"Returned last night on last XL flight from Samos! The Villa Anna studios are some of the best we`ve stayed in on the Greek Islands. The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh linen every other day.The pool area is very nice but the pool itself was cold despite th air temp in the 80`s.Its a shame the pool bar closed at 6 as that prevented the guests from mixing in the evenings. The town of Pythagorio is lovely with lots of bars and restaurants, the best being The Elia at the far end of the harbour. The island itself is spectacular and a week didnt really do it justice.Overall a superb destination for adults who want a relaxing break. We went with Kosmar although that has now obviously gone by the board which is a shame as we have always found them to excellent."

loved every second
"i returned from the perfect holiday 2 weeks back and still cant get it out of my head. myself my husband and my two 10-12 year old daughters. this was our second year at the villa anna studio's and again the again blew us away. the owners young daughter lillian was very fast working and polite to all guests and her greek salads were lush. also the veiw from the pool side is beautiful, the lovely hill sides. they rooms were cleaned well whenever the maid did it, she pool was cool and refreshing and the sun beds were comfortable and they allow lilo's in the pool wich is nice to relax on. i strongly recomend this place for anyone who is wanting a beautiful holiday on the island of samos because its not just the villa that blew us away its the beautiful town, pythagori, it has amazing shops and bars and the port is lovely to just walk along. this holiday can be for familys couples or just friends wanting the best for there money."

Fantastic Studios, Beautiful Island!
"My partner and I have just returned from a week at the Villa Anna Studios. We are regular visitors to Greece and were extremely impressed with the standard of this accomodation. Our room had a lovely patio area and was spacious and comfortable. We found the self catering facilities very good and our room was cleaned every single day which we had not been used to during previous holidays. The reported ariport noise is not a problem at all and the gardens around the accomodation obscure any view of the runway whilst you're relaxing by the pool. The staff at the accomodation are friendly, relaxed and very approachable, even treating us to a complimentary glass of Samos Wine on our arrival - which I can highly recommend!!
Samos itself is a fantastic island, there was so much to do that we didn't manage to fit it all in to a week so we are planning a return asap!! The resort of Pythagorio is a lovely bustling harbour town with plenty of restaurants and chilled out bars. Our favourite restaurant was Elia which can be found towards the far left of the harbour - fantastic food at great prices. Saying that we didn't have a bad meal during our stay - great variety of places to eat all over the island.
We hired a car so that we could see all of the island and we found some very pretty villages and beaches. Particular favourite beaches were Psilli Ammos to the east of Pythagorio and Votsalakia in the south. We also took a boat trip to Patmos which is beautiful but the journey is a long and tiring one.
My partner and I had a wonderful week in Samos and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday on a beautiful island which is quiet and ideal for relaxing and sightseeing."

could be better
"Have just returned from 2 week stay..
Could not fault rooms- very clean. Location to airport fabulous, watching planes taking off was added attraction. Felt the place lacked bit of atmosphere. Lilian(owners daughter) managed the bar wonderfully during day and put up with my hubbys sense of humour!!! However the same cds repeating all day around the pool were monononious and predictable. What happened to good old greek music! More importantly the bar shut at 6.00. No oportunity to chat with other guests over a drink. The owner who lived on site spoke only twice in the 2 weeks. So much potential. We dont like noisy rowdy places but welcome meeting others. Met most guests whilst waiting for transfer coach home.

"Lovely basic accommodation, about 1.5 miles from main town Pythagorian with swimming pool (rather cold). We hired a car for the week â¬150 late September, decided Pythagorian was the place to be. Lovely harbour with typical bars and restaurants with traffic banned 6pm + except taxis. Heading out East from the town within a couple of miles found 3 lovely quiet coves with bars, too far to walk, for us anyway. You don't need to go to the beach marked on road map, it's not so well sheltered and a fair way to go. Sunbeds and umbrella â¬5 a day, brilliant.
The only problem was the air con, Anna will not switch it on if she decides it's too cool ie 30. We shall not go back there due to this."

"Arrived at airport .No hassle straight through and on coach within 15 minutes. 5 minute ride to Villa. Well kept apartment , basic but adequate. No kettle being biggest problem. Every morning roll out of bed anytime and get sun lounger by the pool, no problems with not enough sun beds here!
As mentioned only 5 minute ride from airport so some airplane noise, but only about 10 flights a day so nothing to bother anyone to much.
About 20 minute walk to the town with lots of taverna's all about the same price. 2 course meal with a drink each about 22 euro's.
Supermarket the opposite direction from town about 5 minutes selling most things, bottle of vodka 7 euros, 4 cans beer 3.50, bread 1.80, lots of fresh fruit.
We hired a car for the day 40 euros and went to Samos town (uninspiring) and west to the other side of the island to what was described by our rep as waterfalls where you could swim. First waterfall about 8 feet high in 4 foot of water ,second ( after along climb up...and down) about 15 feet.
On saying that the scenery here was great but the waterfalls are not for the young or elderly as very tiring.
Hiring the car for the day was well worth it just for the veiws and would highly recommend you do the same or a coach tour.
All in all the holiday was a great time for relaxing"

Off the beaten track
"This hotel is actually very nice, very clean and very quiet but slightly off the beaten track. Itâs rated as a Thomson 3T, but realistically it is more likely a 2-star rating simply because of the facilities and amenities. Anna and her husband, who run the hotel, are helpful and polite and let you get on with things which could possibly be construed as a bit hands-off in the customer care department. The lady who cleans the rooms keeps them spotless. They are cleaned to within an inch of their lives, which was really great and nice to come back to after being out all day. Whilst we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Anna, we actually found this hotel to be a bit too quiet for us (weâre not exactly party animals either â weâre a couple in our early 40âs). These little studios are aimed at couples and currently marketed to UK guests only. The pool is nice and clean but I would think that it is a too deep for toddlers and small children to play safely. There are 14 twin rooms, which for me, made it seem like it lacked a bit of atmosphere as there is no pool bar in the evening (strictly speaking - although it was open for the family a couple of nights!) and in the day it was really quiet even with people sitting round the pool and the bar open.
The resort centre of Pythagoria is fantastic and comes to life at 10pm a great place to cool down on sweltering hot evenings. Itâs quite cosmopolitan, which surprised us. It offers great food including a significant vegetarian selection. I would certainly recommend the crepes which you can get all along the front and the Creperie in the town. Be sure to go up to the ultra-classy little bistro above the shops opposite the Creperie along the main road in Pythagoria. We enjoyed wandering around the nice little shops (they are not the usual holiday shops with local souvenirs either) and harbour area and admiring all the "Abramovich-style" yachts moored up whilst walking off our evening meal. However, the Villa Anna is a twenty-five minute walk from the hotel to the centre, flat ground youâll be pleased to here. We did it almost every night so it wasn't too horrendous but I wouldnât advise doing it in high heels as itâs dimly lit and the paths are uneven. That said, cabs are always available in the town and itâs about â¬5 from the resort to the Hotel.
All in all Samos is laid back and classy and in order to see the island and its beautiful beaches properly you need to hire a car or moped. Villa Anna studios are not out of character for the island and you will love them if you want to be able to kick back and enjoy super-hot quiet relaxing days followed by sultry quiet evenings. Personally, we would choose another hotel if we ever went back to Pythagoria â somewhere larger with a little more going on in the evenings or much closer to the centre of the resort. Just one last thing: make your own boat bookings and trip to see the ancient city of Ephesus in Turkey. Its well worth a visit and you can get cabs from the centre of Kusadasi (look for the sign that says Taxis to Ephesus) up to the ancient ruins for a negotiable price and you will have much longer to look around rather than being rushed through by a guided tour. The Thomson Tour we booked rushed us through so they could take us to a very expensive Leather factory on the way back! We were not impressed with this.
