quite loud at night, but which hotel in ibiza is not ?
"location OK, but very noisy people all night through banging doors and screaming/laughing in corridors and hallway.
recommended rather for young night clubbers.
rooms is quite sad, safe deposit charged at 2 ⬠per day, internet WiFi at 6⬠per day (only in the hallway), bathroom not very practical, but what to expect for 60⬠per day in july in Ibiza !

"me and my partner just got back from ibiza, san antonio. we booked this hotel thinking that it would be a great place to stay..the photos looked really good, had a swimming pool and reviews that we read were okay. so we didnt doubt the hotel at all. so we went ahead and booked it straight away as it was such a good deal we were getting. we got there quite early in the day (3am) and was told by the hotel manager that we couldnt check-in till 12pm which was the checking in time. so he said we could just relax in the waiting area, and was quite certain that he would have a room sorted for us as early as 9am so we didnt really mind just waiting. then when it came to 10am he told us that he had a problem with some of his rooms. at this point we were tired, angry, and fed up already..so wen we complained the manager said he would transffer us to a 3star hotel for one night, all paid for. so it was a relieved that atleast we didnt ave to sleep on a chair for the night atleast.
when we came back the following daY.. the manager was away on holiday so the assistant manager was in charge and another lady who worked evenings. so anyway we got there and said that the room was ready for us. i was thinking to myself atleast we can unpack this time. we got to the room and it was absolutly DISGUSTINGLY UNHYGENIC.. i got really emotional.. there was cigerettre ash all over the floor. the was a picture on a frame on the wall which had been cut through (i assume with a sharp knife)the balcony was very small and had painting peeling off. the bathroom was smelly..even the bed sheets were not washed properly.. there was marks all over the sheets. i was really put off and immediatly said to my partner that i wanted nother room. i just thouhght maybe its just this room and the others might be a bit cleaner.. so we complained.. the staff member wasnt happy that we wanted to change our room and was huffing and puffing.. but sorted another room out for us. as soon as we got into the other room.. it was the same thing. smelt of cigerettes. had not been cleaned properly. pait peeling off doors and bathroom.
i couldnt bear it any longer.. it hurt me that the cleaners didnt do their job & affected our stay in ibiza. we complained again.. this time we wanted to move back to the 3star hotel.. it was the same company and we didnt mind paying extra but they were fully booked. and eventually after knowing that there were no other hotel where we could stay i ended up cleaning the room myself! it was a disgrace and the worst hotel i have ever been to/seen in my life! also the staff are really rude.. we were at the bar downstairs by the pool. and i asked for a drink and the bar lady poured the wrong one by accident and wen i said im sorry i didnt order that.. she couldnt care less! said something in spanish to the other staff member and made me feel like i was in the wrong. and also if you want to borrw a glass/plastic cup to take up to your room then your just not allowed to. you have to buy a drink to recieve the glass.. what a complete joke!!!!! i would recommend the 3star hotel which is the same company as this hotel cxalled azuline mama ris..its roughly about 10 -15mins walk away from the galfi. and its closer to the beach and shops/bars.

good value for money
"Went to San An for a 3 night break and stayed at The Galfi. Have been going to Ibiza - San An for many years clubbing and stayed in many Hotels we found this place very quaint. Myself and my husband found the Galfi to be very good value for money. Breakfast was a typical mediterranean breakfast with cold meats and pastries.. ceral included. No full cooked English though. 5 mins walk to the orange corner so managed to cut back on taxis and water taxis which can work out quite expensive if staying in the Port des Torrent side of San An. Hotel pool on the small side. Couldn't imagine getting more than 15 people in there without it becoming over-crowded. Rooms were clean. Hotel reception staff very friendly. Dirt track entrance to hotel - wouldn't wanna walk up there alone as is quite secluded and dark after hours and is a little off the beaten track. 3 nights was more than enough though. Entertainment at night over the road that can be seen from the rooms "the brothel" is a bit sleazy. However dont think the hubby minded! The rooms offer basic facilities, shower, bath + balcony but no facilities such as mini fridge or self catering facilities. Air con facility but not in use. No mini fridge. For a short break i would definately recommend this Hotel for its value for money concept"

"Myself and the girlfriend went mid June. I found the room basic with bath/shower, 2 power points. Good view (3rd floor), good sized wardrobe with a safe. Internet access available in the lobby, a very reasonable 1E per 20minutes.
I found outside fine, i noticed a few negative reviews of the pool area and i totally disagree. The pool was fine, and due to the time of the year was pretty quiet meaning we had the pool to ourselves. Also most of the sunbeds seen sunlight from morning to about 4pm.
Negatives : Doors slamming, (no stoppers and draft catching them) No fridge (luxury obviosuly but would have been perfect) Some [--] employee, (late 30s, propa hitler, turns nose up at customers asking for ice from bar, and cups for water etc) Night Porter is a bit useless. Breakfast is a bit crap, just bread and cheese and fruit, ham, toast etc. Nothing cooked.
Positives : Excellent free Air Con, very reliabe room cleaning, quiet pool area w/ outside shower and toilet. Good sunbathing time, plenty of free sunbeds. Rooms were fine.
In summary, it wasnt anything special but it was everything we needed, letting us have as good a holiday as we hoped for. The main reason we were happy was because of how quiet and calm it was. July onwards if the noise increased i dont think i could have enjoyed it."

"The reviews that I saw about the hotel before I went to Ibiza was nearly all bad, but I disagree fully.
All issues were taken care of when we asked them to be dealt with, bar staff were great and the rooms were always tidy.
I am booking again this year and would recommend it to other people.

"i would like to add a comment on how pleased me and my friend were with staying in the Galfi hotel! we went to Ibiza for clubbing and having a good laugh etc we found that staying in the Galfi Hotel was close enough to walk to all the big clubs in san antono.
The only down fall to the hotel i would say is the mud track leading to the reception form the main road, it is a bit of a tow to get cases up there but we managed!
The Hotel is not too busy so some long hours soaking up the sun can be achieved!!
The food is okay as a snack would recomend the spagetti bolegnese ......
The rooms are very basic but to be honest you can cleary see it is a 2 star hotel and the price is VERY cheap... the reception staff are very helpful and pleasent!
The noise is not that bad on a night time... the first two nights we fell to sleep and not waking until morning and we were at the front of the hotel.. if anything the cocktral in the field at the front is the loudest thing near the hotel!!
We ARE booking for 2009 at the Galfi Hotel!!!

"The Galfi is great for young people who want to be close to the madness of San Antonio but far enough away to get some sleep.
We knew it would be basic as it was cheap and 2 stars. However, the value for money is excellent. Air con is included, (took us a while to work out how to put it on, the balcony door has to be shut for it to work!) the rooms are cleaned daily, sheets and towels also changed daily.
There are only a small amount of rooms and so it is well managed. June was an ideal time to go, all the opening parties for the clubs, no kids, not too many chavs! Plus its cheaper.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is a bit of a no-go, in quite a shaded area, leaves in the pool etc.. not much space for sun bathing. But with the beautiful beach a 5 min walk away, this doesn't matter.
Breakfast, as has been said in other reviews, is very simple. But there is cheese and ham, bread for toast, fruit, pastries, cereal. Be warned, the tea bags taste nothing like tea! We will bring our own next time!
Expect noisy young people, doors banging, being woken up in the night. But this is Ibiza so you are naive to be surprised by this! Definitely avoid bringing anyone under 16 to Ibiza. There are things you would never want children to witness going on there!
Its a great location, close to the beach and the shops, san antonio itself about 15 mins stroll along the beach. Taxis to the big clubs like Pacha and Amnesia were surprisingly cheap too, as the hotel is situated not far from the main road.
Would recommend Villa Mercedes near sunset strip for an amazing meal in a more authentic spanish restaurant. Stunning place. More expensive at around 14 euros a meal, but worth it. Also worth a visit is Cafe Mambo, best burger I ever had, lovely sangria, worth the money for the amazing views of the sunset.
You will be pestered by people selling tickets for nights on the beach, if you get one for a boat party then after party at Es Paradis, go for it, amazing experience, sunset out to sea was awesome.
Also a must - do is Manumission at Amnesia, Pacha and Cream at Amnesia. Would recommend booking online at home before you go, but good deals are also to be had around San Antonio if you'd rather not plan your stay.

"All I can do is re-iterate the comments already left. Room was basic, but adequate with one power point which was located in the bathroom. The noise started at about 1am anbd carried on until 6am. The room doors do not have closers on them so all doors are slammed, most of the night. We did ask the rep about being moved to a different hotel, we were told that it explained when we booked that it was a lively young hotel, it didn't say that at all and we were also told that it we would probably have to pay the same as another holiday if we wanted to be moved.
San Antonio is lovely, but this was not a restful holiday, which it should have been. We found that by leaving the air conditioning on all night although we were cold we almost hypnotised ourselves listening to that rather than girls screeching, boys crying and being drunk and doors slamming!"

"Firstly, if you choose to go to san antonio which is the heart of ibiza's nightlife, then you can't expect a quiet holiday. This was my second time staying in san antonio and was worried about the hotel, but I was really surprised, the rooms are basic, but the provided what you need to enjoy your holiday, airconditioning, beds with clean sheets and a clean bathroom! On top of that the staff were absolutly great and tried to help us in anyway, and were quite happy to order taxis for us and tell us were we could get the bus's from, or any other queries we had about getting around the island.
The only problem was the pool area was quite small and if your looking to relax by the pool, then you probably wont be able to, but the beach is just around the corner.
If you are going to ibiza for the clubs, this is a really good base. I wouldnt really advise it for families, but for groups of friends and couples i think its great.

"We booked this hotel because we wanted a nice quiet hotel which is what it said in the brochure, it couldn't have been more wrong. The first two nights we were unable to sleep at all (slept on the beach during day) due to the other rooms on our floor which were occupied by youngsters who just wanted to go clubbing. So as we were getting in at about 2-3am they were just getting ready to go out, with music blaring and people in and out of each others rooms until about 4am, then you were woken by them coming back in from about 6am-9am with the same amount of noise. We were then moved to another room after I complained.
When I spoke to the youngsters many of them hadn't booked at the galfi but because it is no longer a family run hotel (still says its family run in brochure) as itâs been taken over by a hotel chain, if one of their hotels is closed they will send them to a hotel with space ie. Galfi.
Would definitely go back to Ibiza, beautiful island, but would never stay at Galfi again.
Shame because it could and probably was a lovely hotel.

"We lasted 1 night, were told the hotel was for mature couples and families, wrong. It is situated right on the edge of the west end of San Antonio which is where all the clubs are. The hotel is for 18-30's plenty of noise all night till early morning, then the cock in the nearby fields kicks in. The drains smell really bad, and the milk was off at breakfast, we would not have lasted another day, be aware and don't go to San Antonio town or bay at this time."

Excellent Value for Money
"I stayed here for two weeks with my boyfriend in August and loved it. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the location was brilliant, we were about 5 minutes walk from the beach and 10-15 mins from the west end. The rooms are basic but clean (ask for a high floor over looking the pool when you book) that's what we did because the views from the other side off the hotel aren't that good. The pool area, bar and restuarant were always clean and the breakfast's are nice (if you manage to get up for them!) overall, I'd say the Galfi was a great hotel and I'd definately go back!"
