"Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the apartments at the end of June for 9 nights, it was the best holiday ive every had i loved it there. The apartments were clean and the kitchen was excellent. I want to say aswell the staff were so firendly and helpful. We were in a ground floor studio apartment and it was perfect for the two of us, the air con was great and came in very useful. Sports bar just near the entrance of the complex was great for watching all the footy and there's a cafe a few doors to the left called baco bar, the food was outstanding the full english was great and very reasonable price. We booked through expedia and cost £280 for 9 nights inc flights such a brill deal, i will be going back again next year!!!!!!"

"I have just returned from a two week stay in these apartments, there were 7 of us in our party, our apartment was on the ground floor and was brilliant, we had french doors opening out onto a little grass area which was perfect for the kids to play on, the kitchen was very big and had a good supply of utensils, we had 2 full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a huge sitting room which also had 2 single beds and 3 couch beds, the apartments were very well cleaned and we had good supply of towels every second day and if we needed extra the cleaner was more than happy to give us them if requested. The pool area was really good, plenty of sunbeds, lovely snack bar and clean toilets. We stayed in Lot 14. The only problem with these apartments is that there should be a 24hr reception, the evening before we left we had no hot water and were unable to contact managment about it. If u are looking for good family apartments then i would recommend staying here."

"I agree with the previous review there are some bad rooms at these apartments. If you like a balcony or a terrace then make sure you request this as most rooms DO NOT come with this. There were 9 people in our group with 5 rooms and not one of us got a decent room, myself and another couple changed rooms part way through the holiday to a balcony apartment as in most rooms all you can do is look out of a little window of your room on the top floor and the bottom floor. If you like a nice bed beware they are uncomfortable with hard pillows and most of the beds are just sofa's, if you are tall chances are your feet will just hang out of the bottom. The rooms did not seem to get cleaned very often and the bathrooms are very small. I did like the pool area as their was always enough sunbeds you did not have to go and put your towels down and also it is very close to everything you need. But if you think you are going to a 4* think again, it was 3* at best. There is also a massive building project going on next to it and in my first room I could here banging and clashing from 7am."

Disappointing - beware!
"Our apartment at Quinta Pedra was shabby and not suitably cleaned on arrival. With three children, it was important to us to have excellent hygienic conditions. The bathroom appeared to have been flooded previously and the toilet seat was in a terrible condition.
Our mattresses felt damp, so we took off the protective cover which had a rubber backing which helped, but the mattresses were soiled - one with blood! That said, I think that apartment conditions will depend on what "Lote" you are assigned. We stayed in Lote 12,
E. Ours looked out over the street, but some have pool views or sea views. The reception staff were most unhelpful. We required a change of towels after the second day, but were flatly refused. The Manager explained that towel changes only occur after three days - it took some persuasion to secure fresh towels for our party of 5. The door handle to our kitchen was broken and we got locked in one day. We were able to leave the apartment by means of the patio but needed a new key to gain access again, since the original key was inserted into the wall in the hall for switching on the electricity. Again, the reception staff were unhelpful and were reluctant to let us have a spare set of keys.
If you have a young family - dont go here! I cant be be more blunt! The steps to the beach are difficult with very young children. The pool area is quiet (sometimes) but because its small, can become packed and noisy very easily. Our impression of reception staff was very negative. Their hospitality was non-existent. Reception area is about size of a sitting room and they don't appear to like their jobs. There's one young trainee guy and he was the only one who smiled during our visit. We actually felt intimidated asking for anything and resorted to seeking information and taxis, etc from the Oura Praia Hotel across the road. This might seem strange, but frequently reception was closed - during the afternoon and after 9.00pm. The strip is 10 min walk away - but is usual array of tacky shops - plus pubs/restaurants. The CPO complex next door has fabolous amenities - you kind of feel like the poor neighbour! Take a right as you exit Quinta Pedra and walk up the street past the Marachino Supermarket - on r.h.s. you will find the American Diner (wonderful food, lovely staff, great service and atmosphere). Villamoura is worth a trip for the views and great shopping and delicious food. Overall, we wont be going back to Praia Da Oura and would strongly advise anyone not to use Quinta Pedra Dos Bicos - unless you wish to risk staying in unclean apartments with most unfriendly reception staff. We lodged an official complaint with our Tour Operator before departing. Beware! Choose an alternative."

"This complex of apartments are ideally positioned for everyone.Just 5 minute walk from The Strip with all its bars and restaurents, the beach is only about another 5 minutes walk down some steps in the opposite way. ( The beach bar at the bottom is excellent- try the prawns ' unbelievable').
The area around the apartments is very quiet. Apartments themselves very roomy and comfortable, the pool area is excellent if you've got young children there are two separate areas for them and an area with slide, swing etc.
The only downside was that the reception is hard to find, if you're looking for it, it's on the main road. But receptionist is A1."

Excellent - well worth a stay
"We stayed at the Quinta Pedra dos Bicos apartments on the 27th of May for 5 nights and we were very impressed with the complex.
We arrived at around 10.30am and our room was still waiting to be cleaned (check in is at 15.00hrs). The staff at the reception spoke excellent English and gave us somewhere to store our luggage as well as a free drink voucher for the bar.
The accomodation was great, we booked a one bedroomed apartment but when we got there we found it was a two bedroomed apartment which would have slept 6..!
The apartment had air conditioning in the two bedrooms, had an excellent kitchen with, cooker, hob, microwave, large fridge, freezer, coffee machine and all cooking utensils, as well as a bath and shower.
We stayed in Lotte 12, room H and although we did not have a balcony, we had french doors leading off the living room onto the pool area.
The complex is very quiet with no noise at all at night and is very peaceful throughout the day, plenty of free sun loungers around the pool area.
The beach is about five minutes walk and the strip is about ten minutes walk and caters for all tastes, Mexican, Italian, English, Local, Chinese, etc.....
I would reccomend the Quinta Pedra dos Bicos apartments to anyone, couples and families alike.
Will be returning next year without doubt..!"

Great service, great room and great place to stay
"Just got home from a short week at Quinta Pedra dos Bicos. We arrived at 11.30 and as was very signed, the checkin hour is at 15.00, but the friendly staff behind the counter gave us a free welcome drink to the pool bar, and in 1 hour he went to the pool bar tell us that the room was ready. Arriving at our apartment we found it extremely spacious and very cleaned, the kitchen has everything we need to cook, a microwave and even an hairdryer in the bathroom. Everyday the cleaning ladies came to our apartment to clean it up (wich are very friendly as well). The resort is very near the STIP, a street with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. So if you plan to go to Quinta Pedra dos Bicos, i recomend it to all the people."

"I have just got back from a 5 day girly holiday - we stayed at these apartments and I would highly recommend them!
We arrived at midnight and although reception wasn't open, there was a mobile number to call and the manager, Ricardo, arrived within minutes to check us in. We had asked expedia (who we had booked the hol through) to fax ahead and let them know which they had done.
The apartment was nicely decorated and although it was simple, it had everything you could need. I reckon it may have been quieter than usual given that it was the beginning of the season but we had our music on every night and had no probs,
The beach, the strip and all other eating places are walking distance. I would highly recommend the 'Costa Rica' which is on the corner half way up the strip - food was fantastic!
Apart from one moody receptionist, everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Go and stay there!"

Great place to relax
"Just got back from a 3 day stay, we arrived at 1030 check in time was 3.00 but our room was ready and we moved straight in to our studio. Nice little room but the layout wasted a lot of space.
Great little balcony with a view of the beautiful pool area. Everything was kept clean all the time and the service at the snack bar was excellent. It's in a great location and I would recommend the beach cafe at the bottom of the hill for dinner.
All in all it was a good place to stay in a relaxing environemnt although not sure what it wouls be like peak season."

Nightmare ! Thanks to Owner of Apt 105
"Just returned from these privately owned apartments. I booked through holidaylets no. PA9028
The owner demands a £250 deposit 8 weeks prior to your booking and this is cashed immediately, very unusal in my past experience with private bookings. It means your £250 is in their bank account for approx 3 months.....or longer as it turns out !
The complex itself is lovely along with the hotel on the same site, however I cannot recommend apartment 105. It's advertised for 6 people, 1 twin bedroom, 1 room with bunk beds and a bed settee. The bunk beds are wholly unsuitable for children as they're situated not in a bedroom but a cupboard ! They're almost touching the ceiling they're so high and there is NO guard rail, therefore a potential 8ft drop to the tiled floor.
The soft furnishings have all seen better days and are very dirty, along with the entire apartment really. We made a list of 16 faulty items, these included a very unsafe handrail at the top of the stairs which is hanging off the wall. Main socket in kitchen hanging out of the wall with bare live wires. And there were 9 bulbs missing throughout the apartment, despite advising the owner as soon as we arrived they did nothing so we had to buy 6 packs to replace them all just to be able to see at night !
Despite the ad stating a cleaner would visit 2 or 3 times a week to clean and change towels & bedding this never happened once during our stay and we washed & cleaned the apartment & everything ourselves mid week.
I informed the owner of all the faults during and after our stay by way of an email and texts and advised him in good faith that we didn't think he was getting the service he paid for from his cleaners or maintenance company, as a favour to him and his wife. I then find myself £250 out of pocket as the owner has witheld our deposit to carry out the reported repairs !!!!!! And we find ourselves going to the small claims court to have our money returned.....a very sad and poor end to what was a fabulous holiday.
Can't recommend the complex enough but give apartment 105 block 16 a very wide berth. There are far, far nicer apartments to rent on the complex via the internet and far more honest owners I'm sure.

"Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 10 days the apartment was really roomy cleaned everyday. The only thing let it down was that the sheets were not changed the whole time even with leaving the 'please make up room' sign on the door.
The area was ideal nice and quiet but close enough to all the bars an places to eat! Try Lara's Place for fish and chips!
If you are thinking of booking these apartments just do it should the right deal come up we are heading back at the end of the summer!!"
