"We stayed in the studio apartment in Villa Bronja for a week at the end of June 2010 and had a fantastic time.
We chose the studio out of the different apartment options, and we were pleasantly suprised at its size, being more than big enough for two people. It has got a well-equiped kitchen area separate to the large bedroom and a very spacious bathroom (pictures to come), with plenty of storage space too. The apartment was very clean and had everything you could need, including a very effective ceiling fan. The TV was in German but a DVD player can be hired the very reasonable rate of EUR1 a night. There is no radio/stereo so if you did want to bring music it would be advisable to bring something with you!
The owners, Manoel and Pauline couldn't have been more friendlier and relaxed, they live in the villa and so can be contacted if there are any problems.
Upstairs on the roof is a pool area with sunloungers, the pool is more of a place to cool off rather than go swimming but we found it very relaxing and ideal if you want a change of scenary from the beach.
Xlendi itself is lovely, the apartment is a five minute walk away from the sea (downhill to get there, uphill to get back) where there are many sea-front restaurants. There is also a small area of sand which we never found particularly crowded. There are also many areas for people to sunbathe around the rocky outcrops that surround the bay. Xlendi does seem like it has become a bit developed for tourists but it has retained its charms and hasn't been given over to rowdy bars and clubs.
The only negative about Xlendi is that it doesn't have a shop. However, there is a grocery van and the main supermarkets in Rabat are only a 10 minute or so bus ride away.
It is also very easy to explore other parts of Gozo via bus which we found to be very cheap and accessible, and with easy to use timetables to get around. A car would make life easier if you had children for example, but getting the bus suited the relaxing holiday we wanted.
Going to Gozo would be perfect for any couple looking for a relaxed holiday, or any family looking for a good mix of relaxation and things to do (scuba diving, quad bikes etc)!"

Perfectly peaceful space to get away
"Had a wonderful few days in Gozo at Villa Bronja. Our host Manuel was very helpful in arranging taxi transfers from the the airport late at night and reasonably priced car hire so the car was waiting for us to get up and out as soon as we were ready. All correspondence in advance of the trip was very clear and detailed and our stay was without hassle. A simple and clean studio, very near to the bay in Xlendi where you can go and swim and eat lovely dinners, but also only a fifteen minute drive to the island's sandy beaches for a change of scenery. Great value and perfect for what we were looking for from a simple, slow beach holiday."

"We LOVED our stay at Villa Bronja! We stayed in the studio apartment: very clean, with a spacious and brigh room, separate kitchennette and a lovely little terrace. We also enjoyed the quiet and sunny roof terrace (it is actually bigger than it looks in the pictures). The location is great, in a peaceful street, but just 5 mins walk from lovely Xlendi bay, for swimming, snorkelling, seafront restaurants, bars and diving centres. Last but nor least: hosts Manoel and Pauline are super nice! Thanks for a lovely stay, we would definitely stay at Villa Bronja again!"

Visit Villa Bronja
"Just wanted to say that Villa Bronja in Xlendi is a very pleasant place to stay whilst visiting Malta. The fishing village is absolutely lovely and the accommodation is very close to bars and restaurants and surrounded by pleasant walking tracks with stunning views. Pauline and Manoel were very gracious hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. I would recommend it highly.

"Good value, clean and a nice balcony. We had a little seaview, to bad with the high house in front. So I will recommend the upper apartments. A suggestion: Better guiding to the footpaths. We recommend the book "Walking in Malta". We would like to come back in spring another year.

Excellent location for spectacular hiking
"Gozo is a wonderful island for hiking with some of the most dramatic sea cliffs right at Xlendi. So staying at Villa Bronja means you can start your hike almost across the street. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed having WiFi in the unit.
We hiked almost all the coastline during our stay and found that access by bus was fine; one just has to pay attention to the schedules.
The lack of a food store in Xlendi is a nuisance, especially if you do not have a car, but there are good ones in Victoria. There are lots of restaurants a short walk away."

Cheerful, helpful service
"I had a really nice time at this reasonably priced, self-catering apartment. The owners were very charming and helpful with any questions or requests I had. There was also a partial view of the sea from the balcony."

What a great place to relax, no fuss, no stress, very friendly people!
"After staying in the Bugibba area (Malta) the week before, Gozo was wonderful! First time for us, I'm so glad I decided to tack 4 days in Xlendi onto our holiday. The 2-bdr flat in the Villa Bronja was close to the harbour, and was clean and homey, just right for a family with teenagers. The roof-top pool was small, elegant and very clean. The water was rather cold. However, the sea was warm enough for swimming and snorkling. The people were very friendly and helpful. Many people actually had time for a chat, and where does that happen these days? Just be aware that there's no store in the village. Thank you, Manoel, for helping get groceries, and all other needs. I will be back, when I can!
Next time, I will certainly go diving here. (I took my kids for an introductory dive with the people from 'Buddy Divers' in Bugibba. Good service, the guys showed us so much; I can highly recommend them.)"

Lovely place to stay at!
"This is a great budget accomodation. Xlendi is by far the most pictoresque village in Gozo, and staying there was -in my opinion- a great choice. Villa Bronja is located in a very quiet and silent road (parking always available), and we could easily reach the harbour, its restaurants and facilities with a pleasant five minutes stroll by the sea. Our apartment did include a very large bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. The king-size bed was absolutely comfortable. Satellite television is provided. On the rooftop there's a small swimming pool with a sea view. At our arrival, everything was spotless clean. Manoel, the owner, was so nice and helpful to us, we really felt like home.
We definitely hope to come back soon, for the time being we can't help but suggest this lovely place to everybody looking for a cozy, quiet, clean and comfortable budget accomodation."

Relaxing, Reviving, Great People and Time Stands still thats what you get at Gozo
"Gozo is a place to go to recharge your batteries. The people are great, the food is great, the scenery is beautiful especially Xlendi as it is by far the most gorgeous bay on the island.
Villa Bronja, is basic but clean and having a balcony is great to relax and has everythign you need.
There are buildings being erected opposite but the builders are not there all day and the bedrooms are at the back so dosen't keep you awake.
Manoel and Pauline are really helpful, transfers are great
It would be nice to have more than just German channels on the TV/Radio not that I mind German but most people speak english
Xlendi has everything except a convenience store but a 10 minute bus ride to Victoria and there is 3 choices of supermarket although try and avoid Arcadia as it is really expensive.
If you are looking for somewhere where the days last forever the weather is great and the people loverly to this is the place just don't expect anything to happen quickly.
There was an awesome storm during our stay but it was great to watch and everyone just mucked in.
Thank you Gozo I am revived enough to face the rest of the year now"

Villa Bronja is like home away from home. Excellent host, excellent value, excellent location.
"Villa Bronja is a someplace you go when you want to get away from it all. Coming with my parents, one of whom had suffered a recent accident, I was worried that everything would be well arranged and that they would have a relaxing time.
I can tell you that I was very relieved to have such accommodating hosts as Manoel and Pauline. Everything that could be done to make our stay comfortable was done with a smile and I genuinely feel that our hosts actually wanted to help us to relax. Manoel and Pauline were also extremely knowledgeable about the local surroundings.
I suppose I would say that, if you are looking for a place to stay while in Gozo on holiday, I would highly recommend Villa Bronja to you. This is a place to relax, and while there are several good, reasonably-priced restaurants and pubs within a 10 minute walk, you can come back to the Villa and expect to get a good night's sleep. If tranquility and friendly service is something you prize, stay with Manoel and Pauline at Villa Bronja.
Thanks for everything!"
