"My boyfriend and I stayed at the Zante Maris last June and we couldn't have been happier!

The hotel is very clean and well presented - and staff very helpful. Rooms were pretty basic but immaculate. Decent size, nice bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space, TV and good room service. I would reccommend you request a sea-view as our room looked out onto another hotel front - However if you're like us and spend 99% of your holiday out and about this shouldn't bother you much at all. We stayed B&B so I can't comment on the dinner but the breakfast was impressive. Plenty of hot & cold dishes to choose from - something for everyone.

You couldn't get a hotel closer to the beach if you tried - Lovely golden sands just inches away with plenty of sunbeds, restuarants, watersports and a beautiful view of Kefalonia in the horizon.

They have indoor facilities too - after a day in the sun my boyfriend would use the gym and I would have a swin in the swimming pool. Lovely.

Doing some of the excursions is a MUST. Zante is truly beautiful - I reccommend the shipwreck outing. Fantastic! Avoid booking through First Choice as they travel to the shipwreck on a big boat which takes a while to get there - the guys in Tsilivi centre use little boats which get you there in half the time - and they give you more time to relax and explore!!

If you're planning on eating out Tsilivi, Popeyes is the place to be. GREAT food at even GREATER prices. Cocktails were Fab too!

Overall Tslivi is a lovely resort - not too busy yet not too quiet - suitable for everybody and the Zante Maris Hotel is definate good choice."

"We stayed at this hotel for a week on Bed, breakfast and dinner. We got a really good deal - all this for £320 each. The hotel is right on the beach and also has an indoor and outdoor pool. It also offers beauty treatments - i had a 1 hour full body massage for 20Euros, bargain. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the hotel rooms are very clean and spacious. Tsvilli is just a small resort and we ventured out on a few occasions for a meal, always in popeyes which was also great. we also went to zante town once which cost 8euros each way in a taxi. we went on a boat trip to see the ship wreck which i dont recommend as its not worth the long trip in an overcrowded boat."

"We stayed at the Zante Maris on the 26th September 2006 for 2 weeks. The hotel is in a brilliant position just on the beach and a short walk from bars and restaurants. We got married during our stay and the hotel made the whole experience special.

Any supplement for a sea front room is well worth it as you can see both Kefalonia and the mainland from the room and the sunsets are amazing!

The pool was a bit cold but quickly warmed up in the sunshine which was plenty warm enough in Sept/Oct. The indoor pool is small but lovely and warm and relaxing.

The food is good and breakfast has a good choice. The room service is great value and great for when you arrive late on the first night.

All in all we had a brilliant time and would strongly recommend the hotel to others. We had a lot of family come out for the wedding and our hotel was the nicest by far."

"We stayed here from the 24/10-31/10 the last day before the island shuts down. The hotel is great and even at this time of the year we had a fab time.

Will be returning again next year, can highly recommend Mambo's bar not far from the hotel with Paris as your barman he makes great cocktails and the best B52 ever.

To eat there is only one restuarant I can really recommend and that is sweet revenge, home cooked meals with two great owners who will make your stay memorable.

All over the island the food and drink is good, the more well known ones are a little more highly priced, but still worth a visit.

All I will say is do not go at the end of the season, the week before would be fine, but don't go the week we did. Everything shuts and I mean everything, even the hotel. Our last day, we were the last flight home and the hotel didn't even open the bar during the day.

All in all a fantastic holiday and as above we will return.

HAVE A FAB TIME."

"We stayed at the Zante Maris for the last week of the season, as of today the hotel is completly shut. We arrived at 6 am after setting off from Newcastle at 11pm, only to be told we were not on the list of arrivals at all. We did not have a warm welcome at all we were told to sit in the lounge, the night porter seemed to make no attempt to help us. At 7am he told us breakfast was open. There was only tea/ coffee and toast - this is for people who are going on trips and have an early start - which was useful on days. We finally got a room 45 mins later - it was dirty they had obviously just made the beds up so we could sleep the bathroom was disgusting - but we appreciated a bed to put our heads down on. At 10 30am i went to the morning welcome meeting and was told our room was ready and they appologised for the inconveniance. The room wasn't ready and we had to wait a further 45mins to get into it. This room was lovely very clean with the best veiw of the pool and beach. After that everything was wonderful, though as a nut allergy sufferer the menu choice was limiting. The staff and cabaret acts were great we couldn't faut them. Kefalonia was amazing though its not as commercialised as Zante. We would go back here though as it is a lovely place though we would probably come in June or September as everything was shutting down. Mr Christoph the Hotel owner was there to wish us all a safe journey home at 3am when we left which was a lovely touch. The reps are the every day near enough and are so nice and helpful. Be prepared to leave heartbroken as there are lots of stray cats and dogs and it costs over £1000 to bring one home! Watch out in Zante Airport as the steps to duty free are very slippy and the staff in the airport are rubbish and dont help you. If you injure yourself dont tel the airport staff or they try to take you to hospital and you have a fight on your hands to get home."

"Me & my partner stayed at the Zante Maris Hotel on 3rd Oct 2006 for 2 weeks B&B.
What a fantastic holiday! We have decided to go back!
When we arrived at the hotel everyone were so polite & friendly, really give you a great welcome. The rooms were the cleanest ones ever! We had slippers, sewing kit, dressing gowns & a bottle of water all set for our stay which i thought was brilliant! Not many hotels do that do they? Be warned the pool is more colder than the sea! But the indoor pool & jacuzzi is lovely however the jacuzzi is only on for a few hours a day.
We went to the waterpark when we were there, we were really disappointed as there were 6 slides and it was expensive for what you get, we ended up leaving in a taxi after half an hour. However, we did go on a cruise around the island, that was 15euros each, that was amazing! The shipwreck is out of this world, the sea and sand is gorgeous! you'd think you were in caribbean! Dont book trips through your reps there alot cheaper if you go out of the hotel & see companies advertising trips, book through them, some are English and you dont get ripped off!! Recommend 2Brothers Bar, we were in there every night, they are really nice people and give you the best cocktails ever!! They do tend to play tricks on you and have you going back to your hotel in stitches! The Nemesis is the nicest restaurant ever make sure you go there!! The barmen in the hotel are great!! They really made us night once we'd been out and came back for a "last" drink they were amusing! Well as you can tell we do recommend this hotel, was told by the manager in the hotel that the best month to go in is June, September you tend to get alot of rain then it gets warmer at the beginning of Oct, we had more sun in the first week than the second but it was still warm.
Well hope you enjoy this holiday as much as we did!! :-)"

"We stayed at the Zante Maris Hotel for two weeks from 3rd October 2006. The Hotel itself is excellent, the staff are really efficient and friendly. Our room was well equipped and spotless the towels and sheets were changed every day, not three times a week as shown on brochure. There were nice touches like a bottle of water in your fridge, bathrobes and slippers and free towels to use around the pool. We stayed half board and although the food was edible it was repetitive and unimaginative and got a bit boring by the second week and so we ate out most evenings. Also the service in the restaurant does not reflect the hotel's four star rating. One evening there were no tables ready and we had to eat our evening meal with the previous occupants' dirty dishes and soiled napkins still in on the table - this was not acceptable! Would recommend anyone going there to just stay bed and breakfast as there are so many lovely restaurants in Tsilivi and you can eat out with wine for under £20 for two people."

"We had two weeks on a bed and breakfast basis from Sept 24th to Oct 8th 2006, and have already booked for next year! We loved both the hotel and the stunning beach front location. We have nothing but praise for the hotel- spotlessly clean, well -run and yet very relaxed. It is in high demand, so perhaps I should write something bad, in order to deter others!!
The room we had looked out over the 25 meter pool, was spacious, with a big comfortable bed and a well equipped bathroom with plenty of hot water.
The balcony had double glazed doors which was handy when occasionally there was late noise from entertainment going on in the restaurant which overlooks the pool.
Breakfasts were excellent- almost everything you can imagine as well as the traditional "English".
Beach- gorgeous, sandy, safe and gently shelving with shallow warm seas.
Best Beach Bar: "Miami" to left of hotel. Huge snacks!! You just gotta try it!
Best tavernas: (on or near the beach road in centre of Tsilivi)Benikos, Tsilivino(very cheap, nice family), Majestic, Athena. Also liked Magdalena Bar which does food & Karaoke!! Best tavernas up the hill past Popeyes- Manos Grill, Asian Feast, also Deano's Bar for entertainment. The Ark Bar is fun but not so good for food."

"Started our holiday on 4th September and was in room 213. Cannot fault the hotel at all, staff were lovely, hotel very clean and rooms cleaned daily. I went with my partner and 3 year old son and all the staff doted on him and even bought him presents. Spent most of our time on the beach as the beds around the pool were usually reserved by 7am (even though there were notices in the hotel advising not to) beach beds were about 3 euros per bed. went to the hotel beach bar for snacks during the day as food wa pretty good. Say hello to Takos, he does a 12 hour shift at hotel 7 days a week, very nice guy and always had a joke. Tsilivi centre was full of bars an souvenier shops. Hired a car for 3 days and travelled around the island (watch out for those cliff roads, really scary). Only down side to the holiday was the airport, we had a 6am flight and had to wait outside the airport in a queue, once in no seats, absolutely packed. Not very good when your have a very tired 3 year old"

"We stayed at the zante maris just at the beginning of the world cup, unfortunatly we did not take advantage of the facilities, as we went out every night. We were on bed and breakfat which was exellent. The room was very nice but we did have a carpet which had a very dirty mark, every day we told the rep but after a week it still didn't get cleaned. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is disabled as its very level and good lifts. We didn't go round the pool as we don't get up very early and we like the beach. Small discount for hotel guests on the beach beds.Over all a good holiday and nice plce to stay.
