Quiet and peaceful
"A very peaceful location, away from the main strip. The owner was friendly and very chatty. But the room was only cleaned a couple of times in the week, which was a bit of an issue when toilet paper has to be put in a bin. We also only had one change of towels.
As a family of 3 we were expecting a bedroom and living area, but all 3 beds were in the one room, and the only seats were outside. Not too much of a problem for us, but we all had to go to bed at the same time!
There were a few wild cats, and we were adopted by one which was really poorly, so potentially quite upsetting, but she did get better during our stay and appreciated warm water and cheese!
The nearest beach was a 10 minute walk through the Acapulco bar next door (well worth a visit for the fantastic view) but meant a rocky walk and step ladder over a wall, so no good for anyone with walking difficulties. The main beaches were a longer walk down the hill, so quite a trudge back up again!
We hired a boat to get to the other beaches around the coast which was fun.
We also hired a car for the day from the nearest car hire place. I wouldn't recommend them - lots of hidden charges!
Buses to Corfu town were every hour and reliable, contrary to what the Olympic rep told us!

A most welcoming place to stay
"We had a 2 week stay and what a lovely time we had. Elisabeth and Antonio were very welcoming and friendly. The appartment was lovely and clean, light and airy with air conditioning when needed and with the pool literally on our doorstep, perfect! Situated just in the right place for us,away from the main hussle and bussle but within walking distance of everything you could possibly need. Recommend the Elia Taverna next door, again lovely people who run it lovely food and love the Greek Dancing on a Friday night! Theres also a bus stop on the doorstep to get into Corfu Town which was great. So much to do, Hire Mopeds, Cars, Quadbikes,Boats,Diving , go on boats trips that you can see under the sea.....chill on the beaches (tho' a bit stony) and if you like walking the walk up to Lakonas is definately worth doing all the way to the castle. Plenty of Tavernas to stop off on on the way to quench your thirst and great food ! Took us all day but was a lovely day .We would thoroughly recommend the Aphrodite Studios /Appartments and would definately go again ourselves ."

Beautiful location, stunning scenery, really hospitable owners.
"We have just back from a fantastic holiday at the Aphroditi apartments and studios located at Paleokasritsa Corfu. The accommodation is very typical of Greek self-catering apartments. The owner, Elizabeth, kept our room spotlessly clean, bedding was changed 3 times during the week we stayed here and she even washed and ironed a pair of trousers for me! nothing was too much trouble for her.
The Aphroditi has very pleasant and well-kept grounds, we were kept constantly amused by the antics of the two resident tortoises Terry and George. The pool facilities were excellent and really refreshing after sun bathing under the Greek sun.
The accommodation is located at the beginning of the resort and is about a 20 minute walk from the main beaches. Much closer there is bathing from rocks particularly from the fabulous La Grotta with its decking bathing areas and bar facilities. Paleokastritsa is a stunningly beautiful resort, but donât expect thundering music and hectic night life.
There are excellent reasonably priced tavernas close by, especially Spiros's.
All in all a fabulous modestly priced holiday and the weather was only surpassed by the warmth of the hospitality extended by the owner Elizabeth and her family.

our hidden treasure
"From the first day we got there till the last the service that Magda and her husband gave us was outstanding. Although the rooms were basic, they were clean and comfortable. We liked the tranquil location walking distance to the shop and a couple of very good Tavernas. Just think of the movie Mama Mia as this just about sums it up. Can't wait to book up and go back.

"Magda, Staphi, Elizabeth, Addonis and Aphrodite herself were wonderful hosts during our two week stay. They have built a great family business and really work hard to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as it can be. The studio was cleaned regularly to an extremely high standard, when we needed air conditioning it was quiet and efficient and only at a small additional cost. The pool was warm and inviting and the bar well stocked. Magda and Elizabeth can conjure up delicious snacks during the day and for the evening there are a number of tavernas nearby. We became regulars at Averto just opposite the Aphrodite. Paulos cooks wonderful take aways on his grill for the locals but also rustles up fantastic restaurant style food at a fraction of the cost. Jim - the waiter is wonderful - he made us feel really special and made some excellent recommendations for authentic and very tasty Greek meals."

Can a single 42 year old enjoy Paleo alone?
"It was my third trip to Paleo, my 2nd to Aphrodite studios. I think as I was travelling alone this time the friendliness of Magda, Stathis, Elizabeth and Antonis really stood out. They couldnt do enough for you and were always cheery and welcoming. I was never really lonely. The appartments had been revamped since I last visited. They were nicely done as they always were but still inkeeping with their 'Greekness' and with the addition of Air con too!! Bonus.... I would reccomend Aphrodite to those who wnat to feel as they are part of an extended family, not just a tourist but a respected friend or friend in the making."

Fantastic relaxing holiday
"We had an amazing holiday that suited every member of my family ( kids 10,14,16).
Magda and the rest of her staff at Aphroditi couldn't have done any more to improve our stay we will defintely recommend it to all our friends & family and return another year.
The 2 bedded apartment was spacious and clean. The pool & bar area attractive and welcoming. Although the beach was a 25 min walk along a fairly busy road there was access to the sea via the Acapulco bar next door which more than ticked the boxes for us.
There are many places to eat along the road into Paleo
We would highly recommend this place to you all."

Lovely People, Great Place!
"We stayed in one of the appartments which looks out onto the pool near the bar.
For the time of year we had superb weather throughout our holiday apart from 1 day of rain but who can moan at that!
The apartment was kept very clean for the whole week and the lovely staff who look after the bar and appartments were always helpful and gave great entertainment through the evenings. Bar closes when last person goes to bed!
We hired a quad bike for the day which was great fun although we had the misfortune of ours breaking down near end of day. However it got us up some steep hills with a few hairy moments, lol. Also hired a boat for around 50 Euros plus fuel and that gave us 3 hours in a 30hp speed boat. Gave usa chance to see the island from a different view and also fast and fun!
Spiros is a beautiful restaurant just down the road from the apartments and the food and service is wonderful. Do try the greek specialities as they are mouth watering.
We would jump at the chance to go back again to the same resort.
Overall a great relaxing holiday with plenty to see and do if you have the transport. Friendly locals and wonderful food. ENJOY"

paleo in october
"we booked this holiday at the last minute and had reservations as to how good it would be. we had never waited this late before and didnt really like the idea of not having alot of information untill we arrived.
we flew with monach and got all you expect from cheap flights.we arrived at 5.00 am local time and was met by our olympic rep. after getting on the coach we had a small journey lasting about 45 minutes then we arrived at the aphrodite in paleokastritsa. we had a short nap and then went walkies. due to the time of the year alot of the resort was closed but we rented a car and went on a few excursions that were still on. the place is beutifull and peacefull and with the car we went to sadari, dassia, corfu town and others and really dicoverd corfu. the hotel was basic but clean and well kept, elizabeth was very helpfull and full of knowledge. our rep nikki was also great and she even gave us a lft to the other side of the resort to change some money to save us the walk in the afternoon heat.
In all we would recomend the hotel and the resort but if you like to be kept busy we would suggest going early october so there is more to do.and renting a car from the rep is the best thing ever as you can make your own plans. will be going back next year for sure

"Weather good considering its rainy season.
We stayed at Aphroditi apartments, which were basic, although were kept clean to high standards. Cleaner came in every other day. Linen changed twice weekly.
The staff very friendly. Beautiful scenery. Highly recomended for anyone looking for relaxing holiday. Night life low key. "

We have just returned from Paleo, Corfu...
"We have just returned from Paleo, Corfu (July) and the weather was very hot. We stayed at the Aphroditi Apartments, which although were basic, the apartments were kept clean throughout with linen changes twice weekly. The owners (Elizabeth and Magda) were genuine and lovely and helped whenever it was needed. My husband had a problem with his hearing and Elizabeth's husband drove us to the local pharmacy which we thought was very endearing. The resort of Paleo is quite hilly and it would not be the best choice for the less mobile. Buses run to Corfu town and it costs around 2 euros each way (half hour). Taxi back would set your around 35 euros, so it is worth considering making friends to go with, to share the cost. The beaches and scenery are breathtaking. The water can feel quite cold, even in July, but refreshing and clear. The restaurants near to the apartments are very good (Spiros and Oasis) especially as the service and staff were fantastic. Cost of a meal for two would range between 25 and 40 euros, depending on the amount you drink with your meal. The drinks I found were quite expensive, but that is the case now when you are abroad. A beer and Vodka with coke will set you back around 8 euros. Hiring of boat taxis can be a little on the costly side, depending which beach you want to go to. It can cost between 10 euros for the nearest beach to 70 euros for the furthest. We also walked up into the mountain to a village called Lakones, it took an hour to reach it and in the heat it was quite a challenge, but the views across the bays were fantastic and the walk back was down hill. Overall a brilliant holiday."
