"We have just returned from 11 days in Villa Xemxija. The villa is magnificent and we have never experienced such good service before. Everything was arranged by the friendly and accurate owner, from picking us up from the airport to bringing us back. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We felt very welcome. Gozo is an island where you have the feeling that you can leave the key in the door; it feels save there. The population is very friendly and helpfull. We will sure come back. Our eldest son went to this island for his honeymoon and so will our dauhgter (in september). We think it's the most wonderfull place to do a trip like this, even when you are married for 25 years (as we are), Jan Hindrik & Bonny Loonstra, Groningen, The Netherlands"

Fabulous apartment in excellent location on Gozo

"These apartments are truly a gem. We stayed in a 2 br apt with a large terrace that overlooked the pool. The apartment was furnished simply and very clean. Kitchen small but functional - and who would want to do any cooking with the fine selection of restaurants that abound in Xlendi? Manoel and Pauline very helpful and arranged our transport as well as car rental. Car delivered right to the apartment. They were also kind enough to do a food shop for us before our arrival so all we had to do was unpack and relax. Important to note that there are no food stores in Xlendi. The sea front is a only a short walk down a steep street so probably not suitable for people with mobility issues. The views on the way to the sea front are stunning. Xlendi appears to be Gozo's main area for dive shops and provides opportunity for various activities such as boat trips, boat rental, jeep safaris, etc. which can all be organised right in the town. Agree with all the other reviews and would highly recommend."

Really pleasant stay

"Really nice property. We stayed in the two bedroom penthouse apartment which has plenty of outdoor space, though it's a shame it doesn't overlook the pool. The pool is a nice size and was a lovely quiet area. It is only a short walk to the main area of the village. As we arrived late on a Saturday night, the owner offered to get in some groceries for us, which was a tremendous help as the shops are all closed on a Sunday and its necessary to go to Valetta to find a supermarket. Would definately stay here again. Perfect for a week's break."

Superb Villa Xemxija

"We stayed at the Villa Xemxija for 5 days in June 2008 after staying in Malta for 5 days and loved every moment!! Manoel, as stated is very helpful but not "in your face", you know he is there if you have any queries. We stayed in the one bed roomed ground floor apt overlooking the lovely pool (see attached pics). The apt was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with satellite TV (some English), air-con (pay for use) but very cheap, Manoel left the balance from the previous occupants without charge. Xlendi itself is a lovely place and we agree with previous reviews that it is the best resort to stay in Gozo. We had a car and drove round most of the island but Xlendi is the best resort we saw. Lovely restaurants not rowdy at all, only draw-back was no supermarket but three ATM machines for cash and two pay phones which was good. We would recommend the Village Inn for good quality very cheap food; it was 10 Euros 50 cents for a three course set-menu deal with lots to choose from. Also, there is a take-away / sit down kebab house which was excellent for snacks during the day (lovely chicken kebab skewers)! Overall, a great "chill-out" place and would recommend for couples of all ages, Gozo itself is so beautiful and we will return some time in the future."

Enjoyable stay at Villa Xemxija

"We recently enjoyed 9 nights in these apartments, in early June. This was probably one of the best times to visit as the temperatures were very pleasant, and the area was peaceful before the beginning of the full summer season. This was exactly what we were after, and that was complimented by the nice accomodation that Manoel & Pauline provide. Our apt. was larger than we'd expected which was a pleasant surprise. The apt. was simply decorated, clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, and shower had good pressure. The kitchen was small, but had everything you could possibly need tucked away in case you wanted to self-cater. We like to have breakfast & snacks in our apt., and dinner out, but there was certainly sufficient equipment to fully cater, if required. That said, there is no shop in the town, and although we did not have a car, the (very cheap!) local bus is simple to take into town for a large selection of goods. Equally, nothing is very far away in Gozo and we walked into Victoria (the main town) twice. In Xlendi itself the restaurants are plentiful. and the local wine is very good. Manoel and Pauline are always around to offer assistance and advice, but also totally respect people's privacy; so a good balance is struck. For us, one of the biggest bonuses with this accomodation was that there was no distinct 'start' day of the week; and no requirement to stay a prescribed number of days. (EG: units of 7, beginning on a Saturday...) We were therefore able to put together the exact package which met our needs. Finally, having looked around the island (walking/buses) I was happy that I had chosen the best town to stay in! I would happily recommend this accommodation and location to others."

"We spent one week at this place and can recommend it very much. Very friendly owner couple, only positive impressions! Clean, comfortable and nicely furnished accomodation with a fine swimming pool. If you do not have a car it is not so easy to buy food as Xlendi itself has no foodstore, only a mobile bakery service and a mobile vegetables and fruit sales car which you have to catch at the right time! Anyway, Villa Xemxija is a good choice."

Comfortable apartments in Xlendi

"We spent a week staying in the penthouse apartment. It was great being in a small block as you couldn't hear any noise from nearby apartments. The apartment had two bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs, plus a kitchen/living room upstairs and a huge terrace area with views down to the sea. It was comfortable, reasonably priced and we had a very pleasant stay there. We were impressed with the standard of the accomodation - it was bright and clean and looked newly decorated. The bathroom has a pressurised shower. The Villa is on the outskirts of Xlendi, on the backroad out to Munxar, so is in quite a quiet location. You look down onto the rest of Xlendi, getting great views of the bay and valley. The apartment is probably not suitable for families with toddlers or people with mobility problems, as there is a steep, spiral staircase. It's about 10 minutes walk from Xlendi centre with a steep uphill bit at the end. The owner is very helpful. He was able to advise us about when to visit the main attractions to avoid the crowds. He can also arrange transfers from the airport. We arrived at night so it was great to have someone meet us at the airport and take us to the Gozo ferry then the accommodation."

"Manoel the owner of the villa provided excellent service for the entirity of our stay. Our transfers were arranged for us and ran so smoothly we felt in safe hands. The apartment was friendly and comfortable with a lovely roof terrace and excellent views. It was a superb place to stay to relax and enjoy Xlendi and surrounding areas. We didnt hire a car but found it very easy to get around, the buses are very cheap. I can recommend a trip into Victoria to see the Citadella and the boat trips around the island are excellent. There are many lovely restaurants around the harbour and just up the hill from Xlendi a lovely chinese called Pings Dining. Lovely views whilst eating. The weather in may was perfect, about 25 degrees with a lovely breeze so it was not too hot. Although evenings can get a little chilly. We had an excellent stay totally relaxing, if you want to go somewhere where the people are so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. Gozo is the perfect place to go. Thankyou Manoel for a lovely stay, i will definitely be visiting again and will not hesitate to recommend your apartment to friends."
