"It was a nightmar in stand of luxus vacation. The day before departere we got a message with cancelation of our travel! 5 hours after got we new message, sorry, it was a mistake. TUI missing a paying system, so Thomas Cook tries theirs best, but in two weeks they cant be agree about payment. In the airport TUI missed also a fly, so we have to fly nearly standing. Hotel has a great lobby, and great suite, but stuff is without understanding English. The biggest disapointment is the restaurant, small tables with very many people from some where else place. We had a halfboard, but because of a very-very long line to meat/fish, we choose to eat on another restaurant. Hotel has not own resort place, if guests want to swim in a swimming pool, they have to go to another hotel over the road. I was so sorry to be on this place. "

I do come back!
"We booked this trip last minute through ltur with flight and half board. If you want to gain some pounds, this a good choice! Wonderful breakfast and dinner buffet , a quiet two room suite. Very helpful and nice stuff! I do come back!"

Best bet in Cala Millor.
"Just returned from this hotel, havent been for a couple of years and its still as good as it was, which in its self is a rare thing. We had a suite which was spacious and clean, the pool and grounds are again very tidy and well kept. As a nice touch they gave my 2 year old her own mini dressing gown. There are enough sunloungers and space to go around so escaping the age old problem of the germans sneaking out at midnight to bag the places! One thing though, they have no cushions on the loungers which makes them most unconfortable and i feel a 5 star should do this. The guests are very pleasant,no tattooed groups of louts, mainly german, eldery or young familys. The food is served in the other part of the hotel( this hotel is in 2 buildings which means you have to cross a road to get to either the pool or the restaurant) this didnt bother us at all but some people found it irritating. The food is good, fresh and plenty of choice, even for me as a vegetarian. The actual town of Cala Millor isnt my cup of tea,but there are lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance, and a nice walk along the beachfront.Definatly the nicest hotel in this area you will discover as you pass the others! We would return."

"After much researching we opted for the Hippocampo Palace in Cala Millor, Majorca for our week long holiday. The hotel did not disappoint and from the moment we walked through the large, beautiful lobby we knew we'd chosen wisely. The room was lovely, spacious and clean (we did upgrade to a suite though which wasn't that much more expensive). The hotel itself was spotless, the pool area big and luxurious feeling with a gorgeous size pool and a great poolside restaurant area. The food in the hotel was outstanding. The buffet breakfast was huge and very varied, very fresh food. We had dinner in the restaurant one night which was buffet but again, it was outstanding. The service was excellent, very helpful, friendly staff and overall a fantastic hotel. The lovely big beach and the main town is a 5 minute walk away so although you are not directly on the beach you are not far from anything at all. It is very worthy of its 5 star rating. Any downsides? Not really. We would say that the hotel's clientele was 80% German, but that didn't really bother us as it might some others, as long as you're happy to keep yourselves to yourselves (due to obvious language barrier) then it's fine, and in a way, those Germans have high standards, so if you want the best for your money, you know you're okay when you're staying in a place which is so dominated by them! Cala Millor as a resort is much like other 'holiday' resorts, lots of good facilities for tourists, but again, we found in the town that A LOT of the bars and restaurants were geared towards our German friends, again though, not really a problem for us. There is something for everyone if you look around. Overall, would highly recommend Hippocampo Palace, infact we may very well go back one day..."

"We booked this hotel on the strength of the other reviews on this site and were not disappointed. However would agree that it is a good 4 star hotel and not 5 stars but seeing some of the other 4 star hotels nearby that looked like 1960s tower blocks can see why it is garded 5 stars. The food is excellent so much choice. the entertainmnet is low key so our 12 year old was abit bored at times, if you have an active teenager this hotel may not be for them. Good location, 5 mins from the sea and plenty of bars and shops nearby."

Five Stars? Sorry no. At best just about a Four Star. But worth a visit
"HipoCampo Palace Hotel. Cala Millor, Mallorca Spain. The best way for me to offer review of this establishment is to walk you through the location. Split across two buildings with the main reception in building 'A' along with the Restaurant, lounge, and terrace where nightly entertainment is ones first impression of the venue. Its here that the Five Star rating is initially lost, quite simply because they do not have enough staff to be considered Five Star. Throughout our Ten day stay there was only ever one 'porter' and only a maximum of two receptionists. To be Five Star this needs reviewing. The Restaurant with old fashioned ''men 12 years and over must wear Long Trousers for dinner'' rule which doesn't feel right in this environment; 'Claridges it isnât'; still the buffet style restaurant offers a wide choice and its all fresh, locally purchased and or caught, product. Produced prepared and cooked by a talented team of chefs. Each day whilst you always had your staple items there was always some new 'specials of the day' such as fresh Carpaccio of tuna, ostrich steaks and other exciting dishes. The waiting staff always friendly, keen to offer assistance and very attentive, one couldn't find fault with any of the team and that goes across the whole hotel, excellent friendly staff, ''bar the odd'' one and even he got better as the days went on. Staying with building 'A' this is where nightly entertainment is found, the hotel have secured some great acts from a fantastic Magic Show that defies belief to a wonderful flamenco guitar performance. The hotel really has thought about this area and has achieved significant success. Over the road is Building 'B'. This houses the suites; (more about these in a moment) the main swimming pool and grounds, tennis courts and garden bar. Starting with the pool. 100% perfect; clean, well maintained, good temperature, towel bar, manned by the nicest guy and all set in manicured lawns with sun beds that are strategically placed so one has at least 2 meters space between you and the next person. Of course you can gather more beds etc if you want to bridge the gap. No loud music, no pool side ''animation'' entertainment. Just wonderful a great place to relax and sun worship. The rooms in building 'B' are suites and are very well appointed. Although the decor is a little old fashioned its very well maintained and very clean. Housekeeping is of a very good standard. Again not quite Five Star as they don't give a turn down service and other touches that one expects of quality Five Star establishments. In summary we would return to HipoCampo Palace and Cala Millor, which by the way is flat and easy to get around although too many German Bars. Great Beach, warm clean Sea with lots of life guards. HipoCampo Palace - Five Stars? Sorry no. At best just about a Four Star. But worth a visit."

"We stayed in the hotel for a week with our four year old son. we had decided on a suite and this was good value as the third bed was excellent quality and could be rolled out very easily. As other reviewers have said the hotel was immaculate in all respects and the food was excellent in the mornings and evenings. Highly recommended"

A good 4 star, but def not 5!!
"We stayed at the Hipocampo Palace for 10 nights in July, 2 adults and 1 child, booked via expedia. We shopped around for the best room rate, even checked the hotel's own website but expedia on this occasion were cheapest. I booked a double room but on arrival we were given a "suite", comprising of a bedroom, living room with sofa bed and bathroom (shower over bath), which was a nice surprise. Have been in better suites but it was nice to have the extra space. When booking I never realised that the hotel is made up of 2 blocks, divided by a quiet road. The main building seemed to house the double rooms, main reception, dining room, internet cafe, main bar and small entertainment area. Across the road, the block housed the suites and the pool for both buildings with a small reception area. We booked room and breakfast only, but the breakfast arrangement was a little disorganised. Though we were told on the first day that you were given a table which was free, it transpired that you ended up at the same table each day and that if you wanted a table outside, there was a waiting list, so when a party left the hotel the next on the list would be seated outside at that table until they left. We had a few problems with this, however in their defence, the general manager was quick to resolve this. So if you want a table outside, explain your wishes on day 1 and you may get one eventually!!! The food choice at breakfast was excellent, from cooked, to continental, to fresh prawns, and other savouries. Cava was always on offer too. We had 1 evening meal in the hotel on the gala night (a peace offering from the hotel) and again the food quality was very good. Freshly cooked steaks and fish with everything else you would expect from a buffet. The pool area was very good, especially when you venture out of the hotel and see the other hotels offerings!!! Considering we were there in July, there was never a problem with sun loungers or umbrellas. The pool was quite deep though, but there was a small kids splash pool too. The loungers were well spaced apart with umbrellas fixed into the grass. You have to leave a deposit on day 1 for the towels and this is returned on completion of your stay. The towels could be exchanged for clean ones, either in the morning or late afternoon. There is a pool service for drinks and the pool area has a restaurant for daytime snacks. There was also a small play area with swings, slides etc. There is no kids club though. Evening entertainment was across in the main building on the terrace. It usually commenced fairly late tho - 9.30ish or later. Usual stuff of dancers, singers and pianists. The magician was very good. I would say the hotel has a large number of Germans, but all the entertainment was in English mostly. The hotel is slightly back from the beach, a 5 min walk max. There are many restaurants nearby and a walk along the prom will take you to Cala Bona, a mainly english area, as opposed to Callor Millor which is mainly German, The walk is about 30 to 40 mins to Cala Bona harbour, with plenty of bars and restaurants enroute. Unfortunately they are all much of a muchness, which was disappointing. A road back from the hotel was a fab restaurant that the locals used, didn't look very good, but the food was great, the steaks were cooked rare as I asked for and good value too for the amount you got. Don't be tempted to use the horse and carts that are around - 30 euros for 30 mins, what a rip off!!! The bike hire is better value, but watch out for the family bikes on the prom and electric scooters, they are everywhere!!! The weather was sunny with a breeze some days, usually it reached 32 - 35c during the day and 24 ish in the evenings, so very pleasant for the kids. We visited Porto Cristo, Cala D'Or, Alcudia and Pollensa, nothing that much different from where we were really. We took our own car (yes - fools that we are, we drove from the UK to Mallorca, came back via South of France - much nicer!!!) so can't comment on price of hire cars, though we were told the buses were very cheap. Overall the hotel is a good 4 star for Spain, not 5 star. Too many things missing - no turn down service, not being able to change your towels when you want, no valet parking, no daily infromation sheets, no kids club, slow bar service, etc. Positives include the amount of space in the grounds, nice pool and it's quiet location. I don't think I would return to Mallorca, it really does cater too much for the Brits and Germans, if I wanted burger and chips everyday I could go to Blackpool!!! We moved on to Nice next, far better than Mallorca."

A Life of Luxury
"I'll keep this short - book this hotel! Don't make any further hotel enquiries or read numerous more reviews. The Hotel Hipocampo Palace is wonderful in every aspect - from the staff, cleanliness, rooms, restaurant. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Some reviews have made mention of the amount of Germans at the hotel - I found this more reassuring as they don't compromise on their standards and they know what they like; anyway, there were to many sunbeds on the spacious grounds to put towels on! I'm genuinely looking forward to my next visit in September!"

great place to get away
"Great place to stay. Mainly Germans who expect a little more than English when abroad so standards that little bit higher. Buffet style meals but you didn't feel as if you were in a cafeteria/canteen. extensive array of food to cater for all tastes. Healthclub too. Rooms boutique style and a little small but adequate Bathroom heavenly. A great place for a short adult only break."

Great Base For A Golf Holiday
"I booked a 5 night Golf Package at the Hipocampo Palace Hotel for my teenage son, and I booked a half-board option for myself. The idea of booking a Golf Package, was to save me the hassle of booking everything individually. It worked perfectly! My son's package included half-board, 3 rounds of golf at different courses and a hire car (which of course, I drove!). Everything went like clock-work - from collecting the hire car at Palma Airport, to arriving at the various golf courses each morning, to find my son was correctly booked to play! Please excuse my surprise at all this, but I live in Menorca and things don't always run like that here! When not on the golf course, my son was happy to use the well-equipped gym, indoor swimming pool, steam room etc. So for a sporty lad, he was well catered for. We both had treatments in the Spa, including massage and a facial, which we thoroughly enjoyed. After all that golf, my son had a very healthy appetite, which was more than taken care of by the fabulous buffet meals. The chefs were happy to cook meat and fish to order at dinner, and at breakfast would cook eggs, pancakes etc. I am not a big meat eater, and so enjoyed the wonderful selection of salads and seafood. Our room was well-appointed, and it was lovely to be able to go down to the pool in the robe and slippers supplied in the rooms. This hotel is a great base for a golf holiday, as there is a great choice of courses within a 25 minute drive. Cala Millor itself doesn't tick all the boxes for me, but this holiday was all about the golf and not the resort."

Fantastic value for money and GREAT food
"This is my favourite hotel in Majorca. It is a perfect place for a family with young children. The apartment was nicely furnished and very comfortable. The service was impeccable, and especially the manager Mr. Gile and an Italian receptionist Santo were fantastic. The food is excellent and it is easy to forget about New Year diet resolution. This is definitely a place to relax and enjoy your holiday. We would obviously return."
