Pretty family resort
"Stayed at Clube Albufeira in September and loved it. We rented an apartment from one of the owners rather that rent direct from the resort and it was like a home from home. The apartment was spotlessly clean and in a great location close to the pools. Walking distance from Albufeira but far enough away not to be bothered by noise and crowds. The on site restaurants are all really good, especially the O'Pavillion with their steak on the stone! The resort is quite hilly so probably not suitable for people with mobility problems. Some of the apartments are near to the main road so try and get one that's further up the hill where you can't hear the road at all. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely go back. I have read some reviews that weren't very good, well I don't know where these people stayed but it wasn't where we were. Looking forward to going there again soon :)"

Disappointing, tired and came with hard sell to buy
"Very tired property - poor 2 star posing as a 4 star. Completely misrepresented by Vacations Bonanza. Onsite restaurant very good and the kids loved the two pools. Quite a few electrical items not working. Perhaps the 'new' side apartments were better??"

Excellent place to holiday !!!
"We have just returned from a weeks stay at Clube Albufeira Resort. Our apartment was excellent it had everything one would require. The resort itself was great, the children loved the swimming pools and the restaurant on site O Pavillions was excellent, top class food and service, in fact we ate there every night. Their steak is fab but they have the nicest Lasagne I have ever tasted. Our children loeved their Spagetti Bolognes. The BBQ on a Wednesday was great too. Taxi service was very poor we thought, especially at evening times between 7pm and 9pm, but during the day they have a courtesy bus 2/4 times a day... We booked our airport pickup with FlightLink, they were excellent. A wonderful holiday had by all and yes we will be returning in the near future. Rgds Deirdre,Chris and Family Ireland"

A great family complex 1 mile out of the old town
"We are just back from a two week holiday and had a great experience at Club Albufeira. The club is a collection of time-share apartments and privately owned properties within a complex about 1 mile from the old town Albufeiara and 2 miles from "The Strip". A courtesy bus takes you into town 4 times daily. The standard of the apartment will vary dramatically depending on how the owner has looked after it. There are up to date two beds or villas with all the mod-cons and air-con, and there are older apartments in need of an up-grade so you must get full information on what you are booking. Also, this is a big complex with three pools. You could be situated right beside a pool or may be a good walk from one so you need to check. My favourate restaurant on site was Oh Pavillio which serves the best steak I have tasted served on a sizzling stone. In summer it also has an "all you can eat" barbecue on Wednesdays. Great value for meat lovers. Some days there is Aqua Aerobics and at one pool there are some kids activities. There is a camp site accross the road that apparently you can visit and there is also a small shop on site selling fresh bread and essentails. There is also a large modern shopping complex within a few miles at Ghia. We found there were many families with children and the nationalities there were mixed. We saw many Portuguese, German and British. The reception is 24 hour, efficient and helps offer excursions. We had a great time there."

"We got a bonus week through RCI and stayed the last week of May. Very dated apartments. No microwave or washing machine, a very old portable TV and that was it for entertainment. My husband and I were disappointed with the twin beds! No double bed. Old bath and shower, very old tiles in bathroom. Wardrobe doors that locks that were broken. Put a deposit of 75 euros for the remote control to the air con and tv. Parking not good where we stayed. No drying place on the balcony for any hand washing that you need drying. Very dirty out side table and plastic chairs. The high light of our trip had to be the cross country quad bike ride! we had a great time, 4 hours of fun. Look out for the leaflets at the resort advertising the 2 hr or 4 hr trips. [--] If you have a tomtom sat nav down load the Portugal map. It was brilliant. We drove all around Portugal using the tomtom and it didn't let us down once. Made the most of our week and we may go back one day. If you are a none smoker like us beware that smokers light up everywhere and it can be horrible when you are eating out and the people next to you just light up with no consideration for none smokers,"

"Arrived at 9.30 am on Sunday 22 April 2007 and welcomed by a friendly, helpful receptionist having been picked up at the airport by equally friendly driver from the resort, having previously emailed to request same. Stayed in 2-bed villa with everything one could wish for (except a toaster!!) We had change of towels and bedding twice during our week's stay. The maid who came in to clean was pleasant and friendly. The people who served in the little shop were very accommodating and seemed to provide anything you needed, including daily newspapers, fresh bread. The restaurant was superb - in fact, so good we didn't eat anywhere else (very naughty!!) and the owners and their helpers couldn't have been nicer. There was a courtesy bus to the old town four times during the day, but it is possible to walk if you don't mind the traffic. Not ideal if you have small children. The taxi is less than 4 euros however. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our week, even the weather was kind to us. We would definitely return and in fact, our daughter has since booked to go in 8 weeks time! I am really jealous!!!"

"I have just returned from a weeks stay at Clube Albufeira. The apartment was lovely and the complex was excellent for the whole family. There was a courtesy bus to the town running 4 times a day so beach access was no problem. With a heated pool on site we were very well catered for. Highly recommended."

"After reading just 2 reviews, i was a bit unsure about staying here. We got a really good deal with my Dads time share and booked a 1 & 2 bedroom apartment between 6 of us couples, late twenties. When we arrived at reception, we were dealt with quickly, very organised english speaking staff . We were given a map of the resort and our apartments were a 10min walk from reception up hill. The apartments were brand new so spacious with a jacuzzi bath and a large patio with sun loungers and garden table. There were 3 swimming pools 1 for each part of the resort which were very nice with a snack bar and restaurant. I can't fault the resort , only that we did have to get taxi's to the old town but they were so cheap and the apartments also laid on a mini bus which did trips to the town through out the day. The restaurant at the main pool was great. O'Pavillion the Chef was great, english couple been there 20 years, we had amazing dinners steak cooked on a stone plate, rack of lamb, steak pie all with great potatoes and veg, not cheap, 15-17 Euros a main but well worth it. Overall i would reccomend this place it was great especially if you like self catering and don't mind the quieter resorts. [--]"

"We have recently returned from our first holiday in Portugal staying at Club Albufeira. The appartment was of an excellent standard with maid service every day. Our appartment overlooked the the pool which was spotlessat all times, and with a very good standard of lifeguarding throughout the day. Food in the Bar Cafe was very good and exceptional value for money. Weather was fantastic! We liked every aspect of our stay at Club Albufeira and we intend to return in Oct for one week and 2 weeks during Xmas. I was very surprised to learn that this site has only a 2 key rating, it should be more."
