Albir Gardens 2008
"My Wife and I have vistited Albir Gardens on many occations and found it to be a well laid out with comfortable appartments, However the Spanish People who work there tend to be Rude, especially with the english ?, and when the Spanish pensioners arrive they take the place over, as paying guests I would not expect to wait upto 2 hours for lunch ( which is part of my all inclusive) then told sorry we are closed and have to spend money on a meal elsewhere , due to the Spanish pensioners taking over the resturant. When I complained It seems that the reception are all deaf ! Summary, Find a hotel that wants your Business and appreciates your custom."

NICE APPARTMENT, POOR FACILITIES
"My wife and i returned recently, after spending 7 nights here, we were pleased it wasn't 14. After spending about 15 minutes checking in, mainly due to the receptionist stopping half way through our check in, to have a light hearted telephone conversation, we were finally allocated an appartment in block J. This was quite a long distance to walk, but the good thing was it was reasonably quiet at night. The appartment itself was really quite nice, the main living area being reasonably large for 2 of us, but the bedroom was rather a tight squeeze. The cleaning was excellent, we had a cleaner every day, and the towels and bed linen were changed regularly. On our first walk into the complex the first thing we found was that both the pool bar and the outside snack bar were both closed. After speaking to other guests we discovered that these facilities had not been open in the 2 weeks prior to our arrival. It meant that guests needed to stand in a line at the indoor bar to get drinks and carry snacks from the main restaurant to the poolside. The next thing we found was that the indoor pool and sauna etc. were also closed. The restaurant was reasonably spacey, until on our 4th day a huge number of spanish pensioners arrived and filled it. Some of these people sat in the restaurant for the entire 2 hours of dinner, which meant that some all inclusive guests could not get a table, and ended up having to buy food at one of the local eateries. The food we did get was never hot, regardless of what time we decided to eat. Families with children should note that evening meals do not start until 8pm and finish 10pm. The indoor pool opened the day after the the spanish pensioners arrived !!!"

"We have just arrived back after a great week away. Albir Gardens were a great base for a good holiday. The apartmetns were very basic but did the job. The swimming pools were fantastic, clean and well looked after. Albir itself was full of places to eat and the view along the sea front was fantastic. The beach was not very good for swimming with little ones as it dropped away quite steeply. We spent most of our week on Benidorm beach, I would recommend the little bay around by the harbour. We took the children to Mundomar where they got into the water with the dolphins and had a picture taken. One very important tip I picked up was to buy a BonoBus on the bus. It cost 17 euro and you could use it every time you jumped on the bus, instead of each journey costing 1 euro it only cost 85 cents. You jusy swipe the card over the maching when you get on the bus."

"Hello me, my mum and my brotherwent there and my dad came a week later because we were there for 2 weeks and we all recomended that it was one of the best hotels that we have stayed at. A cleaner comes to your apartment to clean it every day. There are 3 pools one for the smaller children(aged 2 to 5), 1 for the older children(6 to 14) and 1 for the adulds and there are 4 bars around the pool, 2 for food and ice lollies and 2 for lollies and drinks. At night their is a show on every night and karioke too."

"We are timeshare owners for the last 20 years and decided for the first time in that time span to be brave!! We booked an on allocation on arrival holiday on the internet and arrived at Albir Garden to see a welcome sign the RCI(timeshare) logo on the wall. While it was not the Gold Crown or even the Silver Crown standard it was very good. Clean no bugs no dust, fridge didn't work on arrival , replaced within 30mins. Staff brlliant. I don't think non residents can get in to the complex very easily, there is quite good security. However all apartment units of 4 or 6 units need a key for the main door, so if anyone is gaining admittance who is not resident it should be easy to find the culprit. The apartments are quite basic but the one we stayed in was blissfully quiet. I hope to return to the resort in the future when we have run out or other places that we are fit to visit!!"

an enjoyable holiday
"we have just arrived back from a lovely relaxing holiday at the albir garden. We arrived on Saturday 19th August for 2 weeks. First impressions were good a nice clean reception, were the staff were very helpful. Rooms were basic but what do you expect your on holiday. All rooms had air- conditioning which we were grateful for as the temperatures were in the high 20, s. Rooms were clean and were a good size for us 2 adults and 2 children. The outdoor pools were great clean and tidy with lifeguards on duty until the pool closed at 8pm. We went self- catering, there was a great supermarket just across the road and alot of good eating places, the pizza was great. The complex has entertainment every nite, should it be a band or a reptile show or even flamengo dancing there was something to suit everyone. you are about a 20 minute walk from the pebble beach in Albir it is a beautiful beach but not good on the feet with the stones, Benidorm town has a beautiful beach also and is just a 15 minute bus ride on the number 10 bus which you can catch just outside the comlex. Benidorm town is very busy alot of shops so you need a few days to check them all out. Also there are different places in Benidorm to go to like Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Terra Mitica and last but not least Mundamar with the Dolphins. We had a lovely holiday and even though there is not a heck of alot to do in Albir we all had a great time and the kids just loved the pools, would go back again without a hesitation."

nice but .......
"we are still here in albir gardens and i thought i would write a report now coz im bored reception people ok except for the general franco impersonator she yes she !! is extremely rude and unhelpful and when you ask for even the most basic thing she is appallingly rude. apartments are very basic but funcional and lets be honest you only sleep there. the bar is under staffed you can wait up 30 mins for a drink the guys are very nice but extremely busy all the time. food is pretty much what you would expect from a 3 star place much the same every day but hot and fresh. entertainment, there are a number of entertainers but you would never guess, the only 1 who makes a real effort is the english guy steve he is always chatting to the clients weather they be brits, spanish or martian and he also does all the activities and is a star at night coz if he insn´t there then you get nothing in english. overall i would say we have had a good holiday but i don´t think i will go back"

"Having read some previous reviews, were a bit dubious about our visit. What a surprise! We have stayed in many self-catering apartments in Spain, but these were amongst the best. Perhaps not in terms of size or furnishings, but we had free air-conditioning (remote controlled), extra towels on request, very reasonable safety deposit charges, pleasant and efficient reception staff, and a brilliant rep with DirectHolidays. We requested a top floor apartment away from the noise of the pool area and this was done. You could have heard a pin drop late evening and through the night. Entertainment usual Spanish style, didn't bother us because we usually went out at night. Albir is a lovely town, lots of bars and restaurants. Will certainly visit again."

You get what you pay for.
"The reception staff were very good, as was the barman, who always remembered what it was we drank! The rooms were basic, very dusty, the balcony was dirty and the patio furniture was very dirty, no table out there either. We had ants visit us in their thousands, but the maid did leave us ant spray, which did work, but the cockroach was not a welcome visitor! (only the one). The food was bland and uninteresting, you had to time your visit to the restaurant, or else it got very busy and noisy. The pool was wonderful, one paddling pool for the children, a medium depth pool, and a deep pool for adults, plenty of sun beds, though I should imagine they all get used in the high season."
