"First visit to roche and would highly recommend these apartments, on arrival we were met by the very helpfull laura who showed us to our room which was on two floors, large bedroom & bathroom upstairs and lounge & fully fitted kitchen downstairs. Only 5-10 min walk to the front with plenty of bars & restraunts available, stayed for 1 week and could of easily stayed for two, most enjoyable."

"We returned last week from Castelos Da Rocha Apartments. We were very pleased on arrival as 2 bedroom apartment was really big and spacious. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge / dining / kitchen and aircon. Security was great with 4 bar door locking system and shutters on all external windows. Pool area was clean and pleasant. Laura (Manager) was great and ever so friendly. We didnt realise how close we were to the front until we walked it and it took us 5 min. Pool bar is a little expensive and towels were only changed once through the week but with a washer in the apartment it wasnt an issue as I just put them through with our smalls! I definately would return here as perfect location as very quiet at night and 5 min walk from all the bars / restaurants. Loved every minute of our stay"

"We have just returned from a lovely stay at the Castelos Da Rocha Apartments. We had a fabulous time. These apartments are clean and well equipped with fridge freezer and washing machine. There is plenty of space with bedrooms upstairs. The pool area is well kept and the gardens provide plenty of shade in the afternoon. It was a real bonus to never have to fight for a sunbed even at 3pm in the afternoon. The cafe on site(next to pool) is a nice area to sit and enjoy a snack and a cool beer. The staff are very friendly and helpful; especially Laura who looks after the apartments. We are a family with two teenagers of 13 and 15 years; we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Algarve and would recommend the Castelos Da Rocha Apartments to anyone who is looking for a quiet complex. "Went there on August 27th 2009, We arrived aprox 6pm then greeted by Laura and her family they was a huge help, she then took us to our room we had booked a 2 bed app and was a nice suprise to have a 2-floor app! It was spacious for the 4 of us it included a fitted kitchen, with a kettle ect.The maids came every other day. My sister and her 2 chidren also came but was in the opposite building the reason they didnt have the same app as Laura gave them somewhere they didnt have stairs as they had a toddler with them. There was 2 pool's one near the pool bar and one near Laura's office, You could only get in by having a key, and not everyone came to that pool so it was nice and quiet. Only a short stroll away was the beach, shops, resteraunts, pubs. It was very busy at night but quiet through the day, would defanatly recomend Taffy's bar & Claire's resteraunt. It was very hot and sunny, Would definatly go back there in the future."

"I (female) travelled with a female friend. She had never flown or travelled abroad before. These are the best apartments I have ever stayed in. Location excellent - quiet away from the buzz of the night life but only 5 minutes walk to shops and nightlife. Laura in the office is the most helpful person I have come across. Everything you need in an apartment. Pool and pool bar service excellent. The sunbeds could do with being renewed and perhaps cushions provided."

"We stayed at Castelos da Rocha in Praia da Rocha for one week, we booked a one bedroom apartment and was given a very spacious two bedroomed apartment. The apartment was immaculate with a fully fitted kitchen, even a washing machine! The apartment was on two floors with a lovery half spiral staircase leading to the bedrooms. The main double bedroom had an ensuite and then there was the main bathroom and s twin bedded second bedroom, both bedrooms had a balcony, one overlooking the pool area and the other the front gardens. The manageress and her son where very friendly and very helpful. The beach was a 5-10 mins walk up a hill, with miles of lovely sand. The restauarants and shops are all located above the beach area and ypu can find any type of food you would want to eat. I would definitely go back any time for a lovely relaxing holiday. The apartment was far enough away from the shops/restaurants so you didn't get disturbed by the noise at night but near enough to stroll to!"

"booked this family run apartment at a great price on travelrepublic and got more than we thought we'd get. on arrival we were greeted by a nice young man who was courteous and helpful and showed us to our large apartment - split level with lounge and kitchenette on ground floor and large bedroom and bathroom up the spiral staircase. the place was spotless and the facilities perfect, boasting large fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, toaster, kettle, iron board etc. verandas on both floors with metal roller shutters for security and to keep the sun out of the room added the safety factor. bathroom was perfect and any accommodation with a good shower gets the thumbs up from me! small pool in quiet garden area with a cafe/bar was great for chilling by and the beach was a mere 5mins stroll away. the beaches were the nicest and cleanest my girlfriend and i had come across and boasted many eateries along the stretch. a very picturesque setting indeed! we hired a car for the week and would always recommend this to tourists as there are so many more beautiful towns and beaches in the area, which is also a haven for golf fanatics too.......although i'd recommend booking golf online prior to arriving as its very expensive to play a spur of the moment round of golf once you add club rental, buggy, course fees etc. the nightlife is good although the strip can become tedious after a few days.....i've never seen so many irish bars in one resort!! a bit off putting to be honest. there are loads of restaurants to choose from however if you're after authentic portuguese grub you'll have to venture away from the strip and probably drive to another resort. the menu was very british and repetitive we found in most restaurants. all in all though a great holiday destination and we will definitely be returning."

"We were really looking forward to staying in these apartments as had read several reviews before we booked. We were put in a differant apartment block from the one on the photos. It wasnt very clean, the floor was filthy & even though I swept it our feet were black. The maids didnt do anything other then empty the bin. Towels were only changed once & sheets not at all. The walls are so thin & we were kept awake at night by the people in the apartment above shouting & moving furniture until 3am some mornings. The noise from the main road running at the side of our apartment went on day and night. There is extensive building & road work going on all around the apartments starting at 7.30am each morning. The constant noise from all the work was terrible & very unrelaxing. We were very dissapointed and wouldnt ever stay there again."

"After reading reveiws we were looking forward to staying here, very dissapointed. Appartment very dirty and dingy, place surrounded by half empty tower blocks, and more under construction. Asked Laura if there was another appartment as one we were given so dirty. She did give us another in 'better' block, it was a little cleaner but I still had to go over it myself. We did have a good holiday but wouldn't go back. Not much to see in Algarve."

"Have just returned from a weeks holiday in castelos da rocha with my husband and two sons aged 8 and 6. We had a great time, apartment was large and spotless. The staff could not have been more friendly, in fact, Laura let us stay in our apartment until 1.30pm on our final day which made such a difference as it meant we could make the most of our final hours there. Apartments are in a great location just 5 mins from the strip and the wonderful beach. Lots of lovely restaurants to chose from. Would recommend Taffy's bar for a drink, Steve and his team are great fun and give everyone a warm welcome. All in all would go back again tomorrow, what more can I say???? "

"on arrival to our accomodation after our flights were delayed we were greeted by Lauras (the owner) son who showed us to our room and had already bought us water and milk, i was amazed at how nice and friendly this was. The apartments are in a great location a 2 minute stroll to the beach front which is packed full of bars, restaurants and shops and fantastic views. On the beach there are tons of places to eat from and if your with children there is a small playground which my little girl loved. I reccomend eating in Atlantis restaurant as the food there was beautiful which is why we went back there for a second taste, To get to these apartments we payed 100 euros for a private transfer which cut out the hassle of coaches the company we used was algarve 365 and pete was really chatty, Pete is also from the uk originally so there is no language barrier. Overall my little girl, partner and myself will be going back. I have paid alot more money for holidays in the past and this was by far a cheap holiday in a fantastic place."
