"This place is awful! The rooms are sparce and dirty. We have never come across such an ignorant and arrogant man as the owner. In fact after two days we could not take any more and moved to another hotel and the abuse we received in front of the other guests as a result of this was unbelievable. In fact, both my husband and I were quite shaken up after it. Do not go here."

I have just returned from a relaxing wee...
"I have just returned from a relaxing week in St Georges, which as a resort I would recommend to all. It offers excellent beaches and fabulous tavernas offering traditional Greek Food. The Panorama and Miris Resaurants are not to be missed, the Queens offers excellent cocktails and La Iguana good entertainment. Kostas boat trips to Paxos and the blue lagoon and a Greek Night are a must.
However I would be very wary about booking the Star Studios again. It definitely lives up to its 2 star reputation and should not be booked by those wishing a true self catered holiday as the facilities do not support this. It was reasonably clean, however the maid did occasionally forget to come.
Star studios is situated on the main road into St Georges and is a 10-15min walk into the centre and a 25min walk to the beautiful beaches. The roads like most Greek roads offer little lighting and no pavements, which due to the sharp bends can be difficult to navigate at night, the elderly may find this trip difficult.
The facilities at the star studios are also basic with a small pool, however the owner does not charge for the sun loungers surrounding it, a kindness he likes to remind you of and is made up for in his inflated food and drink prices. Guests who choose not to patronise his bar for food and drink are viewed poorly and as a result may find him difficult (often rude and on occasion aggressive) if assistance required.
The studios are isolated and surrounded on all sides by vineyards and olive groves, which unfortunately means that wasps can be found in abundance making the consumption of anything sweet smelling very difficult. No entertainment was offered on site during our stay."

"This is the second time to Stars, we were not disappointed. Kostas and his family regard you as part of their family, very friendly place to be. The studios are cleaned each day, the pool area is clean and comfortable. We spent many days and nights sampling the excellent food on the menu, which is all grown organically on the premises - Mila (Kostas' wife) is an excellent cook. Night time entertainment has to be seen to be believed! Games, karaoke, pool, sky tv. You have to try it, brilliant."

"Great place to stay. We had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.
Nice and friendly people, fantastic Greek dishes, nice resort.
It's very lovely place for families and couples.
Also, it's very important to say that everything there was very clean and the cleaner used to visit us everyday. We haven't seen that anywhere else.
The service is outstanding and I can't find a reason not to go back there again.
Stars became our dream and we are happy to visit again our friends in July 2007.
We advise everyone to visit Stars."

sun,sea and stars
"My husband and i stayed at stars for 2 weeks in july 06. We found a little slice of paradise. Kosta and Mila made us feel very welcome. The apartments were clean and well looked after, the pool was great as was the home cooked food. Loved the Greek night and bingo, we hope to return very soon.
The resort is quiet and peaceful, with stunning beaches. Its ideal for hoilday makers needing some R & R.

Our second family home
"This is our 8th year of going to stars and we would not go anywhere else, as we feel part of the family (which we are).
The rooms are clean and tidy, food is excellent (as always).
Kosta and all the family are the best and make you feel at home and look after you.
We go twice a years June and September and we have just come back from our second break and are already looking into flights for next June.
We took friends with us this September and everyone commented how good everything was and they will also be going back next June.
Great work Kosta, keep it up."

Great place to stay!
"12th July - 17th July 2006. I had a great stay at Stars. I was travelling alone but was given a large apartment. A huge room with 3 beds/ kitchen area with fridge, cooker, pans, crockery & cutlery/ seperate shower room (lots of hot water. But a hand held shower - odd but you'll find this everywhere you stay except big hotels in Greece) / a large balcony with table & chairs. Leafy views as Stars is surrounded with olive groves. Ladies note - lots of hangers in the wardobe + plenty of mirrors with great light :-) No air conditioning but the rooms were so cool, breezy & airy it wasn't an issue despite 36+ degrees outside. (Again - you won't get air con in Greece, unless you book into a large expensive hotel. You can hire fans if required from recep - I didn't need to with the through breezes & shaded rooms.) The owners at Stars were great. Very friendly & there immediately if you want them. The security felt great (important for me as a woman travelling alone). Room cleanliness was excellent. They said they'd empty bins & clean every 2 days, but they actually did all the rooms every day, and changed the sheets too. The gardens & pool/ grounds were immaculate. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach/ sea front, which has a choice of sandy beaches in both directions, shops (inc car/ bicycle/ buggy/ motorbike hire) & good restaurants. The walk to the beach is an easy walk, but alongside a road with some passing traffic which wouldn't be great for small children. (If you're hiring a car that's irrelevant of course.) Local buses stop near Stars. The buses are modern, air conditioned & efficient. Must do's are to take a bus into Corfu city. (About an hour along the coast road - pretty views. c £1.70.) Note: Buses to/from Cavos also serve St George 7 days a week until late, so you don't need to just rely on St George buses.) A "must do" is to visit Corfu city's LISTON for lunch or dinner or just drinks & people watching any time. (See photo's.) Napoleon had the Liston built and it's a a truly stunning piece of architecture. Have lunch at the seats immediately left of the central Liston break when looking at the front - they've a real chef with some surprisingly sophisticated food there. Or watch the evening sun go down with a glass of wine, in the ancient fortress listening to music.Corfu city shopping includes many shops for shoe heaven / silks / leather / homewares / trendy clothes etc. (Lots of interesting cute alleyways full of unique little places.) There's masses of history all over the island inc the wonderful fortresses in Corfu city. And the villages & beaches are all different and take time to explore. There's plenty to see and do for sure on Corfu island. Agios St George is tucked away quietly, but there's all you need on hand; including access to the life & bustle elsewhere easily if you want it. Overall I was surprisingly impressed, and would definitely recommend this holiday location and place to stay. Grace Kirby."

Visit St George - just dont stay here!!!!
"We stayed at the Star Studios in September 2005.
I'm not sure where most of the other guests who have placed reviews stayed but it cant have been the same place as us!
The crockery & cutlery were dirty, the bed covers were like dog blankets & the rooms were not kept clean, my girlfriend didnt want to get in the shower as the plug hole was full of hair & the shower walls were filthy.
We were asked to fill out a questionaire about our stay & were encouraged to do so "honestly" by our tour rep.
The questionaires were then given to the hotel owner (Costas), he said that filling in the form as we did could "destroy his childrens lives" - my only answer to this is he should hire someone to clean the rooms!!!
But to be fair - St George South was a beautiful place, there is plenty for all ages to do, the food is beautiful & the people (except for Costas) are very friendly.
I would definatley recomend hiring a quad to get around the island - they are comfortable & fun."

Great place to chill out and go greek!
"As long as you don't plan to spend all day in your room you can relax and have a thoroughly enjoyable holiday at Stars.Greek accomodation tends to be on the basic side anyway and the rooms here provide bed, shower facilities, toilets with bins (just like nearly every other greek accomodation)and very basic cooking facilities(but hey, you have a snack bar open all day and night just beyond the pool, and you should definitly try the freshly prepared traditional greek dishes!)BUT, the bins are emptied regularly, the rooms are clean and it is run by a lovely family, which means it is a fab place to take your phrase book and learn the lingo.Adriana will appreciate that! I know very well as I was a courier representing the property for 5 years. In my experience the vast majority of guests who stayed there had a really good holiday and vowed to return. On arrival it may seem like you are in the middle of nowhere as it is situated out of the resort centre, but this is actually a big bonus as you will be able to sleep at night and it if you are planning to hire transport then you can explore the local beaches and villages with ease.Having repped many properties in Corfu I can say hand on heart, this is one of the better accomodations."

We Love Stars Hotel
"We had a great time once more.
It's a really nice place and very friendly family.
We couldn't ask for anything more.
The food is fantastic there, we have tried everything, lovely and clean rooms, nice swimming pool, nice gardens, very nice people.
The best holiday after a lot of years.
We will return back in May for 3 weeks .
Thanks to Kostas and his family."

"We have just returned from Stars studios where we had a fantastic holiday. Kostas and his family are very welcoming and will do anything for you to ensure your holiday is comfortable. We had many late nights at the bar and had a great laugh. The food is great as Mila is an excellent cook. We made lots of friends at the accomodation as it is a friendly place. Many people have returned year after year.
Good location, nice and quite and a short walk to the resort restaurants etc. Would return to Stars again in the future."

Heaven on Earth!
"We stayed only for a week last summer and fell in love with the place. Stars has everything, clean accommodation, lovely grounds and pool, excellent home cooked food and a well stocked, friendly and relaxing bar!
Just out of the main town, so peaceful, but only minutes walk (no hills!) from the town and beaches which are beautiful.
Kostas and family could not do enough for us, or any of the other guests with many a late night spent with what felt like family. We travelled with Golden Sun, who in our opinion were a very poor agent, hardly surprised when they went bust. Don't let it put you off travelling to this wonderful place. We return for more in a couple of weeks with friends and family in tow. I would never recommend a place to anyone until now for fear of them feeling let down if it didn't live up to expectation - no fear here!!"
