"Stayed for 5 days in this hotel and found it excellent value for money. The room was great serviced daily spotless clean and Roberto and his family are very friendly. They are very helpful if you require any local information. The location is just a short stroll from the main street of the town itself. The brewakfasts were a bit limited but fine.Overall would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel for anyone travelling to taormina."

"Spent two nights at the Soleado and found it to be very pleasant. Roberto (the owner/manager) was very helpful at all times, the room was clean and the location was good.Didn't spend any time around the hotel during the day and didn't go in the pool but would've done happily if we'd had more time there. Only negative comment would be on the thickness of the walls. Our neighbour suffered from a pretty bad smoker's cough which we were made fully aware of! All-in-all though; a good stay."

great value and very friendly
"We have just returned from the Soleado and had to write a review to tell everyone what a pleasesant experience we had. Its is Great Value and the family run hotel is clean and staff very friendly. The rooms are clean and of a good size with all rooms having a view of the pool. We had a deluxe room which had a massive balcony and view of the sea (in the distance). Large bed but only one pillow each, but am sure if we had asked we could have had another. There was shampoo and soap provided and towel change. Due to our afternoon flight we were able to check out at 11.00 and cases left in reception. Very cheap drinks at the bar. Only 5min down hill walk to centre which is lively with lots of shops and restaurants. If flying to Catania then get the bus to Taormina as only 5 Euro, and hotel is only 15min walk (up hill) or 15 Euro taxi from bus station. Would go here again!! :)"

Great location with friendly service
"This hotel has an extremely good location, only ten minutes from main street Corso Umberto. The room was nice and clean with all necessary facilities including air condition and some sat tv channels. Our room also had an excellent view on the sea. We could park the car at the hotel during our 7 nights stay for some extra fee. The service provided by Roberto and his family was really great, very kind and friendly, which for us was much more important than a bigger shower :). Roberto speaks English and is very helpful: he provides the possibility to access a very good beach and gives advice on programs and sightseeings. Therefore, we highly recommend this great hotel to everyone in the fabulous city of Taormina!"

Taormina Gem!! Best hospitality
"Booked at the last moment while in another town in Sicily. Stayed there for 6 days and loved every one of them...it turned out to be the best decision. Even though I was there a year ago...I still had to write a positive review...simply because the staff and hotel deserves it. Family run and owned...they were the most kind and warm hosts you could hope for. They take pride in their property and their guests. The hotel is clean...pool is nice, view is spectacular and the location is the best .... Price is right! For a mid-level hotel...this is a GEM!! stay there and enjoy yourself. I highly recommend it!"

What a truly lovely hotel
"We stayed at this lovely hotel for 8 days at the end of July and can honestly recommend it.Roberto and his staff were always so very friendly and helpful in every way.Our Room was basic but very clean with a good sized balcony overlooking a pretty pool area with sunbeds and parasols. The pool was very clean and suited our daughter aged 7 as it didn't have a deep end. There was lots of greenery and pretty flowering plants aswell as lemon trees all around the hotel /pool area. Our room was cleaned daily. Breakfast was simple but set us up well for the day(good coffee!) Its location couldn't be better. A short scenic stroll to the main shopping/restaurant area aswell as to the cable car that took you to the most beautiful shingle beaches.(we loved Isola Bela beach it was breathtaking). All in all, we, without a shadow of a doubt picked the best hotel. We feel that it should have been rated more a 3 star hotel than a 2 star. Taormina is a beautiful picturesque holiday destination. We had a fabulous holiday in a lovely hotel."

Excellent hotel in every way
"Just returned from two fantastic weeks at Soleado. This is a truly excellent hotel - deserves more than two stars. Roberto and family are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble (e.g. finding best taxi deal for return to airport, carrying luggage, booking restaurants etc.) Hotel is 10-15 minutes from main street so just far enough to be quiet and peaceful but an easy stroll each evening. Lovely little terrace with cheapest beer and wine in town - carried out to your table for you. Breakfast was a little limited (bread rolls and jam, cheese and ham each day) but we never paid for juice or for the chocolate croissants we requested as a change for our five yearold on a couple of occasions. Pool and pool area is lovely and kept very clean. Rooms are clean, cool with good air con and effective shutters and nice balconies (particular the end rooms - we had a triple room #35). We highly recommend the Soleado and would go again."

"We chose the hotel because of the nice pictures and reviews on booking.com and because they have a pool. When we got there we were a bit disappointed - pool depth was 90 cm, there was no shampoo/shower gel and the room was the lousiest during our 2 weeks stay in sicily (and the most expensive one). I found the breakfast skimpy. When we left we had an unpleasant incident. None of our credit cards worked. Neither did the credit cards of other people that were waiting behind us. Roberto just kept on trying and calling everywhere. We understood that he had forgotten to nightrun the system. We wanted to catch the train and asked him to call a taxi, we also suggested that we'd leave our contacts and credit card numbers, so he could charge afterwards. He just kept on repeating that he needs to charge first and it takes "cinque minuti" to get to the station. We spent 45 min waiting there. Finally he called the taxi and we got off. After a while Roberto called the taxi driver and asked him to turn around, he yelled at us when we tried to talk to him and kept calling us [--] and scum and told us to come back immediately. We agreed with the taxi driver that we'd take cash at the station and he'd take it to the hotel. When we got on the train (we almost missed it) the taxi driver came running and gave us back the money since they had succeeded to charge it from the credit card meanwhile.... Me and my mate have both been working in hotel business for years, but we've never seen such rude and unprofessional service."

Friendly family-run hotel in good location
"The location of Soleado is perfect, as it is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel to Taormina's main street, and a 5 minute walk to the cable car for the beach, which drops you at the beach in 2 mins. The staff are very friendly, and the owner speaks good English and is very helpful. Rooms are basic, with minimal furniture & Italian TV channels, but they are spacious and clean and have a balcony & air con. The bathrooms are small but clean, they don't have a bath but this was not an issue for us. We didn't try the food at the hotel other than breakfast, as there are loads of great restaurants in Taormina. Make sure you try Tiramisu, which is located at the bottom of the hotel's road, as it is great. Taormina itself is wonderful, very friendly, lots of lovely bars, cafes and restaurants, and great (but very hot!) weather. Would definitely recommend the hotel and the location."

A Fabulous Holiday
"My wife and I have just returned from a weeks break in Taormina and feel compelled to write and positively review the Hotel Soleado and its owner Roberto. Whilst the hotel is basic, if all you want is a place to sleep and relax then it would be hard to go past this hotel. Very centrally situated for Taormina town (a 5 minute walk down a slight slope), the views from the hotel are fabulous and worth the accommodation costs on their own. The 2 star rating is grossly underestimated (we normally stay in 4 star hotels which haven't been as good as the Soleado) and the friendliness and support of the staff, and in particular the owner Roberto, is worth a star in its own right. If you're planning to go to Taormina, don't pass up the opportunity to stay at the Soleado. And say Ciao to Roberto for me!"
