Absolutley Brilliant Hotel!!!!
"This hotel needs a little decor work as it is dated, it has potential for a 4* hotel with its location right on the beach and excellent food and drink. It was very clean and the cleaners worked all day none stop. The pools are brilliant and clean, ample sunloungers, all staff are very polite and hard working. The only problem with the hotel location is that it is in the middle of nowhere and a thirty minute drive to Ibiza town or San Antonio, set in a bay with a two mile very steep hill to it. The entertainments team are a credit to Thomson, there are two teams, the animation team (german) and the Thomson team, both are outstanding and you never get bored with games being played all day and night. Thursday nights are the best where the audience are splitt into groups and compete against each other, the winning team get to drink 25 litres of Sangria!!! We couldnt remember the Friday!!! You can put your children in upto three times a day on some days, 2hrs at a time, where the Thomson team reps play games and face painting . We would go back to this hotel again although we did not think much of Ibiza at all. One of the games is illustrated in our photo number 2, where the men had to give up there pants for Miss San Miguel!!! Be lively at this hotel, if you dont they will make you."

"Well I felt I had to write a review of this hotel and holiday overrall, it was great the hotel was clean, the food was great vast choice our little boy who is 3 loved the beach and the pool. The beach right on your doorstep and it was lovely. The kids entertainment on a night was good and Zorro the host was fantastic. We went on the little train and that was lovely. Would definately go back to this hotel, I have only one fault and that was not enough lifts for size of the hotel. I have been on all inclusive before and this was the only hotel that did it till midnight and not finished at 9 or 10o'clock. I was abit worried when I read the negative comments but All I can say is they must have stayed at a different hotel to the one we stayed at no problems or worries what so ever and believe you me I am a hard woman to please. From the Wake family in Huddersfield."

Relaxing holiday in sunny Ibiza
"If you like sun, sea, sand, relaxation, food and entertainment then this is the place to go.
Me and my other half enjoyed a relaxing week at the San Miguel Beach Club in September 2006 and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to couples and young families.
The atmosphere has a very Spanish feel and the people are very friendly. It is excellent value for money for a 3* to 2* hotel, although as previously mentioned in other reviews it could do with a refurbishment, however, the price would not be approx. £380 per person fully inclusive.
There are three Hotels you can use; The Galleon, The San Miguel Hotel and San Miguel Beach Club. All three have restaurants open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; however The Galleon has a snack bar (burgers, chip etc) called Mexican Corner which operates in the day. The San Miguel Hotel has the Tap Tap Bar which serves Tapas, however it operates funny opening hours and a Chinese Restaurant. The San Miguel Beach Club has the Western Saloon where you can get burger, hotdogs, chips etc.
The food is very good, with quite a lot of choice to eat from meat to salads, however, I felt that lunches were better than dinner. They were never skimpy on the drinks and the banter with the bar staff was great fun.
The entertainment was lots of fun and all the reports of Zorro being hysterical are all true. The daytime entertainment was fantastic you could do as little or as much as you liked, there was cohesion involved, however if you did not want to participate then it was fine.
The beach is wonderful and the sun loungers are quite cheap to hire. However, most of the action happens around the pool at the beach club.
The place is kept very clean and rooms are cleaned daily.
If you stay in the Beach Club you will have to book 24hours in advance to use the Chinese and other hotel restaurants excluding Mexican Corner and Tap Tap bar
If you love to see fish, take some bread down to the sea, you will be amazed
There are no cash points, the nearest is about 2 miles away up a very steep hill with no path, so exchange Euros before hand.
There are only basic supermarket shops available, however you can get English newspapers and those most treasured souvenirs
We went on the Thomson Mixed Market Tour (Wednesday only) which took us to Es Cana Hippy Market and Santa Eularia for shopping. It was a bit more money than going by your own transport (about 56 euros), however it was an air conditioned bus, you had plenty of time to shop, they told you about the island and making the language barrier not an issue.
This holiday is not suitable for people who want hectic shopping trips or island clubbers. However, if you want a very chilled and relaxed holiday you wonât be disappointed with San Miguel."

"Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Club San miguel. It was great! I went with my partner and another couple. No kids this time. We all had a lovely relaxing time. The resort is so pretty, and the beach is stunning and so close to the hotel. We spent most of our time there. The food is great and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Entertainment was good too. We've got 2 children 6 years and 10months and we are definately returning soon with them, it's a really family friendly resort. Don't listen to the bad reviews. It's a FAB place. Enjoy!"

"I took my boyfriend and our 5yr old daughter. We were so looking forward to this holiday, but was bitterly disappointed!!
We arrived late at night and it was like we had walked into a teenagers party. There were teens running around and generally running wild. (we were told it was a superfamilys holiday for YOUNG FAMILIES)
Once we saw the room i was devastated. it was a shoe box with no windows, low ceiling and it was so humid. The balcony was in the 1st floor overlooking the car park and we had the staff below us with a load stereo every night constantley waking my 5yr old.
The air con leaked all over my daughters bed during the night.
The phone in our room didn't work for the whole 2 weeks!! we asked the staff constantly to have it repaired, it never was.
The food was ok, but we all had stomuch problems in the same week so was laid up for most of the second week in our shoebox.
The entertainment was brilliant for the kids and the beach was great too, only a short walk from the hotel. We felt isolated and bored come half way through the holiday.
The staff were absolutley useless and always seemed rather rude.
It's a shame as this was the most expensive holiday we have been on and the worse!
It seems like I'm moaning alot but I don't want others to go through what we did. I would never go back to this hotel and wouldn't recomend it. We still don't understand how anybody could like it there???? I sent a complaint to the travel agent but they were not bothered as they had the money in their pocket now. All i would say is if your unsure, DON'T DO IT!!!!"

"we went to this hotel with an open mind never having been to an all inclusive before . our room was clean with a great view from the balcony.the food was good ( yes there are chips every day but you could also have salad , jacket potoes or rice ).The bar staff are very friendly and serve you to as many drinks as you ask for.The one problem we found was all the daytime fun was around the pool and to get a sunbed there you need to be up early, when we were going for breakfast one day at about 8.45 one woman gleefully told her friend "i've got 12 beds all in a row" this lady was still around the hotel an hour later happy in the fact her sunbeds were reserved ( the british far outdo the germans on this score ! ).the entertainment during the evenings was good zorro and his team work very hard, happily they choose people who want to join in during the day so there is no being dragged onstage unless you want to although at the end of every show you will happily be doing the "follow the leader " dance everyone joins in young and old.The beach is great and you can relax by the sea or play games on a big patch of sand at the rear.We enjoyed ourselves on this holiday and found it could be as relaxing or funpacked as you wanted to make it.there is no pressure to join in at all."

Awesome - Booking Again for Next Year
"I will try to keep this short and sweet.
Dont be put off by some other reviews here that say it aint up to much. If you want a holiday to keep the kids entertained whether it be in the kids clubs or the vast amount of activites throughout the day, this is for you. The food is great (lots of choice), always available. The bar staff couldnt be nicer and the choice of drinks is vast and measures go out of the window. The entertainment is fantastic especially the ones laid on by the resident host Zorro and his great team. The rooms although not luxurious, but come on you hardly spend anytime in them anyway, are well above average and above else clean. This is the first holiday that our room was cleaned everyday and new sheets put on the bed.
In all, this holiday was the best yet. We have got boys (6 & 3) and both were crying as we were getting on the coach to return to the UK.
Bottom line is book now. You wont be dissapointed. We are booking again for next year !!!!!!
ps - I got speaking to a family who was on their 9th consecutive year there in the same hotel.
See you there - Big C and Family, Preston, Lancs"

Fantatic Time In IBIZA!
"Me, my husband and our 4 year old daughter booked this Hotel due to the reviews we had read on this site.
On arrival everything ran so smoothly which we were really pleased about. Reception is on the top floor and our room was the floor below so it was a bit of a trek to the pools but we weren't complaining as we needed to get fit!!!!!
Our daughter loved it, she went in to the kids clubs were the Thompson reps were fantastic and then she had her swimming lesson straight after. She had a ball and it gave us some sunbathing and chill out time!
The food was fine for a 3 star hotel.
The entertainment was fantastic, I looked forward to it every night. The kids and the adults were both entertained. Be prepared to get up on stage and do what you are told!!!
We would definately go back. All in all a great 2 week holiday were we all enjoyed ourselves and were sad to go home."

good time had by all
"after reading recent reviews i was sure me and my family had picked the right holiday package. i can tell you now i was not dissappointed the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful the thompson team are very keen and put a lot of effort into looking after you the person that stands out the most was DJ Dan. the evening entertainer was the famous Zorro who lives up to his previous reviews and is a very funny man. the food in the resturant is large and has tables for all sizes of famlies. there is also a varied and large selection of food right up to midnight.the beach is clean ad the sun beds cost onl 4 euros for a full day. dont forget the most of the water sports are free like canoe, windsurfing and sailing also the hotel has a scuba diving school within the hotel which would cost about 55 euros for a beginners course which looked amazing.TIPS. all drinks including beer are served in small plastic cups we took large plastic cups which save a lot of walking back and forth on the beach. dont stay on the 7th floor as you will be below the resturant and bar which can be noisey from chairs and tables being moved around late at night and early morning. if you arrive on a late flight like we did there will be a good chance the resturant will be closed on arrival if you cannot get any help from reception food for you and the kids just call the thompson help line and it will soon be sorted.have a great time"

"Travelled to the hotel San Miguel in June and had a great holiday.I had read some previous reviews which were very mixed so we were not sure what to expect . The hotel is located in a very quiet resort, but the bay is really beautiful, the views from the rooms with seaview are amazing. The beach is very nice and really wide so it never felt crowded and we didnt find the loungers too expensive. The sea is great but if they have any bad weather the jellyfish seem to get washed in but we didnt really see any the week we were there. Not really many shops, just a spar and a couple of the usual gift type shops, no phamacy or bank, you have to take a taxi into the town which is a couple of miles away. The hotel itself could very much do with a refit the rooms were fine if not a little old fashioned but they were cleaned evey day and we only slept in there so it didnt really matter. The hotel layout is a little strange, as it is built into the cliff side, the reception area is located at the top of the building along with the restaurant then the rooms are all underneath which would have been okay if the 2 very dodgy lifts worked as they should have, people were often stuck in them or waiting for one to arrive so if poss its much better and safer to walk. The food we all found was okay , just the same as any 3* hotel the kids always found plenty to eat and their was always plenty of choice. The evening snacks were not great and the food was never fresh , but not many people ever seemed to use the restaurant after the main meals(could be something to do with the long trek back up).The hotel has two swimming pools. one rectangular serving the hotel and another at the bottom serving the beach club which we found better for the kids with more going on there. At the entrance to the beach club is a large play area, volleyball and tennis court, we spent a lot of time out there but the kids really loved it and always had a great time.
What i think makes this hotel is the atmostphere, the bar staff were always friendly and the drinks measures were wicked . The thomson reps especially the kids reps were very good though our kids didnt really use the clubs much as they were happy in the pool . The hotel entertainment staff were fab zorro and his teamwere very funny friendly and tried their best to make sure eveyone had a good time.Activities during the day included waterpolo, rifle shooting, football, volleyball and much more but no one was ever hassled to join in, the evening entertainment was best when run by zorro , starting with a kids disco with clown which everyone loved and of course the club songs and everyone joined in . The best evening was Boogie Nights, its totally mad but great fun, if your team win all i can say is dont drink the sangria its lethal as i found out the next day.All in all we had a wonderful holiday and for all the hotels faults we would definatly go back again. This hotel is perfect if you want a really fun happy holiday but are not too fussed about top class accom, i have stayed in much better hotels but have never had such a good time or laughed so much, even at the bad things, they dont seem to matterand i didnt hear anyone complain.i would suggest hiring a car especially if staying for two weeks as the resort can get a little boring, we drove all round the island , went to some lovely resorts but i am glad we stayed where we did.I am sure we will return one day, hope its just as good"

"We booked a cheap holiday in earl august for my husband, my 16 year old son and myself. We expected the basics with good weather but were very pleasantly surprised.
From the minute we arrived we felt comfortable. The staff were great, the hotel was clean (fairly basic) but had everything you would need. There was plenty of entertainment - football, volleyball, tennis, treasure hunts, table tennis, archery, swimming, keep fit, dancing, the beautiful beach, free canoes, lots kf beach water activities (payable). You can sit round the pool, on the beach, or in a quieter area at the front of the hotel.
our room was at the front of the hotel so we did hear Garbage men at 5 every morning. We did learn to go back to sleep though afterwards so it was ok (ish)
food was good, varied, plentiful and the restaurant staff were lovely. It is a strange shaped restaurant its like lots of rooms all connecting but it works. There is a snack bar which serves real snacks -burgers, fried chicken, hot dogs and chips but they were all cooked to order so that's good.
drinks were included -all inclusive and they moved the queues well.
there is a sister hotel right next door and you can use their facilities --tapas bar, gym, Chinese restaurant.
the village of Puerto San Miguel is tiny. There are only a couple of hotels, a couple of apartment blocks, a few shoos and bars and a few restaurants but it is lovely. The beach is beautiful and sandy and has a fabulous view.
the bus service to Tye rest if Ibiza is easy to use and is very inexpensive. It cost us 3 euros each to go to es Cana for the hippie market.
It is most definitely a hotel for families. Yes it us noisy through the day but it is a happy noise with lots of laughter . Evening entertainment centers around the pool area and us good for all. It stops by midnight so don't worry about noise all night.
This hotel is listed as a 3 star. It isn't posh but it is very very comfortable. We were surprised to find how many people were there for the sixth, eighth or tenth time. In fact, we had such a good time we went home and booked for this august - we have never done that before.
looking forward to it."

Bit of a mix !!!!!
"My partner and I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Club San Miguel,I'm not a moaning Minnie as some would say but the holiday got off to a bad start we arrived after midnight, peckish and thirsty only to be told no where was open for a snack or drink.
We are in our sixties and was told it was ideal for couples we were given a room overlooking the pool, which we asked to be moved and true to their word we were after a day so was fine !!
The restaurant in San Miguel was just awful all cold and really poor,we realized we could eat at hotel next to it for every meal throughout your holiday and the food was really delicious it has to be booked each day 24hrs in advance.
Staff all very good rooms very clean no complaints there.
I would describe it as very good for families all day and night entertainment kids seemed happy playing in the pool.
Beach was great we where lucky with the weather.
Would return if promised a quiet room mostly because of the fact we could eat at hotel next door."
