"The complex itself is very nice - bright and colorful with a lovely pool. We have visited Kefalonia 9 times in the last 10 years and have loved everywhere we have stayed until now.
what really matters is the room you are staying in. Have you ever heard of a closed balcony? no neither had we but we discovered it was very much like a prison cell. No view and felt like a sweat box! it really spoils our holiday as we really enjoy a proper balcony with fresh air etc... Also, this was such a tiny area it felt claustrophobic and was the only place we could eat. When we complained we were offered a most unsuitable alternative. Not at all helpful. We will return to Skala but never to Marietta."

"Very clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony for the evenings. Only thing to complain about is that the lovely pool was closed way to early in the evening, it looked so inviting late evening to have a hours swim. The whole of Skala was beautiful and the locals very friendly. Shop owners were very helpful, friendly and polite. Restaurants were well maintained and the food was lovely. Sunbird Bike Hire was really helpful, in fact the gentleman who runs it was very friendly and made our holiday complete, made us feel really comfortable and even when one of our scooters broke down we were dealt with in a very professional way and a replacement bike was with us within the half hour. We can honestly say that Sunbird car and bike rental are second to none, friendly and very efficient and we will use them again. The Bakers in the high street run by NIkos( you can't miss it, there is a painting of NIkos on the board outside his shop) is the best Bakery in Skala, for the two weeks we wherein Skala we bought cakes to take back to the hotel, best cakes we have ever had to eat and the regular evening chats we had with him made it a remarkable and special holiday. Anyone reading this please take note, try his cakes, you will not be disappointed. We vent everywhere on our scooters, up the mountains, around the whole island, such a very beautiful place, enjoyed it so much that my wife and I are going back for a week early September this year. A beautiful place with beautiful people, thank-you Skala for making our first holiday abroad a holiday to remember, we have 1600 photos to relive it again and again, one last thing, a big thankyou to Thomas Cook Holidays and a very pleasant fight. See you again in September. John and Chrissie from Kent UK

BEST PLACE IN THE SUN
"We stayed in Marietta village,Skala,Kefalonia for two weeks in September, our second visit .Obviously we liked it the first time hence our return it was as perfect as before. It is a very attractive place and spotlessly clean. The apartments are very comfortable with everything you need for self catering. The staff are pleasant and cheerful and very approachable if you need anything. We had beautiful weather all of the time which helps but we found the other holidaymakers were as relaxed and happy as we were.It is well placed for both the main road and the beach both within five to ten minute walk.Skala is a lovely with lots of great tavernas and restaurants nice little bars supermarkets and bakeries. We love it so much we have already booked for next year. Good for 3 stars
"Clean appartments, a nice pool and lovely bar staff. The drains are a bit smelly and the rooms basic, but for 3 star in Greece it is great."

Great place and good location
"Lovely Apartment. Very spacious and clean. Small balcony but we didnt travel to Kefalonia to spend all day in the apartment. Good location, 5 min walk into the resort of Skala. Quiet room, towels changed & bins emptied daily. Bed linen changed every two days. Friendly staff. Nice pool but spent most of our time on the beach. Would recommend!!
Car hire a must to see such a beautiful island. Recommend the trip to Ithaca!!
Visit Sami and find out all about the making of Captain Corellis Mandolin

A great choice
"We stayed at the Marietta in May and it was brilliant. The rooms were basic but clean and maids kept it clean and tidy everyday. The only negative thing was the smell of the drains in the bathroom.
The staff were friendly and the receptionist went out of her way to sort us a taxi to take us to town on a couple of wet evenings.
The pool was always clean, lots of beds, bar food really good as was the breakfast.
Every day staff were cleaning and tidying the hotel grounds, every morning the pool area was cleaned even the railings were wiped down! Just could not fault our stay, would recommend to others we would and return again.

"Me and my boyfriend have just returned from Marietta Studios and had a brill time. The rooms were basic but clean. The cleaners changed the bins every day and we had fresh towels every 3 days. The pool area was clean and tidy. The barman was abit mardy. One night it was about 12.30am we was told to be quite. The rep said the bar closes when the last standing man leaves the barman switched the lights of at 1.30am i take it that was our time to leave. In Skala there are plenty of places to eat. Siroco was the best place. The food is lovely and Andras was funny. Veto bar is a nice place to drink and relax they also put all the football matches on as the barman at Marietta wouldnt. Sally's bar is good aswell for the cocktails. We did the glass bottom boat which was really good. We had a barbecue once we got to Xi beach and drank wine. We also covered ourselfs in clay mud which apparently takes 10 years of you lol. Really good excurison. I would visit Marietta Studios again. "
