Great hotel poor location
"Very chic hotel but overlooked industrial part of marina. Staff spoke english as well as I spoke spanish so we got along fine. Good new bus from airport every 20 mins C6 which runs every 20 mins and costs just 2 euros 60 cents. Bus stop just round corner from hotel. Hotel just a liitle too far from beach, shops, restaurants etc especially when it's hot. We walked off any excess eating & drinking!!"

Great base for a 5 day trip and no driving!
"We booked a last minute holiday independently and were pleasantly surprised with this hotel and again charmed by the city of Alicante having had a winter break once before. After reading some of the reviews of this hotel and the threat of working girls of the nocturnal variety lurking in the shadows, I can cetegorically say that it posed no problem whatsoever. In fact myself and my partner who are avid walkers only encountered two on our entire break and not as other reviews would have you believe - perhaps the time of year makes a difference? The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms very comfortable with all necessary facilities. It was also great to have a rooftop pool to chill out and enjoy the sun whilst the better half trawled the shops which were only a 5 minute walk away. Yes the beach and old town are a 15-20 min walk and the harbour a10 min walk but not at all strenuous. It's actually quite nice to get out of the centre and see some non high street shops and cafes. It might pose a problem if you have a young family or are less mobile. The reception staff are not the greatest and you would be better served asking at the tourist information for relevant travel information. Regards getting to and from the hotel there is a bus (C6) for 2.60 Euros and the stop just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. This bus runs every 20 minutes and takes 15 minutes from the hotel to the airport. It stops outside arrivals on the road the otherside of the 'package holiday coaches'. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any body looking for a base to explore the city on by foot and save some pennies if the more central ones are a little pricey."

Worth it for the rooftop pool alone!
"I went to this hotel by myself for 4 days of sun-seeking, choosing it because it looked nice and safe, and close to the beach. It was certainly very clean and lovely inside, and I really enjoyed the 15-20 min walk down to the beach past the lovely yacht club. It also seemed like a very safe location with the walk between it and the main beach/ shops area being along a main road. The rooms are a good size, the bathroom is lovely, and they have some nice touches such as providing bathroom accessories such as a little toothbrush kit and comb. Also great that they provided free soft-drinks and water in each room that were topped up every day. This saved a lot of hassle of trying to find a local shop, etc. What exceeded my expectations was the rooftop pool - I spent each morning there for several hours of quiet, relaxing time reading in the sun on one of their comfortable loungers. There are only about 6-8 loungers though so you need to be there as the pool opens to get one. The water is a brilliant cooldown from the hot sun. My only complaint is that I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to use the air-con!"

Lovely hotel in a good location
"The hotel was really lovely with a good inclusive breakfast. The staff were friendly, they coped well with our large group checking in and out and when room keys were lost etc. they had no problem sorting out a new one for us. The free mini bar was great, it meant you could take a drink with you to the beach and it was restocked every day. The rooms themselves were really nice - comfortable large beds, lovely bathroom (though no lock on the bathroom door) and modern furnishings. The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the nearest supermarket and a 5 minute walk to the quiet side of town (with a few nice shops and restaurants). It was a 15 minute walk to the main city centre street and the beach but as the weather was so nice and the walk was flat the whole way it was barely noticeable."

Nice hotel, awful location
"The hotel has an awful location (about 20 minutes walk from the beach and any tourist areas) and permanently has prostitutes located outside. They were rude, aggressive, abusive and not only verbally but physically abused my party. For this reason alone I would not recommend this hotel as it was very off putting and not worth it as the hotel is quite a walk from the local amenities. But the hotel itself was lovely, rooms very nice and staff friendly but the location is awful."

Lovely hotel - would highly recommend it!
"Stayed here for 3 nights on an 'oldies girly long weekend'. Rooms were lovely and liked the free minibar - although mostly soft drinks. Swimming pool on the roof was great after a hot day sightseeing but it was fairly difficult to get a sunbed. There could easily have been another half dozen sunbeds without overcrowding although I suspect that at most times of the year this is a business man's hotel with not a lot of call for swimming pool or sunbeds. Yes, the hotel was a fair distance from the port and old town but there were plenty shops and cafés round about. Was quite concerned about the prostitutes when reading other reviews but can honestly say I didn't see any (or am I blind?). Breakfast at weekends was on special offer and half price and worth the 6⬠cost. Would definitely recommend this hotel for tourists."

Clean, stylish hotel
"I have stayed in the AC Alicante three times now and I have never been disappointed yet. It is a very clean and stylishly designed hotel and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpfull. The pool on the roof is very nice with views across Alicante and it has a small bar up there too. It can get busy depending on what time of year you go. In May time you probably wont have any trouble getting a sun lounger and having a swim but at the end of June or later you will struggle as it will be busy. The hotel has a small but good gym and a sauna and jacuzzi which are finished to a high standard. The mini bar in the room is free and is re-stocked every morning so I would recommend emptying it every day and taking the drinks with you when you go to the beach etc because then it will be full again when you return in the evening. Have never used the restaraunt so cant comment we always eat out in town. The hotel is within easy walk of the town centre and shops and is right by the bus stop (at rear of hotel) to take you to the beaches further along the coast like Urbanova. The hotel does have a bit of a building site next door but this is Spain; you'd be hard pushed to find somewhere that doesn't have a half finished building site close by...its half the charm! Thats about it. Would recommend the hotel to anyone."

AC ALICANTE VERY GOOD
"The hotel is very modern and is finished to a high standard all round. The rooms are spacious and very confortable, excellent bathrooms and free minibar which is re stocked everyday. Only one english channel on tv though, CNN which can get a bit monotonous. Breakfast at the hotel was superb but no cooked food available here for breakfast, continental style. The roof top pool and hot tub are excellent and good to relax in after a day walking around. Its a 20 minute walk to the busy marina and beaches and a 15 minute walk into town. This was the only down side and it did get a bit tiring having to walk 20 minutes back to the room every day, not as central as it appears. Overall the hotel was excellent but a bit out of centre for folk wanting a tourist stay in alicante."

Clean and nice hotel
"My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights to celebrate new year in Alicante. The hotel seamed new and very clean all over. Beautiful bathroom, but the door was only a glass door that could not be entirely closed. No lock eiter so there is not much privacy if you share the room with someone. The free minibar was great! We only had breakfast at the hotel once as it was extremely expensive, but from what we could see, the food selection was quite good. We also had dinner in the restaurant once and it was ok considering that this part of Spain does not have the best food traditions (in my opinion anyway...) As other reviewers have mentioned there are some prostitutes outside the hotel, but they never bothered us. It is a good 15-20 min walk into the old part of Alicante where most bars and restaurants are, but it never felt as an unsafe area."

A nice hotel, slightly outside the centre, but very smart
"I have stayed in other AC hotels in Spain and Italy, in general they are very good with nice rooms, many times they are a bit too expensive. This was not expensive at all, and the room (a superior room) was absolutely perfect, large, with free minibar, with a nice lounge chair, a cd player with a house CD (how annoyiing when you have a CD player and no CDs to play) and a flat screen. It is true, the hotel is not in the very center of Alicante, a quick look at any map will tell you so before reserving it. But it's not on the outskirts or anything, within 100 metres there are shops (I think a previous reviewer must have gone in the wrong direction) and the station is only 500 metres from the hotel. It's only 10 minutes walk however, so no big deal. As for prostitutes near the hotel, yes there are some (there are many in central Alicante as well) but they will not talk to you or approach you in any way. Another positive, I arrived very late (1.30 am), but it was absolutely no problem, there was someone at the reception who checked me very quickly and the night guard outside the hotel to make sure nothing happened to me. Overall a very nice hotel and very good price/quality ratio!"

Not a good hotel at all
"Well I'd like to start by saying that this was the second summer I've been travelling around spain - this time I visited 17 cities and stayed for at least 1 night in 12 of them. This summer the city we choose to stay longer was alicante. As we are usual clients of Ac Hotels, we stayed at Ac Alicante. This was the worst place we ever stayed, not for the hotel itself but for all surrounding it. First of all there's absolutly nothing around the hotel...Only dust and constructions everywhere. The cafe/restaurante/bar more close was about 20minutes walking on a long road were the only thing that kept my atention was the whores all over. Even at the Ac Alicante's door they were, really young girls with little or even no skirt at all and just it, one night even a couple of travestis where there...really really bad enviorment. The recepcionist - the night one - seemed to know about this situation and even laugh at it...it was really embaracing. The only thing I really disliked about the hotel itself was the car parking - it is like a maze - as we have a big car it was really tiring just to think about it. So we were planing to stay there about 6 nights, but only stayed 3 and then moved on. So in the end - the hotel was good but really NOT in a good place."
