MY TOP 5 OF 3 STAR HOTELS
"HOTEL EASY TO GET TO FROM AIRPORT/TRAIN STATION BUS NO6 Stops a few meters from hotel bus stop marked route 6,bus stop near Statue see photo, below this statue is the tram station this is excellent catch tram to Benidorm, other parts of Alicante ,bus no 2 stops outside hotel entrance, takes you to sea front even though its just a 10 minute walk past the Santa Barber castle, the beach is even closer.Hotel good great facilities one of the biggest TV screens i ever seen in the lounge, staff are great, self service food is good limited choice but quite sufficient, rooms are very clean, with a minibar with prices displayed on top of fridge.only one point the room walls are thin i could hear someone snoring in next room, though i found this a faint noise, advise getting a room on a upper floor as hotel on a busy road.Value for money YES i will go back to the Maya in my favorite Spanish town."

Would stay again
"I travelled with a friend to Hotel Maya for 4 nights. Considering this is only a 3 star hotel - it was really lovely. Very bright clean and airy. We got to the hotel about 9pm at night and when we asked how to get into town, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Our room was big and very clean. The beds were lovely. I have found that hotel beds tend to be very soft but these were brilliant, very comfy. It is a quiet hotel and there also seemed to be alot of children there! We didn't hear them at all! Very family friendly! There are lifts too, which help if you are on the 5th floor as we were! The pool was very nice. lots of loungers and we ordered a sandwich was was nice and quick! There is also a kiddie pool. We had breakfast included in our package which again was very good. Lots of different foods available. There is a hot buffet too, which, wasn't the hottest. There is a shopping mall across the road ( about 5 minutes walk - up a hill!) which has a massive suoermarket and all the ususal amanities you would expect. Its about 10minuts to the beach and 15mins into town. There are lots of different style restaurants there and the marina. However, if you walk for another few minutes into the old town, there are some beautiful restaurants away from the tourist trail. On the esplanade, there are also some night markets which are fab! Across the road is the marina, with lots more restaurants and the casino and clubs/bars. Overall, we had a fantastic week and I would recommend the hotel and area. "

Brilliant, Good service, location, price, food...
"We arrived at the hotel by Airport bus, the bus-stop is outside hotel. If you are renting the car there is also parking for guests. Checked in, 2 staff members greeted us, 1 had good command of English, but it will help if u print UR booking/reservation and keep he details handy just in case the receptionist cant speak English. There is WiFi in all rooms in hotels, no passworded needed, its an unsecured connection so if U arrive before check-in time, U can send some time or they can put UR stuff in cloak-room and why not just walk to beach and get some sun... Restaurant and bar is located on ground floor as well and the food is good and very reasonably priced. 3 drink dispensers are located on ground floor. There is one adult pool and one for kids, tthats nice if U R travelling with kids. there is a bar next to pol as well, so if U need a drink, U don have to go into hotel at all, I loved that. Rooms: Spacious, tidy and clean bathrooms & toilet. This hotel is 7-10 minutes walk from city-centre and 15 minute walk to Castle. AND just 5 minutes to beach. I'l give this hotel 10/10..."

It was not located close to the beach as stated
"We picked this hotel because of its location being close to the beach, near shops and for the comfort of booking into a superior room. We were very shocked and disappointed when we arrived to find first of all the location was terrible, superior room overlooking the ocean was not the case. The superior room that you pay extra for barely covers as a below standard room over looking high rise buildings and the back drop of the sea. You have to walk at least 20/30 mins to get to the shops and resturants. There was no entertainment in the hotel at night and the last bus finishes at 10.30pm if you wanted to get the bus into town, then taxi back. That would be expensive to do every night. we found staff had little to no English and the bar was much to be desired for. We checked out after one night and they never even asked us why! Would not recommend this hotel as website give false information about location especailly!"

Lovely clean hotel, well worth the money
"Just back from a two week stay in this hotel. Had read some of the reviews that was already up for this hotel on tripadvisior so was a bit wreary until i got there. I couldnt believe the difference. It was lovely very clean and the staff was lovely. Most had quite good english and the ones who didnt could still understand what you were saying. The rooms were lovely and had everything you would need. It had said on a review that the walls was like paper and the noise from outside was terrible. Well there was a big festival on the two weeks we were there and we had no problems and we were on the 7th floor and there was people on both sides of us and again no problems. it is in a good location also if you dont mind a 10 min walk to beach and town. The best way down to beach and town is to go out hotel door turn right and keep right on that street which takes you down pass Robins Bar walk on down til you come to a small playground cross over to the railing where you can see the beach walk about 2min and you will see steps on your left which takes you down to a walk over that leads over to the beach. you can then walk on into town in 5 mins. We had a car with us and the hotel charges â¬9 a day for parking but we parked for free at the side of the hotel. the car was there for 12 nights and not a thing happened to her. The staff are every helpful so just ask. the pool was lovely also as i lay out a few days and it was great with its little bar and it was very very clean. Look all i can say is we are a married couple from Donegal in Ireland and just wanted a nice clean relaxing hotel in a good location and we found it in the Maya Hotel. It was well worth the money. The Hotel is great and as far as i concerned if you want to stay in the Ritz pay for it then but Hotel Maya will suit me fine. Yes Alicante is very spainish but again it was spain i wanted to go to..."

"Dont be put off by the dated exterior. The hotel will tick most peoples boxes. Its clean , spacious with a good location , the room we had was more than adequate and represents excellent value for money (less than £50 a night ) .The towels were changed each day and the bedding twice during our six day stay visiting friends who live in the area. The pool although small was hardly being used so no falling out over sunbeds. The location is a 10 minute walk down to the beach / 20 to the marina and front of the city centre along the promenade at the side of the beach .The walk uphill then downhill to the main city centre could be difficult for those not keen on walking. The tram station (Marq) is within two hundred yards and connects with the centre(one stop) it also goes to Bendiorm at regular intervals (line1)for just over 5 euros return.A far better option is visiting the white sandy san juan beaches Costa Blanca or Muchavista (line 3) at just over 1 euro each way. Across the main road and within a five minutes walk is the Plaza shopping centre with a large supermarket and a variety of shops including a food court on the 3rd floor. The Chinese help yourself buffet at 9 euros was good value. The hotel breakfast was buffet style with a typical continental selection .The sausage, tomatoes, bacon and eggs are not in the full english style but nonetheless fill a gap !. We chose to eat out rather than at the hotel for our other meals . We found the staff to be polite , helpfull and efficient and had no problems with the language. The taxi we ordered for the flight home was there within 5minutes of the request. We had no problems whatsoever at this hotel ."

Simple, functional and clean rooms, good location
"The hotel is located in a comparably good location in Alicante. Within 5 minutes walking you can reach the city centre as well as the great beach. The rooms are small and quite old - refurbished, but still you can hear every single word from your neighbours. Also, the whole building and infrastructure seems a bit shabby, staff is not really friendly. Public parking for free is available just in front of the hotel."

Nice hotel, very clean, modern and breakfast was reasonable
"This hotel has just been refurbished so is very clean and modern. Its just off a main road but we couldn't hear the traffic in our rooms. The hotel was about a 10 min walk to the beach and about 15 mins into the main town where all the restaurants are. The hotel has a pool area with a few sunbeds but no brollies and it doesn't get any sunshine until later on in the day as the pool is hidden by the high building of the hotel. We spent our 3 days on the beach. (Each sunbed was EUR3.00 per day).We booked in under B&B and the breakfast was your usual continental breakfast with some scrambled eggs and bacon if you wanted it. The staff were helpful albeit a little slow! Taxi to/from the airport costed us EUR19.00 per trip and the hotel booked the cab for us to the airport 5 mins before we needed it. I would stay there again."

"This Hotel is very nice, large clean and tidy room, disapointed with not having a view except into apartments across from us.The staff were very friendly but didn't speak much english, so found communication a bit tricky. The hotel is a bit far from shops and the city center so relied on the bus which is right outside the hotel, we also didn't realise the tram stopped just up the road from the hotel and therefore travelled to the Mercado to get the tram into Benidorm.overall i might stay at this hotel again but would prefer to be a bit closer to the town."

Very Spanish but Welcoming Hotel
"This is a very spanish hotel and the reception staff and bar staff speak hardly no English.... My husband speaks spanish so we didnt have any problem with it... After the first night we asked to change rooms as we were next to the lift.we could hear the lift chain... they changed us str8 away without any problem to the top floor room 1017.. The breakfast was good plently of it... The room was a bit noisy from next door they seemed to stay up all night but only the Saturday was a problem. We really liked this hotel and will return when we visit our family again very near the beach and town centre. If you want English talking staff I would suggest you go to Benidorm, but we wanted a spanish holiday as the spanish do...."

Good value for money.
"Our room was very basic but clean, we had a balcony which overlooked the sea. The room was large and so was the en suite. The only English TV channel was Eurosport. The hotel was opposite the Plaza Mar shopping complex which is a 3 storey indoor shopping mall with a food court on the top floor. You can walk to the beach in 5 minutes and to the centre of the Marina in about 10 minutes but it's a lovely walk along side the waterfront. The hotel is a good location but I would probably stay more central next time. Our only disappointment was that the pool was closed. The website who we booked with hadn't informed us of this. All in all a good value hotel with a good breakfast. I would recommend it."

Basic, clean, no frills accomodation
"This hotel was chosen as the accomodation for a 2 night Hen weekend in Alicante. It was chosen mostly considering it's price and the fact that it was close to the beach and had a pool. When we arrived at the Hotel however we were told that the pool was closed for the season (2 days previously) and this had not been noted to us when booking. Luckily the beach was only a 10 min walk away. The Marina and nightlife is just past the beach so well within walking distance, however if you dont fancy the stroll a taxi was about 5 Euros one way. The rooms were set out as tripples (camp beds added to normal twin rooms) and I was glad that we were only staying 2 nights as any longer and I think it woud have gotten quite cramped. Bathroom was ok, with a standard shower over the bath. I had read some reviews on here before going and noticed that it said the walls were thin - and they really are!! We could even have conversations between the walls! Luckily we were next to others in our group so we didn't disturbe any other guests. Breakfast was plentiful and after a night out partying, the timing of 8 - 11 suited us to the ground! There was all the usual you would expect, cold meats, bacon, sausage, cereals, toast, fruit etc etc and with a few desserts/cakes thrown in as well! If I was going to Alicante again for a simialr occasion, where minimum price is the key factor, I'd definately stay here again. However, if it is a luxuary break you are looking for - keep looking!"
