Thompson All Inclusive NOT
"We and our friends booked our holiday on the 28/6/13 for Hotel Panorama Hotel Es Cana Ibiza for the 16th-23rd June 2014 booking reference 23453 at your Bexleyheath Thompson shop, we were given flight details etc and booked an ALL INCLUSIVE with sea view The Hotel was nice and clean, the food good and plenty, the rooms were as requested and paid extra for, sea view and high floor, they were kept clean by the staff and when we had to report a leaky kettle and a sink that leaked all over the floor when the plug was taken out this was sorted the same day with no problem. The entertainment however was very poor, the only decent act was in a separate bar attached to the hotel that if we wanted to go into we would have to pay for our drinks even with a 50% discount thats still not all inclusive. Also the hotel should have been a no smoking hotel but guest were aloud to smoke on their balcony which affected any one nearby, also outside where all the entertainment was guests were permitted to smoke any where, no designated area so as we donât smoke and I have asthma we were subjected to the aggravation of having smoke around us all the time. Also in the outside area of the restaurant guests were aloud to smoke so if you wanted to sit outside to eat you were subjected to the smokers again. THIS IS NOT A NO SMOKING HOTEL AS STATED. This is the 3rd holiday with Thompson and in previous times were mostly pleased with the whole experience, last year at Lanzarote hotel Coronas we also had all inclusive which included all the drinks we wanted not just local produced, also if we wanted cola or lemonade with our lunch and a coffee after lunch that was all ok, but at the Panorama this year if we wanted cola or lemonade with our lunch it had to be paid for. When we spoke to the holiday rep they explained the two tier all inclusive which still did not include all the drinks we wanted and that would have been an extra 12⬠per day, which still didnât give you any decent drinks or extras. We do not drink to excess but it would have been nice to have a decent named brand of drink when we wanted one as in the previous year at Coronas, that is partly why we booked an all inclusive. It is not stated in the catalogue that all inclusive is not all inclusive, also that there is a two tier all inclusive which is still not all inclusive. We are disappointed that things as stated in this email caused us not to enjoy the holiday as hoped, also I think that you should mention to anybody booking this hotel firstly that it is ok to smoke in this hotel and is only suitable for these people, also only suitable for anybody over the age of 65 as the age group they cater for is mainly for 70-80s This is what the dictionary states when we looked it up all-inclusive adjective including everything or everyone. an all-inclusive holiday. ⢠denoting or relating to a holiday in which all or most meals, drinks, and activities are included in the overall price."

all that glitters is not gold
"Just returned from a Thomson Gold holiday we had room 522 sea view, the following morning went down to reception for a change of room to pool view. reason noise it was bad we had asked for a high floor, sea view and a quiet room. sea view and quiet are not compatible. The main resort road passes in from of the sea view block. Revelers coming late out of the bars made it very difficult to sleep. we never got the pool room The reps had various reason i.e. rooms all allocated Etc. We believe it never got higher than 60% when we were their. The hotel reception who were great couldn't do a thing there hands were tied by Thomson. Food poor choice, badly cooked "

"once again well what can we say, great hotel, nice to see the old manager back, saxaphone and all, great food again, the rooms are nice how ever they seem to have fewer places to put your clothes since the refurbishment, other wise yes again great staff who rember who you are and go out of there way to help, what ever time of day or night,we put a review on here 2 years ago and its still a great place to go we have been 14 times now and we will be going again and again.Derek&janet wrawick warwickshire"

No. 1 hotel for food quality
"Stayed at this hotel for one week from 15th July 2012. We had not visited Es Cana for many years but knew of this hotel - it was also recommended to us by some holidaymakers we met last year at Fuengirola. We were not disappointed. Food quality and selection second to none. We were most impressed. Hotel in excellent position overlooking marina. Only two faults - the bathroom poorly designed, you need to be a very small person to sit on toilet comfortably. Also entertainment very poor. We were informed by management that this is the fault of Thomson. So come on Thomson get your act together and give us the standard that we expect for a Thomson Gold hotel. Would recommend this hotel unreservedly."

Hotel Panorama, Es cana Ibiza Brilliant
"We stayed at this hotel 3rd week in May and we were one of the youngest couple there (we are late 40's early 50's), but it did not stop us having a great time. The guests were all freindly and we have made some new friends. The hotel itself was very clean and very welcoming. The rooms were always clean and fresh towels were delivered daily. The standard and variety of food was excellent with plenty to choose from. Geraldine and her staff were very efficiant and where always on hand to help. We booked through Thomson and again could not fault Lorraine and her collegues their reps nothing was too much trouble. One bit advice I would give is the men have to wear long trousers and the ladies have be casual but smart (no shorts) for dinner. Would stay her again and would recommend this hotel for mature couples."

GIVE IT A MISS!
"We spent the last week of the season at this hotel W/E 31.10.11 So very disappointed.................. The pool although beautiful was freezing The indoor jacuzis were switched off The outdoor jacuzis were working but the water was not warmed up at all! They closed the pool bar for the last 2 days The entrance lobby/lounge areas are tatty and the furniture badly worn Breakfast was good but they did not bother to replenish some of cereals and juices for the last two/three days...Just told "all finished you can't have any more! Staffing in the restaurant was minimal and on the last two days very sparse indeed! The food at dinner was never hot and crockery etc was awful and chipped and sometimes the plates etc were wet Our room was ok, the shower very good, the view super! The walls marked and dirty in places. Whe we Arrived there was a dirty piece of torn towel in the bottom of the fridge; we were told it was to soak up the water! We insisted it was sorted....only another towel was placed in there! The entertainment.............same duo every night.....same rubbishy awards for daytime activities (is this a kids club!) The comedian was awful.....smutty and derogatory towards women...needs new material! Saving grace was some of the Tomson entertainment staff....especially ADAM...brilliant entertainer and always put guests first. Tomson's staff entertainment team on the last night knocked spots off the regular duo and the comedian who were supposed to be professionals! The only other entertainment that was brilliant was a duo booked for one night only called "Me and Him" fantastic guitarists and singers. Every day more and more chairs, tables and staff disappeared from the restaurant, they were basically closing up the hotel around us the whole week! On the morining of our departure breakfast was cold food only and the tea machine was not working...they ran out of fresh orange juice too. We had a day of storms and heavy rain.....the water was pouring down through the cooker hood over the servery and food in the restaurant. There were beach towels everywhere soaking up the rain and also in the lobby/lounge areas where it was coming through the walls by the skirtings! We went to this hotel the same time last year and wasn't so bad so we thought we'd give it a try again....wish we hadn't bothered....we won't ever be going back to them again! Next time we'll go back to our favourite little two star hostal B&B in Es Cana where you always get treated well all the time and everything is so much superior and the food is wonderful and the welcome faultless!........... not coming back
"having just returned from holiday at the panorama i feel i must write this review. the hotel was a let down after having holidayed at other thomson gold hotels. the restaurant was a big disappointment.the crockery left a lot to be desired, some of it was chipped, some of it was still dirty even after having been washed, the pudding dishes were hot and wet which does not help if you were having ice cream and fruit.our room was not cleaned very well.some days we had coffee and milk left in the room other days we were left without.the remote control for tv was held together with tape.early arrivals and departures were a nightmare because of the wooden boardwalk under our room.on the plus side i cannot fault the reception staff on their willingness to help and polite demeaner.the entertainment team were also very good."

Probably great if you're over 70!
"We have just had a week staying at the Panorama & although pleasant enough, we wouldn't go back. Most of the guests were 70+ & it felt like a Saga Holiday. My husband & I (49 & 51 year olds)were one of the youngest couples there. The whole dining experience was not for us either, tables very close together & a lot of repitition with regards to the food. Dinner was from 6pm - 9pm which for us was far too early, if you were still sitting at 9pm, the staff were clearing the dining room round about you. We ate about 8.15 each evening & were usually last to leave at about 9.10. I hated the feeling of being rushed, we enjoy relaxing over our evening meal but this was definately not possible here. You were herded in & back out again as quickly as possible. We ate out a few evenings as we like to stay on the beach until about 6.30, go back to the hotel to relax for a while & then go out about 8.30 - 9pm. We found ourselves leaving the beach a bit early some evenings just so that we could get to dinner by about 8pm. We did however have a GREAT sea view & a huge balcony but the Hotel has no 'buzz' whatsoever. I hate rowdy or noisy hotels but a happy medium would have been good. This hotel was more like a retirement home. If you're under 65 or 70, YOU'RE TOO YOUNG TO STAY HERE! "

Fantastic Holiday - Again!
"I'm a single traveller and have stopped at this hotel many times. My single room is small but has a balcony overlooking the sea and I don't get charged a hefty supplement for the room either. I'm very happy with this as I only use the room for sleeping and getting ready to go out and its lovely to sit on the balcony in the early hours of the morning and watch what's happening. Although it is in need of refurbishjment (which is being done this winter) both the rooms and the public areas are kept spotlessly clean. All the staff are friendly and helpful and there are plenty of waiters so you never have to wait for a drink. As someone else has said the food is awsome, so much so I put on 12lbs during my stay and that is without having any lunch!! I doubt if anyone could think of anything they have in a cooked breakfast at home that the hotel don't serve every day. The entertainment has been going down year after year and although I wouldn't mind the odd opera show there were far too many but you don't have to stop at the hotel in the evenings. There's Charlies just round the corner which has 3 bingo games each night followed by a tribute act or a 5 min walk to Popeye's which has similar entertainment. There are also a number of bars. I'd like to add that I thought the Thomson Production Team entertainment was far superior to the professional acts. Adam and Claire worked really hard both during the day and in the evenings - Adam made me laugh more than any other Rep has. If you don't like the entertainment round the pool during the day do what I do and go down to the beach, lie on your Thomson towel and then get it changed for a new one the next morning. Es Cana is a small resort but has lots of places to look round and you can 'island hop' on the boat ferries or by bus. I'd recommend the Panorama to anyone as long as they are not looking for night clubs. Having said that if you want to drink till 4am there are plenty of bars around. Everyone's gripe - sunbeds - this has been a problem for nearly 20 years as we used to go there when it was a Thomson Sun hotel when the children were little. Although there is this mad rush early in the morning being on my own I never had a problem getting a sunbed and it was fairly easy to get a couple together if you didn't mind not being by the pool. Thomsons tell me that this is the hotel's responsibility and they could easily solve it by removing two-thirds of the tables and chairs during the day and replacing them with sunbeds. I've already booked for next year and am looking forward to seeing the newly refurbished Panorama."
