We Shall Return!
"We booked after consulting tripadvisor & we were not disappointed. The rooms are spotless with cleaning service & clean towels every day & bed linen changed every few days. There are also pool towels available & these can be changed every 2 - 3 days.
Staff were extremely friendly & helpful, but I agree poolside bar prices were a little high (if Nic or Monica are reading this, lower prices would increase sales massively!)
Restaraunt is nicely positioned and the views from ALL rooms & restaraunt are magnificen
Only down side (apart from wasps which are outside the hotels control) is the toddlers pool area, we don't have kids but if we had they wouldn't have been allowed in!"

As it states on the can
"This was our second visit to Skiathos and our previous venue was the Nicholas Apartments which although basic had a superb lively pool bar. I will keep my comments to just the hotel as the Island needs no comment as it is a paradise of beaches and Tavernas and character in the port. The Magic is spotless and although staggered up a hillside the landscaping of the hotel layout and the views from your room is tremendous. The breakfast is generous and well served and the rooms are comfortable with aircon. yet no kettle to make a wake up tea. The pool is nice but it is true that there are only 24 sunbeds for the number of guests and worst of all there is no space to lie on a towel if you are not a chosen one. There are not enough sunbeds or enough space and the poolbar is a gesture item only. I witnessed towels laid on all beds early a.m. before breakfast only for one of the owners to emerge for his prize at 11.45. This was the English by the way and it seemed that as the days passed the practise did wane. The staff are lovely. Nikos and Monica cannot do enough to help and create a lovely atmosphere. However, with no inside Hotel/Pool bar there is little chance of meeting your fellow guests and there is no night-time atmosphere. It is a lovely Hotel with super people running it but, if the staff and Nikos with Monica were not there it would be a little bit of a cold fish if you see what I mean."

Overall ok bt could be better
"We stayed at the Magic 3 weeks ago after reading so many good reviews on here about it.
We arrived and were given a warm welcome from Nikos and Monica - the hotel looks impressive from the outside and we were quite impressed by the overall appearance of the hotel. Nikos and Monica go out of their way way to ensure you are ok and there is certainly a warm aptmosphere on arrival.
The hotel itself is lovely and clean and the rooms are nice - we had a deluxe double and it was nice - not the nicest I've stayed in but certainly a lot better than a lot in Greece.
The downsides to this hotel are the fact that there is not enough room around the pool area and sunbeds are very rare to get hold of - there are probably only about 20 beds and compared to the amount of rooms there are (not sure, but must be 250+) it isnt hard to work out why its a struggle to get one! Most people head to the beach for the day - the usual trick of putting the towels out early happened whilst we were there and it does get on my nerves! . The pool bar is extortionately expensive - charging almost £5 for 2 cokes! However, at the side of the pool there is a vending machine where you can buy exactly the same for about £1! Make sure you use this rather than the bar. Each day the barman told us he didnt have any change so be prepared to take change rather than notes if you are buying a drink from there - he was quite abrupt when telling us 'everyday I have no change, please bring change to buy a drink' - if he knows that he needs it then surely he should have some! Thats Greece for you though!!!!
The steps are another downside - yes the views are fabulous, but we are 2 able bodied people and did really get fed up of the stairs - we counted over 120 steps to our room and there were rooms that were even higher, so I feel sorry for the people in those! In the heat it really is hardwork after spending a week doing it! Please consider this if you are eldery, unfit or have young children as it can be quite a battle!
Although Monica and Nikos dont own the hotel, they are really nice and do try and do anything they can to make your stay nice, as if they are owners - they do need to be realistic though about the hotel - it is a 4* and an average 4*, however listening to Monica saying how she thinks the other hotels (5*) are not very good (we mentioned we had stayed in one the year before and she quickly told us it was bad and the food was terrible - it wasnt, it was first class!). Your hotel is nice for what it is - you need to be proud of it and not try to compete with the larger hotels.
Overall I would rate the hotel well - its clean, its friendly, Nikos and Monica are welcoming, the breakfast is lovely, and the location is good - you could do a lot worse in Greece."

Lovely hotel with everything you could need for a perfect holiday
"We stayed at the Magic Hotel for a week on 5th June 2007 for a relaxing break. (wish we would have made it 2 weeks now) When we arrived at the Hotel we were greeted by the very friendly hosts and were more than pleased that the Hotel looked better then the pictures on the Web. We chose a luxury room at the top of the Hotel which was lovely and the views were wonderful.
This Hotel is the cleanest Hotel we have ever stayed in, the rooms and public areas are absolutely spotless. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast on the patio is a delight. The hotel also own the local taverna (a minutes stoll through the Hotel) and the food here is excellent and very reasonable. There is a great pool with comfortable sun loungers and the bonus of a lovely little poolside bar where you can be served drinks and coffee by lovely staff. The hotel also has a very romantic terrace restaraunt. All in all, everything you could possibly want for a fantastic Greek holiday.
The bar in the taverna owned by the Magic is lovely and has a friendly atmosphere. A nice stroll from the hotel brings you to a fabulous beach were you can rent sunbeds but the Hotel are so thoughtful they provide beach items for all the guests.
The location of this Hotel is perfect. You can catch a very regular bus into Skiathos town at the bottom of the Hotel, which we often did, day and night as Skiathos Town is really nice with plenty to do and great to just soak up the atmosphere and shop!. You can also catch the local bus to all the beaches on the Island which are so lovely and so close! We also took the boat trip from Skiathos to Skopolos for the day, great day out for about £15 each.
What a lovely and friendly Island this is. Whilst we were staying at the Magic Hotel, my husband left an expensive camera in the back of a taxi. When we arrived back from Skiathos, Michael at the Hotel was so helpful, making telephone calls to help him try to find it , he tracked down the driver and he drove straight back to the Hotel with the Camera. We were absolutely delighted.
I would certainly recommend this lovely Hotel to anyone. If you enjoy quality, service, first class facilities, no loud brash entertainment but a friendly atmosphere in wonderful surroundings at very reasonable costs, don't hesitate - Just go!!!"

Lovely relaxing and friendly hotel
"We stayed in the Magic Hotel over May half term and loved it. The hotel was supposed to be full but it never felt it â there were always lots of sunbeds available around the pool and the atmosphere was peaceful.
The hotel is situated close to bus stop 16 and, although it is next to the road, you cannot hear traffic in the rooms at night. A word of warning â there are lots of steps up to the rooms!
The staff at the hotel are fantastic; particularly Monica and Nikos who made everyone feel very welcome and were always pleased to help. And a special mention for Julian as well who works very hard at breakfast and in the Taverna.
The breakfast terrace is wonderful â sitting in the morning sunlight overlooking the bay is a great start to the day. Good range of hot and cold dishes â the little croissants and pain au chocolat were very nice.
The hotelâs Taverna was only a short walk up the road and we ate there three times. We loved the welcoming atmosphere and all the food tasted freshly cooked. I recommend the veal stifado with Greek oven potatoes. Also try the ice creams for desert â they come with a surprise!
There is a decent sized supermarket nearby which stocks just about anything you are likely to need. However, we found the prices for everything (apart from fresh cherries â yum!) to be much higher than in the UK. Would recommend people bring their own teabags, coffee and sugar.
Buses run both ways fairly frequently â there is a timetable but we found it didnât really help! The buses are very very crowded but luckily stop 16 seems to be the last one either way where the driver squeezes in the final few bodies!
If you like walking there are some great treks nearby. We took the road after the supermarket and then turned left after Taverna Mastrali (?) From here it is a steep climb up the road/track but the views from the top make it very rewarding indeed. To make this a circular walk keep going and take the first road left which eventually brings you out by bus stop 17 on the main road, it is then a short walk back to the hotel. Also recommend walking back from Evangelistrias Monastery following the road initially then the track which is signposted down through the olive groves."

Five Star Experience at the Magic!
"We were really impressed by the Magic hotel. First of all, its situated ideally half-way between Skiathos town and Koukanaries, only a few mins to a nice beach and some very good tavernas. The hotel itself is perfect. The rooms are lovely and spotless. The views are amazing. The breakfasts were really nice. The pool area and jacuzzi were as good as you'll find anywhere. But what impressed us most was the excellent and friendly service at all times. Monica and Nikos have a lovely four star hotel that really is a five star experience. Looking forward to our next visit already!"

"We, the Greeks, are famous for our hospitality. The greek hospitality has been praised several times through history. However, travelling as a tourist in my own country the last couple of years I have sadly noticed that we have started loosing this. The welcoming is not warm, the service is not made with care, the smile is not honest and people contact is not humane. Experiencing this had filled me with sorrows, until I visited Magic hotel.
My stay in Magic hotel in Skiathos wake up my hopes again for my people. The people in Magic hotel is an excellent example of what a true and warm greek hospitality should mean. The rooms were in excellent condition, the people were warm and always ready to help and at the same time very discreet, the breakfast buffet offers a big variety and the service was always provided with a true and honest smile. It was undoubtedly the most pleasant stay we have experienced with a reasonable price (because this should count, too!)."

It's just Magic.....
"Have just spent a glorious week at the Magic having used the various pieces of advice on this site. Can I confirm that booking was very easy - email in my case and my couple of queries were answered promptly. Monica, Nikos AND the rest of the team were always helpful and obliging from the moment we arrived.
Little but important things like the welcome drink as we checked in, the conducted tour of the facilities while our luggage was taken up. Magic!! The restauarant in the hotel(The View) was not yet open - hopefully this week - but the Platanias taverna(same family)100metres down the road was open. Lovely food here(the house wine is excellent) and again a great atmosphere. It is worth noting that we felt that eating outside of Skiathos Town was perhaps a little cheaper, but we didn't venture far. Also tried Nectar and Ambrosia (by Bus stop 19-opposite Victorias) - very nice too. We will go back and sample a little more of the island soon.
Transport was relatively easy though we regularly seemed to miss the bus by about five minutes and then along came the prowling taxis. Into Skiathos can be around 10Euros BUT negotiate and if needs be, share. The bus is 1.40Euros. Taxi from the airport was 15 Euros and took 15 mins."

You won't find better!
"Stayed at the Magic for two weeks with my mum, having met Monica, Nikos and Barcelona Nikos the previous year whilst eating/drinking at Taverna Platanias (which is also owned by the same family). This is the first time we had stayed here and it was absolutely fantastic. The care and attention from all the staff, the quality of the food, the location and views of the hotel cannot be beaten!
It was a very relaxing break - the pool area is peaceful, the sunbeds are very comfortable, the jacuzzi is just the right temperature and the pool is great for cooling off when the heat all gets too much. Towels are available and if you want to hit the beach then there is a variety of beach gear for you to borrow (umbrellas, snorkel gear, inflatable rings etc)
Breakfast is a complete delight and Yannis goes to a lot of trouble to make sure you get your tea or coffee served to you just how you like.
If you can't be bothered to walk the 3 minutes to the nearest Taverna (and Aghia Paraskevi has a fantastic selection) then the food at The View is worth checking out. With panoramic views across the bay, sipping wine as the sun goes down has never felt so wonderful.
We also met a fantastic crowd of people while we were there - everyone is extremely welcoming and friendly. We can't wait to go back again.
For all I have just raved about this hotel, I will give one word of warning: If you are not very good at walking or climbing stairs then sadly this isn't the hotel for you. To have such a fantastic view means that you have to climb lots of stairs between the 3 blocks - especially if you are in the deluxe rooms. Please keep that in mind."

Magic hotel is exactly that
"Although Skiathos is more popular since we first visited in 1988 it
still retains a wonderful charm and with 66 beaches to choose from
finding your own isolated piece of paradise is still possible
especially in may june and september.
The neighbouring island of skopelos is well worth a visit on the flying dolphin ferrys 40 minutes. Buses are a little crowded in high season but car hire is cheap and good for the more isolated beaches. We have visited 16 times and compared to many other greek islands Skiathos wins all beauty contests."

Fantastic hotel. Beautiful views of the...
"Fantastic hotel. Beautiful views of the island from every bedroom balcony and whilst swimming in the large pool. The rooms are clean and modern and fresh towels are provided every day. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food at the hotel restaurant is by far the best on the island. 100 metres down the road, the owners also own a separate restaurant and bar called the Platanias - here you will find multi-lingual staff who create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and some great cocktails!
Once you visit this hotel you will want to come back as it pure Magic. I have been returning for 8 years now and a lot of the customers are also regulars on the island, so there is never a shortage of people to talk to. If you are going to visit Skiathos, the Magic hotel is by the far the best place to stay - it will be an experience you will never forget!!!
