Perfect in every way
"My boyfriend and I stayed at the Aqua Palace Hotel for 4 nights in June and we were simply blown away by the hotel. When we booked the room, there were no reviews (as the hotel was brand new) and decided to take a gamble on it. The gamble certainly paid off! I don't think we could fault the hotel one bit, the room looked exactly like the pictures on the website and was so clean. The mini bar in the room was actually cheaper than drinking out at a restaurant! The hotel was extremely peaceful and the only noise we had a night was the musicians at the small restaurant opposite, which was very pleasant, and even this was finished by about 10. The service was fantastic, the hotel offered lots of sightseeing trips and advice on good places to eat. The buffet style breakfast was very varied and the staff all spoke excellent english. The location was just tucked away from the crowds and was extremely quiet at night time. To sum it up, the hotel was faultless and we both would highly recommend staying at the Aqua Palace Hotel."

DECENT HOTEL, GREAT LOCATION
"Stayed @ Aqua Palace on July 6th-10th. This was our 4th hotel on our trip that included Rome, Positano, Ischia and now Venice. Had room 106. Out of all the hotels, this was by far the worst room. Maybe I shouldn't be comparing, as this hotel was less $$$ than the others but a few things were very bothersome. Our room had NO view. Basically looking @ another building. I emailed them before stating this trip was for our 10th anniversary and it didn't seem to mean anything to them. The first day we were there, our toilet kept clogging. They were very good about sending someone up to fix, but really, twice......... The rooms are basic, small, very clean. Bathroom (very nice) seems to be as big as the bed area. Our hotel was right net to the elevator shaft, and were able to hear it every-time the elevator was in use. Our first night we got in late and they gave us a food recommendation. Cannot think of the name but not one of our better meals. So, after that, decided to use trip advisor for food places (A Beccafico -fantastic!!!). The hotel has free wi fi access anywhere in the hotel which was nice. Location of hotel is terrific. About 5/10 min walk to Rialto, about 5/10 min walk to San Marco square. The location of the hotel could not be better. Also has an entrance for water taxi so you do not have to log luggage around. The biggest complaint about hotel was we had a wake up call for 8:15 since we scheduled a water taxi for 9:30 pick up back to airport. They NEVER called. Pretty much impossible to miss a wake up call when phone is right next to bed and you are not sleeping very well with the elevator shaft being active for breakfast crowd. No apology, no 'maybe we need to check it out.' Nothing. Thankfully, we had woken up ourselves and even though not fully ready, was able to get ready quick. But with that, we had to miss breakfast. Overall, location of hotel great. But, based on our issues with hotel, would definitely look elsewhere to stay."

Perfect blend of old style luxury and modern comforts
"Extremely comfortable and in within a short walk from Piazza San Marco. Don't expect many expensive pieces of antique furniture, but all fabrics and soft furnishings appear to be of the highest quality. The overall look of a modern take on old italian style is great. The service is excellent e.g. porter to the room, employees speak several languages and are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast included and is also very good. My only caution would be that we took the motor boat/ taxi trip to the fine restaurant they suggested- the restaurant was fantastic but the boat was not worth the expensive fee, I'd have preferred to spend the money on a gondala trip- much quieter and more interesting views."

beautiful room with views of the canal
"The Aqua Palace Hotel was an oasis in the middle of Venice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged a private water taxi to take us to Murano for a tour of a glass factory (no charge). They also arranged a private walking tour through Venice that took us off the main streets and our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. It was expensive but a good tour. The room was lovely, with views of the canal and we watched the gondolas and daily life on the canals. The room and the bathroom was of exceptionally high quality and it felt like the bedding was linen. One criticism was that the room was a little warm for sleeping, even though the air conditioner in the room was at it's lowest temperature, 19 degrees. The hotel was a bit tricky to find, make sure you have the specific directions with you when looking for it the first time."

"Absolutely loved this boutique style hotel. It is small with new interior, centrally located to San Marco. The decor is coordinated tastefully and it is quite comfortable. We had 2 rooms on top floor (4th) and off to the side is a sitting room with lots of books, sofas, chairs, etc. so that you can read, sit, surf internet (which is free of charge). It offers a homey atmosphere. Immediately outside the side door of the lobby gondolas stop to receive and leave passengers. The staff was accommodating in every regard and they were fluent in English. Our breakfast, which was included, was varied, delicious and presented beautifully. The lady in charge of breakfast was so friendly and proficient. I cannot say enough about this nice hotel. It was the highlight of our 17-day vacation in Europe."

Superb hotel in the centre of Venice
"It took some time to find the hotel and we found we'd walked past it a couple of times. There were no signs outside so check the directions on the web-site. It's about ten minutes from St Mark's and five from the Rialto Bridge. The hotel is pure luxury - with a beautifully decorated room with a superb view. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly, prepared to spend quite some time helping out. Nothing was too much trouble. The only niggle is that, although there is a breakfast area providing good quality food, there is no restaurant or bar. The nearest restaurant down the lane is to be avoided in my opinion, so finding a nice spot for a night-cap can involve a walk. A really excellent hotel which contributed hugely to our enjoyable visit to Venice."

Believe the hype
"We enjoyed our stay at the Aqua Palace. There's very little I can say that can add to the reviews below, so while echoing the positive sentiments [great people, comfortable rooms, nice breakfast with excellent coffee], one small issue: - We were in Room 403 which was extremely dark since it had only one small window. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent - the bathroom actually had a larger window that the room! So try and avoid this room if possible - it wasn't a big issue for us since we were out all day. Given that Venice is a very expensive city, this hotel is fairly priced and a nice touch is that everything is included in the price [breakfast, WifI]. The location is great - it really is just 5 minutes from San Marco or Rialto, and once you get tired of the crowds, the quieter areas of Cannaregio and Castello are just a short stroll away. It is a bit of a walk [15 minutes] to Dorsoduro, but exceedingly pleasant. The staff is excellent - Piergiovanni and Giorgio at the desk are great hosts, and helped us with multiple calls to the airport to track down some delayed luggage. A very pleasant experience - would definitely return when back in Venice."

Beautiful hotel in PERFECT location!!
"My huband and I spent 2 nights in this hotel while visiting Italy. The entire hotel is beautiful and the staff is VERY friendly and helpful. I highly recommend taking a private taxi to the hotel (it may cost 80 euro) but it is worth every penny. If you have never been to Venice getting around can be near impossile because you get lost very easily. The taxi will drop you off at the hotel's door, it was very cool! The hotel is located between St. Marks square and the Rialto bridge... PERFECT! Make sure you make mental notes of each turn you make leaving the hotel... we didn't and got lost in two minutes!! We had a standard room at first, which was a nice size with a huge marble bathroom but we decided we wanted a canal view and upgraded. WOW! The room was huge and the view was worth every penny. Breakfast was perfect! One dinner recommendation is called Osteria Ae Sconte (Hide and Seek). The food, service and atmosphere is outstanding!! Just take a left out of the hotel and you'll run into it. Take a right out of the hotel and there is a great little pizza place just steps away! We would stay here again if we were lucky enough to go back to Venice!!"

A romantic and magical boutique hotel with wonderful service
"We celebrated our honeymoon at the Aqua palace hotel for 3 nights in May. We had originally booked at another hotel but decided we wanted to be closer to the 'action' yet still be in a relatively quiet spot. After loads of research, we came across a promotion for this new hotel and decided to take a risk and book before any reviews came out. What a great gamble it was. The hotel is gorgeous and truly exceeded our expectation. The host/hotelier, Piergiovanni, his wife and the staff were wonderful to deal with. They were open, warm and engaging while still delivering top notch service. Breakfast was great. The room was enormous (625 square foot junior suite with a canal view). We were greeted with flowers, champagne and strawberries in the suite upon arrival... a lovely touch to congratulate us on our honeymoon. The location was 5 minutes stroll from St. Mark's square but because it was on a smaller canal, it was quiet, serene and private. We recommend this hotel highly and in our opinion would give it 5 stars all around. Venice is magical but Aqua Palace made it even more so."

The perfect hotel in a beautiful city
"We took a gamble on this hotel as it had only be opened a few weeks when we booked it and there really weren't many reviews to read. What a great choice we made. This hotel is fabulous. The location is perfect - it's right in the centre of everything yet nowhere near all the noise and hubbub that can be Central Venice. The hotel is brand new and beautiful. It's luxurious and has everything that you could want except for stuffiness. The staff really are there to make your stay a great one particularly the wonderful girl who looks after the breakfasts who went out of her way to make sure that everyone was looked after and with such friendliness. The breakfasts - fantastic - unbeatable in terms of choice and quality. The beds are SO comfortable to match the standard of everything else. I would not think of staying anywhere else in Venice - ever!"

Fantastic Hotel - could not recommend highly enough.
"We travelled to Venice by train (great way to do it if you have the time) all the way from Scotland due to the ash cloud. Not only did this hotel work with us so efficently and pleasantly with our very fluid arrival date but when we eventually arrived they upgraded our room. What a room we had, on the 4th floor with balcony windows overlooking a small canal and furnished to 5 star quality. The room, staff, location and food were immaculate. Everything you must see is within 10 mins walking at most but do wander further there is so much more to see in Venice. Could not recommend highly enough - I would rate this as a 5 star hotel."
