"We have just returned from Regency Beach and have had a brilliant week. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough to help. The hotelreally is lovely. There are parts of it that could do with being updated, the rooms are clean but do need renovating, but the hotel is due to be renovated at the end of August. The food is lovely, I enjoyed every meal I had and there was so much choice. I went with my husband and three children and we all ate very well. There are a lot of wasps in the beach bar which is where you eat your lunch but although they were a bit of a pain, it wasn't enough to ruin the holiday. We had a seaview room and the view is beautiful. There is a road in front of the hotel but we didn't really notice it much it certainly never kept us awake at night. The location is remote, there is nowhere to walk too but there is a bus which runs in front of the hotel and this takes you to the nearest town and to Corfu town so you can get around if you want to. Corfu town is well worth a visit it is lovely. We never used the pools we stayed around the beach but a lot of people did and liked it, The beach is pebbly and is hard on your feet so I would advise you to bring something to keep on your feet in the sea. We brought snorkels each and spend hours in the sea, there are loads of fish and the water was lovely and warm. The entertainment team work very hard and are very friendly and enthusiastic. Some nights they put on a good show and other were awful, but we quite often sat on the terrace and played cards. The drinks selecion is good, lots of cocktails and non alchoholic ones for the kids. You can help yourself to beer and wine which means there are not bad queues at the bars. Make sure you take some good mosquito spray because they are out in force, I think I counted 20 bites on me and my husband 17 by the time we went home. There were always plenty of sun beds on the beach and you can use beach towels from the hotel for a 10 euro deposit. All in all we had a great holidays."

"I stayed in this hotel for 8 days during 31.07.2010-08.08.2010. It is only the first time in my life being disapointed from a hotel. No hotel is perfect but this has gone too far below for hotel of ~150EUR/night for a double room sea view all-inclusive + Sea view rooms have definitely great view (but not during the morning hours because of too much heat) + Huge variety of food of acceptable quality, especially during dinner hours + Friendly staff - Overcrowded hotel (more than 200 rooms, most of them all-inclusive stay all day long at the hotel facilities) - Very small pool for a hotel like this - too much people all day - Hall and room carpets urgently need replacing - at some parts of the hotel they smell bad - WC cleaning below than acceptable standards - 2 existing elevators all too hot, they smell bad, and they are very few for a hotel of 99% capacity all day long. At rush hours (breakfast time etc.) they need a little patience - Room A/C needs working at full extend being too noisy in order to cool the room - If you have an expensive car don't come with it. There is a small parking of ~15-20 cars and there is some space on the both sides of the central road for another ~20-25 cars. Parking late at night is sometimes difficult - Room shower is quite cold at some times (e.g. late at night) - Checking the iberostar hotels worldwide catalog it is by far the oldest & ugliest iberostar hotel "

"We just got back, The recency Beach hotel was all that we could have hoped for, we were first off the bus from the airport at 10:30pm and, although we were too late for an evening meal food was availible as was drink. The service and meals were excellent as was the maid service and general customer services. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner were made up of several choices and there was no restriction on how much you ate. It is self service which offered you the chance to try a little of something you may not have had before. The only gripe I have is the attitued of the guy who appeared to be incharge of the dining hall, he was a bit of a grumpy so and so and had forgotten how to smile. He gave me the third degree over a packed lunch. If you are British and like your tea or coffee then you would do aswell to take your favorite brand with you as their tea and coffee was.......not to my taste. There was plenty to do within the complex and the underground access from the hotel to the beach was a real blessing. The beach is stoney so it's worth getting a pair of Neoprene shoes (here they cost about £5 but in the hotel shop they were 7 Euros, about £8.50) The water was warm so we spent many hours swimming, snorkelling and messing around in the water. The fish seemed to have caught on to the holiday makers feeding them with left over bread from lunch, so there are plenty to see and swim with. There was talk of dolphins in the bay and sure enough on the Tuesday they swam across the bay (4 in total) the two lead Dolphins obliged the crowed with a cross over jump which was really spectacular. All in all, the £1200 we spent in total on the holiday was money well spent."

"Just enjoyed two weeks at this hotel. It is a very good all inclusive with food available all day long. The staff work really hard but still find time to have a few friendly words with guests.Bar staff serve generous measures and its not just because they are after tips either.Activities and evening entertainment is well organised by a very hard working animation team of four young people. The waiters and dining room staff operate under the watchful eye of Andreas the service manager and he does run a tight ship. He is very charming to the Ladies and treats the gentlemen like old friends with a smile and joke.If you stay at the Iberostar Regency Beach you may find the following tips of some use.1There are safes in the bedrooms but you will be charged 20 euros per week to use them. 2.Be prepared to rise early if you wish to reserve a sun lounger with a brolly. We had to get out at 6.45am to get ours each day and that sun is really hot at the moment. 3.If you want to see some of the Island you will need to hire a car or the local bus stops by the hotel, bus timetables are available at reception. 4.You will need beach/water shoes as shingle beach is rough on the feet. We had a great time and would use this hotel again. "

"This was simply the best hotel I have ever been to. The rooms, and indeed the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. So the furniture might not be bang up to date but its functional and anyone moaning about it should look round there own homes. Unless they go to Ikea every year and re modernize they'll have older stuff too! The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, they couldn't do enough for their guests, whatever time of day or night. No exceptions. (Indeed every evening the restaurant manager mucked in with the rest of his staff, setting tables, waiting on guests, and still found a smile and greeting for other guests). The location was breathtaking. We’d read on other forums about the wasps but don’t let them bother you they aren’t in the least threatening. They were not aggressive and no one got stung at all the week we were there. My partner is in pest control and like he pointed out the hotel couldn’t have done anything about them unless they burned all the trees and shrubs that surrounded the hotel which wouldn’t be an option! All in all 10 out of 10. Would recommend it to everyone. "

"Me and my partner had read quite a few reviews that had been quite bad and being out first holiday away with no one else were quite worried only got one thing to say WHY? We had night flights so arrived feeling not so good but the hotel staff were abosolutly amazing they carried my bag to my room which was more like a mini house. Me and my partner asked for the highest room with a see view not realizing that there were a bunch of aprtments above the hotel on the mountain behind :D it was so beautiful the roon was fantastic and the cleaning staff amazing my p.j's were folded on my bed every day as if someone was wearing them. The waiting staff absolutly fantastic teaching us greek as remembering your drink everynight so friendly felt sad to leave them. All though the beach is pebbles still absolutly fantastic and i would adivize to hire a boat if you can to see the surrounding sights absolutly fantastic. The food was incrediable something new everynight so tasty one thing i woud eat would be pitta gyros but would advize to eat in a small tavern outside of the hotel absolutly gorgeous. Not to far away from near towns and only 10 euors to get there. would defanatly go to aqualand SO MUCH FUN!!!! Everyone is also called Spyros. Greeks are mad driving CRAZY yet so friendly . Careful on the road the greeks dont no what slow means utill they step out of the car. Couldnt of asked for more help. Dont worry about the "main" road out the front of the hotel because it's not that busy tfor the greeks it is but to us its more like a country lane with the occasinal car passing every 10 mins. Absolutly fantastic would defantly go again we booked to go with iberostar again next year going to Crete tho Dont worry about what you heard about the hotel its fantastic and all inclusive really is all inclusive."

Very unsuitatable for a family with young children, no information given whatso ever about sheer volume of steps, my son is 19 months old and we had a nightnmare getting around, the pools were like ice cubes location terrible the shop didnt even sell milk. couldnt walk down the street for lack of paths. no locks on inside of room door so kept having my son escape 30 people in hotel for last 3 days. Food was lovely but was a little worried at lack of cleanliness. be advised no good for infirm or children under 5"

"The Regency is a lovely hotel and the staff are all friendly. the food is varied and is cooked and prepared to an ok standard there is allways an option for you to eat whatever your tastes, thanks must go to the reviewer below who mentioned the fact that the reserant manager insised on kissing all female guests as this prepared my betterhalf before we arived at the reserant. the drinks are ok but the white whine is disgusting dont order it. the hotel facilitys are ok but a little basic. the animation (entertainers) team works hard and where allways friendly but where clearly geting board of people saying no all the time. as mentioned in reviews bellow the worst thing about the hotel is the wasps, we did not get stung in are time at the hotel but you could not get food or a drink without being hassled by them. CHECK YOUR DRINKS BEFORE DRINKING THEM THE WASPS HAVE A HABIT OF SWIMING IN THEM."

"We stayed at the regency in September and at first we thought that we had really dropped lucky by booking this hotel but after two weeks you can begin to see where there is a lack of money being invested into the hotel. Good Points Reception staff are excellent and very helpful. Food was varied at every meal and they try to cater for everybody Considering it's all inclusive, none of the staff care how much or little you eat and drink, it's very relaxed. The hotel is very clean. Pancakes at 16:00! Not so good points The location is terrible and it’s very hard to walk anywhere as the road is so busy and without pavements and the corfuians drive like complete maniacs. Unfortunately there is not much around and if you do want a bit more entertainment you have to take a taxi to either Beniteses or Moratika. I would recommend the latter. The entertainment is dire. Show Stopper For me the ultimate show stopper was the wasps. I'm not just talking about a few, there are thousands including hornets. They are awful and the hotel did not do much to try to alleviate the problem. Lunch was continually served in the outside 'Taverna' and in the end my boyfriend and I gave up having lunch all together. This hotel should really have switched lunch to the main restaurant which would have solved the issue straight away. Overall very good value for money and if you are on a budget like we were, it not a bad place to be!"
