"30th year staying in Greece and worst apartments we have seen. Fabric condition very poor - cupboards hanging off the wall, mold on the ceiling, leaking air con units , unsecured balcony railings, dirty mattresses etc. Some guests seemed very happy and the owner was obviously has favorites perhaps they are given the better rooms? I complained sending photos for examples to Thomas Cook who says they are of a fit standard. Avoid this place."

Great friendly place
"Although typically Greek in its amenities, the rooms were surprisingly roomy. We had two adults and a small child and there was plenty of space. The rooms were cleaned to a good standard, and the views beautiful. Here's the really good news though - you cannot find nicer people to host you! I raise my hat to the unfailingly cheerful Yainnis, Angela, Daisy et al. They were absolutely lovely to all and sundry. I also recommend the location and resort - gorgeous. If you want a laid back friendly family place to stay, look no further."

Quaint Greek accommodation in excellent location
"These apartments, although fairly basic and in need of a refurb, are nevertheless comfortable, clean and situated in an ideal location along the beach road. They have fantastic views from the majority of studios and even poolside you are treated to some brilliant sea views. We new what time of day it was by the departure and return of Costa's boat to Paxos and Antipaxos.Do not expect five star accommodation although the studios have everything you need for the preparation of simple snacks. The comfort of the beds takes some getting used to but they are fine.We were on the second floor with fabulous sea views and a large balcony which was shady up until 2.30pm.You can buy umbrellas for about 7 euros to offer shade on your balcony after this time and also to use at the pool as they are in short supply. You are given only one toilet roll for your stay but they cost 50cents for two in the local supermarket. We would definately stay here again as the family who own it are lovely and the atmosphere is very relaxing. "Please ignore the bad reviews about these apartments. My partner and I stayed here 2 years running, we had a terrific holiday in clean, pleasant surroundings. The apartments although basic were very clean with maid service everyday, the pool was clean, serviced several times (we were there 2 weeks on both occasions). Yannis and family are wonderful people, nothing is really too much trouble, including letting me run up a tab (ATM empty resulting in a trip to Corfu town). Greece is having a tough time at present so give Ananias and the resort a break.
Better still give it a go, its lovely peaceful with lots of great places to eat: Makis, Panorama, The Balcony all providing traditional food with good wine and great entertainment (usually provided by the proprietor).
There are more up market places in Corfu but at a price.
This was a cheap holiday approx £600 for 2 weeks for both of us: about the price we paid for a week in Portugal and thats a horror story in its self.
I will go back maybe not next year but defo the year after.
Goodluck to Ananias and the whole family who work so hard.
Cait & Dave"

"Just returned from year number 5. The family and their staff who run this property work very hard and are the most welcoming down to earth people who cannot do enough for you. If you want a 5 star luxury holiday you will not get it but if you would like a chilled/lazy,comfortable Greek self catering Greek experience you will love it. Please don't wait until you get home if you have any complaints as poor Yannis cannot do anything about it then. Here's to year number 6. I for one cannot wait. Thanks guys see you next year"

the worst place ever
"we have travelled to most of the Greek islands over the last 10 years and have had a lovely time on most occasions. However this place is the worst we have ever been in. On arrival we were shown to our room, number 119. On opening the wardrobe to unpack, the handle fell off. The lights above the beds did not work but made a loud spitting noise. The door leading from the kitchen to the balcony was only held on by the top hinge so did not close properly. The television did not work and the rep didn't care. Now to the outside. The pool area has grass roots pushing up the tiles causing a trip hazard. The children's swimming pool has been emptied for some reason, so any kids had nowhere to bathe. The sun beds appeared to be a least circa 1980, most were broken along with the parasols.
Opposite the apartment was a music/cocktail bar, the guy that runs this is practicing to be the countries worst DJ. He plays music until about 1.30 am every night. I did have a word with him but to no avail, the rep said it was down to me to ask him to turn the music down, not her!!!!! Due to the Greek economy the rubbish in the streets is now only cleared once a week, so the smell is sickening.
On the plus side there are some really good restaurants, great food at great prices.
This is my 3rd time in Corfu and St George's bay is the worst place I have ever stayed, thanks to these apartments and the total mis representation of Thomas Cook.
I would like to point out that this is the first time I have ever felt the need to complain about any resort.
Corfu is a lovely Island with lovely people, go visit and enjoy yourselves, but be warned, DO NOT STAY IN THESE APARTMENTS."

"The rooms were dirty and every time you took a shower you got an electric shock. The lights didn't work properly and there were rats running about outside the balcony."

3rd visit to Ananias
"Me and my daughter have just returned from our 3rd visit to the Ananias and once again we were not disappointed!!! if you are looking for a place to relax and meet great people then this is the place for you!!!! Yiannis,Angela,Dora,Vicky, Mama and Papa are THE most welcoming family and will do anything to ensure you enjoy your stay. Fabulous restaurants including Alex's,Makis,The Balcony are a short stroll into the village as you turn left out of the apartments, all of these restaurants staff and owners remembered me and my daughter from previous years and made us feel extremely welcome. We met some great new friends and also met up with the lovely people we met there last year, as i have said in my previous reviews of the Ananias do not listen to the bad reviews on here, if so many people return year after year after year ( we have met people who have been to the Ananias 28yrs running!!!!) What does that tell you??????? I have already booked to go back next year for 2wks as a week just wasnt long enough!!!!!! Amazing place, amazing family, amazing views, amazing food, amazing holiday!!!!!!!"

Lovely family holiday !
"My family and I have just returned from a week long stay at the Ananias Apartments.I have read the other reviews and can only say that, yes the apartments are very dated, but are spotlessly clean with fresh bedding and towels twice weekly. The air conditioning and safe deposit box was an extra 100 euros which I found a bit pricey. The food is very resonably priced and delicious, all made fresh. The family and staff are delightful and excellent hosts, including the two dogs Zelda and Socks.
The location is excellent with all you need right on your doorstep,we found the local bus service very good too.
I would recommend Ananias to any of my friends and would love to return there next year.
Irene,Jamie,Olivia & Alfie."
