Three Star Hotel or Youth Hostel
"Nice hotel, good food. But would you expect there a group of about 40 children aged 10+? Of course they make noise - but should they not rather stay in a youth hostel? Even in the low low season other guests need their sleep. Still this is quite a good hotel, where you can mix with the locals."

Nice place, nice people
"We stayed at Downtown for three nights on B & B basis and really enjoyed ourselves. The location is ideal for exploring Gozo if you do not have use of a car as all buses go from Victoria terminus (less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel). The receptionist was very helpful, providing bus timetables for us. The room we stayed in was spacious and airy with a balcony. The bathroom was very big...could almost fit two baths in there! There was almost everything you could expect from hotel room, air conditioning, hairdryer, mini bar etc. the one thing that I would have liked was a safe deposit box. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. The breakfast is served in the restaurant until 9.30am and consisted of cold meats, cheese, fruit, yoghurt as well as hot food like bacon, sausages, it was very tasty. The restaurant also provided buffet dinners. There is also a cafe in the hotel which has good selection of pizzas, snacks and drinks, served all day and stays open quite late. The service in the cafe was excellent. There is a rooftop pool but it is quite small, there is a jacuzzi in it and a shallow part for children. The view from the rooftop terrace is very good, particularly in the evening when the Citadel was lit up. We really enjoyed our stay here, the service was great, and everyone was very friendly. Would recommend it to anyone."

no better place to stay
"The Downtown Hotel was so much more than we could have asked for for $50.00 a night. The room we stayed in for 4 nights was extrememly clean, with air conditioning, and very nice airy cielings. Breakfast was included in the price and the breakfast was very nice, with cereal and the choice of a full english breakfast. The staff was very kind and helpful, our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels given. The location is nice and quiet and the center of victoria is a 10 minute walk away. We stayed in hotels at twice the price as this one and got less than a fraction of the service. You will not be let down if you stay here."
