Sidari was once two small villages beside the coast, but tourism and the ensuing development has brought the two together. Now it is just one large resort, and package holidays in Sidari offer everything you would expect from a Greek tourist town. Located on the island of Corfu, it is often overlooked as the majority of tourists head for the more renowned resort of Kavos. The plus side of this is that people looking for package holiday deals can often find a good bargain. The accommodation on offer here varies, but typically you will find hotels or apartment blocks with a large communal pool.

The three sandy beaches within walking distance of Sidari all offer a slightly different experience. The beach closest to the old fishing harbour is a small and quiet bay that is probably the tidiest of all three. The main beach is covered with sun beds and parasols and is largely favoured by those seeking a tan. If however you want to take to the water, you can hire you own boat from the ‘Yellow Boat Company;’ no license is required to drive these small 25hp vessels. To the west of the resort you will find the third beach, next to the Canal D’Amour. The cliffs here are quite a sight, but the smell from the canal can be a off-putting.

Holidays in Sidari are best suited to families and couples, providing something for everyone’s tastes. The nightlife is less hectic than Kavos, but there is still some entertainment to be had after dark. There are sports bars and steak houses to please the strong British crowd that the resort attracts, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find more traditional fare. The real fun comes by strolling around the back streets to find a small Greek tavern, which enables a more authentic dining experience.
