10 Traveller reviews from Holiday Watchdog
"Lovely clean hotel, very convenient for metro and the tour bus stops right outside the hotel. Room was clean (could have been larger especially the bathroom, but this is a city hotel). Had room on 12th floor at back of hotel with views of the castle and river. The gym, jacuzzi and steam room (and sauna which I didnât use) was nice, clean and all free. All a bit on the small side, but if you go at the right time you can have the whole place to yourself! There is no charge for the in-room safe. Breakfast was very good, wide choice of hot and cold foods and fresh cut fruit (melon, pineapple, papaya, mango â although sometimes just melon and mango). My only complaint was the dinner we had one night in the hotel restaurant. The fish of the day was monkfish, which took two small mouthfuls to eat and it was extremely salty. We should have complained, but neither of us were in the mood. We decided to have our dessert (cake with a scoop of ice cream) brought up to our room, together with the rest of the wine. There was no ice cream with the cakes so the waitress had to go back to get some. A telephone call was made to our room notifying us that it would cost 5 euros for the ice cream and was that okay â I said yes. We ended up with two FULL portions of ice cream. Then when we checked out, we were charged 7 euros for the ice creams and a 5 euro service charge. We didnât even know the hotel had a 5 euro service charge, but we paid up (again because neither of us wanted to make a fuss). The bar snacks and drinks however, were satisfactory. Overall, a very nice hotel, just avoid eating at the restaurant."

Everything was great apart from one thing...
"The hotel was good overall with modern building, big and clean rooms, usual hotel breakfast, welcoming fruits and water upon your arrival and every personnel being polite and always helpful. There were no problems or complaints about the rooms, nor any other hotel facility but we came across some problems with the service. Upon check-out we were charged for the things (from the mini-bar) that we didn't even take (5 euros). Also during our stay there some underwear disappeared (no idea who could need someone else's pants!!!). Summarizing the above mentioned must say that it seems that the hospitality overall is not yet well spread in the country. However it didn't spoil the holiday and we enjoyed our stay there and the country itself."

Comfort at Sana Lisboa
"Sana Lisboa Hotel is a new hotel in the city. It is well located near the Praca Marques de Pombal and Eduardo VII Park, with easy access to bus routes and the subway, and within a low cost taxi ride to the Baixa and Alfama parts of the city. Our room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was excellent."

Great hotel in a fab city
"I stayed in the sana park lisboa in October 06 with my partner and friends. The hotel is fairly close to the main tourist centre, about 15-20 minute walk which is fine on a nice day but it is only 5 euro or so in a taxi to Rossio square. The rooms are excellent with spacious bathrooms and great views of the city. The views range between the park and the castle. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and all the complementary snacks and cakes with beers/coffees are a nice touch. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody wanting to stay in Lisbon."

"Recently stayed at this hotel for several days in April (over 2 different occasions). It is a new, modern hotel with relatively large rooms, a good size bathroom and very quiet. Had all mod cons and great pillows. As with a lot of hotels these days the beds are very hard. Two queen beds in room. It did not have a balcony but you were able to open the window for a little fresh air when the room gets rather hot. Excellent buffet breakfast. Located on a main road in the more modern part of Lisbon, it has an underground station nearby and a few small cafes. I would be happy to stay at this hotel again."

Nice place, great location
"Great, clean, upscale rooms! Very spacious and the bathrooms are VERY nice. $10 Euros a day for internet access. Does not have a pool but has a small workout facility, steam & Sauna, whirlpool, nice showers. The restaurant served a nice breakfast. The lunch was a buffet for $19.95 Euro, which was more than what we wanted to spend for lunch. We found the prices for lunch/dinner (in the lobby) and drinks were on the high side compared to other nearby areas. The bartender was very helpful with suggestions as to where to go and things to do. Nice piano music in the evenings. The Front desk staff were on the aloof side. This hotel is in a great location, next to the Metro station and within walking distance of restaurants and some shops."

total comfort and best veiw
"This is wonderful modern hotel, located conviniently in the city center, near metro station and en route from Airport to the Railway station Cais do Sodre, so you can take Aerobus. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, beautiful bathroom. Just make sure to ask river view, as it is superb!"

Great modern hotel
"I was originally looking for a nice period hotel for me and my girlfriend but was recommended the Sana as a good, less expensive, alternative. Booked the 'romantic holiday' package and got a nice room on the 11th floor with views and they delivered a bottle of bubbly every day to our room, which was lovely. The service was always excellent and the people friendly. The second morning a couple with a baby moved in to the room next door (which had a connecting door). The baby spent a lot of its time crying and this was not doing any good for the 'romantic holiday' vibe so we asked if we could move rooms. They didnt have another room free of the same type but upgraded us for free to a suite on the ninth floor, which was very kind of them and indicative of the hotel being that bit better than many. The only negative comment I have about the place is that we ordered some sandwiches to be brought to the room at midnight one night and they weren't very good. But this is hardly a big thing when compared to everything else being so lovely. Breakfast was excellent, and the choice of channels on the tv good. Shower powerful and hot, bath a decent size. Bed big and comfy."

Good Hotel, not the best location for tourist!
"The Sana Lisboa Hotel was nice and clean. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The Breakfast was great too! The hotel is a bit far from the "main" lisbon attractions. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the center of Lisbon. But, the Metro Station is just a few meters from the Hotels front door and runs until 1:00AM. The hotel itself is very nice. I could see it more as a business hotel than a tourist hotel. We did have a lovely stay, the location just wasn't "convenient" to run back to if you forgot something or if you wanted to drop something off. We just had to be 'prepared' for the entire day when we left the hotel in the morning. Overall, we did like the hotel but, if we could, we would stay closer to the center of town."

Excellent value for money
"I have stayed quite a few times in this hotel and find it excellent value for money. Very central, with 3 metro stations within 5 minutes walk. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean, the design is contemporary and stylish, the public spaces bright and airy. Very good staff, as mentioned above it can get quite busy with conferences and meetings but mostly they manage to cope. I've stayed in quite a few hotels in Lisbon, and can easily recommend this one."
