"What a pleasant stay! Owners treat you like family & will do anything to help make your stay perfect. Welcome drinks on the house, waving goodbye as you leave & gave us a gift of 2 mugs with picture of Kefalonia on. What a nice touch.
Bedrooms are decent enough, bathroom bit basic, but think this is the norm for Greek accommodation. Can't flush toilet paper, have to put it in a bin which was new to us & a bit weird! Air con, fan & balcony doors helped keep the room cool.
Enjoyed using the tennis courts & pool, which wasn't too busy considering it was high season. Bar man very friendly & would talk away to you while you're drinking.
Sami a short walk along the beach which we did several evenings for dinner. But we actually enjoyed the two meals we had in local village more than Sami.
A car is essential to see the rest of the Island. Myrtos beach is so beautiful. Mellisani Lake is worth seeing. Overall would say the hotel itself isn't anything amazing, but the owners really do make it. And if we did ever go back, then we'd definitely stay here again."

What a wonderful experience!
"I stayed at the wonderful Sami Beach hotel with my 2 kids and husband, the comfort and service exceeded our expectations. As soon as we came in we were treated not as hotel guest,s but like we were family. We were immediatly greeted and unloaded of our baggage. The staff gave us an orientation of the island as well as drinks on the house. This is a family run hotel, that made us feel Very welcome throughout or stay. The kids had fun in the pool, we had fun just relaxing. There is a bar by the pool and toys for the kids. Our room was very clean and practical. This island is very beatiful, Myrtos beach was most spectacular Ive ever seen and the ride is very scenic. I would advise having a car to see all the sites of the island. We would definitely come back to this hotel for the wonderful service and comfort."

Perfect Family Run Hotel
"I went to Sami Beach Hotel with 2 people who had been there before. As mentioned in previous reviews it is a very friendly family run hotel, and most of the guests have been there at least once which I think speaks volumes. Arrivals are welcomed by the owners with an Ouzo, and the family also wave goodbye to everyone as they leave. They also arrange taxis to and from the airport. Nothing is too much trouble.
We had a room with a sea view and a small balcony which was just perfect. The room had a double bed (not 2 beds pushed together!); air conditioning; a small fridge; hairdryer; TV with English news channels; even a radio in the headboard.
The room opposite reception had a large book library; internet access for a small fee; numerous things to borrow â umbrellas, games, snorkelling & fishing equipmentâ¦.
The pool & pool area was very clean, with plenty of sunbeds & umbrellas. There are also tennis courts & table tennis. The outside bar was always manned, and during the day drinks were delivered to your sunbed! The bar shuts promptly at midnight. The hotel offers a continental breakfast, and a very limited lunch menu.
The hotel is just outside Sami â a walk along the beach or a short taxi ride. Sami has numerous bars & restaurants but there are a few restaurants in the village which also has a small supermarket.
We had a fabulous day on a boat trip from Sami which sailed around, and stopped at, Ithica.
I went to Kefallinia about 10 years ago and I was pleasantly surprised that it has not been over developed."

"We had a wonderful week at the Sami Beach and it was as good as all the previous reviews state. The owners could not be more welcoming and helpful, the hotel is spotlessly clean with a great pool.
Kefalonia is a lovely island with lots ot little towns / villages to visit. We did lots of walking and would recommend the guide 'kefalonia Walk and Eat'
Lots of good restaurants in Sami - the Mermaid and Faros are probably the best.
All in all a great holiday."

Just keep on going back.
"We are going back to Sami Beach in May, this will be our fourth visit. It is a splendid hotel with splendid people who treat you with splendour. We love the whole family and they treat you like one of their own. Nothing is too much trouble . Simple, clean, a pretty situation and just one big chill out.
We go here as a second holiday and probably will continue to do so forever.....................

"just come back again from athena beach hotel , was very hot, lots of new building in sami, but they have not spoilt it, mikas hotel owner has got married since last year what achange to the hotel . it was good before but now ,well clean towels every day clean sheets every 2 days, hair dryers work first time and plugs in sinks, the womans touch flowers in rooms towels made as swans, same old mikas mad as a hatter but who would want to change him, go up to the hills for dinner prices a lot lower than sami, also its like greece was 20 years ago , the family works it and taverns full of locals ,we found prices in kefalonia this year have gone up quite a lot so shop a round, the best thing about where athena beach is that at night time it becomes very quite , all you hear is the sea,"

Perfectly friendly and relaxing
"Istayed at the Sami Beach Hotel for two weeks last June. The location is beautiful, the salt water pool refreshing and the owners wonderful. It is a family owned hotel with basic but spotless rooms and the friendliest staff and guests I have ever experienced. Every guest feels like one of the family. Most of the guests make their annual vacation to the Sami Beach, some as many as 15 years in a row. That is the highest compliment a hotel can have."
