour to get someone to deal with it, we were told we can go to another hotel , but it will be half board!! What?? I really had to kick up a fuss to get what I,d paid for!! Then was told to go away and come back in an hour..After being up at 2.30 am and then a delay at the airport, this is definately not the time or place to come up with a 'Go away' to me!! We then decided to have a drink, and looked round...This in itself was a No No..Our first impressions of screaming kids, crying babies and then finding crappy nappies around the pool area, was disgusting!! Left over food remains all over the floor, beer glasses, fag ends..OMG What had we come to?? We never got to see the rooms, Thank heavens, as we were expectin cockroaches as permanant tenants!! I then demanded we get moved that day, and we were transferred with an upgrade to a proper 4star hotel in Cala Millor..where we had a great time !! If you like a proper 4 star then DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL!! You will regret it..We have since heard there are loads who feel as we do.."

"The first thing to strike you about this hotel is the outstanding views (every room has a sea view) it is without doubt a location of natural beauty, even when you are leaving you will find yourself stealing one last look. We were all inclusive and were very pleased with the food and drink served in the hotel. It was buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a good selection to choose from. The hotel was very clean and well organised. All in all this was an excellent hotel to visit. we would definitely go back again. "

quiet and relaxing
"Fantastic location on a lovely little bay and beach. All rooms have sea view - beautiful. Hotel very clean and bedrooms and bathrooms nice and those we were in were not shabby or needing decoration. All day snack and drinks arrangements were adequate - toasties, burgers and pizzas, soft drinks and beer. 2 swimming pools of medium size didn't seem to be chock a block but poolside was and all sunbeds were used. We witnessed starters orders for towels on beds at 5.30 in the morning! There was however a couple of other terraces with beds which were much quieter. The meals in the restaurant were ok - usual stuff for all inclusive catering for French, German, Spanish and British. I say ok but not great and we have had better elsewhere. Evening entertainment no better than average. Purpose built resort is very quiet with what looked like a few other hotels and more apartments. Small commercial centre with bars (including sat tv for sports etc) and shops selling usual tat. Great place for relaxing time if that's all you want to do. "

An absolutely wonderful hotel
"I'm giving this hotel a 10/10 even though at the beginning of the holiday there was a glitch - I'll get this out of the way first and then explain why I'm still giving Hotel America such a high rating... When we arrived, just after midnight, we were told there was no room for us. We were understandably upset but there was nothing that could be done about that. The hotel called a taxi to take us to an alternative hotel for the night. This turned out to be about 150 yards up the road - so no taxi was really necessary! We checked in to this other hotel quickly (which was also All Inclusive), was given three very nice rooms and we bedded down for the night. In the morning we ate at the temporary hotel then spent the morning by their pool which was excellent. Everything was so nice, in fact, that I enquired at their reception about staying there instead. It was a different hotel group, however, so this was not possible... which was just as well because... When we finally checked in to Hotel America at just after mid-day, we were given three rooms very close to one another on the fourth floor with AMAZING views. The rooms were spacious, clean and cool from the air conditioning. We then went straight to lunch and then on to the pool - which was fairly busy but not overly so. Had a great afternoon until we went on to the beach and in to the sea - when the great afternoon turned in to a fantastic afternoon - the sea is just stunning! There are lots of little caves and inlets all around the bay, one of which is under a central outcrop separating the two small beaches - and this cave is brilliant - it goes quite a way in and at the end is a small underground beach! Really! Evening meal was great too, though the entertainment - being aimed at many nationalities - wasn't overly enthralling. I could go on and on, enthusing about the hotel and you'll get tired of me repeating myself and I'll soon run out of 'happy' words... so here's the essence of it: The hotel is very clean, very well presented. The rooms are great with wonderful views. The food is excellent with many options available. The All-Inclusive nature of the hotel is very well run - the bars are extremely efficient and there's ALWAYS food to be had somewhere, right up until midnight. You will NOT go hungry! Oh, there's a BBQ run outside in parallel to the restaurant at dinner - you can eat at one or the other - or both! But best of all, the staff always did their utmost to help; whenever we needed something they were there. No grimaces, no uncomfortable moments - they were consumate professionals and they should be very proud of their hotel. I have NEVER returned to a hotel for a second holiday - mostly because I like the discovery of a new resort - but I'm certain I will return to the Hotel America simply because it ticked ALL the boxes for a great holiday and it's going to be very difficult to top. I recommend this to any families looking for a great holiday in the sun!"

"I'm just back from a great week staying at the hotel America in Calas de Mallorca. The hotel has stunning views right across the bay and every room in the hotel has a sea view.We were all inclusive and were very pleased with the food and drink served in the hotel. It was buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a good selection to choose from.Lunch and dinner had a kids section with chicken nuggets, fish fingers etc.The pool bar was open from 10am till 6pm and you could have toasties, hamburgers, hotdogs, chips or salads whenever you wanted. Also there was a pizza restaurant that served frshly made pizza every day open from 12pm till 12 am.Every night in the garden area there was a barbecue with the usual kebabs, burgers and chicken on offer. The entertainment was of good standard too, with plenty to do for both kids and adults alike. The animation team are funny and great with the kids. There was a show on evary night at the hotel outside on the stage and some of the shows were really good. The hotel was very clean and well organised. All in all this was an excellent hotel to visit for the money paid and i would definetly go back again.
