"just came back from santa eulalia was not happy as suppose to be in dom pancho but closed for referb 3 weeks before arriving in portugal. staying at the hotel i found the staff was not helpful at all kept saying dont understand or sorry not sure what you talking abouthad to wait 10min why the receptionist finished talking to the bar staff before coming to see us, one problems was if you dont want to go out and stay in all you have is portugal channels no english as most of the guests english staying and if you go in the bar it was always football on every night and if you asked for an english channel there just said no football is on, so you had to go out and even the pubs had football on to. also i had to go into another hotel to get information on places to go and to find out how to get around portugal as the staff didnt know what bus want into faro and when we wanted to speck to the holiday rep she wasnt there only on a friday and the holiday was coming to and end then. so i wouldnt come back to this hotel i gave this hotel a 1/10. 1 good point a guy called dario was really nice in the bar and did tell us were to go and eat so he was helpful thanks dario."

brilliant for young people
"Myself and a group of friends stayed at this hotel in August 05. We found the staff generally ok-they usually spoke pretty good english and were helpful if you asked for help with most things eg calling taxis. The rooms were rather hot and slightly cramped for 4 people sharing but you get what you pay for really!! The only downside is that we had an invasion of ants on our balcony for the ENTIRE week we were there-on complaining several times to the receptionist at various times of the day and night still nothing was done. Eventually the ants found their way into our beds and possesions yet still nothing was done. Eventually when the cleaner came to see what we knew was an ants nest attached to our balcony he tried to tell us its was a birds nest-never mind the fact that there was about 1,000 ants marching to and fro. We spent most of our week sleeping in the living room which was slightly uncomfortable!! The pool was fine, the grassy area near the beachside bar was lovely and well maintained. We found that the hotel was closer than we thought to the nightlife and could be walked if you dont mind a long drunken stumble for about 20minutes. There was a fantastic supermarket just around the corner from this hotel which stocked everythng we needed which was really helpful. Overall a good choice for a cheap-as-chips holiday."

"Just returned from santa eulalia beach club apartments and had a fantastic time! The hotel was really lovely!Very clean;maids came in every two days and changed towels, cleaned floors etc etc!!We never had a pool view which we requested which was a little disapointing as the hotel is on a main road so it was quite noisy!!
The pool was of average size, which included a liitle childrens section. The main pool had a shallow section but the deep end was very deep!!Very clean!!Plenty of sun loungers and a big grass area next to the pool which i found really nice!!
The snack bar was average priced and great food( cheese toasties were fab)!!
We found the location of the hotel situated in a great spot!!If you turned left and walked down the road the beach was on your right(about a ten min walk)!!Turning right out of the hotel you reached the 'strip'-great places to eat and drink!I would recommend the 'cafe del mar', Linekars, and the bar with the bull outside-we had some great nights there!!
For a fantastic cheap breakfast go to 'Laras place'(right out of the hotel and its on your right after the round about)it was three euros for a full english! Also a chippy From 1o clock!!Great food!!
I would recommend going to slide and splash-it cost us twenty euros which included transport-little cheaper for children!!Brilliant day out for everyone!!
Be aware of the paths in Albufeira-they are so slippy! We were sure they had been polished!!
All in all we had a fantastic time and would definately recommend it!!"

good hotel only
"been to portugal july 2006. the hotel was very nice clean and friendly but it's not for Kids.
1) no where 4 kid's at night no arcades near by except a playstation place (closes at 11)
2) unless you a good walker the beaches are just to much for younger kid's. there are two beaches close 2 the hotel 1 to the left and 1 to the right never went 2 the left beach maybe it's better but the right beach is a very steep hill going down and very steep going back up and don't wear flip flops as you will slip (i did)
3) the strip. it's so far away a good 10 mintues walk (kind of boring if u hate walking like me)
4) the price of everything it's very Expensive 20 euro's for a meal of 3 adult's
good points (yes i found a few)
1) the tom & jerry place on the strip very nice for dinner 3 euro's for a small egg 1 saugage 2 bacon very nice
2) the hotel pool side bar hotdog's 1 euro 50 cents very nice
the hotdog's and chips very nice
3) the pool cold but very nice if it's very hot
4) the hotel room very big (bathroom very small)
the main problem's for my family was we went with 7 people 3 people sharing 1 room and 4 people sharing the other the room with 4 people was setup 4 3 people (3 towel's) and the room setup for 3 people was setup 4 2 people ( 2 Towel's ) the air Conditioning unit is on the wall in bedroom but very high so mind your step turing it on unless u pay for the remote (5 euro's) 4 the week not worth it just turn it on yourself the safe is good 30 euro's 15 euro's get retured when u leave. didn't see the hotel rep once in the week i was there so don't hold your breathe finding 1 and the people behind the reception desk doesn't understand anything so don't ask where anything nearby is because they don't have 1 clue i asked for a arcade he said " huh " more times then a delf person.
overall the weather was mega great
the pool mega great
the food mega great
for kid's = go somewhere else
oh the porugal people really don't like us brit's my girlfriend 2 month's pregnant got smacked in the stomach by a portugal women 4 no reason and didn't Apologize one bit so mind them portugal people."

Santa eulalia Aparthotel
"I just returned from the Santa Eulalia Aparthotel last weekend and found it very clean, and welcoming. I was there with my husband and two teenage children.
We enjoyed eating at various restaurants and found the following ones very good, friendly and value for money.
Annabells, Papa Joe's, Little Britain, Happy House (chinese restaurant) and Casa Velha. All of which were within a ten minute walk of the apartments. Luis Bar on the corner, at the roundabout was run by a very helpful and friendly chap and was very good value as well at 1euro for soft drinks and one euro 25 cents for a beer.
The apartments bar was very good but did tend to be a bit more expensive for both beer two euros fifty cents and soft drinks at one euro eighty cents for a can. We tended to drink cans because there is so much ice put in the drinks that there is very little room for the drink and cans tended to be better value for money. There is also a snack bar outside in the pool garden which served Hot dogs, Toasties and Chips between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
For the scots among the readers then you will be pleased to know that Irn-Bru is available in cans at various locations including the apartment bar!
The pool was not as big as it looked in the pictures and as there were a lot of children there when we went it did tend to get a bit busy, although this didn't bother us it may be helpful for you to know this.
The room we were in was at the back of the apartments and overlooked tennis courts and the garden area of apartments behind the property. It was very quiet and peaceful to sit out on the balcony.
Toasters were available to hire for 6 euros a week and safes 15 euros. The air con in the rooms was 15 euros a week but that is for the remote control and if you just switch it on at the unit then it doesn't cost anything (at least we did!).
The maids came in most days and changed the towels twice a week where the sheets were only changed once a week. The rubbish was emptied on every visit and the floors were cleaned on every visit as well. We found the room very clean and well laid out with a bedroom area which could be partitioned off with sliding doors if you wished.
The apartment also had an internet cafe with two computers in it this cost 1 euro for 10 mins and went down really well with my teenage children as well as myself.
We also booked a couple of trips through the reception and where the trip to Zoomarine cost the same as our tour company 21.50 euros, the trip to Splash and Slide was on special offer at 20 euros and was cheaper than the tour company offered. The half day market trip was 10 euros with the apartments and it was 17.50 with our tour company so it pays to check this out before booking any trips."

Absoultely Fantastic Holiday!!
"Myself aged 21 and my b/friend aged 22 Went to Santa Elulia on 15th June 06. Weather for the rest of the week was fab. Our hotel was situated 10 mins (right out of the hotel) was the 'strip' and 5 mins (left out the hotel then 1st right) was the beach. Both were fab.
This holiday is ideal for anyone wishing to have a quiet relaxing time or even a holiday with fun and loud nightlife.
As you may of gathered we went during the World Cup and the atmosphere was Fab!!! Everyone is very friendly (Especially hotel staff) and they all speak really good english. Weather was late 20's/30's each day we were there and i came back with a great tan!!!
Waterpark Slide and Splash is well worth a visit! Got burnt that day though being little kiddies on the slides all day!!
Food very cheap and a big Reccomendation to the Coyote Bar about 2 mins right of the hotel - they are always watching your glasses until you've nearly finished and keep topping you up!! 1 Euro per large beer which was fab! Food was also goo there too.
Ate in the 'Silver Pint' 2 nights we were there, Great value for money and the lamb chops were lush!
Hotel very clean there is a nice grassy area in which you can relax and sunbathe (always beds free although some iritating people do try and reserve the beds at 8am in the morning!) Pool looked nice too although a few kids in it splashing about enjoying themselves.
The hotel bar is same prices for beer as in England so i dont know how people can moan that its expensive!! I go on holiday to splash out not to try and find the cheapest place to drink in!!
Overall we had no problems whatsoever with the area or hotel and would definately go back but maybe in a hotel on the beach as it is a bit of a mission walking up and down cardiac hill every day! I would definately reccomend to all ages!"

"had a fantastic time the hotel was great, the staff was very helpful and pleasent, The pool was empty so had lots of fun bombing and making waves.. The rooms were clean spacious and inviting after a night on the strip. CHEAP BREAKFAST go to cayote's bar just up the road beer very cheap too and good entertainment. The strip as plenty of resturants and shops and its worth a journey to the old town on the train tho dont recommend it if you have been out the night before can get quite bumpy. Go out of the hotel and turn left there is a shop and cafe bar plus the beach which is lovely. Definatley going back this oct with a few more friends just hope Jose can cope again with us...
money worth spent... Enjoy your holiday xxx"

Couple Holiday in Sunny Albuferia
"Making our holiday destination choice was not an easy one. We looked at many brochures/reviews and in the end chose Albuferia in the Algarve. We booked a weeks stay from the 25th of September at the Santa Eulalia Beach Club Apartments room only basis.
First impressions of the hotel were good. The reception was large and clean. There was a nice bar area and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool area was very nice. The water was a bit cold but as the temperature was around 85 we did not mind. There seemed to be quite a lot of kids running around the pool area even for end of September. The rooms were good with a TV, sofa, comfy bed and a nice shower. The bars/restaurants and beach were both within easy walking distance (10 minutes). We often visited the Martinique bar on route to the town to stop for a 'Boot Beer'. Our beer was served in an amazing boot shaped glass and for only 1 Euro you cant complain!
We went on a few trips. It is better value to book these in the town rather than through your hotel/rep.
-Slide & Splash - The best water park, a very good day for all.
-Jeep Safari - A bit pricier but well worth it for the views and thrill aspect.
-Dolphin Wave Boat Trip - Pricey again but is worth it for seeing the dolphins (not guarenteed). The caves were good but all look the same and the driver did not say a word. Marina was beautiful with multi-coloured buildings.
-Wednesday morning market - Gypsy market was crowded and full of fake goods, if you like that its worth it but if not dont bother. The beach nearby was lovely though so that made up for it.
In the evenings there are so many restaurants to choose from. Generally they are all fairly nice and very reasonalbly priced. We found the best one to be Sunset Strip. However we had our best night out when we went to the Old Town where we found a lovely restaurant called Bravo. This was our best meal and on reflection we wish we had gone for more than just the 1 night.
In conclusion our hotel was great, the weather fantastic, lots of things to do, great for couples or families, very good value and if we were to go again we would choose to stay in the old town overlooking the beach.
Any more questions, feel free to post."

"We were pleasently surprised at how nice the hotel was. Our room was spacious and overlooked the large clean pool.
The staff were always friendly and helpful, including the maids. It would be nice if the bedding and towels were changed more often than once a week, though the maids do clean the apartment 5 days a week and do a good job of it.
There is no oven or microwave which we heard a few couples moan about, but in the hot weather and whilst on holiday do you really want to cook a dinner like you would at home anyway?! There was a 2 ring hob and fridge freezer in the kitchenette which we found to be enough.
The positioning of the hotel was excellent. 5 mins walk to the strip or 5 mins to either beaches. Left out of the hotel will take you to Santa Eulalia beach, and a right turn will take you to Oura Praia beach. This one has lovely little secluded parts along the coastline. Both were clean and you could swim safely at both.(watch for flags though).
We found 'Do Lombo' just round the corner from the hotel to be a lovely restaurant. Maybe a bit pricier than some but you definately get what you pay for. And its traditional portuguese. We got sick and tired of the tourist menus on the strip where everything comes with chips. The restaurants overlooking the beach were lovely too.
The hotel pool was clean as was the surrounding area. There is a nice garden area with sun loungers to the side of the pool. Although it is next to the road, you are screened by hedges and it feels private.
Overall we were very happy with our stay at the Santa Eulalia and would definately return there."

"Just returned back from this accommodation on the 21st of september 2005.
After reading mixed reviews I did not know what to expect.
The apartments are spacious and completely great value for money.
Pool area beauiful and clean. Only problem have to raise early to reserve a sun bed.
Location excellent only 10 mins walk from the famous strip.
1st vist to portugal and I will certainly be going back and yes to the same accommodation.
We have found some lovely resteruants and prices are ok.
I would recommend Albuferia and this accommodation to anyone."

Excellent accomodation at a very reasonable cost!!
"This is a lovely clean aparthotel. We stay here every time we come to Portugal which is every year sometimes twice a year. The staff are lovely and friendly and each time we come there have been improvements. this yearw as no exception. Bedroom was very modern with extra facilities including coffee percolator and hairdryer. Even new beds. Would highly recommend for self catering. Close to beach and near enough to the strip for night entertainment but far enough away so as not to be disturbed by any oise, although we always choose to go to Albuferia old town which is only about 25 minutes walk. There is a local bus service a couple of minutes walk away from the hotel and local supermarket is just around corner. Hotel is well situated for access to all areas.
