One of the best
"We have just returned from a two week stay at the Zante Star and having been to Tsilivi four times now and I have to say that this is the best property we have stayed in. Previously we have stayed at the Petros, Sunrise and an apartment that has long since closed. We had two rooms 132 and 130 and the standard of both was excellent, the cleaners did a great job during our stay. The rooms are well equipped for self-catering, not that we did any cooking; towels and bed linen are of good quality and get changed often. All the staff make you most welcome and we would like to thank Erini, Helen, Toula and Anna for looking after us during our stay, nothing appears to be too much trouble for them. We spent most of our days around the pool and had lunch at the hotel most days, the food is of a high standard, good value for money and service is excellent. We prefer to go out of an evening to try different restaurants and to give to the local economy rather than to the large holiday companies who run the All Inclusive resorts. We are all aware that the Greek people are going through hard times and I think visitors to the country should all play their part in helping them out visiting the local bars and restaurants, in the years we have visited Tsilivi you can see the effect AI is having. The hotel is a short walk away from the bars and restaurants which I have to say is a good thing as it does not have any problems with noise and the views are great. I would love to go back to the Zante Star and would recommend it to anyone. It is on an elevated position, but if you can walk up the stairs to get on an aeroplane then you should have no problems here. We ate in a number of places and would recommend the follow as both good value and great food, Premiere which is not too far from the Zante Star, turn right when you leave the hotel, they do a great homemade starter of potato and aubergine. The Grill which is also not far from the Zante Star, just turn left as you leave the hotel, if you are really hungry try the meat platter, I bet you will struggle to eat it all. Benikos is good value and has a wide menu to choose from and they make you most welcome, try the house wine. The best and most traditional restaurant is Dennisâs which is out past Sandraâs bar on the outskirts of Tsilivi. The food served there is by far the best in the area and his village wine is first class, no visit to the area is complete without at least one visit here. Make the effort to try Denisâs and I guarantee that you will be glad you did. Sandraâs bar is really good for a drink and is by the bus stop, both Sandra and Costas will make you welcome and have all the local knowledge you need. They also only use genuine named beers and spirits which cannot be said for all the bars in Tsivili. A restaurant a little further away in Zante Town is Seafood Flavours on the sea front in the main town. The 14.50 euro meze menu takes some beating and includes free wine. Look out for the Sandra Bullock look alike and make sure you take a camera, she may just serve you. "

Another fantastic Zante Star Holiday
"Just returned from our 2 week stay at the Zante Star for the second year running, didn t think last year could be any better but WOW! All the staff are so friendly and really make you welcome in thier home, the hotel is so clean and miad service is regular. We cannot believe it is only rated as 3* it does really feel like 5*. It is mainly families with children s ages varying from 4 to 17 so they have someone to mix with whatever age. The hotel is situated approx 10 min walk to both beach and centre. "

"Having just been to the Zante star with my partner and my daughter 13 and her friend 12 I would definately recommend this place. The location was great for the beach and for going into Tsilivi. The apartments are clean and the staff are very friendly and their little dog micki is so cute. The food at the apartments was also very nice and not to dear. I would definately go back to the Zante Star again."

The best holiday for ages
"Just returned 30th May 2010 after 2 weeks here at the Zante star. The first weeks weather wasnt brilliant but the second was very good. We were welcomed by the staff with a free drink at the bar. Room was a bit smaller than expected but the cleanist ever stayed in and had pool veiw. During the 2 week stay had an excellent holiday, staff were very friendly and Irena at the bar was such a lovely girl. Food was excelent and good value for money. Tsilivi town was only a short walk away where there are very good bars and restaurants, we recomend Trenta Nova, ate here 3 times, Had great next door neighbours Tony and Odelle. We would definately stay here again which is something we have never done, we like to try different locations and have never been to the same place twice but are planning to return to Zante Star again. 10 out of 10"

a brilliant hotel
"I have just returned from the Zante Star, I stayed for 2 weeks and travelled with my sister. The Apartments were excellent, they were cleaned daily and all the staff were extremely friendly. We were only self catering but the rooms were of a good size and clean. We had a great balcony with great neighbours and a lovely view of the olive groves. The food in the restaurant was very good and there was a great happy hour from 7pm-9pm. The weather wasn't great some days but we can't control that! We just had to laugh and enjoy the holiday. We would definitely recommend this hotel"

"my boyfriend and i have just returned from the zante star an cannot wait to return, the staff are just so friendly and helpful, the self catering appartments are kitted out very well for your basic needs right down to salt & pepper to a cheese grater. Our appartment was cleaned etc every day, towels changed and beds made ( you will need tea towel, dish cloth an wash liquid etc an other stuff you desire food wise) I think that because its only 34 rooms you tend to be more like a big family and talk to most if not all the people without being in one anothers pockets, we hired a scooter an saw alot of the island although not all as we were only there a week,i dont think any one weather single, couples or families would be dissapointed with this hotel.hope this helps Glen & Tracey x "

"I can endorse the comments below. We did not have the best weather for our week in October but being at the Zante Star we still had a great time. Friendly staff, great service and it has to be the cleanest hotel in Europe never mind just Greece. Yannis makes sure everything runs smooth and is great company too! Pool area is fabulous great views, plenty of sunbeds. If you want a small and friendly set up just outside town and 10 mins from the beach you wont go wrong here. Holidays are what you make of them and if you are based here thats a great start! Try the Olive Tree restaurant and take the bus to Zante town(bus stop opp Popeyes) Cheers everyone at the Zante Star see you again soon I hope. "

"Having just returned from 2 weeks at the Zante Star, I have to say that this is the most efficient, cleanest and friendly accomodation we have experienced in our years of holidaying in the islands. The staff are ALL pleasant, friendly and helpful and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. Bar and food prices are generally in keeping with what is available in the town, and the quality of the food when we ate in was very good. Tsilivi itself has obviously grown up around tourism with the usual run of shops and eating houses all keen to lure you in, but a pleasant enough little town to spend time. It's biggest asset is naturally the fabulous beech gently sloping into a clear blue sea."
