"this is the second year we have holidayed in kavos.we went in september when it was a bit quieter and we loved it .we stayed at the same hotel as last year ( the morfeas ) when we walked through the door we were remembered straight away i do not know if that was good or bad. we found the hotel and staff very friendly that is one reason we went back a second time. we were close enough to corfu town so that we could take day trips. the food was brilliant and there was a lot of choice when eating out with a choice of english, greek, mexican, chinese, indian, even mc donalds if that is what takes your fancy. they do a great english breakfast at uncle harry's all british food. thomas runs the place he is friendly and a great cook by the way.we are going back on september the 7th 2009 for our third year it is that good. if anybody has any questions i would love to help (see my photos )"

dont go with high expectations
"im 20 and went to kavos with 10 of my girls. kavos was essentially a clubbing holiday. the nighlife was ok, if u dont mind being hassled every 3metres and physically grabbed to go into bars for watered down drinks. the hotel was ok. a good distance from the main strip, quiet at night but a short walk out. although the party lasts through the night so peoplke will play loud music in their rooms anyway. really clean but small rooms. i did wonder what the point of locking your door was if the cleaner repeatedly left the terrace doors open on the ground floor. the toilet didnt flush and the shower curtain didnt reach the tray. everything you think uv already paid for, air con, safe, breakfast. you wil need to pay extra for, and by the pool you will be charged up to £2 for a can of coke. the staff were friendly and helpful. the pool looked clean but i had a clear lilo, which was in 2days green and chalky on the bottom. the best part is you can go and meet good friends, as every1 there is up for a laugh. i did wonder why the odd old person was in a hotel like that though!"

a nice holiday
"Me and my boyfriend went on our first holiday on the 9.6.08 and came back on the 16.6.08. We are a young couple, im 18 and he is 22.
The holiday we had cost us 550 for the both of us including holidays and transfers and that was on a b and b basis.
The weather was lovely and hot, although when we landed there was a storm, luckily this only lasted about half an hour and the sunshine was with us before we got to the hotel! The transfer takes roughly an hour and a half.
The hotel itself is in a really good location about 5 mins walk away from the smaller strip in Kavos. Prepare to be hassled when you are walking along to go into bars and restaurants, but this is the same with many places that you go to. Most of the PR's arent too pushy and if you say no they will let you go, but prepare to put your foot down if they keep pushing you!
The hotel pool was a decent size and it is easy to get a sunbed. The food and drink can be quite expensive although in the evenings they did an offer for 8 euros 50 that was your starter, main course and desert.
The one thing we werent too happy about was the fact that the breakfast you get is only continental and not the full, if you want anything cooked you have to pay extra. I would advise not to do B and B if self catering saves you money (which is an option the hotel offers) as there are many good deals for brekkie in the resort, for three euros you can get a full english.
We did find it rather noisy, not because of the hotel but because of some of its residents. In terms of location it is far enough from the clubs to get a good night sleep but it does depend on who is staying in the room next to you. One night it got really bad as a group of girls came in at 5am and decided to play music really loudly, I'd had enough so I walked to the hotel reception (which is 24 hrs) and asked the staff to do something.
The member of staff (George) immediately knocked on the door of the offending room and asked them to stop, which they did. Also I had a problem with the door as I didnt think it locked properly and Akis sorted the problem out immediately. So the staff are friendly and willing to help. Also they offer a safety deposit box for 10 euros.
The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable with regard to Kavos and Corfu town and the Aqualand, which I would strongly advise you to do as it is brilliant!! If you are hoping to venture out of Kavos, Corfu town is a picturespue town and you can get a coach there for 3 euros and 80 cents one way. Considering out tour operater wanted to charge 23 euros each we found that to be a bargain!
The beach is nice, much nicer than what we had read before we came. Sunbeds are 2 euros each for the day which we found to be a good deal.
There are some great places to eat in Kavos and the drinks are good too, for about 5 euros you can get two cocktails and 2 shots. A lot of places offer extras like fishbowls. There is also plenty to do, lots of watersports on the beach to do and mini golf and bowling all on the strip.
Overall I would say this is a good choice for a young couple although I would say dont go much later than we did or you may find it much louder! We found quite a few couples also in Kavos around this time and we made lots of friends.
Hope this helps!!"

fantastic family run!
"I had a fantastic time at this hotel and can say the staff were fantastic! They will treat you like one of the family. The pool area is really nice to relax by and you are only afew min from the beach, this does need a little work on but if you are a pool lover then this is the place fo you !!
YOu can have a 3 course meal in the hotel for next to nothing and it really is good food. try one of the greek nights or pool parties that the do as we had great fun . you are only a 5 min walk from the bars and places to eat but far enough to not get all the noise of the nightlife"

a great place
"After booking the holiday last year i was unsure what to expect, having heard Kavos was party central, as me and my wife are middle aged. But when we arrived at the hotel i was quite surprised to find a good mixture of ages. The young where there for the partying and the older where there for the weather. The hotel is far anough away from the night life so is fairly quiet, the staff are friendly, so we are going again on the 21st September this year. Finally its a great resort and a great hotel and suitable for families young and old from September onwards. See you september."

What a nice bunch
"Myself and my girlfriend have just got back from corfu, and i have to say i am shocked. we booked a cheapy getaway and thought the morfeas sounded ok, well, it is excellent. the hotel is a truely family run business, and by the time you leave you will know them all by name. the staff are very very friendly and i couldnt fault them.
when we arrived, our air conditioning didnt work and so the night receptionist/barman, George (who is an absoloute diamond), came straight out and sorted it temporarily, and said that he would get it sorted asap. the next morning, when we left the apartment, the Costas was waiting outside to go in and sort it out! next we had a problem with the shower head, and as soon as we told reception, it was replaced with a brand new one.
the pool by day is a great place to chill out and relax, with a great bar, music playing and food served as long as the bar is open. oh and whatever you do dont wear speedos to the pool! Jason will punish you if you do.
the hotel does have its own restaruant and is very good, keep an eye out for the daily specials, bargain city. (the steak is cooked to perfection here as well). most nights the reps will eat here!
the bar is your usual fare, coctails, draught lager, rediculous amounts of spirits etc. with a karaoke night, quiz night (with a twist) but the thing that makes it that little bit different is that it is the only true 24hr bar in kavos.
the accomodation is nicely set back from the madness of the strip, so you can get a good nights sleep, but it is strangely close to the strip so that you will be there in approx 2 minutes if you walk. the rooms are basic, but clean and has the ammenities you would want; beds, cupboard, bedside table, phone (which is cheap to use!!!) fridge, half length mirror, balcony, and a nice bathroom with wc, shower, sink etc. if you want to have the air-con switched on there is a charge of 5 euros per night or 25 euros a week.
greek night is a fantastic show and booze party, with a bbq 'style' feast... and it is great.
for the price we paid, i was blown away. if you pay aything under 300 a week then you will be too."

Unhelpful Hotel Staff
"Just got back From Kavos after spending a week at the hotel Morfeas with partner and 2 kids and it was a bit of a nightmare. The main reason being, we were given 2 rooms right next to reception where the noise from the bar and guests was ridiculous (ALL NIGHT).When we kindly asked the receptionist if there was any chance of moving rooms she told us to wait and see if there were any "no shows" from the new arrivals 2 days later. Why they couldn't just give us 1 of the rooms(at least)that were allocated to the new arrivals was beyond me. When monday arrived we were told that the hotel was full and that there was no chance of another room, she didn't seem to understand our concerns and annoyances, nor did the rep Kerry (probably more interested in the amount of money they were going to make from the rip-off trips). The bed sheets and towels only get changed once a week, consequently the rooms stank. We'll certainly not be going back. The Chandris hotel round the corner seemed like a much nicer place according to the guests we spoke to, the owner was a really pleasant guy."

"this hotel was amazing. good food, drink, people and apartment. 11 of us went, all the rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday! passports were kept safe and a safe was available for a small fee. the greek night that the hotel provides is a must do. i was ill that night ( busiest night for hotel) and they provided me with a different meal from what was being served which was great.the staff are lovely and the entertainment around the pool is good. would come here again and recommend to anyone
love the 11 carlisle girls :) xxxx "

Just for Single Wild Teenagers
"My sister and I (39&30) decided to have a nice cheap holiday somewhere warm in Europe. After little reseach I chose Kavos without realising this being a party place (my fault). Dont take me wrong, we had a lovely time, but unfortunately, its mostly just because we made it ourselves. It is impossible to get a good night sleep in this hotel. There was a night where after 5 hours of us trying to get some sleep (at 7am) I had to go downstairs and tell off 15 kids in the bar to keep the noise levels down as the bar manager just wanted to solve the problem with closing the doors, which wouldnt make any difference as these kids been screeming like a chimpanzees, running around the whole area, slamming the doors...and not just for one night.
The echo from the surrounding areas and the same 5 tunes you have been forced to listen till 3-4pm every night. The hotel staff itself been OK all tho we came across not so warm welcome at the beginning and even more of a stares after I have asked the receptionist to clean our room (we had a foot prints on the floor, the table was full of dust and one of the bedsheets been was a dirty yellow-ish colour - I left that one). We asked to move from the horrible lower ground room onto the first floor due to better view and sense of security and they accommodated our request. The room was still simple and you wouldnt unpack your clothes in that smelly wardrobe, but it was slightly better... The ol cleaning ladies been always smiling and lovely and Im sure they've been doing their job well inspite of being paid peanuts dealing with spoiled bratty ****** British teenagers...
We have been told this hotel has been voted the best hotel of the area. I dread to think what others looked like! There is a constant problem with mosquitos in Grece. This is due to a thin pipes in a sewage system, that doesnt allow you to dispose the toilet paper in the toilet, but in the bins next to it. This all makes the smell and the invasion of mosquitos often quite overwhelming...
he location in the hotel is near all the 'liveliness' and handy food store near by and far enough for it not to be right in the centre. Also, just 5 minute walk from the beach. The food and staff at the pool bar, well, they werent very friendly to us first time, so we never went back... They didnt even have a matches at the bar...neither put any effort to get us a fire.., so no joy there.
Another thing is - dont go for breakfast option! We have been told, we will be having a 'continental breakfast'. All you get is awful English toast with jam or honey and the choice of coffee or tea every single morning! If you would like to buy these breakfast, they charge you 4EUR for this! In any of the bars around the corner, you can get full English breakfast for 1.50EUR!! Also, the receptionist will after all this give you ******** about taking a little bit of milk in your room...scary.. :-)
Oh and airconditioning you have to pay for extra too. The cheapest version is 30EUR for a week!
Hm, no, definitely not a place to recommend or go back to. The reason why we had a nice time was everything but the place we stayed in... Dont go there if you:
*are a family
*want to have a romantic time with your other half
*want to relax
*are older than 18 or young, but sensible enough to enjoy life more rewarding way than getting slaughtered every night pucking from the balcony
*want to experience Greece

best holiday ever! :)
"we stayed at the morfeas hotel this summer and there was 11 girls, we were really surprised at how fantastic the morfeas was as we were expecting something completely different. it was everything we needed for our holiday, the rooms were spacious and although we went self-catering they provided us with most of the utensils we needed. the rooms were cleaned regularly and there was never any cockroaches or other bugs. the pool was also fantastic and there was always enough sunbeds throughout the day, the food at the hotel was also fine and not expensive at all. it was close to all the bars and restaurants which was exactly what we wanted! i would definitely recommend this hotel for young people as it is safe and perfect if your on a party holiday. we would definitely come again!
