Is exactly as shown on the website - beautiful, great service, clean
"The title sums it up - from being met by Amr at the airport to being delivered back at the end of our week, everything was exactly as promised - and then some! A beautiful apartment (no. 17) with fantasic views over the ocean and Funchal, the regular maid serivce (what a treat in self catering!), and superb service. We are looking forward to returning in July."

"We stayed at Palheiro Village Maderia for two weeks in May 09. From the point of collection by Amr @ Funchal Airport to experiencing Palheiro Village it was a total delight.
The apartments and villas are first class, impeccably clean and are of a very high standard. The estate including the communal pool is superb with great views over Funchal. The Golf course is a delight with a and has an excellent club house, again with great views of Funchal. The Palheiro gardens and Monte / Botanical are worth a visit.
This will be the first of many visits to Palheiro Village. It is reassuring to know that the quality shown on the Internet is reflected in the apartments and villas. Great people, great staff and a great location.
English Church on a Thursday evening for some classical singers with a string quartet and favourites from Puccini, Les Mis and Phantom - superb.
Finally did not hire a car for the first time in years. No 38 bus stops outside the village regularly and takes you to the centre of Funchal. Pick up a travel card for GIO bus and travel for 80 cents per trip. Used local taxis recommended by Amr which were value for money and always punctual."

Simply the best
"We have just returned from Madeira and although the weather could have been a little better I can not fault the Palheiro village in any way. The estate is very well looked after and villa 49 which is next to the swimming pool is simply the best accommodation I have stayed in. All creature comforts were catered for including an excellent service from Amr and Louisa who looked after all our requirements. We were picked up from the airport, shown the local area and on arrival Amr had bourght our selected groceries and even put the underfloor heating on for us, a very nice gesture. All three bedrooms in this amazing villa have stunning sea views and the main balcony, one of several looks down across Funchal, an incredible view especially at night. I would suggest a car to see the sights although we managed with a taxi and walking. One day we walked from the Palheiro Gardens levarda to Monte which took about three hours then took the cable car down to Funchal, a very enjoyable day but make sure you have a good map as the entrance is not where you would expect. Can I take this opportunity once again to thank Amr for all his help and will hope to visit the villa again soon."

Flower Festival and Golf
"We have just returned from Palheiro Village in a one bedroomed apartment. The apartment is built to a very high standard and very comfortable with great views of Funchal. We played golf at Palheiro (30% off green fees for guests) and really enjoyed the challenging course. The swimming pool on the complex is brand new and a welcome relaxing area after golf/activities. The village is very peaceful. Amr the Assistant Manager is a treasure, very helpful with everything and nothing is too much trouble. A car is a must have and Amr can arrange this for you.
We were very lucky to time our holiday with the Flower Festival, see photos.

"Excellent apartment, extremely comfortable with beautiful views over Funchal.
The swimming pool area was great and extemely well done.
If you are into Golf, there are 2 great courses, which thoroughly recommended, also the restaurant at the Palheiro club.
Very good restaurants to find in & around Funchal.
Wonderful scenery on the island, which unfortunately we were not able to see all of it, but will definately return in the future."

Best accommodation in Madeira!
"We've been to Madeira 4 times now, and stayed in various 5 * hotels. As we now have 2 young boys, we were looking for more space than the standard hotel room. The apartments in the Palheiro resort were just perfect. We only had a 1-bedroomed apartment, but it was easily big enough for the 4 of us. Spotlessly clean, modern, stylish, functional yet cosy all at the same time, we felt instantly at home here. The views from the balcony and the bedroom window were amazing - you are quite high up so you can see over all of Funchal, and when you look out of the window from the bed you feel like you're in a ship, looking out to sea.
The pool was great, with a cafe open every day, and a wonderfully friendly waitress who was great with the children. Pool even warm enough for our toddler to swim in, although we did have fabulous weather.
We ate in the golf club restaurant some nights - ideal for children who need to eat early. Good basic food, expensive though given the value of £/Euro.
We will definitely go back. We love Madeira but it can feel a little formal in some of the hotels when you have young children - this was the perfect place for relaxing as a family."

Luxury Place, I could stay for a loooong time
"Great comfort, top quality house, perfect for children. We stay in apartment 32, only one thing could be better, be a bit far from the motorway... but it was a great pleasure at all."

A relaxing, no hassle, holiday in lovely surroundings
"We very much enjoyed our stay at Palheiro village thanks to the kind welcome from Amr and the lovely apartment we stayed in.
The apartment is very clean and tastefully decorated with all the comforts you need. The view across to the sea is stunning, especially from the pool area. The pool is fantastic especially as it's heated - at 24degrees c it can feel warmer that outside!
Madeira is a great island to visit with plenty to do if you like walking and mountainous scenery. Every corner you drive round you get a new view. A car is recommended although there are plenty of buses and taxis if you want to use local transport.
We spent one afternoon on a catermaran watching dolphins swim with great views of the island. The caves in the north are interesting and a good rainy day activity.
The weather resembles the water cycle exactly! Sunny in the morning... then the hot air rises and forms clouds in the mountainous centre of the island by lunch time, which are oftern burnt off by the end of the day. Because of this, it's best to plan your day round the weather then you won't be dissappointed and you can pack in plenty of things to do and visit.
This is the second time we've visited the island and we were not dissapointed."

First time in Madeira...
"This was our first visit to Madeira. The Palheiro Estate was recommended by friends. Information was readily available via the Estate website and booking was straightforward, thanks to the assistance of Amr. No doubt payment arrangements will be improved soon with the introduction of direct EFT.
Our apartment was perfect, had stunning views over Funchal and had ideal access to the rest of the Estate and the Island's transport system. It was well-equipped and furnished, ideal for four people.
We enjoyed our golf, swimming, tennis and garden tour, all within the Estate, as well as trips and walks to other parts of the island.
I think it will take several visits before we fell we've experienced everything Madirea has to offer."
