Had the best laugh ever
"Arrived on the first week of opening for 2013 along with 8 other people. We found the best company ever. Apartments were cleaned daily by two very nice ladies. Family are wonderful and huge thanks to Cornelious even after working all day in his full time job he entertained us all evening. Love you Corny? To Evie? Letta? and Papa thank you for a fantastic week Thank you to the cook who made a great breakfast. Where do you get your sausage from? Thanks to Elvis for his patience when trying to learn a little Greek. But a big thanks to Bridgette and Alan Mary and John Jerry and Mel and Kelly for the best company ever. It will be a long time till we meet company like you again. Keep in touch and may we all meet again.
The only down side I have is the walk into town and the very small shower.
Love you all loads Marion and Graham xxxxxx"

Great hotel, very friendly people.Couldn't fault it at all.
"We stayed at Yakinthos from the 11th of September to the 18th of September and enjoyed every minute!
As all the reviews have mentioned, the hotel is spotless and the family that runs the hotel do what they can to make your holiday as pleasant as possible and is very friendly from the moment you arrive.
Rooms are clean and spacious with safe and aircon for a few extra euros, well worth it.
Pool area is fab and the bar by the pool has a great selection of drinks and snacks in big portions!
The greek night is a great fun too, really entertaining,as was the quiz night and are not to be missed!
The hotel's quiet location is a bonus for those who use their hols to catch up on sleep.
Overall a fab holiday!
We would recommend the hotel to anyone and would stay there again without hesitation! The best place in Zante!!!"

a beautiful place with very friendly staff
"From the minute we arrived at the hotel we were made to feel welcome by Coola and her family.
The hotel itself is very well kept, the ground and the pool are clean and well maintained.
The rooms are immaculately clean on arrival and are also cleaned everyday.
The pool bar is well run, serving food all day and all night long till they close down(excellent quality in good price) and generally, the family goes that extra mile to make your holiday special.
This is a fantastic hotel and i highly recommend staying here!
Don't forget to attend their bbq!it was one of our best nights in Zante!
A big thank you to yakinthos family!hope to see you all again...

Nice apartments but poor location
Overall it was the apartments themselves that saved the holiday for us. It's a double edge sword, they are nice but set in the middle of no-where and on a nosiy busy main road....but rather that then be in the middle of Laganas which is a dump and geared up for young lads (think The In-betweeners film!). We were a group of 4 - age ranged from early 20's to late 40's to give you an idea of our circumstances.
They are clean and well equipped for greek standards. Don't expect matching cultery/crockery etc but at least you get the basics for making small meals. The breakages amount are scary! But I understand they get a lot of very young groups in the height of summer - so it's really aimed at the 18-30's types.
Your room will be given a basic quick clean everyday, but you need to make it clear if you want fresh towels and sheets as they wont be replaced otherwise. We paid for a safety deposit box at 10 euro for the week. The family that run the apartments are friendly and get to know their guests on first name terms. Air conditioning available but its pricey at 80 euro for the week for 2 bed apartment. We opted not to have the air con - we left the windows open we were first floor plus there's a night watchman on the complex.
All rooms over look the swimming pool - but that also means they over look the very busy and noisy main road into Laganas. Its set directly on the road, so the road noise is non stop day and night. It's a real shame.
It has a small snack bar which is priced accordingly for the quality of the food. Its really only geared up for basic day time snacks. The cocktails are nice and good value at 2.50 euros. The barman starts at 5pm, Elvis, he either likes you or he doesnt! If he likes you, then he's good fun and you get freebies....if not expect the cold shoulder.
The pool is well maintained and quite deep so it's possible to dive in etc. Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas at the pool.
There is enterainment at the complex a couple of nights a week, karaoke etc. We found it quitened right down after 1am.
Set well outside Laganas on the main road. A couple of decent eating places close by, but everything else is closed down and falling apart - like a ghost town. Recommend Manteio and Paradise for food - both about a 5 min walk. Priced at about 7 to 11 euros for a main course. You'll pay more in the main strip and the food is frozen rubbish. Stick to the smaller quieter places on the outskirts or go to Kalamaki. (10 euro in taxi)
We tried to walk into Laganas a couple of times but there's hardly any pavement and what pavement there is a dangerous with manholes with no covers etc. The traffic is very fast (lots of teenage boys on scooters etc) and it's not lit - an absolute no no after dark. It's a 20 mins walk but in 30degrees heat is a real killer. We had to use taxi's everyday to find nice places to eat, go to the main strip/supermarkets or visit Kalamaki (neighbouring resort) and must of spent an extra 90 euro at least - so best budget that in.
The main strip in Laganas is an 18-30's resort and looks like blackpool but more scruffy, it's not quaint greek style at all. The food is targeted at the british and everything comes with chips - even the so called traditional tavarnas serve their local food with chips. The beach is flithy, tiny and overcrowded and full of touts trying to get you to pay for a sunbed. Ww walked on, and straight walked off - never went back to the beach.
Overall if you dont mind staying by the pool all day and the family that runs the apartments like you - then it could be the place for you. Relaxed and fun. If you want things to do within walking distance, then go somewere else - or take endless taxis to Kalamaki for better food, beach and nightlife.
P.S The Olympic excursions are quite good and priced well"

"We just got back from a memorable week in Laganas. The Yakinthos exceeded all expectations. It is family run and very friendly. Elvis the barman is a laugh. The rooms are spotless. We had a two bed apartment, which has a two ring cooker with a small oven. They serve food at the bar and there are some good restaurants about 15 minutes walk away. The Agrila supermarket next door is also very friendly, although the Dia further into town has a better range."

Amazing, would definitely go back!
"We recently stayed at Yakinthos Apartments for a week at the end of june. There was a group of 18 of us and the family that run the hotel were so nice to us and did everything they could to make sure we had an amazing week. Even though there was a lot of us away together and we were quite loud they didn't mind. We had 3 four person rooms and 3 two people studios. The rooms were very nice and were a good size and were cleaned properly every day. The pool was also really nice any most days we ate at the bar right next to the pool. The food they served was also really good and cheap and even though the hotel was just run by a family and there beings lots of us the food always came fairly quickly. It was about a 5 minute drive to the strip from the apartments but there is a taxi rank right next to the hotel so it was very easy to get there and would always cost about 6 euros. I would definitely come back to these apartments and stay again, we all miss the family already!"

"We were the last people to be dropped off by the coach from the airport, but looking at the other hotels which were in the area; Yakinthos Hotel Apartments was by far the best. The staff that work at the hotel are friendly and treat you very well. Food prices are cheap and a variety of drinks are on offer by a quality barman- Angelos! However the night watchman is fairly strict so stay in his good books (spend a bit of time to get to know him and he is sound!).
The clubs and bars on the strip offer good deals on drinks, but if you're are a bit of a tight **** then you can reference other bars offering better prices, to which they will give you a better deal. The night clubs are fairly small, but the atmosphere is class!!
Guranteed to have a memorable time if young and in groups. "

"we stayed here from the 2nd june till the 16th june. having 2 rooms between us for the 5 of us in our party. me and the hubby stayed in a 2 bedded studio while our son and daughter and his fiancee stayed in a 2 roomed apartment upstairs. the maids cleaned everyday, and made beds mopped etc which due to olympic standards are only contracted to do 3 times a week, but the owners make sure they are cleaned everyday. the maids also clean the pool areas and even do some gardening. the pool is of a good depth in the deep end, and is very clean and has a larger than normal area for the young children to play in. the owners of the yakinthos or very polite and always have smiling faces. the food from the pool bar are of high standard with a full english brekkie costing 4 euros. if you have special diets they will do anything to help you with these. there is an english cook who cooks 99% of the meals. the rest done by the owners wife. there is also a funny barman who starts work at 5pm who likes to call himself elvis. the barbaque nights on tuesday are a must at only 10 euros a person include a variety of foods and fishbowls and shots. evi and letta are the owners daughters and constantly smile and will help with anything. after being to laganas 11 times this hotel-apartments stands out at being the best kept and cleanest we have stayed in and we will deffo be coming back here in the future. the walk fro the main strip is approx 20 -30 mins depending on how fit you are, but there are regular buses down costing 1.60 euros and there is a taxi rank next door costing anywhere in laganas for the set price of 6 euros. there is a supermarket next door, selling a wide range of items. there fresh breadcakes are fantastic costing 0.40 euros each. hope to see you all again soon at the yakinthos denise and craig and family "

the holiday with a smile
"we stayed here in may 2011, we had a fantastic week, the family is so friendly they cant do enough for you. the food is good and reasonable. we stayed in a two bed apartment, which was clean and spacious, overlooking the pool.we are a mature couple, and it suited us perfecly, but i would not go to this resort in the height of summer as it is an 18/30 resort. i have visited in may and sept. and it's great. we cant wait to return. i would like to say a big thankyou to letta, effi parents and elves for making it a great holiday."

"Me and my best friends, stayed at yakinthos during last october, for 7 days.
The location that the hotel is situated is 20 minutes (on foot) from the main clubs or 2 minutes by taxi that charges you only 6 euros(so it's better to choose the taxi,if you are not very athletic type)..
Concerning the hotel,it is really a wonderful place to stay! The building and the maintenance are in very good condition and fresh painted. The most important of all is that the maids visit the rooms daily and the whole hotel remains clear and tidy! Moreover, the owners are very friendly people and care about everyone.Whatever you need,go and ask them and they will do anything to help you!Very lovely staff too that smiles all the time and gives it's best to make you feel welcome and cheer you up!Their hospitality is something that we will always remember and still feel grateful for..
Absolutely the perfect place if you want to be in Laganas and at the same time to stay away from the noise. "

"I havn't got a bad word to say about the yakinthos apartments. Im not quite sure what people expect for a 3 star hotel!
Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a week at the yakinthos apartments and couldnt have wished for a better time, we are aged 18 & 20 and felt that everyone both staff and guests were so friendly within this hotel and we got on with everyone despite the large age gaps between us and the other guests :)
The rooms were very clean and maids came in every day and not only changed the bedding and towels but fully cleaned the room, the floor was mopped everyday. Even when we left dirty pots in the sink the maids would clean them unexpectedly.
The pool area was just as clean, the pool was quite large which was a big bonus in our eyes!
The strip is about a 20 minute walk but we didnt mind that the only time we used taxis was often after a night out to save walking back up, taxi to the strip from yakinthos is only 6 euros.
We closed the season for yakinthos 2010 we were the only ones to leave on 10th october 2010 so the day we were leaving they let us keep our room on free of charge when usually it would be 20 euros, throughout the day they gave us free drinks and also extra eggs on our breakfasts haha. When waiting for the coach to arrive to take us to the airport we started to panic as it was 50 minutes late picking us up so the family that owned the hotel phoned olympic for us and also offered to take us to the airport if the coach didnt arrive. Angelo the bar man was as daft as us and this is probably why we got on with him to well "medicene time" he would say as he came round with the free shots :) and he would also say "sambuca makes you happy" "mythos makes you happy" haha LEGEND!
Everyone who is reading this and is undecided on wheather to go the yakinthos apartments or not should deffinatly GO! If you go and see angelo the bar man with a flat cap on thats my boyfriends!
Had a fantastic holiday and will be returning october 2011 with many of our friends for my boyfriends 21st!
Thankyou yakinthos for a fantastic holiday :)

A bit far out
"I agree with Janeaway about the towels, they realy do need replacing. Apart from that the studio was spacious and clean we even has a shower curtain. A toaster would be nice and if anyone is intending to cook then there is only 1 ring so something you can cook in one pot but who wants to cook when there are so may places to eat and greek food is so lovely. Kula and her family are very friendly and Angelos behind the bar is brilliant. It is about a half hour walk to the beach and about 20 minutes to the beginning of the Laganas Strip but do not walk this road at night as i think they are replacing the pavements and there are quite alot of raised manholes and a few that have been taken out and are now just a big hole, also no road lights so you would not see where you are going and are likely to fall and break something. We met alot of lovely people of all ages and the bbq night is brill but greek dancing is provided by Angelo with the help of the guests but a good laugh. We are a couple of 51 and 53 and we enjoyed ourselves at the Yakinthos but i think if i was going to Laganas again i would stay somewhere else as a bit to far out for us. The weather though was fantastic 30 degrees at 9.am on our walk to the beach. "
