Totally hit the spot for a wonderful relaxing holiday!
"We have just returned from one of the best holidays we have ever had. We have travelled extensively over the past 20 years or so and stayed at some wonderful places, but in terms of a relaxing and stress free holiday Sebastians, Agios Gordios has it all.
We stayed in one of their new apartments, 2 bedroomed, lovely kitchen and dining room, fabulous bathroom with fantastic walk in shower, air conditioned, safe, and fab balcony to sit on for breakfast, or at the end of the day with the tipple of your choice, watching the sunset over the sea or just people watching in the village. Everthing is close at hand, supermarket, bakery, lots of lovely tavernas on the beach, and ofcourse Sebastians, lovely food, lovely people. There is a good takeaway just accross the street serving fabulous sandwiches, salads and pizzas(comparable to any we have had in Italy)and finally you can spend your day on the fabulous beach or at the pool 2 minutes away shared with Katerinas apartments, this is within the most beautiful garden complete with lovely flowers, shrubs and lemon trees producing the largest lemons we have ever seen! if you are very lucky Katerina will give you some to have with your gin and tonic, as well as homemade cake and eggs from her chickens!!
So all in all we had a wonderful time, thank you again all at Sebastians, but particularly Teresa (Sebantian's lovely English wife) whom we booked with directly on Sebastians Taverana website, she also organised our taxis to and from the airport, and everything from start to finish was dealt with effeciently and promptly, so thanks again Teresa, and we very much hope to return to Agios Gordios to see you all soon.
Just worth a mention, we did hire a car and explored the Island thoroughly, and there are some fabulous places but none as nice(in our opinion of course) as Agios Gordios!

A well-run and truly delightful corner of Corfu.
"We discovered Sebastian's Taverna after looking on Holiday Lettings. From there, we saw Sebastian's website, which really tipped the balance for us. The photographs of the taverna's plants and gardens set against the honey-coloured stone looked so attractive. Teresa (Sebastian's wife) responded to our email inquiry by return and was always prompt and well organised. We had asked for a studio, but as they were fully booked we just had a basic room with a fridge and air con (and iron and ironing board if you ask for it). As we like to eat out very night, we did not really need kitchen facilities anyway. The room, which had a small balcony, was fairly basic, but the bed was very comfortable, the water hot and the cleaner was thorough. For 40 euros per night for the room, you could not have asked for more. I checked out the studios and apartments and they were extremely well presented - the two-bed apartments were particularly spacious.
We really cannot fault Sebastian's - the staff were so friendly and helpful, Sebastian's mother is a delight, Sebastian and Teresa have time for everyone - even though they were always busy with the taverna and their young baby.
The taverna sits at the top of the the main road down to the beach and from the terrace restaurant you can look down and see all the comings and goings. I expect at the height of summer it gets a nice through breeze. We ate there just twice (simply because there was lots of choice in the village) but what we did have was delicious. The cinammon-flavoured moussaka was so more-ish, as was the prawn saganaki.
A real bonus for us was the use of a heavenly pool next door. It belongs to a couple who very kindly allow Sebastian's guests to use their pristine, rose-edged , palm-fringed oasis. A sort of pool etiquette is observed which includes guests putting the (new) parasols away at about 6.30pm and placing the (new) sunbeds neatly side by side. Demitri then comes out and does the gardening. Chickens cluck in the background, bees drone among the lavenders and lemons as big as oranges cluster overhead. If you like the beach but don't really want to be there in the heat of the day, this is a real slice of paradise.
We would highly recommend Sebastian's Taverna to singles, couples and families.
A well-run and truly delightful corner of Corfu."

Friendly atmosphere, but poor attention to detail
"We received a very warm welcome on arrival. Teresa had arranged for a taxi to collect us from the airport, which is only a 25-minute drive away. Our room (the double studio) was quite basic, but comfortable, and very clean. As it was only a few feet away from the dining area, we were worried about noise levels, but fortunately these fears were unfounded, and we could only hear noise from the Taverna on two evenings, when the musicians were playing (and this noise was pleasant!). The terrace outside the room was surprisingly quiet and secluded, and we slept very well all week.
We were disappointed with the food at the Taverna - the breakfast was very good, the lunch decidedly average, but the one evening meal we ate there was not of a high standard. A piece of veal was so tough, we could not cut it with a knife, let alone chew it. We were informed that the cook was having a day off, so we can only assume that the meals were pre-cooked and re-heated on demand. The service was consistently good in the Taverna.
The cleaner did not come on the first day, and we had to ask for our loo paper bin to be emptied. After that, the room was cleaned every day, although the cleaner never left us enough loo roll, we ran out several times, and ended up buying our own. The bathroom, although clean, was permanently waterlogged, as there was no shower curtain and water from the shower went absolutely everywhere. It was very unpleasant to return to bed with wet feet after visiting the loo in the night. There was no loo-roll holder and no soap dish although there were rawlplugs in the wall for both items. We found this to be quite sloppy attention to detail.
The location is very convenient - only a few minutes walk from the beach and shops. The best pool nearby was at Steven's on the Hill. We also visited the 'Eco-Pool' at the Aloha hotel, but did not like the loud music (at one point, they were playing a song with obscene lyrics - at 11am, with children present). Our favourite tavernas were Romantic Palace on the beach (don't let the naff name put you off!) and the Mexican 'Tabernita', although generally, we found the standard of cuisine in the resort to be fairly low, and most of the tavernas had identical menus. There is a lot of pizza, pasta, burgers and chips, and very little in the way of authentic Greek/Corfiot cuisine. Corfu is a lot more expensive than other Greek islands we have visited (a bottle of sun lotion we bought in Crete in September for 11 Euros was more than 20 in one shop).
We would recommend the walk to Sinarades, as described on the Sebastian's website (although this walk is not suitable for young children as there is some steep climbing involved). The way up is quite strenuous, but the view from the café at the top is well worth it, and Sinarades itself is picture-postcard pretty. However, on no account should anyone attempt the walk to Pendati, via the footpath at the end of the beach. Due to erosion and lack of a clear path, this climb is dangerous and should only be attempted by experienced climbers with proper safety equipment.
On the whole, we enjoyed our stay at Sebastian's, but will not return."

Far exceeded our expectations
"My husband, 3 year old son and I recently spent a week here and would highly recommend it. Being early September the village was quiet and most holidaymakers were couples or retirees (although we have a young son we avoid anywhere too kiddy-friendly). Sebastian, Teresa and Sebastian's mother are the most delightful hosts and made us feel incredibly welcome.
We booked the 2-bedroom family apartment above the taverna which just fantastic. So much nicer than in the photo's on the Sebastians website. It had a generous terrace overhung with grapes and is a perfect setting to watch the sunset. The apartment had everything we needed, was well laid-out and possibly the best holiday apartment we have ever stayed in.
The quality of the food at Sebastians taverna is very high and although it wasn't our intention, we ended up eating there every night! Such was the choice, quality and ambience of the place. Lovely wines too.
The village was small, friendly and not too busy. Not a place for those wanting to dance the night away but perfect if you're looking for a relaxed, good quality break.
Sebastian's itself doesn't have a pool but guests have use of one right next door (one minute's walk) which is lovely and has a small shallow pool for children as well as a deep adults pool. There are also other lovely pools in the village which you can visit easily.
The beach is fabulous - long, sandy and with clear unpolluted water. Turn left when you get to the beach and walk along to the end of the boardwalk for the best spots.
We didn't expect much from our week away (not expensive, late in the season etc, etc) and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised.
The only drawback was the multitude of wasps around at that time of year feeding on the ripe grapes, but at least they go to bed when the sun goes down leaving you to enjoy your dinner al fresco in peace."

Loved Agios Gordios and Sebastians
"We do not return to many places but Agios Gordios on the west coast of Corfu is an exception and we had a fabulous 2nd visit in June 2008. The resort/village has a fabulous beach, several lovely pools, great tavernas and bars and a few shops. The local people are very friendly and relaxed and it rubs off on the visitors there, all of whom seem to have a ready smile. Good food and reasonably priced drinks add to the wonderful overall holiday experience.
When we visited Agios Gordios a couple of years ago with Sunvil we ate at Sebastians most nights as the place is lovely, the food the best we have had in Greece and the owners friendly and welcoming. When deciding to re-visit, Sebastians seemed the ideal place to stay and we were delighted to have been proved right. From the helpful web-site, arrangements for the taxi for the airport transfer, the basic but lovely room, to the fabulous food, the whole holiday was perfect.
We cannot thank Sebastian, his Mum Vanessa and his wife Teresa enough for their efforts to make our holiday special, with fresh flowers in the room, their own potatoes and home-made wine with dinner every evening, and help with my Greek, the personal touches make Sebastians a unique experience."

"This was very attractive accommodation, with distinctly average attention to detail. We were disappointed by the view of the town's overhead lines from our veranda - although the beach is fabulous.
There are some fab restaurants on the beach (much further down) which we returned to time and again. A great location, but if you want any help as to visiting to the island - don't ask the proprietor:( Very nice place for a very independent traveller)-
the accommodation was great (despite the lack of a pool) you can go to a jointly owned swimming area, a short walk away, where the owner shouts at the users (children) if they make too much noise as he oversees the occasion from his balcony.
But all in all, the rooms were nice."

loved staying at sebastians appartments in agios gordis corfu
"We stayed at Sebastians in september 2007.The appartments are spotless and comfortable. The kitchenette is well equipped with all the usual mod cons.We didn't use the kitchenette as we ate out, sebastian also has its own Taverna, with traditional greek fayre.Sebastian and Theresa are on hand to chat with you and tend to your every whim.Vassillika,Sebastians mother usually takes your order and suggests a meal for your tastes. The appartments are very close to all the local bars and restaurants which every one we ate at was really good value for money, and good food too. Sebastians is 5min from the beach and a fairly level walk too, which is ideal for anyone with walking difficulties. All grocery shops are also next door to Sebastians. Car hire is also just there , which we found very reasonable.Next door to the car hire is a travel agent where you can book day trips etc.We went on a boat trip, excellent value for money and the coach picks you up at the bus stop two minutes from the appartments. We had a fabulous holiday and unfortunatley only went for a week,we could have easily spent another week there just lazing in agios gordis or touring more of the beautiful island of corfu."

Sebastian's - Stunning accommodation
"Our first holiday in Corfu and we struck gold! This has to be one of the hidden gems of the Ionian. If you are looking for a place to completely get away from it all and unwind this is it.
The amazing scenery, fantastic long sandy beach and the one street village of Agios Gordios, mean that you forget all about your worries back home! We stayed at Sebastian's the oldest and most traditional hotel/taverna in the village, it was fab. Sebastian and his wife Teresa were gracious hosts and made sure that our apartment was spotlessly clean and the food that we ate in the evenings delicious. We really enjoyed the Greek Music evenings they had on various nights and the selection of mezes they offered.
There are lots of other places to eat and drink in the village as well as Sebastians and most cater for all tastes, if you are looking for nightlife forget it! there are only a handful of bars to drink in after 11pm. A great place for kids, everyone is really friendly and you can easily get to other places on island from this central location.
We can't wait to go back again this summer and chill out."

"We found Sebastian's via the internet and didn't really do too much research on either Aghios Gordios or Sebastian's. The resort is fairly small and quiet, which is what we wanted, but has a great beach. Sebastian's exceeded all our expectations.
The two-bedroom apartment was spacious, clean, well-equipped and had a great balcony overlooking the vine-covered restaurant. We only used the kitchen for one meal in two weeks - there is a wide selection of restaurants in the resort, all within easy walking distance, and we didn't have a bad meal anywhere. Undoubtedly, the best meals we had were at Sebastians. The lunch menu is limited to lighter meals, but the evening meals follow a choice of "themed" nights - traditional Greek food, barbecue, vegetarian, fish - with good value deals. (The normal menu is available as well.)
All the staff at Sebastian's couldn't have been more helpful, and the whole experience of the holiday was one of friendliness.

"Sebs Studios were clean, and you got provided a kettle (novelty in Greece) basic cooking/utensils bedding and towels changed once a week.
Ate in the restaurant a couple of times (possibly the priciest of village) and was OK although personally we preferred other places.
As we had a night flight we tried to get an answer on whether we could keep a room and on the day before we went home finally got an answer - yes for 20 euros.
Take the threat of mozzies serious; never been bitten anywhere else but Corfu but they got me a few times; the roll-on repellent works best. It would be a shame to eat in the one place when there are so many to visit, all friendly without being pushy. Not going to recommend anywhere as each to their own, go and explore, however do visit the fish places and the best stifardo is Michalis (Warsteiner) just on your left as you go onto the beach.
All in all a great place to unwind and re-charge the batteries, great beach, safe for the kiddies. Would we go back? Yes but not just yet, the Greek Islands are too vast and beautiful to go undiscovered.
