Inturotel Cala Azul Garden

Really Great Value
"I studied several reviews when booking a hotel in Cala D'or and this one seemed to be highly rated. It really is a great base for all the wonders Cala D'or has to offer. The beautiful beach cove is just a few minutes walk and the other Inturotel Hotels are also very close by and you can use their facilities - although I think the Azul Garden had the best pool (not as crammed). The rooms are very spacious, clean and although fairly basic, definitely provide a very comfortable stay. All rooms have a balcony and ours overlooked the pool and the sea in the distance, it was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and the main centre of Cala D'or is a real treat - full of restaurants, bars, shops - it has a very classy atmosphere - not a glimpse of anything rowdy here. Totally recommend Cala D'or and any of the Inturotel Hotels :o)"

"We stayed here in July 2 adults a 14 yr old and a 6yr old. Apartments were very clean and had a happy hour from 4.30pm-5.30pm. Staff very friendly especially the reception staff.Only downside was that on Sundays the pool bar closes at 4pm as does the supermkt opposite and I think a lof of the shops close too but all the bars and restaurants stay open also the pool bar closes around 7pm. The resort itself is beautiful we ate out at El Rancho a good lot which is opposite the apts but there are loads of restaurants nearby and The Holywood Family Bar is fantastic for entertainment plus they have live football matches insde so my eldest son was happy about that! The main beach is Cala Esmerelda but the best is Cala Ferrera which is a very short distance away. Marina is well worth a visit just to see all the luxury yachts restaurants here a bit pricier but we had a lovely meal in the Blanca y Negra restaurant there. As we were only there for a wk we didn't get into Cala DOR which is the centre and I've heard there are loads more bars and restaurants there. The resort is very clean it is the nicest place I have ever been and I've been all. Spain. Ilove Portugal but even this beats it hopefully we'll be back soon. A quick hello to our lovely Welsh friends Lesley and Gareth hope Jordan is well again. If you are reading this e mail [email protected]"

"We booked this hotel as a last minute deal through Travel Republic as we could not get into the Cala Azul Park, we decided on booking on the Azul Gardens as it was the same hotel chain (Inturotel) and on the same complex. We were not dissapointed with the hotel one bit, as there were 5 of us we booked 2x 1 Bed Apartments and both were spacious and were to a good standard. The hotel and gardens itself were very clean and very well maintained. When we arrived the seal on one of the fridges was broken and wasnt keeping the food cool, we reported the fault to reception and when we came back to the room, maintainance had come up and brought us a brand new fridge.
The pool area was always clean but all the sunbeds were reserved by around 8am even though the hotel requested guests did not do this. The pool bar was very reasonably priced and food was very good. Entertainment in the hotel was varied but we prefered to go to the Tropical Gardens bar near to start of town where the entertainment was suited to more adults and teenagers.
The bars and resturants in cala d'or were excellent and we eat out every night so we couldn't comment on the hotel food. We always had a good quality meal every night coming to about 90e for 5 of us.
Reception was manned 24 hours a day and the staff at the hotel being exceedingly friendly and helpful. Nothing was out of thier reach and on the last day of the hotel the receptionist had automatically rang resorthoppa for us to confirm the pick up time for our coach home.
Overall this is a fantastic hotel to stay in and i would recommend the Cala Azul Gardens to anyone!"

Good base for a relaxing holiday
"We decided to stay at the Azul Gardens having read previous reviews and were not disappointed. Booked the hotel directly through the Inturotel website, which was really easy and had good communication from them via email. We had pre-booked a taxi to Cala Dâor via [---], which cost 60 Euros and the service was excellent.
Had to wait about 45 minutes or so for our room to be ready when we arrived, but that was not a problem as we had a drink at the snack bar. (There are 2 supermarkets located near the apartments which are cheaper than the snack bar for beer/soft drinks/ice cream, one directly opposite and one round the back of the complex which is much better and less busy.)
Rooms were what you would expect for a three star rating, with the benefit of air conditioning and above all they were spotlessly clean. The Cleaner came in 5 times a week and was very thorough.
Our room faced out over the gardens but we were advised there may be pool view rooms available if we enquired at reception the next day, although we didnât bother as we were quite happy with our room.
The Reception was manned 24 hours a day and all staff were very friendly and helpful.
The pool was really nice, and again that was very clean. There was never a problem getting a sunbed although that may not be the case in peak season.
The location was ideal, with 2 beaches and the glass bottom catamaran excursions within 5 minutes walk. Cala Dâor centre with the main bars and restaurants was about a 10-15 minute walk away, but we preferred being located here as it was a bit quieter but still with good bars and restaurants. If you want to drink to the early ours try Pub Carabel and a great place to eat is a restaurant called El Faro. A two course meal with wine was about 60 Euros which is a was a bit pricey but was fantastic.
This is a great place to stay for anyone who wants self catering apartments without the facilities of a Hotel Bar/Restaurant, (we prefer the choice of eating where we want when we want), although the Other Inturotel Hotel facilities over the road were available for use.
Canât really think of any negatives about the Cala Azul Gardens, and would recommend it as a base for a relaxing holiday."

"We have just returned from a 2 week holdiay at Cala Azul Gardens with a group of friends. The apartment building was appromixately 100m from the main Cala Azul Park complex, up a lelandii style tree lined path. It was set back from the main road which was good because we had several children with us ranging from 2 to 14. The apartments and complex were very clean and a high standard was maintained throughout; the pool was large and kept clean and there was also plenty of sunbeds; the staff on the whole were extremely friendly. The Gardens had a small reception area manned 24 hours a day, the main reception was at the Cala Azul Park, as is the hotel's supermarket, restaurant, gym, laundry room and evening entertainment. Prices of icecreams and drinks at the Gardens bar were double that and some more compared to the supermarket located just opposite the Gardens entrance. The beach and rock jumping area located at the Cala Azul Park is small, clean and seemed to be used soley by the hotel guests. The Cala D'or marina is a short taxi ride away (5 euros going and a little bit more coming back), we never walked there but it would take about 30 - 40 mintues to get there by foot. The restaurants here are very nice and only slightly more expensive than the main eating area in Cala D'or. We would recommend this apartment building to any one with children who would prefer a quieter location. Our one and only downside was that we were on the ground floor at the rear of the building which backed onto a quiet road used mainly by people on foot. We used to hang our towels over the balcony to dry and one night they were stolen. We told reception of this, who said they were aware that this had happened before. It would have been nice if they could have made people in the ground floor apartments also aware of this, so they could bring items in before they went to bed. A washing line was provided and nothing was taken from this. Have a good holiday - we did!"

A pleasant surprise!!
"We have just got back from a wonderful holiday staying in these amazingly clean and spacious apartments. We had booked in to some around the corner but they had overbooked us so we ended up staying in Cala Azul Garden we couldnt have been happier. The staff were excellent and although I hated the fact that the usual towel on sunbed scenario is rife - we didnt use the pool once - the wonderful beach is a 2 min walk away and has 2 excellent beach side cafe's. All in all great apartments in good location especially for buses and local train which is right on the doorstep, will definately go again and recommend to others."

A pleasant stay!
"Although it was two years ago that I stayed at this hotel, I was dissapointed to see that it has no review, as yet, on this site.
My recollection of this hotel was that it had a pleasant and family orientated atmosphere - lovely and friendly. The rooms were a reasonable size. I was sharing with 2 other family members and there was enough room for all three of us.; with a seperate dining area as well as the bedroom.
One downside was that there was no air conditioning at the time. When I visited it was unbearbly hot in the evenings and air conditioning would have been most desirable!!! Also, there was no entertainment on site, so you had to find entertainment further into town. The Cafe on site also wasn't great; very busy and took ages to serve food. You could get much nicer food in Cala D'or, so it might be worth giving this a miss.
The rooms were cleaned every day and the sheets changed frequently so it was a very pleasant stay and I would recommend it to anybody else."

"Absolutely fantastic resort. I have no complaints what so ever. I'd recommend it to anybody! The only downside I would have is the towel situation... but pack a few of your own towels and you can't go wrong! If youâre a youngster like me then the night-life in Cala D'Or is brilliant! If you walk out the hotel and turn right and keep walking for about 15 mins youâll come to the square which is open till 4.30am, then downstairs there is the club called "sound republic" which is then open till 6.30am and which hosts different events each night; my favourite being the wet t-shirt with the ladies! Also the Hacienda music bar is also a great choice for a night out with karaoke and dancing all night long!"

"Cala D'or is a must destination for people who enjoy eating out as the choice of restaurants within Cala D'or Square is superb.
Our Introtel hotel based in Cala Esmeralda, had 3 separate hotels within the complex.
Unfortunately we were placed in the Azul Gardens which is on the other side of the road from the other 2.
The apartment itself was lovely. Very clean and spacious with a view overlooking the pool, but with plenty of greenery. It had a good size bedroom with 2 separate beds and a door leading to a good roomy balcony.
The lounge had 2 separate sofa beds with the option of a 3rd pull out bed, again with large patio windows & access to the balcony. The apartment was cleaned 5 out of 7 days, however the towels were only changed every 3 days.
The reception staff were always very friendly and helpful.
The beaches in Cala D'or are stunning however they are tiny sandy coves so if you like space around you and your towel it may not be the place for you.
The marina in Cala D'or town is worth a visit it's within easy walking distance. Nice to see how you could spend your lottery winnings.
There is a tourist road train that runs every hour that covers the whole resort, so I'd recommend a ride on that early on in your stay, helps you find your bearings.
We had an excursion on the Starfish boat that pick up from every Cala D'or bay. We opted for the 2 hour sea adventure. Think the name was leading us to believe it would be slightly more exciting than it was, but it was lovely to see all the coastline, and bays around that side of the island.
We also went on a tour operator excursion to Pirates Adventure in Magaluf. This is a must for anyone who enjoys action packed live shows. This is the 3rd time in 4 years that I have seen the show and every time it leaves me breathless. (that may be the young male acrobats)
We had a great holiday. The kids loved going to the tour operator run kids club, Donkey Kongs. That run for 2 hours a day 6 days a week.
The only gripe we had was with the Thomas Cook reps on the transfer to & from the resort. Unfortunately they don't seem to have the set up of the 3 hotels sorted out and we were left to our own devices to trail around 3 separate reception desks, (which were quite a distance from each other, including crossing a road) with 4 suitcases, loads of bags & 2 very tired & grumpy children.
A similar thing happened on our collection. Our rep had informed us we would be collected on our side of the road, so we all waited with all our cases, to have the coach stop on the other side of the road so again we had to drag all of the cases across a busy road.
I would visit Cala D'or again and stay in the Introtel chain, but would probably stay closer to Cala D'or town."
