"Well..what can i say. Bit of a dissapointment. We arrived and got made very welcome but then got our suitcases snatched of us by a helper and got chatted up. Not what you expect when you've just arrived at a holiday destination. Got into the room. Not very big. Uncomfortable beds but what do you expect. Loud music played everynight until unknown hours. Pools not very clean. Very cold until you get used to it and i got an eye infection when i went in it. Got told we were near to the main town. Just to find out we were around 30 minutes away and had to cross a busy duel carriageway. Overall quite good holiday but not like what it says in the brocher."

"If you want a total Greek holiday this is the place to be. We were well pleased with our accommodation. Although the rooms were small they were very clean. We were lucky to get a ground floor studio which were a little bigger than some of the others. Our room was cleaned twice a week. The owners lived on the top floor and always had time to say hello. I would recommend this accommodation for couples not ideal for family with children. It was a quiet place apart from the cockerel early in a morning but after a few days you didn't notice it any more."

"We have just arrived back from Paralio Astros. This is a lovely place. Mainly for Greeks so it was not tourist at all. Got to say it was a wonderful place friendly and just what we were looking for, The journey from the Airport took about 2 and a half hours. But on the way we stopped for a break and drink. The Astros studio's/apartments were on a quiet side street away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Everything was in easy reach and within walking distance. Got to say if you are a keen motorbike person and want to hire one of these then there is no facilities in Paralio Astros. We had to go over to Naplio which is a good hour away. But they fetched us and took us back when we had finished. I would highly recommend these apartments and resort they were on the small side but very clean and comfortable. We were on the ground floor which was ideal as we could sit on our veranda and watch the world go by."

Astra is the real heaven
"We've been to the Astra 2 times now and you can't do anything but love it! The most beautiful and peaceful view in the world. George, the manager, is amazing and can accomadate almost everything. I'll shall return, Santorini is heaven!"

"This place was simply wonderful! The location on the island has the most magnificent view. We really had no need to travel to Oia to see the sunset. The one from the balcony of our suite was perfect! George was extremely nice and helpful. All the restaurants and attractions he recommended were on the money! He was just one of many ppl we met in Greece that were more than accomodating to us. When I booked a Senior suite, I didn't expect a HUGE 2 bedroom apartment! But, that is what we got. It's 3 times the size of our old aprtment in NYC! Highly recommend staying here for lovely Grecian holiday."

Best Hotel in Santorini (Get a private suite!!!)
"Simply put, if you travel to Santorini do not stay anywhere else but the Astra! The staff are extremely attentive and pleasant with no request too great...the location could not be better...the suites are superb! A quick phone call to request cream and 30 seconds later a staff member comes bounding down the stairs to your private room with cream in hand. We stayed there for a week and did not come away with a single complaint...except that we could not stay longer! I would definitely recommend staying in the suite with the Jacuzzi or the suite with the private infinity pool (there are 2 of each available). We stayed in both and each are spectacular. We did not stay in any of the smaller rooms but they did not look nearly as appealing - so our review may be tainted by the superior rooms that we were able to reside in. But the fact that we did not hear another person (and we were there in July) except our staff when called made it incredibly special. Believe me, there cannot be a better hotel on this island!"

You have to stay here, there's no place like it !!!!!!!!!!
"What an incredible Hotel. I can't say enough nice things about it. The location is ideal, Santorini is the most amazing island, don't waste your time staying in Fira, Imerovigli isn't far. It is serene and peaceful away from the boat-loads of cruise ship tourists. The rooms are great, but trust me you'll be outside enjoying the amazing view most of the time. The staff is so kind and helpful. I can't wait to go back. Our stay at the Astra was one of the highlights of our honeymoon! If you go in May bring a sweater."

"The view, the accommodations, the service -- wow! Breakfast on your private veranda, delivered with a call in advance -- how thoughtful. We went elsewhere to see the sunset two other nights, before we realized we were already at the best place to see it. It's an "I can't believe I'm really here" kind of place."

What a dream!
"What a fabulous place. We could not have asked for anything better. George was helpful beyond belief with local restaurants, taxis, car rental, etc, and he seems to work 24 hours a day. The view can't be beat - the best location in the village with the best view. Imerovigli is in the middle of the caldera with the most ideal view of the volcano and the sunset. Definitely resist the temptation and numerous hotels in Fira (too crowded and busy) and Oia (too far from all the island attractions). Imerovigli is a beautiful 15 minute walk to Fira along the cliffside or a 4 euro taxi. Oia can be reached for about 10 euro in a taxi. We took a two week vacation to Europe (Athens, Santorini, Naxos, Scotland and Ireland). This was easily the best place we stayed. It had everything you would want from the view, staff, complimentary bottle of wine on arrival, cliffside pool, fantastic room service, beautiful rooms. Can't recommend this enough. This should be the #1 place on Santorini!"
