Clean and spacious appartments
"We stayed at the end of Sept 2006 and had temperatures in the upper 20 degree C most days. It was our first trip aboard with a young baby and worked well. The Concordia taxi service had child seats in the mini buses and the hotel staff had a room cleaned for us on arrival, even though this was several hours before check in time. The cleaning was without fault.
At this time of year there was no problem with noise, but if this would worry you the upper floors were quieter, as were the ones at the ends of the corridors.
The pool was still cold this late in the season, but there was a selection of water toys that primary school aged children seemed to be enjoying. I would echo the earlier report about buggies and the beach, as it was difficult to carry a buggy down the steps so I would consider taking a sling. The pavements were also very uneven and our child was not happy in the buggy, I could appreciate that it muct have felt like being pushed over cobbles in an old fashioned roller scate. A jogger style push chair would have worked better.
We used my in laws timeshare week and expected to get hassled, but can't say that we ever felt pressured. It may have been fairly obvious that a couple with a young baby would have other pressures on their money."

"We have just come back from the Algarve, we stayed in the Hotel Apartmento Alpinus, which we booked three weeks in advance on line with "Somewhere2Stay" .
We had a really lovely holiday. We had a third floor one bedroom apartment overlooking the golf course. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and air conditioned.
The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the beach but a bus runs almost every hour throughout the day from the hotel lobby. The hotel grounds are well kept and the pool is plenty big enough - bit cold to start but we soon got used to it. This is a beautiful area and the beach is well worth a visit.
There are a few restaurants locally and all are well above average (I'd recommend Pateo Do Golfe and Antonios - both have wonderful food and excellent service) The local sea food is to die for - and so cheap!!
There is a botique just round the corner from the hotel which has some really nice clothes and gift ideas - and all are reasonably priced.
If you have children or love wildlife pay a visit to Zoomarine. It cost us around 30 Euro return by taxi and about 60 Euro (family of 4) to get in. The Dolphin Show was an unexpectedly moving experience for the children and me!! If you want to swim with the dolphins best to book in advance - costs 135 Euros and you have to pay extra for photos - so take a camera.
This is our first visit to the Algarve and we are definitely planning to go back."

Amazing accomodatoin & wonderful staff
"Just back from a weeks stay at the Alpinus with my husband & 2 young children and we all had a wonderful time. The apartment was spacious and beautifully decorated, it was spotlessly clean and there was a daily maid service. We had a 3rd floor apartment overlooking the pool which was lovely, if you have young children like ourselves i would advise to ask for a room on the third to fifth foor if you want a room with pool view, this is because of the nightly entertainment at pool bar can be quite loud, although it was always over by midnight.
The staff in hotel were more than friendly and helpful. Most nights there was entertainment in restaraunt or pool bar, there was a lso a very good kids club. Satellite tv channels included ITV & BBC3, the main living area and bedroom had airconditioning which is most definitely needed, a safe in room is also available at a small charge. A courtesy bus went to Falesia beach several times a day (its about a 15minute walk) , the beach is lovely but I would not advise it for people with buggies as the steps down are very steep and the only choice was to leave buggy up top of steps - not ideal. There were several nice restaraunts nearby to the hotel and Albufeirra town centre was about 3.5 miles away, there was a bus stop outside hotel but a taxi into centre was normally between â¬6 or â¬7. The Alpinus hotel is aimed towards families young and old and I would would definitely recommend staying there"

"Seven members of my family stayed here June 23 2006. All I can say is the staff super, accommodation brilliant, enjoyed that much I stayed for extra 2 nights to watch England v Portugal although we lost it was a good atmosphere especially when you are getting free drinks off the staff. Highly recommended but a car is needed due to location this is not a problem as there is public transport nearby or a mini bus ride to albuferia or villa moura for four people 5 euros each return book able through hotel. I am going back in sept 06 and april 07 room 501 is top floor 2 bed roomed or room 511 is top floor 1 bed roomed both facing pool . Happy holidays"

Nice apartment bad location (August 2005)
"Apartment was very
nice, pity you could not move it elsewhere. We were on the first floor facing the main beach road. The road was very noisey day and evening. At night the music / entertainment from two pubs 100yds away went on until 2 am every day except Saturday!
The rooms were "cleaned" every day but after the floors were cleaned I wiped them with floor wipes and they went brown each time.
They could not manage to get the number of bath towels right even though there was only two of us. The pool is far too small for the size of the hotel.
Would not stay again."

"Just returned from an 11 night stay at this hotel. Accommodation was excellent, had a 2 bedroom apartment which had 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 balconies, satelite TV, etc..
The rooms were cleaned daily and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Good pool, bar, nightly entertainment, kids club, free bus to the beach - which was within walking distace.
Good location, about a 10 minute taxi ride from Albufeira - taxi for 4 people was the same as the bus - between 7 & 9 euros. Good restaurants and bars nearby.
Hotel is mainly used by the timeshare company Seasons - see their website for an excellent overview of the hotel."

"We stayed at the Alpinus apartments in October for 10 days through Seasons Holidays and found it clean, well maintained with superb helpful staff and worthy of its 4 star rating. The restaurant, bar and pool were all smart and child friendly. Our 2 bed sleep 6 was extremely spacious with everything you could ask for including the daily maid service. We would certainly stay again and would recommend it to anyone."

"Have spent 2 lovely holidays at Alpinus, last year and this, through Seasons timeshare company. Cannot fault the place at all. Wonderful apartments, with great views. Not far to the beach and there is a courtesy bus which runs you there and back if you want it. Entertainment most nights, with good acts. Excellent cafe and restaurant. Just a few minutes away from other restaurants and cafes. The staff are extremely helpful, both the Portuguese and the English."
