"we came here with our 15yr old son for 2wks.Best holiday ever, what a gem. Fantastic location, excellent hotel (good food, clean, lovely staff etc)I cannot beleive anyone would have any complaints about this hotel, on its own beach with its own water taxie to Skiathos Town!our teenage son also loved it as he made lots of friends, same or similar age.We have regarded this holiday as a well kept secret!until now......"

"Hotel spotless.Staff helpful. Food disappointing, same every day, and always running out. Quiet location [apart from the neighbours dog]. Only entertainment provided was a singer/pianist on a saturday night. The taverna next door had a Greek night on a Thursday. Water taxi is a great way to get into Skiathos town, 2 Euro's. Worth hiring a car and exploring up the mountains, some fantastic views. Skiathos as got very expensive over the last couple of years."

"We stayed here from the 2nd to the 16th of May 2008 and had a great holiday. The hotel is situated right on the beach with really beautiful sea views and a water taxi that takes you into Skiathos town (approx 10 minutes journey) for 2 euros each, (we paid 60 euros in Venice for a similar distance). Our room was cleaned every day and we found all other areas of the hotel to be spotlessly clean. when we arrived there were only six other people staying at the hotel as we had arrived on the first flight in to the island, so we were later told, the next day a few more arrived and gradually the hotel seemed to get busier day by day until when we left there were approximately 200 people staying there and many more to come. We found that quite a lot of bars and restaurants were still closed and were not due to open until around the middle to the end of May as it was the beginning of the season and therefore fairly quiet when we were there. There are a limited number of sunbeds (approx 40) around the very nice but rather small swimming pool but the beach is right in front of you so its not a problem. There are two bars at the hotel, both of these are expensive in my opinion (most spirits seemed to be about five euros exept "Ouzo" and "Metaxa" of course) one is the "Pithari bar" which is the large main bar area and the other is the "beach bar" which overlooks the sea, unfortunately this bar was not open in the evenings when we stayed and used to close at 5pm but it was due to be opening a little later when we left. There is a very good Taverna next to the hotel on one side and a very nice bar on the other side, both overlooking the beach. There are some gorgeous beaches on Skiathos and as is normal for Greece lots of them are only accesible by boat so forget the expense and hire yourself a small boat for a few hours and explore the island from the sea. There are plenty of very nice Tavernas and bars in Skiathos town, however we did find them to be a little expensive compared to our recent Greek holidays in Corfu, Kefalonia and Cyprus but we never had reason to complain as every meal we had outside the hotel was exceptionally good. My only minor negative comment would be that the food in the restaurant at the hotel was ok but we felt that it could have been much better, however, considering that we were staying in a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with excellent friendly service from very helpful and knowledgeable staff (especially Vasiliki and Stephanos) we were not going to let this minor detail spoil our holiday unlike some guests that were constantly complaining, we even heard one lady complain to the reception that she did not like the orange juice that was served at breakfast and could this be changed, some people are never happy but that is their loss. All in all we had a fantastic holiday that cost us a little more than we had expected but it was worth it and we look forward to going back to Skiathos, although probably self catering next time."

"I could not fault the hotel which was spotless, however the reception staff left a lot to be desired. On arrival we were just told our room number and pointed to the lifts and left to find our own way. The food in the hotel although repetitive was very nice and plenty of choice. The bar where you are served with glass`s appeared to be very much in favour of the Germans as we sat in there on several occasions and the waiters would ask them their orders but ignore us, and we would end up fetching our own. The animation team work very hard but are not intrusive when they are trying to get participation they will ask once and if you say no will go away. My other grumble was for a hotel so big there did not appear to be enough lifts especially in the mornings and late afternoon when everyone is going out or coming back in. All in all it was a very enjoyable holiday once you got used to the Germans who outnumbered the English by approx 65% and were always reserving the sunbeds for the whole day. This is a great place for children although we have none, I can see why people chose to go here because there is so much for them to do."

Fantastic, I want to go Back
"I got back two days ago and i miss it already. The beach was gorgeous, right by the hotel. The hotel was really clean and the staff were really friendly and so was everyone else in the hotel. The water taxi which took you into town was really quick and convinient. And the town was amazing it was busy but not too crowded and you couldnt get very lost because you always found your way back to the port. The weather was lovely and hot all the time, it rained once but only during the night. It was a fantastic hoiday i would reccomend it to everyone and i really want to go back!!"

"For anyone looking to relax in a first class hotel on a lovely beach in peace, this is the one! The hotel is spotless, the staff are friendly, the half board buffet is very good. There are a limited number of young children as there is no children's club, so it's also a very peaceful setting. The hotel is situated on a very clean shingle beach with sparkling clear sea. The taxi boat runs every hour to Skiathios Town, which is 15 minutes away and is absolutely charming with some excellent restaurants. On a cool day, take a trip to the Dog Rescue Centre in the mountains, less than 10 minutes by taxi, and walk the dogs whilst taking in the stunning scenery. The English ladies up there are doing a fantastic job, as the many waggy tails that greet you will confirm. Do take some cash for the donation box!! The pool at this hotel is tiny, with the 25 or so sunbeds being "reserved" by dawn, so it is not suitable for pool lovers, but with such a lovely beach at hand it doesn't matter."

"Just returned from the Skiathos staying at the Esperides with 3 children 11,15 and 16. We travelled with First Choiceand had a great time and all the reviews helped with the choice that we made for our summer hol.Transfer to the hotel was through their own minibus which was great. The hotel is very clean although the rooms are basic. Meals were very good and for less adventurous children there was always an option for them to choose. For Breakfast there was a choice of cooked breakfast, continental and fruit/cereal , and evening meal had soup of the day upto 10-15 main course choices, and sweets, pastries , fruit and ice-cream to finish. The pool area is fairly small but was never a problem. The sunbeds dominate the beach and could work out expensive for a family like us of 5 over the period of the 2 weeks as there is little space left on the sand. The water taxi was an excellent option to get to Skiathos town running throughout the day. Take care on the local buses as the safety of the passengers getting on and off is not always considered and it is a competition to see how many can get on the bus at any one time. Not a lot for the teenagers to do on a night, most congregate on the beach or hop between the 3 bars, although both of ours said they had a great time. Have fun if you decide to go!! :-)"

Great location on best beach on the island
"Just back and can't wait to go again next year. Took 4 teenagers and wanted somewhere safe but with a bit going on. There were plenty of other teenagers there so fun on the beach in the evenings with a few bars but not too mad. Also opportunities to go to Skiathos Town on the sea taxi daytime and evenings. The rooms are fairly plain but cleaned daily and spacious enough. The hotel is quite tired but charming too.The food was ideal in that everyone went and chose what they wanted from the hot buffet though I was fed up of mass catering by the end of the second week. There's an outdoor terrace and indoor dining area. The service was generally very good. The beach Taverna Paradise next door was fantastic for lunch and great value. We didn't use the pool at all as it is too small and there is no room around it and all sunbeds 'reserved' by 8am. 8 Euros on the beach for two sunbeds and parasol, and the beach is fab with watersports and jetty where we fished for very small fish! Will definately return. In fact the vast majority of the people we met were in their 4th or 5th year there."

A very nice hotel
"My girlfriend and I staid at Esperides hotel for one week in the end of July. Before booking I checked the other feedbacks here in Tripadvisor and I have to say that they helped me a lot in deciding to go there. Our experience was great. The hotel is very clean, not too far from the airport and Skiathos city. The taxi-boat is very useful if you want to buy a lot of stuff in Skiathos town. What can I add to the other comments? Prices overview: - one-way trip to Skiathos town by the taxi boat: 2⬠- two beds and one umbrella on the beach beside the hotel: 8â¬/day - rent a 50cc scooter from the reception: 12â¬/day - Round the island exursion, from the reception: 18⬠(recommended!!) - If you play tennis: 6â¬/hour - Eating in the Tavernas or at the pool bar costs in average about 15-20⬠for two persons. I suggest you to rent a scooter and look for less tourist beaches: they are on the opposite island side of the hotel. We staid in Skiathos for only one week, but we really enjoyed the vacation and we visited almost everything there. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. The pool is unuseful because too small and the dinner is very good (maybe after some days it is a bit less varied). You can check more photos that we took at Skiathos here: http://gallery.lapsus-traxx.com/Skiathos07"

"Stayed at the Esperides for 1 week, it is a lovely hotel if you really want to relax, the rooms were clean and nice, we had a sea view which was lovely, the food was good there was always something for everyone, the pool is very small and deep having no shallow end so is not child friendly and people do put towels on sun beds early but there is always space on the beach, you can get the taxi boat which takes you to Skiathos town 2 euros Skiathos town has all the nightlife, the last boat leaves Skiathos town at 11pm but there are plenty of taxis to take you back to the hotel the cost is 6 euros, we travelled with Thomsons and went on the moonlight cruise it was ok but we didn't feel it was worth the money 43 euros per person. my only fault of the hotel is that there is no entertainment in the evening which is unusual for a hotel of this size, overall we had a nice holiday. Skiathos is a very pretty island not loads to do so 1 week is more than enough."

"We stayed at this lovely hotel for two weeks from 20th june/4th july. what a super place this is .The location is perfect, right on the beach. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The rooms were simply furnished, a decent size and spotless. We had a seaview room and the views were superb. The food in the hotel was very good, something to tempt everybody be they meat eaters or vegetariens. The hotel has two bars in which to relax in both very pleasant The bar prices were okay as well. Of course its very easy to travel into Skaithos Town eiher by the water taxi which I can highly recommend or by the frequent bus service which runs every15 mins or so, times for both services are on a board in the Reception. If you are a late night owl the price of a taxi back from town to the hotel is 6 euros, but dont be surprised if you find yourself sharing with others, We never found this a problam and met some nice people this way ! Can i just say if you hire a car or a bike please find time to go to the dogs home its a lovely place to visit and it is staffed with hardworking mostly english volunteers. its not only for dogs they have cats and kittens as well. The staff will show you round and you can take one of the dogs out for a walk in the lovely countryside if you wish. Skiathos is a beautiful island and the Esperides Hotel a perfect location. Would we go again you bet we would hopefully in September!"

Chiil Out Time
"We booked this holiday last year after reading the reports on Trip adviser all I can say is they were spot on! the hotel is spotless in every way the bedding is changed every 2 days and the rooms cleaned daily, the food does become a bit boring after 2 weeks but it was that good it didnt really matter. On the down side the Pool is not Big enough for the number of guests it would be full with 20 people in trying to swim, the Sun Loungers are taken early by the usual sort of people who dont care as long as they are alright ! as a result you are forced to the Beach where the 2 sunbeds and 1 Parasol cost 8 Euros daily which soon mounts up over a fortnight. We used the Water Taxi to go to Skiathos town at 2 euros each way it is certainly cheap enough and an experience. Would we return you bet but for only a week as there is not a lot to do on the island but it was that Hot while we were there you didnt want to do much"
