Great place to stay if you want to explore.
"This hotel was perfect for our needs, clean and functional, with a good breakfast buffet. It provided us with an excellent base to explore the Campania Region and all it had to offer, from the stunning scenery, to the rich heritage of places such as Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii, the Royal Palace at Caserta and the quiet peace of Montecasino. More importantly, the staff here are excellent, efficiently getting on with their jobs to ensure that our stay was a peaceful and restful one. Special thanks go to Luigi, who advised us on where the best beauty spots were and also of the hidden treasures of the area, in particular the Royal Palace at Caserta, which we would never had known about without his advice. Luigi is an asset to this hotel, his cheerful friendly advice meant that we found many more wonderful places to explore that without his help, we would never have known about. We are not 'beach sitters', preferring to spend our holidays walking and exploring, and the Hotel Eden gave us a perfect base to do this. Within easy walking distance of the town centre it gave us access to the bars and restuarants in the evening where we found some excellent small and friendly restaurants in the tiny backstreets which offered both excellent food and friendly service."

Surly clerks + terrible room = no fun
"It started like this: we rang the bell at the car gate for the third time before anyone answered. The voice said "RING THE BELL AGAIN AND YOU CAN STAY OUT THERE FOREVER." It went downhill from there. Before we could get checked in, we were in a shouting match with the clerk in the lobby. Apparently his time was pretty valuable, and our desire to get parked and checked in was out of place. The room was a box with a few pieces of WalMart furniture (the cheap stuff). The beautiful pool out the window belonged to another hotel-ours was the size of a home pool. But- good location. rear exit to the main street and a block to the center. If you stay here--not recommended--you won't want to spend much time at the hotel itself. Better yet- pass them by."

"I stayed at Hotel Eden for three days and I wish I stayed longer. The staff at the front desk were helpful and very friendly. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection of food and the if an item needed to be replinished the staff were present to do so. The hotel is located near everything you will need. Esy walking distance to the bus and train station. I traveled alone and I felt safe in the area at night. I had a basic room but I can't expect anything else since I was traveling alone. I especially liked the garden and the terrace. I can't wait to go back!"

Room was 1.5 star at the most
"Our room was below the standard (and higher priced) of many of the other 3 star hotels we stayed at during our trip through Italy. The walls were dirty and in need of paint. The toilet seat in our room (and in the toilet next to the bar downstairs) were disgustingly worn out. The shower doors fell off when we shut them. The bathroom had a cheap plastic trash bin and a dirty stool that the towels were laid on. There was no view from our 2nd floor window which looked onto a mess by the next building. The lobby and breakfast room were fine, but I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone."

"Me and my niece, 2 young women, had a wonderful time in Sorrento and were very happy with our stay in Hotel Eden. From the 5th floor we had a beautiful view on the seaside and Vesuvius. Very friendly service, in the hotel as well in the restaurant. The biggest plus for this hotel is its location, just around the corner you can find already Piazza Tasso: the centre of Sorrento. I can certainly recommend this hotel to young people who just need a decent hotel without the biggest luxury, close to the vibrant centre of the city, and with expectable prices!"

"bad bad bad beds. awful sleep. double bed was not a proper double, but two singles shoved together. You'd find better beds in a hostel. very uncomfortable rooms. no space. badly designed. showers have bad drains."

"Although well situated this hotel was substandard in a few ways, mostly the bathroom. The shower cabinet was to small for any average size person with 1/3 of it taken up with a totally inadiquate body spray system. in our bathroom there was no window or extracter fan and the shower was "less than spotless". The staff were very friendly and on the whole mostly helpful, although we were not advised that as over 65s if we took our passports on tours to Pompeii & Herculanium we could get in free as people from other hotels were."

Felt at home
"As I travelled with a girl friend, I lately loose my husband, we were looking for a suite in a typical Italian sfere, quiet, central and not too expensive. Our tour agent advised us the Hotel Eden, but some of the reviews frightened us. So we still checked in for Hotel Eden and crossed our fingers. But were hapilly surprised. No, no seaview, (but this we allready knew), but our large rooms with balcony had a wonderfull vieuw on the quiet garden, in wich we could read our book in one of those rocking chairs. And take a free swim in the swimming pool. It's a family hotel, even the boss and his wife were very gentle, and looked more like an old couple in love on vacation. Ãven the food surprised us. The "coninental breakfast" turned out to be a buffet with large variation. The staff was very friendly and helpfull, and Mario, the haidwaiter, allways calm and good tempered: great. We felt at home! The bar near the swimming pool had a marvellous sight on the mountains, and attracted many Italians wich means : good! And also the evening meals we had been afrais of, being both vegetarians: but no, every evening, we had a great choice, and there was allways fish on the menu. Ans thopugh it's right in the center, it(s very calm because of the large garden between the hotel and a quiet side-street of the Piazza Tasco. And of course: may (we staye there from 19th of May 2010 till 26 th of May) is a beatifull month to travel, all flowers are blowing. It was a marvellous trip and we'll surely come back! Upon arrival the main reception is lovel...
"Upon arrival the main reception is lovely. We were given our key to the smaller block for our room, which I would say to avoid at all costs. Very run down, old and not nice at all. We were moved into main block, 1st room was not cleaned and they had given us a disabled room so had no bath. Eventually we were moved a final time and the room was excellent in size and very comfortable and nice views of the Atlantic and the waterways. Very good location, 2 minutes walk to a variety of shops and restaurants. Internet access is free and unlimited in the lobby. Lovely restaurant and pool area is nice with a large gym as well. Very pleasant staff and a number of cabs available 24/7."
