A pleasant stay.
"We arrived on Aug 2nd for one weeks stay. The room we had was a bit small for a family of 3 but it was clean and comfortable. The hotel was in a quiet location on the lakefront, there was a campsite just across the road but we did not notice any noise throughout our stay. The staff in the hotel were friendly and polite, the buffet breakfast and evening meals were of an excellent standard, the headwaiter - (Loris) had a great knowlege of wines and was a bit of a joker with his guests but still very proffessional. Overall it was an excellent weeks holiday in a lovely resort, we would definitely stay there again but would try and get a bigger room. Be aware that not all rooms have a balcony!"

very good hotel
"This relatively small hotel provides a very good holiday experience. Food is excellent, with expert guidance from the head waiter, with wine reasonably priced. Bed and public rooms are par for a 4* hotel in italy and immaculately clean. Bardolino is a picturesque village with many restaurants shops etc and is ideally placed for excursions for those without a car. However, driving locally is safe and opens up more possibilities. Any draw backs? Rooms are not big and the conditioning during a recent very hot spell was just adequate. Smoking is not allowed in public rooms but is allowed in bedrooms which can be a problem to subsequent non smoking guests. Overall this is a very good hotel."

"We have just returned on 1st July from a 10 day holiday at the Nettuno Hotel. The hotel is located right on the lake at the end of the lakeside prominade. The walk around the lake to Bardolino is beautiful or you can take the back road and be there in 5 minutes. The hotel was excellent, great food both at dinner and breakfast (which is served outside on the terrace). The staff were most helpful and friendly especially Loris the head waiter who made everyone welcome and he was also helpful in selecting food and wine, offering alternatives if any courses did not suit. If we were to go again we would book independently. The hotel would arrange a taxi from the airport. This way we would ensure that we got a lake view and balcony. The weather for us was unfortunately too hot - 90 - 98 degrees all the time. We were assured that this was 10 degrees warmer than usual for that time of the year. Next time we will go earlier. Bardolino itself if a lovely resort but it is worth visiting Lazize - one stop on the boat - a beautiful little town. We also visited Salo on the other side of the lake. It is less touristy and more stylish - where the Italians go I believe!"

"I've seen most places on Lake Garda, and in my opinion, Bardalino has it all. To go one step further, the Hotel Nettuno in Bardalino also has it all. Brilliantly located on the lake front, but in a quiet location, it is only a short 10 minute walk to the centre of this quaint resort, which has no shortage of bars/restaurants, shops, and live concerts. The hotel is fully air conditioned - trust me this was needed when we visited in July 2006 (we had temps of 35deg +), rooms are ample size with good facilities. The staff are brilliant, and cannot do enough to help. The food is beautiful and well presented although perhaps a little unadventurous, but I wouldn't criticise because of this point. There's an outside pool which isn't too large, but it's only a small hotel, and caters adequately for guests' needs. A lot of people we met seemed to have stayed numerous times before, and the Maitre D', Loris, greeted them like long lost friends at dinner. I think this is a good measure of the quality of the hotel, and it's certainly on my list to stay again."

Golden sunsets at Bardalino
"Arrived Friday pm 26 May 2006 for a weeks stay booked direct with the Hotel Nettuno for our first visit to the Hotel and 33years since our last visit to Lake Garda, very impressed by everything about the Hotel especially the Lake view from our balcony and our table in the dining room. We had the pleasure of several memorable sunsets during our week, the changing colours on the water and the distant hills were breathtaking and the sunset on Sunday brought tears of joy to my eyes because of its sheer magnificence. The staff were brilliant especially Lorris head waiter who was a pleasure to meet at each meal time and who recommended superb local wines for us to sample with each evening meal. Bardolino and its Lakeside neighbour Garda have plenty of shops, bars, pizzariers, gelatinos and restaraunts on the main thoroughfares and side streets to explore, far too many for a one week stay. Use the ferry to visit other villages on the lake its such a relaxing way to travel and the views from the lake to shore are great, but forget about traditional English queuing to board. Total satisfaction was our opinion when we reluctantly left but not before making enquiries about a return visit in September 2007."

Hotel nettuno Brilliant
"We have just got back earlier today from the Hotel Nettuno in Bardolino and had to write a review to say how wonderful it is. It is on the lake and everything about the hotel is fantastic. It is very clean, the terrace and pool are in a lovely position and the food is to die for. Bardolino is a very pretty resort and in an excellent location for exploring other areas of the lake. Just two things to note about the hotel is that not all rooms have balconies, we were very lucky and had a large balcony and laso the hairdressers were from another age and no good for drying hair. So ladies please take your own travel hairdryers. It is very conveneient for strolling into town in the evening and you can walk into Garda which is the village to the north. This is a lakeside walk that takes about 45 mins with plenty of places to sit down on the way. It is easy to get the bus into Verona. It costs 3.20 euros each way and takes aboutr an hour. You can also get a bus direct to Gardaland. It is really worth a trip"

"Just returned from our first trip to lake garda. We went on a late booking and it was allocated on arrival. We stayed at the Nettuno Hotel in Bardolino, the head waiter Loris is hilarious and a very good P.R.man he would get you talking to the people on the next table and soon everyone was making conversation. All staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful our own allocated waitress Cinzia (hope I have spelt her name correctly) was very bubbly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent breakfast was buffet style with a four course meal in the evening, compliments to the chef, everything was so well presented and cooked. The pool area is rather small but we always managed to get a lounger, the only other critisim I have is that not all rooms have a balcony. We spoke to numerous people in the hotel that had been at this hotel on previous occassions and to others that had been recommended this hotel. The hotel is a 10 minuet walk from the centre of Bardolino where there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars, it is a very flat area ideal for walking, pushchairs, wheelchairs or bikes. We took the ferry to a few of the other places on the lake but we thought that Bardolino was probably the best place to stay it is only about 30-40 minuets from Verona we went with a tour which only lasted the morning but I would recommend going by public transport buying a map and going around this lovely city at your own pace. Too many places to see on one visit but we did cram a lot into 11 days the rest we will see on our next visit."

Fantastic Holiday in Lake Garda
"Just returned from Bardolino, Lake Garda. The hotel Nettuno was friendly, well positioned right on the lake and the service second to none, particularly the head waiter who was hilarious as dinner. This was one of the most relaxing, romantic, cultural and beautiful holidays I have ever had. Bardolino itself is ideally situated to visit most of the Venetto region. We visited the beautiful city of Verona on an organsied excursion, although I would recommend catching a bus there and getting a map to organise your own day at leisure as we found ours was far too rushed trying to follow a guide round the busy street. We also took a lake tour by coach/ferry around the whole lake stopping at Malcesine, Riva, Limone, Sirmione, got to spend around 1 hour in each town. It was a cost effective way of seeing quite a few resorts in one go but it was tiring. Make an effort to go to Latzize, quaint, nice shops, restaurants etc and loads to look at. Bardolino in our opinion was the nicest resort on the lake with a good mix of restaurants, shops, entertainment and atmosphere. The resorts further up the lake tended to be quieter and more secluded, often situated on steep slopes. A word of advice for any Opera goers. If you can possibly afford the most expensive area 1 or 2 reserved seats or even the numbered seats in the arena then do so. We sat for 5 hours on blow up cushions which when placed on red hot stone steps turned into hot air balloons! Whilst the opera was beautiful and the voices superb, 5 hours on a hot stone step is too much for even me! All in all a most enjoyable break and we will certainly be going back to Italy in the near future!"

a lovely place to stay
"We have just come back from a holiday in Bardolino. It was a lovely holiday. The hotel provided a wonderful base from which to travel around the lake. All the staff were attentive to our needs especially the head waiter, our own designated waiter and the receptionist. The food was superb - 4 course meals every evening. It seemed a bit strange choosing our meal in the morning - but the resulting quality was worth it. The pool was relatively small but was a sun trap and there were always sunbeds available. The hotel was well positioned on the lake with an easy walk to Garda. Bikes could be hired cheaply if one wanted the exercise."

Top Class Hotel
"We have had four visits to the Nettuno and there is no doubt as to the highest quality of this hotel in accommodation, location and food. It is a pleasant stroll along the Lakeside from the centre of the town and is a restful and relaxing establishment. The Head Waiter is very skilled and the staff are extremely courteous and professional through all grades and responsibilities. Bardolino as a resort to us is the best on Lake Garda and we believe the hotel to be totally complementary to what we want from a relaxing holiday on the Lake. We thoroughly recommend Bardolino and in particular, this very fine Hotel."
