Tondoris Apartments & Studios

Perfectly acceptable for basic holiday accommodation
"We stayed at Tondoris Apartments from 21st August to 4th September 2009. As with many places in Greece, there was no hook in the bathroom for the shower head and no shower curtain so the bathroom often resembled a paddling pool after it had been used but this seems to be the standard in many a Greek hotel.
The apartment was already occupied by half a dozen or so mosquitos when we arrived as they had left the door open to keep the room cool but there were mosquito repellent plug-ins (possibly left behind by previous occupants) and we found a spray in the local supermarket for around 4 euros that did the trick if we sprayed before we left the apartment of an evening.
The rooms were cleaned every day and towels/sheets changed every 2 or 3 days. The kitchen is small but sufficient for self catering, although with so many restaurants to choose from, I can't say that we used it! The pool is huge compared to many others in Sidari and there are more than enough sunbeds, so no need to get up at the crack of dawn to put your towel on one. I found it odd, yet refreshing that you can pretty much go to any hotel/apartments and use their pool, bar and restaurant, too.
Stefan the bar manager and Stu the owner are both lovely and welcoming. Try one of Stefan's special cocktails. They're buy one get one free and rather tasty and must if you're feeling hot by the pool.
Sidari itself is a little commercial so expect the odd British pub, karaoke, quiz nights and touts in the street trying to get you into their restaurant/club, but they're not too pushy. I would say that a visit to the Sunset Beach is a MUST! It's about 2km away so either a 45 minute walk or around 8 euros taxi ride (recommended if coming back in the dark!). The views are absolutely stunning and the food is pretty good too. Other good places to eat along the main busy strip in Sidari are Sunset restaurant and Sea Breeze and the all-you-can-eat buffet for 10 euros at the Chinese, is delicious.
We booked several trips with Vlaseros travel who have a branch in the main street and one next to the 'Three Little Pigs' restaurant. We found them very professional, friendly and informative and it's amazing how the drivers get those huge coaches around some of the narrow streets! The staff at Vlaseros are very upfront about any additional costs there may be ontop of the excursion price (most do not have any extra costs), so there should be no surprises. I would very much recommend the Paleokastritsa and Bella Vista trip for some amazing views of the island and the East Coast Cruise is definitely one of the better boat trips.
All in all, a little commercial for our tastes but we had a great holiday none-the less."

"The Tondoris is a really clean, quiet & attractive set of apartments. The rooms are relatively basic, but are spotless and easily do the job for a self catering holiday. The pool is amazing & there are plenty of sunbeds so no need to reserve any! Be aware that the mosquito repellant plug-ins are not included by the Tondoris, it is just that the people before you might have left the one's they actually bought themselves. The Tondoris is on the outskirts of Sidari, which we found wasa no problem. Sidari itself is nice and there are loads of places to eat & shop. One tip from us is to go to the Sunset beach which is a 45 minute walk or taxi ride away - it is amazing!"

"This was our second visit to Corfu. We stayed in Sidari at the Tondoris apartments. The atmosphere is very chilled and relaxed and if that's what you are looking for, that is what you will get. The complex is kept very clean, and the apartments are tidied virtually everyday......and the sheets and towels get changed several times during your stay. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
The beach is only a short walk away - over the bridge and go round the back of Blondy's Bar and you are there. Once in the sea, you can walk out quite a way before it gets deep.
Plenty of places to eat, but our firm favourite is Sea Breeze on the main strip. The food is gorgeous, with plenty to choose from the menu, but a good deal is the Special's menu, where you get a starter, main course and a sweet for just over 7 euros. Well worth a visit, and it's busy every night, so that speaks volumes!!
We booked trips through travel agents based in Sidari. The deals seem good, but watch out for hidden extras (they say there are no hidden extras, but there are). For example if you do the island tour, you have to pay to go into the palace, and if you want to go on the glass bottom boat you pay.....and lunch didn't come too cheaply either! Always ask what the itinerary involves befroe you pay, so at least you are not going to receive any surprises.
All I can say is, go, enjoy the holiday and experiences but be prepared for the mossies!!!!!"

Another good review!
"Our holiday was a last minute booking as our previous was cancelled due to the collapse of XL. Would not have picked Corfu but was pleasantly surprised and had a great holiday.
We had a studio room 18 and loved it's size. Okay the bathroom was a tad small but thats normal in Greece. It also lacked a hook on the wall for the shower but no big deal. The studio consisted of the usual furnishings ie, a small kitchen with mini oven/stove, fridge, basic utensils, table and chairs, twin beds, dressing table and a wardrobe. The balcony overlooked the back garden, also with a table and chairs. There is nowhere to hang beach stuff/washing etc so was provided with an airer straight away. All in all the room was spotless and we were more than happy to spend 2 weeks there.
Accommodation has a huge pool with plenty of sunbeds and a bar providing drinks and snacks. Although we did not eat there I believe food is available from 9.30am.
The owners provided anti-mosquito plug ins which is a sign that they do have a problem throughout the island. So be prepared and always carry plenty of repellent as I was bitten mostly during the day!
Our favourite places to eat were Alexis taverna (left out of Tondoris and about a 20 min walk through village). Also liked Nicholas Taverna next door to Tondoris, fabulous food & staff really made us feel welcome. On a Sunday night, venture further on from Alexis Taverna to Kaliva Bar where the owner holds a BBQ, the food and the family were great.
If you turn right from apartments and follow road down over the smelly river, you enter the main Sidari resort. Not a favourite of ours so we were glad Tondoris is on the outskirts (Peroulades). However there is still plenty to see and do at this end. A great location & great accommodation."

"Our friends were going to Sidari for a week, and we wanted to be near them. We booked solely on the basis of the reviews on Tripadvisor, and were not disappointed. We had a studio and a 2 bed apartment. The studio was basic but spotless, and was better than 2 star. The appartment was superb, with a terrace all round it ( it was on the first floor), and mosquito nets incorporated into the windows so a draught was allowed through all night. My daughter and her 2 children (7 and 8) stayed here and it was 3 star plus. Only moan was the lack of much cooking utensils, but in truth we hardly used them. If you can afford it I would recommend the appartment above the studio, but both were well looked after. The pool was very good, and there were always plenty of sun beds.
Sidari is a bit like Southend on Sea meets Corfu, but the bit where the Tondoris appartments are is les noisy, but near the main strip if clubbi9ng is what you are after.
We had a really good time, and were very pleasantly surprised by the accomodation, especially considering its rating."

Tondoris Apartments were lovely!
"The Tondoris apartments were excellent.
The rooms were clean and tidy. The pool area was spotless, well kept and there was always a sun lounger available. The Planet Bar (the Tondoris bar) provided great entertainment and everyone was very friendly and welcoming (the cocktails are super too!) Perfectly situated you get holiday peace and quiet but everything you need is no more than 5 mins away. The pool is super and after reading other reviews I think it is fair to say that Tondoris has the biggest swimming pool, which again is clean and maintained to very high standards.
Tondoris is situated on the Canal d'amour side of Sidari and though it is a lot quieter than the sidari strip (5 mins wak away) there are plenty of bars and restaurants to go to. We headed along the Sidari strip a couple of nights and it was busy - though most nights we went out for something to eat and then headed back to the Planet bar via one or two other bars.
The Planet bar serves food until 5 which is great if you are wanting a snack. Places we ate which I would recommend are the Three Little Pigs (every night is 'Greek' night and they put on a brilliant show of dancing, plate smashing and fire dancing). The staff are lovely and the food was good too. We also enjoyed Cactus Jacks - ok not Greek food and a little pricier than other restaurants but the food is awesome and the portions were so big we couldn't move after we'd eaten! Holiday indulgence!
We booked all our trips through the local shops that organised trips - there are about 3 or 4 in 2 minute walk of Tondoris - we felt these were reasonably priced.
We also hired a car out for the day. The weather was a littel dodgey and a lot of people must have had the same idea as us as there was only a jeep left (one of the more expensive hire vehicles). We drove from Sidari all the way around the east coast, through corfu town and then to St Georges (just above Kavos) and back and it cost us 50 euros in total (inc. petrol and extra miles). Quad bikes were popular to hir and so were scooters/mopeds but we saw someone have an accident on a moped so were put off hiring on of those!
Rather than head to the main beach try and find a little cove off of the canal d'amour. You can walk through the pool area of the Kahula hotel and find yourself a beautiful beach where are is room for about 24 sun loungers - we spent 2 of our days on this beach and it is lovely.
We had a really nice time in Sidari - it is a little British (tavernas with the names of 'Churchills' for example) however if you can get away from this it is a lovely place.
I would definatly recommended you prepare for the mosquitos - I forgot to put my spray on one night and I was quite literally eaten alive!
There are several cash points on the main strip and there are supermarkets literally a stone's throw from Tondoris.
I would definatley recommend that if you are going to Sidari that you choose Tondoris apartments."

Love it here!
"IN my opinion, these apartments are one of the best in sidari!
They have an excellent position, far enough away from the main strip but busy in its own right.
The pool is one of the biggest i saw and extremely clean and well kept, you can usually find a lounger, and its gardens are very well groomed.
The planet bar is brill as is the food served there, my favourite was the club sandwiches - heavenly!
Usually lots of entertainment, Karaoke, quizes, films, sky sports for the boys! Theres also a couple of pool tables.
Rooms are lovely, both times we've stayed we've paid the extra supplement to have pool facing apts and i think its well worth it.
Yes the rooms are basic but they are very clean and modern and you have a good sized fridge which is really all u need as you will def eat out every night!
The bathroom is somethin you'l have to adjust to if you've never been to greece before, no shower curtain so u have kinda hand hold the shower head, but its no biggy and u soon figure out how best to wash your hair without totally flooding the room!
The toilets are another thing to get used to in greece - you can't put paper down the toilet as the drainage system cant cope! Its ok in your own room but when u go out it can be pretty horrible! Esp in some bars where people really dont care!
A lil tip is to take baby's nappy sacks with you, scented if poss and put used paper in these before putting into the bin.
The restaurants and bars are brill, lots of choice but not overly rowdy jus a nice balance, and it was greazt to come back to the apts and sit and have a lil drink in the bar before bed!
Def do some excursions, corfu town at night by boat is a must, as is the water park and the beach bbq.
My fiance and i have been there twice and have recommend it to friends who have all loved it!
I would highly recommend these apts and this resort and stefano and his dad are doin a great job of keepin tondoris ticking over smoothly! Keep up the great work!"

Thondoris Apartments, Sidari, Corfu
"THORDORIS APARTMENTS, SIDARI CORFU
Just returned from the Thondoris Apartments in Sidari Corfu and had a
lovely holiday. Went for a week and booked through First Choice website - rated as 2 star accommodation. The apartment was very spacious. Had two good size bedrooms with 2 proper single beds in each. Lovely size lounge, three balconies - two pool facing and one facing back garden. The apartments were very clean and serviced daily, towels changed twice during our stay. The towels were clean smelling. The owner of the complex does not allow use of the pool after 19h00. Maintenance then takes place i.e. cutting and watering of the lawn, washing down the pool area and sunloungers. Mosquitoes can be a problem - spray and plug in's are essential. However our apartment had plug in's supplied we had to purchase the refills only.
The only drawbacks were that the accommodation next door had a swimming pool half filled with stagnant rain water. Found the bar to
be a bit noisy - music or karaoke after 3.00 am. My family and I would highly recommend this apartment. The local people were friendly and helpful. A lot of action on the strip with good reasonable priced meals."

Clean, but basic
"Had a good time here. Rooms were very basic but clean, and towels were changed regularly. You get your basics like a kettle, fridge and small cooker to make meals but to be honest we ate out every night as the resturants here are fab!
There's a good sized pool, kiddy pool and a bar which serves snacks and drinks throughout the day and night. Bar staff are friendly and the beach is a short walk up the road.
When I went in July it was quiet here, so I would recommend these apartments to families and couples."

Good valur for money
"If you are looking for a basic and clean accommodation close to town and the beach we greatly recommend the Tondoris apartments.
It is basic but very clean thanks to 2 hard-working maids: Villy and Camelia. The room was cleaned everyday and the sheets and towels were changed twice.
We had a pool view with a very large balcony that we had to share with our neighbours. That was a problem because we couldnât leave the window opened if we were out. Beside our neighbours were smoking in the balcony.
The pool area was well kept and clean but the food served at the bar was disappointing. You could only find chips, burgers and English breakfast in the morning.
We had problems with the late check out so we had to book a room in another hotel. There were rooms that were free but the manager of the bar âStefanosâ was not helpful with our request. We did not understand why but his attitude was not professional at all, he kept smoking in the bar and he was quite nervous and on the defensive if you asked anything. He was only friendly with people eating at the bar. It is a pity because the rest of the staff was helpful and very friendly.
Mosquitoes were a big drawback, we tried everything sprays, creams, plugs so be prepared!

Best holiday ever
"We visited Tondoris Appartments in Sidari in June 2010.
We found these apartments to be excellant, very clean and modern, the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful and the pool and pool area were fantastic. We ate out every day and found the restaurants and food to be of a very high standard especially if you go Greek rather than eating the usual burger and chips etc. The best restaurant by far in Sidari is The Three Little Pigs, where not only could you get a delicious meal and wine for a very reasonable price but also have some traditional greek dancing for entertainment before walking 5 minutes around the corner to the main strip where all the bars are. Here there are numerous bars with tribute acts, music, quizes etc and then most nights we rounded off the evening with a sing song at the karaoke bar One for the Road bar at the top end of the strip. This was by far the friendliest bar in the whole resort, the owner was very welcoming and remembered you every night and what your tipple was.Free nibbles for everyone and even on one afternoon when we popped in for a soft drink to avoid the blistering heat he remembered us and served us with some cake that his "Mama" had made, and introduced us to her. All in all we had a fabulous holiday in Sidari, so much so that we are going back again this year to the Tondoris and we cant wait. We would recommend these apartments and this resort every time."

Great place to stay
"Spent a week at the Tondoris Apartments and enjoyed every minute.
Apartment was basic but spotlessly clean and was surprisingly spacious. Everyone (especially Stephan) at the Tondoris was extremely friendly and did everything to ensure an enjoyable stay.
Several great beaches within walking distance and a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, all pretty good value.
Sidari was a good place for a family holiday and I would not hesitate to stay again at the Tondoris apartments."
