Many ,Many, Steps
"This is a standard hotel but i think 3 star flatters it a bit. We stayed in early june 2011, we were in a studio in the area overlooking the pool, although on the first floor we still had over 50 steps to climb which was exhausting after a day in the sun, the hotel is very close to the beach ,but there is a steep incline to the hotel entrance. There was a lot of noise in the daytime and even more at night from the bar area, the computer was free but never available as the hotels children usually occupied it. I would not use the hotel again but the area is lovely"

"We have just returned from this beautiful place even more in love with Greece than ever!
Parga town is simply stunning and has something to offer for everyone, quaint cobbled streets full of shops, cafes and bars and a lovely harbour. There's nothing tacky about this place and yet it is so friendly and laid-back.
Our favourite taverna by a mile was Zorba's which occupies a corner position on the harbour front. The food is gorgeous, reasonably priced and the service is quick and friendly...you will love Apostolis the front-of-house guy...what a great character! Drinks are a good price too...we were happy to drink the wine from the barrel (red) which was a bargain at 8 Euros per litre!
Our favourite bar was Sea Breeze which again is on the harbour front (Castle end) this is a cool, classy place to chill-out and once again good service and friendly.
We stayed at Valtos Beach Hotel & Studios (Valtos beach) which was a great experience, the accomodation was spot-on and the service from all staff was faultless. The taverna here also serves lovely food coupled with excellent service and a great view thrown in! We will definitely go again! Go and enjoy!"

Large beer please Alex
"This is the third time at Valtos Beach and it just keeps getting better,Nicos,Christos,
Alex and mum and dad make you feel so welcome we feel like part of the family.
Towels changed every other day, loads of hot water and great views looking over the pool or the beach.
The greek night is a real bonus with mama the star of the night, all the staff are very
hard working and friendly doing everything possible to make your holiday special.
Yes the walk over the cliff is taxing but once over its all great views, and down hill good reason for a beer.Taxi back is only 4euros.
We will be going back next year so large beer please Alex."

Fantastic setting, nice people, good accommodation and food.
"We were greeted on arrival by the owners Christos and Nicos and made to feel very welcome. We arrived at around 11 PM and they had the chef on stand- by to cook us whatever we wanted.
Woke up the following morning, opened the doors to the balcony and we were stunned at the superb views.
All the staff are friendly people and work long and hard to please the guests.
The greek night (Wednesdays) was good fun and the chef did a brilliant job on the barbeque.
We will definitely consider this place again."

A Great holiday
"Just returned from a 2 week stay at Valtos beach, the rooms were great with a shower cubicle, our first in greece, towels and bedding changed at least every other day and really friendly owners with a delicious breakfast ,continental and bacon/sausage if required. We had a gorgeous balcony room with a sea view and a lemon tree just outside and were suitably impressed with the accomodation standard, the family are very friendly and hospitable and go out of their way to ensure your holiday is great. Air con and safety deposit boxes are free gratis and the hotel serves a high standard of meals throughout the day and evening. If you like the beach you are ideally placed within a few feet of the lapping waves. We enjoy walking and so did not mind the 10-15 min uphill struggle into parga each evening, however if you don't, taxis are apparantly plentiful if the need arises. We enjoyed walks through the olive groves and on the donkey trails, Jacki the rep has walking maps for likeminded individuals. We were very impressed with Parga, it is breathtakingly beautiful, the people are really friendly and welcoming to tourists, but most of all the standard of food quality in the restaurants we found was really high. Our favourites were Apagnio up a side street from the harbour, To Hani, Taverna Andreas, Sideris and for a very special treat Filomila at the top of the hill, although this is an upmarket italian influenced eatery. We found Parga had so much to offer particularly for us as walkers that we did not stray too far from the surrounding area, although boat trips and day visits to cultural sights were advertised by the reps and local travel agencies. We hope to return to beautiful Parga in the near future, it will certainly be hard to match it's charm."

âenjoyed our holidayâ My Hu...
âenjoyed our holidayâ
My Husband and I had a very enjoyable holiday travelling with First Choice. The rooms we had were as expected, very basic but exceptionally clean with change of sheets and towels daily (bit o.t.t we thought). Great hot shower with long curtain which kept room dry, unusual for Greece. Free airconditioning and free communal safety box, also tv. Some of the bungalows were better then others but it was reflected in the price as an upgrade was 40 euros per night. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant which served an excellent breakfast was right on the beach with fanastic views - what a way to start your day.
Location for us was good, very good beach and beautiful for swimming - sunbeds were 7 euros per day. Hotel restaurant was quite expensive but Valtros Campsite on the road near reception was very good, beer was cheap and staff and owners very friendly. However evenings in Valtros were very quiet so we always went towards town via the beach path. You could get a taxi 4 to 5 euros each way. The path is quite steep especially towards the top and then down the other side are a lot of long steps but if you take it very steady its not that bad - I am very unfit but managed with a few stops to admire the views. There are a few restaurants at the top of the path - we loved Stefanos, good food, cheap wine, amazing views and you can watch the sunset also, and you only have to stagger back down the path which is well lit at night.

"We stayed in one of the self catering apartments and were more than pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. We were greeted upon arrival by the owners taken to our apartment and introduced to the facilities. The view was stunning, with the location 50 yards to the beach. The hotel is built into a hill and sprawls amongst the local fragrant greenery , there are a few steps up to the apartments and the hotel itself and could prove difficult if you struggle on stairs. The staff were very friendly. Cleanliness was spot on.
Valtos Beach Hotel is over a hill from Parga town which in high temps is a bit of a climb but should not put you off the resort. There are water taxis every half hour that run till 2300hrs and they will take you from Valtos to Parga (excellent). Valtos beach itself is better than Parga's.
We would have loved to have stayed longer."

Amazing friendly place
"We stayed in the hotel for two nights during first weekend of May, after visiting the hotel's web site. Good thing for us that what the website promised, it was actually more than true: great hotel at a great place serviced by excellent and friendly staff with great food.
The location is great as it next to a great beach and just 10-15 minutes of walk from Parga centre or 3euro taxi ride. We could hear the waves on the ebach when goign to sleep!
Rooms are spacious enough with all the important amenities and the hotel brekafast is rich both in quantity and quality. Swimming pool is on the small side but the beach is right there instead! We also tried the hotel restaurant which I can say is equally excellent (cheese with honey is a must try) with reasonable prices.
I would have given it a 4 stars but I will go for five instead because I was amazed about how the brothers and the staff working at the hotel wanted everything to be perfect. They seemed to enjoy their effort to be perfect at everything. So I can only do the least thing and give them a perfect 5 star! Well done!"

"We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Valtos Beach Hotel appartments as we had read reviews on trip advisor and it was a toss up between Valtos and Parga Beach Hotel. We were greeted by Christos (one of the brothers who helps run the business) The hotel is built on several levels and we were given a room at the front which had both a pool and sea view! The rooms were very clean and we had a fridge despite being B & B. They also had free air conditioning and safety deposit boxes which cost at other hotels. The room was cleaned and fresh towels every day. I would definately say Valtos Beach is the best hotel around the area, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. It is a family run business and every effort is ensured that your stay is a good one.
Valtos Beach is the last appartments nearest the path that takes you to Parga town. The path is on quite slope and they do have water taxi's running from the beach although we enjoyed the walk into parga each day as it only takes 10 minutes. On the way up you can look down at the sea, which is crystal clear. There are a few cafe/restaurants at the top of the hill which are very good for food, but we found that many restaurants were all at a good standard.
I recommend visiting the bar "Avra" where we ended up most nights. It is situated just over the hill on your way down the steps into Parga. The owner is Dimitris, who makes any cocktail going and you can sit on a balcony area overlooking a small island and the sea.
The only thing that shocked us a little bit were the prices of drinks. E.g a vodka/coke (reasonable measure) was 6 Euro! A typical evening meal can cost anywhere between 6 - 14 Euro. (not including drinks) Not that different from eating out in England.
We would also advise checking the exchange rate before you leave as near my town it was £1 = 1.17 Euro We waited until we were in Parga and managed to get an exchange £1 = 1.27 Euro although it did drop to 1.23 whilst we were out there. I wouldn't advise withdrawing any as it was 1:1 !!!
I could write lots more about about stay but I will say that the majority of people we met there it was there 3rd or 4th visit to Parga and Valtos Beach Hotel which spoke volumes and I would definately consider going again."

3rd time - still excellent!
"We stayed here in 2003, 2005 and again in August 2007. We have never had cause to complain. The managers and staff are extremely friendly &
nothing is too much trouble. We like the proximity to the beach but also the fact that the town is a short walk uphil (Ok, it's a hot walk
uphill) or 5 minutes away by water taxi. The olive trees, flowers and shrubs are beautiful and it is lovely to see tortoises walking in the gardens. We would most definitely stay here again and again."

I was here for the last 2 weeks of Septe...
"I was here for the last 2 weeks of September. I had viewed the accommodation online, on both the First Choice website and the hotel's website and was excited at what seemed to be excellent accommodation by Greek standards.
In view of this I was willing to pay a premium price for the holiday. Unfortunately the reality did not match my expectations. There are a few 'special' apartments within the accommodation from which most of the images seem to have been taken. Many of the self-catering rooms are standard sized bedrooms with a kitchen area at one end.
My room was supposed to be for up to 3 people and First Choice raised an under occupancy supplement. The 3rd bed was a fold away chair which if opened out left no space for walking round the room, also only 2 mugs in the cupboard, no corkscrew, however there was an electric kettle. The studio was cleaned every day and our towels were changed every 2/3 days. I was on the top level and it was worth all the steps for the fantastic view from the balcony. People in B&B rooms seemed happier with their accommodation and many said they had fridges and cooking facilities anyway.
Due to a constant buzzing from the air con unit (even when not on), I asked if any other rooms were available and was shown 2 similar rooms which were for 4 people and had 2 double beds. Although larger these rooms were on a lower floor and had limited views through trees. I decided to stick with the buzzing.
The pool area was quite small and shaded for part of the day. There was a charge of around 7 euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella on the beach, although nothing to stop you putting a towel out. The 20 min walk into Parga town is up a steep, sometimes slippery slope, it soon became a chore.
Well worth paying 4 euros to get back in a taxi. Lovely beach which was sandier towards the harbour area, there were water taxis between Parga and all the local beaches.
As for food, I did not have a bad meal anywhere but a special mention for Casa Verde, Sakis and Bacchos that were my favourites. The Hotel owners seemed friendly enough but I just had the feeling they couldn't wait for the end of the season?
Overall I did enjoy my holiday but be aware you are paying for the location of this hotel, right on the beach. If beaches are not your thing you may be better staying in Parga town.
