"Went for a break from the terrible weather and wasnt dissapointed.!! The hotel was a villa style complex and room 104 was probably the beter of the rooms with a large balcony overlooking the pool. Rosa and family helper of many tasks- roger and the guests made it a very pleasant stay. Breakfast ample as who wants to stuff there faces and cram in full english every day. it was great to get up in the morning with the sun shining the walks breathtaking and the food light and ample for the climate. i enjoyed my stay there and hope to visit again some time soon. the only hiccup was the air con- it was a fan which wasnt up to the heat - but amusing all the same as me and my partner fought over it nightly."

Friendliest hotel I've stayed in
"Booked this as a late deal and were a bit worried it would be somewhere totally out of the way as we are a young couple in our twenties. We needn't have worried. Although the hotel is in a more quiet residential area which keeps it nice and peaceful, it is 5 minutes to the main road with bars and restaurants and a further 5-10 minutes to the centre of Olhas D'Agua which has plenty more bars, restaurants and shops. The beaches are a little bit of a walk and aren't that large, but if you're more of a pool person, it's great as there is always enough space and a nice atmosphere with the bar serving snacks and drinks all day. Our room was nice and always clean, it had a double bed but no balcony (it seems you get one or the other). However even though we went in the middle of summer, our room wasn't hot as we got a nice breeze through the large window and did have a fan in our room. The fridge is in the wardrobe and does buzz a bit but its fairly quiet once the wardrobe door is shut. The bar is a great place to sit and have a few drinks with other guests and the bbq/karoke night once a week is fantastic value and great fun. Albuferia is only 5 minutes in a taxi (which were a little difficult to catch during the Portuguese holiday season) and a bit further still to the old town but still feels easily accessible. I would definitely come here again for a chilled out break within easy access of nightlife and other activities should I want them."

"Although the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel facilities mainly of a resonable standard we feel that the downsides should be pointed out. It is quite a trek to get to the beaches and not a particularly scenic one at that in places to make it interesting on the way. Mosquitos in the room were a considerable problem and this was in mid October! We suffered some nasty bites most nights. Breakfast was a little too basic with cornflakes or muesli being the only cereal choices. It has to be said, nevertheless, that the bread was excellent. Our main complaint concerned the position of our room, no.105. This is situated at the head of the staircase leading directly from the bar. Every night my wife and myself who are both pensioners and do not keep late nights were unable to get off to sleep until the bar closed at midnight due to being able to hear every conversation and all the laughter etc.from the customers who were usually most of the other residents. Friday night Karaoke which went on until half past midnight was unbearable. The nearby restaurants are very good although somewhere along the line during the week of our stay I contracted a bad dose of campylobacter. This started the night before leaving and I was quite ill for over a week on returning home."

"Had a great week at this residencia. Rooms large, own safety deposit box have to pay 12 euros a week . Only real problem could be if staying in August when it is really hot. Our room had large wardrobe, two singles, seperate area for large fridge and large bathroom but no air con or even fans, last couple of days very hot and even with balcony door open it was stifling. Pool area very good and only about 18 rooms so does not get full. Staff very good. All in all very good for the price. Area around very quiet as about 50 metres off the main road, plenty of restaurants, cafes etc within walking distance."

Quiet Hotel in residencial area
"Just returned from staying at Agua Marinha for a week, we had booked the accomodation separately. We was allocated a ground floor room, beware of mosquito's, the room was spacious and clean, big bathroom. Room is complete with a fridge and kettle. The fridge is very noisy and took a couple of nights to get used to. overall the hotel was well kept, towels were changed every day except Sunday & bed made, and bathroom always cleaned. Friendly staff. Only a quick walk up the hill into the town and few restaurants on the right hand side which are nearer. Would return to hotel at same time of year. Zoomarine park a must visit for any age the best dolphins show I have seen for a long while and the new 4d cinema great!"

Relaxing, peaceful and no kids!
"The staff were friendly and very eager to please whilst being prepared to let you do your own thing. The accommodation is comfortable but not extravagent abd contains a well-maintained, clean pool with bar and snack area. It is a quiet place to stay well within easy walking distance of many varied restaurants and small bars. There is an English restaurant - Tiffany's - at the end of the road - which is well worth a visit if you're missing the English cuisine! Also, there are excellent places to visit for great fish and steak dishes. Highly recommended."

Peaceful week at the agua marinha
"Enjoyed a relaxing week at this hotel. A quiet location up a side road from the main coast road. Several excellent restaurants within 400 yards. Try the walk along the coast road to albuferia, took us about 45 mins to the centre. Taxi back only 6 euros. Local beach about 15 mins away with nice sand and a rarity- a well kept Public Convenience! Ideal location if you prefer a relaxed holiday - no nightlife nearby. Try sitting on the local beach watching the small fishing craft unloading."
