Does what it says on the tin
"If you want a clean 3* Hotel in a fantastic setting - then The Don Pedro will meet your expectations.
We stayed for 7 nights and booked direct through Hotels own Website - [-] We were allocated a room in the separate annex and were not disapointed. Room 24 was great - The room was spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable (We have had horrendous beds in far more celubrious hotels) - But the view from the balcony was the best bit - and in the annex section, walking up some steps is more than made up for the fact that it is one of the only rooms that gets the evening Sun - great after a day on the Beach.
The food is average - and would agree with other reviews that sometimes not the best - but alsways plentiful and again served in a nice restauarant.
Free bar good - although some people seem to abuse this fact - but in general everybody sensible about it.
Entertainment was so bad that it was good - Other guests have commented that the entertainers had changed for the worse - but again didn't really bother us as we are happy to chat and drink in the bar.
Do take the opportunity to get around the Island, especially into Puerto Pollensa and walk down pine walk at sunset from the illa D'or Hotel.
Overall great holiday !"

"Great location in an unspoilt area of Mallorca, hotel spotless and welcoming on arrival, great holiday altogether. Booked 2 weeks All Inclusive with Direct Holidays 16-30 Sept 2006, reasonable price, not sure what to expect but more than met our expectations. Loads of guests were regulars.....good recommendation. Only niggle was noise late evening from entertainment which was very loud and travelled up the spiral staircase, but only a minor complaint, not enough to worry about. Some daytime and evening entertainment but not a holiday for those wanting lively time, very relaxing and easy-going. Weather was fantastic, apart from a couple of days heavy rain and storms.....including a tornado! But even that not a problem with the location, very dramatic overlooking the sea. Food was excellent for 3 star, occasionally repetitive but well-presented and plenty of quantity and choice each day. Thoroughly recommended for couples but not good for children or teens. Would most definitely book again, missing it already!"

A weeks just not long enough
"Me and my girlfriend just got back from the hotel don pedro on saturday... It was a brilliant holiday, we travelled all across Majorca, not managing to take in all the outsanding scenery that this beautiful island has to offer. The excursions offered by the travel agent were fantastic value for money and we took full advantage of this!! I particularly recommend the Western Water Park! A fantastic day out for all ages, with a variety of things to do. However, do make sure if you visit the waterpark you take advantage of the free pack lunch offered by the hotel, as food prices in the park are a little expensive. For all of you interested in culture, then the trip to Sineu market and the caves of drach are just for you, but if your looking for an exciting adventure then some people may be a little disappointed! As we were. The weather we experienced in Majorca was fantastic, the heat was perfect and not overpowering!
The beaches next to the hotel are great sun traps, however the beach to the left of the hotel is covered with stones that line the entrance to the sea which can cause a little discomfort, however this is just a tiny price to pay for the fantastic scenery and the quality of the sea further in (not saying its mucky, which its definetly not) The other beach is a little small, and there is a second beach just further down the coastline which is fantastic for paddling in, but it does get a little full when all the locals come to enjoy the sun too.
If your looking for the perfect beach then take the trip to Portochristo, this beach is perfect with a small touch of heaven captured on this beach, we had a fantasic time there!
In the hotel we had a fantastic view from our balcony, make sure you suggest a sea view, the scenery is perfect! Our room was brilliant, really clean, and well maintained! The lifts were a little old and sometimes a ride in themselves, but you can always take the beautiful staircase! The dining in the hotel don pedro was the only let down for me and my girlfriend! The food was occasionally HOT, and the repetitivness of the deserts were in the end too much for my girlfriend, there was an abundance of veal if thats your thing!!!! The snacks were average, but do make sure you take full advantage of the bar facilities!
The reception desk are brilliant and always there for you service! The night entertainment was great, except for the last day, the crowd are always in some way involved!?!?! And, last but not the very least do play bingo!!!!!!!!!! The prizes are fantastic and for the miniscule price of 1 euro 50 you can win up 120 euros!! as we found out!! Overall, we may not visit the don pedro again due to our wanting to travel, but it will never be forgotten!"

"I travelled to this hotel with my partner in August 2006 for two weeks AI. The hotel is in a beautiful location with an amazing view out over the sea. Most rooms have balconies facing directly out over this and it is certainly a view to wake up to!
The hotel itself is generally clean although we found the maid in the room had a inconsistent approach. The restaurant is large and there is plenty of variety. Its not 5* food but you get what you're there for- a buffet. Buffet food is never going to be like an a la carte restaurant so I cant see how you could go there expecting otherwise. The food that is there is generally varied with plenty of salads, meat and fish dishes to choose from and we certainly nvere struggled to find food that we liked. On occasion the food was luke warm but theres a microwave there. There are also snacks available from after breakfast until midnight so you never have to go hungry. There is also plenty of drinks available, both alcoholic and non from either the restaurant or one of the two bars. Unlike a previous AI we stayed in, the barmen were generally pleasant and you didnt feel guilty if you had more than one drink in an hour!
The resort itself is quiet but stunning. There are two beaches at the hotel and another a short walk away. The snorkelling on any of them is highly recommended as the water is crystal clear.
For those who want to go further afield Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia are close.
Overall, a fantastic holiday and we cant wait to go back."

what a stunning spot
"To all the people that have wriiten a bad review on this hotel I can only asume that you picked the wrong week .
Yes the food was 3 star standard the rooms and public areas we 3 star standard .
If 3 star standard means Clean / Spacious / comfy and the food was tasty every meal time ... Then yes I was 3 Star but that's what the brouchure says .....
The setting of the hotel was second to none .. There are 2 beaches both of which are great for snorkling ... we even saw a ray !!! but don't forget your beach shoes as it is stoney in the water .
The only downside to the hotel was that the pool was a little crowded and small .... you do have to get up early to get a sunbed round the pool , however on the main terrace you can get a bed no problem ( but you can't see the pool ) .
The entertainment was pretty standard .. with kids disco , bingo , show . the kids enjoyed it so that was fine by me ..
There is plenty going on all day if you want to get involved , and the kids had plenty to do in the day . My kids were 6 and 8 and they were fine , but the resort is very quiet and older kids may get bored .
Would I go back yes but i'd try to book independantly as some people seemed to get it a lot cheaper .
All in all great value for money in the perfect setting ."

Lovely Location and Views
"We travelled to the Don Pedro in August 2006 as a family of 2 adults and 2 children with direct holidays.
The hotel is situated in a great position on land which juts out into the sea and has a small beach either side of the hotel. The beaches were great especially for families and were very quiet. Sometimes however the red flag is flying signifying that care should be taken when swimming in the sea due to the strong current and jellyfish.
The hotel is decorated plainly but mostly adequately although the indoor entertainment area is a bit dark and dated.
The rooms have fantastic sea views and are adequate although wardrobe space was not quite enough for 4 of us. The rooms are cleaned every day including a change of towels if you want it. We found the standard of cleaning to be excellent.
The hotel staff are extremely helpful, especially those on reception. Suzanne, the entertainment guru had everything under control and is destined for greater things. Day time games take place for both adults and children.
Evening entertainment took place indoors in a cramped area which also had noisy gaming machines. There is was there was an outdoor stage area which was not used for entertainment âthis would have been much better. Evening entertainment comprised a mini disco, bingo for adults and either an in-house or outside act (eg) flamenco dancing, pop band, Mr / Mrs Don Pedro (very tacky), parrot show (very good), karaoke etc.
There is a free hotel minibus to Alcudia which has to be booked in advance (can transport up to 15 (people) âthis runs twice a day in both directions. This is a great money saver for a shopping trip to a bigger resort.
The food was very much 3 star â often not hot (lukewarm at best). Breakfast was OK but at lunch and evening meal it was a bit of a free for all. The food presentation was not that good at times but this was mainly due to the way other guests mashed it around. We saw examples of kids dropping spaghetti onto the work surface surrounding the food trays and then picking it up with their fingers and throwing it back into the tray â not very appealing at all. Often the waitresses would bring new stocks of food but mix the remaining old / cold food in with the new. The restaurant was not as good as other 3 star hotels we have stayed in previously.
The guest were 95% english â too many in our opinion. We like a good mix of nationalities but enough english to make friends with. For the most part everyone was well behaved, but 2 days before we left there did seem to be a more rowdy element arriving.
The pool was not very good â too deep in the shallow end for young children and taken over by rowdy kids throwing water around. The english would put towels on loungers very early in the morning and many did not even appear until afternoon. We used the pool at the Simar hotel next door (same ownership) â this pool is much quieter and much better.
Considering what travel companies are now charging for this hotel (£2700 in 2007 for 2 adults and 2 children) we would have expected better. We felt we got reasonable value for money but only because we booked early and got it for £2100. It was worth the money but we wouldnât have paid much more. The resort is great, the hotel itself is OK but the food and some of the clientele could be better."

Fantastic Hotel and Excellent Location
"Just returned on 26th August 2006 from a 2 week stay at this hotel. 2 Families were in our party both with 2 children aged 12 and 9 years. We booked Family Rooms which were very spacious, 2 separate bedrooms with ensuite bathroom and one room with a balcony. Everything in Hotel was spotlessly clean and towells in rooms changed when you wanted. Food was excellent, choice and quality was brilliant, something for everyone. Never had to wait at the bar for drinks and they were all good measures!!! All staff were friendly, and the area was beautiful with 2 small beaches either side hotel. Very quiet which is great because it is very family orientated and all entertainment stopped by 12.30 a.m. No noisy, partying youngsters. Children had a fantastic time, lots of activities organised by hotel for them. They especially liked that they could go and get the ice-cream whenever they wanted - this was in small tubs in different flavours. There was a large area for sunbathing on the sea front which we used and the children used to go up to the pool and to the beach when they chose as the area was very safe.
Would definately go again, I can't understand any of the reviews that say this is not a good place."

"Just arrived back from two very pleasant weeks at this good standard 3 star hotel in this lovely little resort. Cala San Vicente is a little gem which has managed to remain fairly unspoilt and is definitely worth a visit. The Don Pedro has the best location of all the hotels in the area with fantastic views of both the mountains and the sea. We were lucky enough to be given a room in the annexe, away from the noise of the main hotel and with a wonderful view across the bay. Would definitely request an annexe room if we were to return. The room was large and perfectly adequate and the beds were really comfortable. This was our first experience of all inclusive and we found it good value, though the food does get a little repetitive after a while and we thought that the drinks were probably watered down. The staff worked really hard to keep everything topped up and cleaned up any mess quite smartly. The entertainment was pretty good if you wanted it (which we didn't much) and the entertainment team worked hard and were good at their jobs, though Susannah was a bit overpowering at times.
If you want a sun bed, then be prepared to get up early - we didn't bother! Also, it seems a shame to not get out and about and enjoy a bit more of what this beautiful island has to offer and renting a car and driving up into the mountains is especially recommended.
However, the two beaches either side of the hotel were good fun, especially when the sea was choppy, but the sea bed was a bit stony which spoilt our fun a bit. The lifeguards on Cala Barques worked hard at keeping everyone safe too. But we never tired of looking at the sea or the magnificent cliffs around the hotel. And the goats!
We holidayed with Direct Travel and we have no complaints about the package they provided. But, their organised trips did appear quite expensive and we didn't bother.
The only thing that would prevent me going back to this hotel (but not this resort) would be the aforementioned clientele, but they weren't all bad and the jury is still out."

"Hotel San Pedro deserves 1 star, rather than 3.
It smells of fry-up all over the place, it's dirty and run down, rooms are small and shabby. Customers looks like thugs."

Great value for money, and views to die for!
"Just arrived back from the hotel don pedro in cala san vincente, and what a relaxing week it was! the hotel is set in the most amazing location with views which are out of this world. the staff and entertainment team looked after us very well, the food was good and the rooms were cleaned daily, if you are looking for a nice quiet holiday away from the party resorts then this is the place to come although i would not recomend it for toddlers or the young and lively, this is a place for the romantics or people who just want to relax."
